Years had passed since the Equestrian Exiles were exiled from their homes by a corrupt Queen and a manipulative secret organization to a set of secluded islands in a region so dangerous that even the bravest would not dare to visit. It is there that they learned dark and ancient secrets as they strove to survive, from clockwork machinations to sea creatures of old, they braved the dangers of the Southern Isles and grew. With time, they changed to warped creatures of darkness, bred for war, born to shadows, and tempered in the flames of the hell that were the islands.
