The Countess of Eternity's Crossing

Chapter 1

Luner Island, Eternity's Crossing

"You know what happens on Luner Island, Rainbow! Nopony can land here without explicit permission from Princess Celestia!" Twilight Sparkle cautioned as the tiny rowboat neared the island. "There's a reason to! Luna was banished here for-"

"Yeah, Twi, I get it. But I don't think Captain Colegate can hold out much longer. She's getting worse by the minute." Rainbow Dash interupted Twilight's monologue and motioned to the third dark blue passenger in the dingey. "And if she's gonna die, I want her to die warm and safe in Maretonia. Besides, we have you, Celestia's prodigy. We'll be fine." Rainbow said as she eased the boat onto shore. Captain Colegate shuddered as a cool breeze blew over the beach. A patrol was already walking down the beach.

"HEY! OVER HERE!" Twilight Sparkle shouted to the coming patrol. She was immediately met with a mixture of gunfire and arcane bolts of energy. She fired back a few bolts before Rainbow Dash pulled her back.

"What do you think you're doing?!"

"Protecting myself, you, and Captain Colegate."

"Well, now that they know we're armed, our chances of being helped have just greatly decreased."

"All right, Dashie. But we're in a fight now.I'll let you chew me out later. Okey?"

"Alright. Let's try to reason thing's out and try not to die in the meantime. Let's go."

Rainbow Dash took out her pistol and Twilight unsheathed her sword and readied her horn. Then it began. At first, Twilight and Dashie held their ground, shooting those who tried to harm them and their sick compatriart. But the tables rapidly turned. The ponies on patrol had better weapons, and simply overpowered them with brute force. The two mares had to leave the boat, and began to climb a nearby hill in hopes of getting a leg up in the shootout. Just then, a bullet tore through Dashie's wing.

"Gah!" she cried, the intense pain of the wound creeping into her subconsious. Another patrol pony grabbed Twilight's legs, pulling her back down the mound of dirt. A quick shot at the assailent stopped Twi's falling. Scrambling at the top of the hill, Dash hit her head on something. Hard. She and Twilight looked up, and into the unforgiving eyes of Princess Luna.
