Princess Twilight Sparkle, ruler of Equestria, sat in her book fort. Her expertise on architecture was superior overall. It was truly glorious. Built with the biggest books for impregnability. The coloring book section of her grand castle contained only the finest coloring books for entertainment.
"Princess? Where art thou?" A familiar voice rang from outside the fortress's protective walls. "I must speak with you!"
Twilight huffed. "On what grounds!"
"On the grounds that I, the captain of your guard, want in!" The captain said.
"How do I know you're not some evil dragon thingy, Captain Shining Armor?" She said, a glint of suspicion decorated her speech.
Shining Armor, Captain of the guard, who may or may not be an evil dragon, peered into the book fort.
"You can try to get in, but you will find that my fort of super amazement is im... imp..." The word slipped her mind, she sounded off the nearest word to it. "My fort of super amazement is pregnant! And you don't get to come in!"
Shining Armor stifled his laughter. "And why is that?"
"Because you're a big mean dragon! I bet your even red and black! All mean dragons are red and black!" She told him through the walls of her inner sanctum.
"Oh yeah? Well what if I did this?" He asked, pulling a book from the castle's foundation. Causing the once grand fortress to crash down into a pile of literature.
Princess Twilight Sparkle removed herself from the large pile of books. She let out a gasp and looked at her totally real wings. What makes them real? Well she sat up all night coloring them! Hard work equals reality, right? Twilight could only assume. They were crumpled.
"Hey! You big butt! You broke my wings!" She cried.
"Oh ho ho, my dear! That only means I have thwarted you once more! Prepare to be eaten!" He said, letting out his best imitation of a fire breath dragon.
"Ah!" Twilight cried, sprinting down the hallway her once-impregnable castle was placed on. T'was a fine land before the evil dragon appeared, but now the land of hallwayia will never be the same!
Shining Armor was now Shining Dragon! Though his scales were invisible and he bared the look of a marshmallow colt, he was still deadly, and still breathed fire. Twilight paused a moment to get a feel for her surroundings. She was at the end of the hallway, to the left was the kitchen doorway. To the right was the living room doorway accompanied by the staircase that lead promptly to the upstairs bathroom and her royal highness's bed room.
She spun around to find the dragon decreasing the ground between them, speeding towards her closer and closer. She yelped and sprinted to the right and up the stairs. Her ex-guard was now at the bottom of the stairs, but not for too long! He began clearing the steps like nothing.
"No! You stay down there! I am your princess, so you're supposed to do what I say!" She said, catching her breath at the top.
He let out a chortle. "I don't think so, Princess Twilight! You shall be my slave!" He made another roar before resuming his treacherous climb up the stairs. Twilight speed down the hallway and hid in the bathroom. She sat in silence for what felt like forever. In all honesty it was only a half minute but she didn't care. Forever is forever no matter the time! She was about to emerge when she heard hoof steps from outside the door, treading the hallway. It slowed by the bathroom door and stopped completely. She stood back from the door and bit her lip, was this it? Was she really going to be eaten? What if her brother was serious?! She screamed and flew out the bathroom like a speeding bullet, knocking her farther down in the process. She fled to her room and took as many books as possible from the shelves that neatly decorated the lower walls of her humble abode. She stacked them to make a rather tall wall covering a section of her room. She made a fortress inside the walls and practiced the use of her magic just in case she needed to chuck a book or two at high velocity.
She sat in her fort in silence, patiently waiting for the door to creak open. Several one-second moments passed. The princess was crafty though, she luckily managed to grab a few coloring books from the wreckage of her former fort that was estimated by the evil dragon. She flipped one open and landed on a picture of a white mare with a beautiful mane. She had a sun for her cutie mark and was rather tall. She was just about to get a grip on her crayons when something hit her.
"Blast! I forgot the crayons!" She looked over the walls of her fort. There was the twelve pack of crayons in all of its glory. Blue, Green, Red, you name it, it had it. All except for cerulean blue, light yellow, marshmallow white, rosy pink, and orange for some reason.
Suddenly, the dragon burst into the room with a malicious glare. His side kick, the evil foal sitter, was right behind him. As he stared Twilight down with every intention to attempt to eat her, the foal sitter just stared at him with a weird look in her eye. Something like a happy look mixed with the 'I ate too many spicy bell peppers and now my mouth is on fire, but not enough to show it' look.
He made his way to Twilight, creeping closer and closer to her pregnant book fort version 2, as she named it. Finally, Twilight remembered something. Her book cannon! She concentrated on a nearby book. Her horn flickering with the attempt of use. She concentrated harder, nothing.
Rolling her eyes, she went to plan B. She picked up the book and chucked it as hard as possible at the evil dragon.
"Bulls eye!" The now victorious princess triumphantly cried. Her artillery made a clean shot to his forehead.
He stumbled back a little, his not-so-evil, foal sitting sidekick rushed to his aid. "Ow! Not so rough Twily!" He told her.
She gave an awkward smile. "Sorry BBBFF"
He smiled, still rubbing his head, and embraced her. "It's alright "LSBFF."
Cadence watched from afar. Well, as for as three feet could be accounted for. She gave a smile at the hugging siblings.
They all broke out in uncontrollable laughter when Twilight hit her brother in the head with a book again.
