Section VI: Apocalypse

Blood.

Death.

Screaming.

This was Earth.

I remember now.

That day was the day the world ended. The planets core was unstable. It had been for the past few years. Anarchy was erupting worldwide; why should anyone follow the rules if the world was going to hell? I remember sitting there, waiting for either the psychotic murderers to find and kill me, or for the world to kill us all. I was never sleeping. I was never working. I was never doing anything. All I did was sit and wait. I left everything behind. I watched as my house was reduced to ash. I watched as everything I owned turned to nothing.

And all I did was sit, and watch everyone die. Everyone I loved being killed horribly.

And when I thought it was all over, a portal appeared from nowhere. It beckoned me inside. And I followed the call. I remember taking one last look at Earth…and suddenly the portal view collapsed on itself. It was at that time I knew;

It wasn’t a random supernova Twilight had detected four weeks ago. It was a planet full of life, full of “aliens” to her. It was Earth.

For me, there was no “home”.

For me, there was no planet to call my own.

My species was extinct.
