A colt arrested and tried for espionage is sent off to the front at staliongrad.
In 1942 during WWII, Iban, a farmer that was accused of espionage due to connections with a American officer was turned over by his mother to authority's and awaits his doomed sentence.
Damned to his fate, he writes a letter every 2 days to his younger brother Rurik. Iban goes from prison to the front and witnesses the horrors of war. During these times he witnesses the faces of war and the damned and departed of war. However, in war, all but a silver lining can be enough for one to make it through it all, or be ones downfall.
