I was woke up early morning not knowing what was happening, but also not wanting to. I was ushered into some wagon of a sort and fell asleep again. When I awoke I was on silky smooth pillows and my best friend was happily sitting next to me.
“Hey squirt, have a nice sleep?” She said
“It was… fine, where are we going” I replied.
“Yesterday, remember I said about your job?” she answered. I nodded.
“Dinky Doo, resident of Ponyville, you know the drill. She may be useful to us”
I gulped, this WASN’T good. But, as I looked into Rainbow dash’s eyes, those eyes, that bring back such mixed memories and feelings. I knew I had to do this…
The stomach churning feeling I got when I looked at Dash was long gone as I looked out the window. A voice screamed in my head
‘THIS ISNT GOING TO END WELL!’
but I silenced it and thought ‘If she was dangerous she would be rainbows by now, dead and gone years ago’ .
But I know she wouldn’t.
Dinky is my old friend. Before I joined my family at the Rainbow Factory we were friends, we were in my club the C.M.C “cutie mark crusaders” where we tried to find our cutie marks.
Of course, I don’t have mine yet. I don’t need it. I don’t want my butt telling me what to do. I know my destiny. My destiny is being at home. My destiny is working for the factory.

We both we're sitting at the controll panel, dinky was pressing the buttons i told her to. It was in visitor mode, so all she saw was that she was moving a crane. She was really doing nothing, since it was disconnected and it was also lunch break.
"Am i good?"
"Yeah. You're awesome at this."
"Cool!"
I was suprised. She was actually enjoying this. I wasn't.
I wondered if she'd have a heart attack and die when visitor mode was turned off.
I wondered if she'd actually end up working here, and hating me.
I wondered if she'd share a dorm with me.
She wouldn't.
I would stay as far away from her as i could.
I hate her.
I have to hate her.
My friends are my enemys.
The only ponies i can trust are Dashie and my cousin, Rainbow Shine.
I stepped back from her.
In a few minutes, the gaurds walked in. I felt sick, but i swallowed and pressed the button to lock the door.
Lunch must be over. I guess after this i will be excused for the rest of the day. Maybe i can eat them.
Im not hungry.
I pressed a few buttons. The console stopped glowing. Visitor mode shut off. The factory was in full swing.
She looked bewildered.
I stood like the gaurds. Like a soilder.
I pulled my gun out of my bag while she wasn't looking, incase some
funny bussiness happened.
"Wha?" She muttered
"What is this?"
I ignored her.
"SCOOT! WHAT IS THIS?!" She seemed frantic now.
"This is your life from now on." My voice was clear. Monotone. Like i was talking to any other pony.
"WHAT?! WHAT ARE YOU ON?"
"Insanity." I didnt look at her. Some of the gaurds chuckled a little. I know them.
The mood in the room had shifted. The air felt static. I had a bad feeling in my chest.
This wasn't going to end well.
I knew it.

"What do you mean?" She asked.
"This is your new job. THATS what i mean."
"What? I dont want a job!"
"Well, the ponies who run this place think you're useful."
"IM NOT!"
I growled "Shut up. Or they'll KILL you."
She shut up, i cleared my voice.
"Now. Lets go down and see my co workers, and what they're doing."
Dinky had been seized by the gaurds, we walked along the platforms.
I showed her how the machine worked.
"In a nutshell, the stabby thing stabs the failure, making the red stuff come out, thats blood, and then drops them into the grinder. The grinder grinds them up, it goes to the sorting chamber, the sorting chamber seperates the blood from the flesh and bones. The blood goes into the coloring chamber, which is filled with some chemical gases, and one of them makes the spectra cells come out, the spectra cells then go into another chamber where they're exposed to another chemical gas which makes them bind into a liquid..."
She was looking at me like i was mad.
"And the flesh and bones either get burnt or distroyed. Or sold."
"Why do you need to stab them at the start? To kill them quickly?"
I laughed
"Dont be stupid! They're alive untill they get painfully grinded up."
She cringes.
"And its because in the coloring chamber, the color only comes out if the blood has actually been out in the air. Everything is airtight. One of the chemicals makes the blood thats been in the air basically... infect the rest of the blood. Making them able to be colored too."
She probably hadn't listened.
When we got to the holding cells, with all the failures inside. It must be pretty busy today, most of the cells were full.
Dinky was staring at the failures. Mortified.
"Why are they locked up?"
"They're failures."
"Will they all die?"
"Well. Yes. They're failures."
Her eye twitches.
"So...all of the living adult pegasi passed?"
"Well, yeah, duh."
I starting walking again, then i heard the sound of a weak punch and turned around in a flash.
Dinky elbowed the gaurd, then grabbed something and levitated it up, and then chucked it into a cell
The thing, just happened to be a key.
"UNLOCK YOURSELVES! BE FREE!"
That was followed by a quick punch to the head from one of the gaurds.
And Dinkys limp body falling to the ground.

When I got out the wagon I was a little bit shaky, but i forced myself to stay calm and put a happy face on.
I trotted to Dinkys door. She answered.
She didnt look much different. She was taller, she had her cutie mark now. Nothing much, really. Her cutie mark is a wrench, and a knife.
Maybe she is good at cooking and engineering. I wouldn't know.
"Hey!" She says. Her voice is a tad different. She has a scottish accent.
"Hey! I havent seen you in a while!" I forced a smile.
"So, where have you been for a year?" She asked, she was always curious.
"Well, i passed my flight test, got a job, It has good pay." I replied.
"A-Actually-" I didnt want a conversation. I wanted to get this done and over with.
"I have this invivation. From my work. Its like, a bring your friend to work day. I wanted to take you."
"What about Applebloom and Sweetiebelle?" Oh dear Celestia, i thought, why did she had to bring THEM up.
"Oh...uhm..Didn't you not hear the news? They....tragically died in a freak storm a few months ago."
This was my cover up. I've always hated the guts out of them, i was just too busy being bullied by AppleBloom to notice that i hated Sweetie as well. Applebloom used to beat me black and blue every time Sweetie wasnt about. And Sweetie was too idiotic to notice, always ignoring the cuts and bruises and just saying "Oh Scoots, stop being so clumsy!".
Always not trusting me, her old best friend. Me, who was then the third wheel. I killed them. I killed them both with my bare hooves. So filled with rage i didnt actually think. Dash helped me with the cover up and the burning of the bodies. They're gone. Its my doing. They're gone.
"Oh..." She answered.
"Im...sorry to hear that."
Of course you are. Everyone was.
"Oh...its alright..im okay..... Soo... Will you come?"
I used my 'loss' to my advantage. She would say yes. She doesn't want to feel guilty.
"Sure! I'll come."
"It starts tomorrow. Heres the invitation." I passed it to her. She took it.
"Cya Scoot!"
I smiled. "Cya!"
I walked off around the corner to where the wagon was, I opened the door and laid down.
What was i thinking. How could i do this. WHY would i do this?
A million different thoughts raced through my head. I know i'd have to answer them somewhen. But for now, i will just lay my head down
and sleep.
And thats exactly what i did.

I got up early. I didnt exactly mean to get up early, it just happened.
Dinky arrives at twenty past ten. Early. Shes wearing cloud walking boots.
I welcome her in through the main corporation lobby. She doesn't seem amazed like i was.
But she seems... Impressed.
I walk her through the rest of the wings of the factory.
Shes intrigued. When we get to the Factory, my Factory, The Rainbow Factory, i push open the double doors.
"And this... is where I work!" i say, in a sing-song voice.
"Cool." she uttered. The Factories lobby is very grand. Its like a desguise.
I trotted inside, waved hello to the receptionist, and lead dinky up a staircase and along a corridoor to the dorms.
I showed her my dorm, she looked pretty bored.
"Like it?"
"Um..Yeah. Its cool. I like the color of the walls."
The color of my walls was white. Nothing original.
"Okay. Thanks. Wait a second, i just need to go find one of my supirors."
She shrugged. "Kay.".
I walked out and got halfway down the hall before i heard someponies hoofsteps and turned around.
It was Dashie.
"Its time. You know what to do. Just show her the controll panel first, but put it on visitor mode. Teach her a few buttons. When the gaurds come in thats your chance to switch it out of visitor mode, then the panel will turn off and she'll see what its really like."
"Got it."
I started to trot away.
"And Squirt?"
"Yes Dashie?"
"If you get this one in the bag, im sure you'll get a promotion."
I smiled at the thought of rising up in the ranks.
"Awesome! Alrighty Dash. I'll Cya tonight."
"Cya Squirt."
We both walked off.
