Chapter 1 - I Can't Take It Anymore!
Chapter 1
I Can't Take It Anymore!
Five months had passed since the battle with Resnoff, and life in Ponyville was peaceful. The town’s citizens had been going about their peaceful lives. No one had to live in fear wondering when they would be attacked, they could just live easy. Since nearly loosing Spike for ever, Twilight Sparkle had been even more considerate to him than she normally would, not to say she never was. The apple family had become even closer to each other as well. If any soul were to visit, the family would be together in the living room most of the time talking, playing board games, or some activity; along with keeping up with their chores. Pinkie Pie’s hyper behavior seemed to have increased quite a bit over the past five months. At times she would become a little obnoxious. Fluttershy hadn’t gone through much of any changes, besides being more cautious around a nest of hornets that had recently appeared on the front of her house. To enter and exit the home, one would have to move very slowly to seek pass them. Apple Jack had offered to remove it, but Fluttershy’s love for animals kept her from doing so. Rainbow Dash had been living life more to the fullest since dying and then coming back to life. Only, her way of living life to the fullest was just continuing her habits of taking naps in trees and on clouds, or doing tricks in her free time. From time to time, she would get a small amount of time with Rugia, but for the past two months he had been very busy working. Speaking of which, Rarity’s business was booming ever since she brought Rugia on board to be her business partner. Life for everyone was wonderful… Well, almost everyone.
For two months, Rarity had let her booming business go to her head and had Rugia working over time every day instead of Monday through Friday. For a while Rugia was fine with it, but after two months it was starting to work his nerves. He barely gets anytime with his wife or to himself, and no time to hang out with the others. Rugia had tried to talk to her about the situation, but she was apparently to busy. It got to the point where Rugia was loosing patience and was on the verge of loosing his mind.
________________________________________________________________________
It was Saturday night and Rugia had just got off work later than usual from being left to deal with some last minute costumers, while Rarity had to keep up with her beauty sleep. Rugia’s patience had finally worn out, he had had enough. He didn’t care what the consequences were, it was time for a vacation, permission or not. But Rugia wasn’t going to go by himself, he had to take someone with him. The only question was who would he take? Candace was away on a business trip, Fluttershy had animals to attend to, Pinkie Pie would be too rowdy for a relaxing vacation, Apple Jack had chores, Twilight was always knee deep in her studies, and Rarity was the one he was trying to get away from. They only pony he could think of that he would rather spend a few days with was Rainbow Dash. Rugia decided that Rainbow Dash would be the one he would take with him. For a long time he had been wanting to get some time with her, but couldn’t because of his job. Rugia didn’t want to spend another day at the Carousel Boutique, he wanted to leave first thing in the morning. But the only problem was that Rainbow Dash was already asleep. But still Rugia took flight and headed for Rainbow’s cloud mansion.
Inside Rainbow Dash’s home it was dark, as it would be at the dead of night. Rainbow Dash was sound asleep in her bed when she felt something tapping her shoulder. She nudged a little and tried to ignore it but it tapped her again. When she opened her eye’s she saw a dark figure sticking halfway up through her floor.
“WAAAAAAGH!” she creamed as she fell off her bed backwards and landed upside down and her floor.
Getting back up and peeking over her bed she could see that the figure was Rugia. She was unsure whether to be happy to see him, or angry for sneaking up on her like he did.
“What’s the big idea Rugia!?” she demanded, “Why are you up here trying to give me a heart-attack?”
“I can’t take it anymore.” he replied.
“What are you talking about?” Rainbow yawned.
“Rarity is driving me nuts!” he said, “I haven’t had a single day off in months!”
“Oh,” she yawned again, “that’s a shame. I’m sorry about your hernia Rugia.”
Rainbow Dash fell back to sleep and started snoring. She didn’t hear a single word Rugia had said. Rugia grew frustrated and disappeared through Rainbow’s floor and came back a few minutes later with a bucket of cold water. Rugia dumped the whole thing on Rainbow Dash and she gasped loudly. She jumped off her bed shivering and looking at Rugia with an angry expression on her soaked face.
“What the hay, Rugia!?” she shouted, “Why did you do that!?”
“To see if you would melt.” he replied with exaggeration in his tone.
“What is so important that made you have to dump ice cold water on me?” she demanded.
“I’m going on vacation,” he said, “and I want to take you with me.”
Rainbow Dash forgot her anger and was then confused by Rugia’s reply.
“Your going on vacation?” she said, “And you want me to go with you?”
“That’s right.” he replied.
“Just the two of us?” she asked, “No one else, right?”
“You got it.” he said.
“Awesome!” Rainbow exclaimed, “Finally we get have some time to hang out! It feels like it has been for ever! Wait a minute. Does Rarity know you are going on vacation?”
“Nope.” Rugia answered.
“Your going to keep this a secret from her aren’t you?” Rainbow asked with a smirk.
“Yup.” Rugia replied.
“Ok you can stop talking like Big Mac.” Rainbow said and Rugia let out a small chuckle.
“For this vacation,” Rugia said, “your going to need to pack enough supplies for five days.”
“Alright,” said Rainbow Dash, “So what are we doing?”
“We’ll my fine feathered friend,” Rugia said, “we are going camping.”
Camping? Rainbow Dash knew Rugia wanted to go on a vacation with her, but didn’t expect it to be camping. Rugia didn’t seem like the type to want to go camping, and it seemed boring to her. But this was the only chance she would get to have some long awaited time with her friend, so reluctantly she agreed to go.
“Camping it is then.” she said with little enthusiasm.
“If you don’t want to go Dash I could probably beg Twilight to go.” Rugia replied, “It won’t upset me any.”
“I’m sorry Rugia,” Rainbow said, “I really want to go with you. I may not get another chance like this. Besides, when I think about, everything is fun with you around.”
“Except when it comes to working for the Fusspot Of Fashion.” Rugia said referring to Rarity.
“That’s true.” Rainbow said, “But I won’t say that to Rarity.”
“I’ve called her other things.” Rugia said.
“You actually called her a name!?” Rainbow exclaimed.
“Yes I did.” Rugia replied with disappointment in his voice, “Yesterday she called me a lazy oaf for just taking a five minute break. So I got a little angry with her and lost my temper with her. I think she’s pretty upset with me.”
“What did you call her?” Rainbow asked kind of wishing she hadn’t at the same time.
“She started in on me saying how I don’t work hard enough and I’m lazy, stuff like that.” Rugia continued, “Regrettably, out of anger with her I jumped to my feet and called her a whining, fat little dwarf and told her to shut her mouth before I ripped the hair out of her head.”
“Wow,” Rainbow replied shocked, “that was mean Rugia. She must have pushed you really hard for you to say something like that to her.”
“She didn’t take it well either.” Rugia said with depression in his tone, “It got worse from there, she called me a vicious monster and I threw the tape measure and hit her in the head with it. It was the dumbest thing I could have done in response to her. I just proofed her point and hurt her feelings at the same time. She started crying after that, and told me just to go home and come in the next day very early, again. She hasn’t spoken to me since yesterday. Rarity is my friend and I was just… so cruel to her. I should have responded differently to her.”
“So do think you should try to talk to her tomorrow,” Rainbow asked, “before you run off on a vacation?”
“Rainbow Dash if I am not going to do anything but go on a vacation for next five days,” Rugia said, “I’ll give her some time to feel like talking to me.”
“Won’t she know your missing if you don’t show up tomorrow?” Rainbow Dash asked Rugia.
“I have a plan for that,” Rugia said, “You just pack your things and be at my house a five in the morning, ok?”
“Alright.” Rainbow replied.
Rugia bid her goodnight and disappeared through her floor. Rainbow Dash went to her living room and slept on her couch, seeing how Rugia had drenched her bed with water.
________________________________________________________________________
The next morning Rainbow Dash arrived at Rugia’s house as requested. She knocked on the door and he answered immediately. He led Rainbow Dash to the living room and she hopped on the couch to wait for him to finish tending to Arckamedes, his pet bird. Rugia set his bags in front of the doorway and turned to Rainbow Dash to discuss his plan.
“Ok,” he said, “I was up all night on this. So here’s the plan; so no one knows we are really gone, I made robotic doubles of us to take our place while we are gone.”
Rugia walked to the door leading to his lab and opened it. A robotic copy of Rugia came walking out of the lab with a permanent smile on its face.
“Say hello to Dummy Rugia.” Rugia said in a yawn, the long hours at Rarity’s had been hard on him.
“Hello Rainbow Dash,” the double said, “Have you seen Rainbow Dash? She has a mane that’s as ugly as yours.”
“Is this thing supposed to be insulting?” Rainbow asked annoyed with Rugia’s double which started walking around the room.
“I accidentally used a computer chip that only has twenty gigs on it.” Rugia said, “So he’s not too bright.”
“Isaac Newton did not invent the light bulb.” the robot said, “I was actually Charles Washington.”
“You didn’t build it like the sentries?” Rainbow asked watching Rugia’s double spin it’s arms.
“It would have taken too long.” Rugia replied, “besides I don’t need another me around here anyway.”
“Einstein’s theory of relativity states that gravy comes from cows.” the robot said turning its torso in a complete 360.
Rainbow and Rugia stared at the robot oddly for a few moments before returning to their conversation.
“So where is my double?” Rainbow Dash asked Rugia.
Before Rugia could answer, a loud thumping noise came from the other side of the wall that didn’t stop. Rugia opened the door to see the Rainbow Dash robot constantly bumping into the same wall over and over again. Rugia watched it run into the wall a few more times before it realized the door was next to it. The robot came into the room making the sound of a RC car as it went.
“It moves on wheels?” Rainbow asked with an eyebrow raised.
“I was running out of time,” Rugia said, “so it’s legs don’t move.”
“Hello everypony!” the robot exclaimed, “I’m Rainbow Dash, and I am a rainbow colored wuss!”
“Rainbow, I swear it’s not supposed to say that.” Rugia said looking at Rainbow’s angry expression.
“Did you know there are no negative repercussions for putting nitroglycerin in the microwave?” the Rugia robot blurted as it walked by and stood by Rainbow. “If you believe everything I have said so far you are smarter than I am.”
“This is not going to work Rugia.” Rainbow said.
“Of course it will,” Rugia replied, “They’ll just think there is something wrong with us.”
“I can fly!” the Rainbow Dash robot exclaimed as its wings buzzed like a plane’s propelor.
The wings buzzed for a few seconds before the robot fell over and started giggling.
“Ha ha ha ha that was fun!” it exclaimed with its wings still fluttering which caused it to bounce around on the floor.
“Great!” Rainbow Dash shouted, “It can’t walk, it can’t even fly, and it’s an idiot!”
“Relates a lot to you doesn’t it Dashie?” Rugia said with a smirk.
Rainbow Dash shot Rugia a dirty look as the robot started spinning on the floor.
“Don’t worry Rainbow,” Rugia said, “it can fly, its got a thruster on it.”
“Where is it?” she asked puzzled.
“I have gas!” the Rainbow clone shouted as fire shot out its rear and it took off through the living room and crashed through the window.
“Wait for me Rainbow Dash!” the Rugia robot said firing its feet thrusters and flew out the window after its friend.
“You put the thruster in its butt!?” Rainbow exclaimed.
“I had to make it conspicuous.” Rugia defended as he grabbed his bags, “Since they have started their day we can hit the road.”
Before Rainbow could say anything else, Rugia slaped her saddle bags on her and dashed out the door with his bags in hand. Rainbow Dash came out of the house to see Rugia watching his double flying circles in the air and the Rainbow Dash double stuck in a tree with its thruster still going. Rainbow Dash gave Rugia another look of uncertainty, but he ignored her and went about his way and she followed.
Camping With Rainbow Dash
Chapter 2 - There is More to The Story
Chapter 2
There Is More To The Story
Before entering the forest, Rugia and Rainbow Dash watched as the Rainbow double rocketed over their heads and headed for town. They watched it scrap a roof before disappearing into the distance. Rainbow kept trying to tell Rugia that this plan of leaving a couple of robots behind so they could go on vacation wasn’t going to work. Sadly, Rugia’s bullheadedness had the better of him and he paid no heed to Rainbow Dash. It seemed his mind was on something else. Rainbow could see something was bothering Rugia, and it worried her, but she wanted to wait until they found a place to camp before finding out what it was. As they walked through the peaceful forest, the sunrise began to come through the trees signifying that dawn was approaching.
________________________________________________________________________
At some point in the day nine o’clock a.m. rolled around and Rarity had been waiting for Rugia to show up since six in the morning. She was beginning to wonder if he was going to ever show up. But then the door opened and he came walking in, or his double did anyway.
“There you are Rugia,” Rarity said, “where ever have you been?”
“I was tired,” the robot replied, “so I accidentally slept in. I shall get to work now.”
The robot walked to its work station and sat down and began working right away in a similar manor to its creator. Rarity noticed that Rugia was acting strangely today. It was probably over what had happened between them two days ago. Which reminded her that she really wanted to talk to him about that.
“Hey look,” the Rugia dummy exclaimed holding up what it had finished, “it’s a leotard!”
Rarity eyed the garment with a sense of uneasiness. Rugia never just up and made random garments, he always made dressed like he was supposed to. But she left the thought alone and tried to talk to him.
“Rugia,” Rarity said calmly, “I need to talk to about what happened two days ago.”
The robot didn’t respond, it was busy working on its next project.
“Rugia didn’t you hear me?” she asked trying to get some acknowledgement.
The robot continued to ignore her and got up to get more supplies. Rarity began to think that Rugia was very angry with her and wasn’t ever going to talk to her at all today. She watched him move around the room looking for something to use. He soon came back to his work station dragging the garbage can behind him.
“What ever are going to do with my garbage can?” Rarity asked worried about Rugia’s odd behavior.
Again the robot ignored her and started digging into the garbage observing its contents. It was clear to Rarity that Rugia was not going to say anything to her anytime soon. Rarity slowly walked away and started work on her current project as well. However, she couldn’t stay focused on her work. She really wanted to talk to Rugia about what had happened the other day. So she tried again to get a conversation with what she thought was Rugia.
“Please Rugia,” she said, “I really must speak with you about the other day.”
“Sorry Rarity,” the robot Rugia replied, “I am working right now and there for cannot talk with you right now.”
“Oh… I see.” Rarity said turning away from him slowly and back to her work.
Even though he was polite about it, Rarity’s heart still sank into sadness. Rugia was mad at her and she knew it, but his behavior was hurting her feelings. A tear slowly made its way down her cheek as she began to believe that one of her closest friends wasn’t going to speak to her as a friend ever again.

Elsewhere, the real Rugia was hiking across a log over a river with Rainbow Dash following close behind him. Halfway across the log the two looked out over the horizon in which the river was headed. Past the waterfall was a beautiful little valley that would make the perfect camping spot. It had a good sized lake for fishing an swimming, and plenty of flat areas for setting up a camp site. Rugia and Dash agreed that the area would be the perfect spot for camping. Neither of them flew to it, what was the rush anyway? They climbed down the hillside next the water fall, of course Rainbow Dash was on Rugia’s back though. She could have flown down, but would rather stick with her friend. Three quarters of the way down Rugia jumped from the rock wall and landed on the ground. Rainbow hopped off his back and looked around at the scenery before her. The valley was even more beautiful up close.
“lets see if this works as well as I think it will.” Rugia suddenly said squatting next to Rainbow and stretching his arm out to her, “Push my hand down please.”
Rainbow pushed his hand down on Rugia’s hand and a loud flatulent emitted from his backside and echoed across the land. A flock of birds took flight and left the area. Rainbow Dash watched the birds disappear in the distance.
“Ha!” Rugia exclaimed, “It worked even better than I thought! I’ll try a belch next time!”
“That was just disgusting Rugia.” Rainbow said, “But at the same time it was kind of funny.”
Rugia hopped on top of a rock and looked around the area, searching for a spot to set up camp.
“Hey Dash,” Rugia said turning to his multi-colored friend, “why don’t you pick the camping spot?”
“Um, ok…” Rainbow Dash looked around for a few moments, “How about over there under that oak tree?”
“Looks like a very nice place to have a camp site.” Rugia agreed leaping from the rock he was on and walked towards the site of Rainbow’s choice.
Rainbow trotted up next him and they made their way to the large oak tree that Rainbow pointed out. As they walked to their site, Rainbow couldn’t help but notice something was bothering Rugia. The look on Rugia’s face gave her the feeling he was still thinking about what happened between him and Rarity. Rainbow got the impression that he had not told her the whole story. However, she was unsure whether she should ask him to tell the full story or not. When they came to their destination, Rugia took his pack off his back and began unpacking the tent. Rainbow slid out of her saddle bags and proceeded to help with the tent in any way she could. When it was finished, the tent was in the shape of a dome rather than the traditional triangle. Rugia secured the tent and asked Rainbow Dash to find decent number of rocks to form a circle for their fire. While Rainbow looked for rocks, Rugia headed back into the trees to find some twigs and branches that could be used for fire wood. When he returned, Rainbow Dash had already put the rocks in their places. This didn’t surprise Rugia, Rainbow Dash was generally fast at completing a task. Countless times of watching her clear a cloudy sky was proof of that.
Eleven AM came around, the camp was finished and Rugia and Rainbow Dash had settled down in the tent for a well deserved nap. However, Rainbow still had her concerns about her odd friend.
“You didn’t tell me the whole story did you Rugia?” She asked looking at him with concern. “What all really happened between you and Rarity?”
Rugia hesitated to respond, but decided it would be best to tell her about it now so they could have an easier time enjoying their vacation.
“I guess I might as well get it off my chest.” he sighed, “Well Rainbow, this is what had happened…”
________________________________________________________________________
Saturday, 7:40 pm
Rugia sat at his desk at the Carousel Boutique working furiously on a dress ordered by Fancy Pants, for his wife. Rugia had been working non-stop to finish it for four hours with out a break and had only finished a quarter of it. Aside from being frustrated with being handed a very detailed project, he was at wits end with Rarity. The white mare, who was one of his closest friends, had been working him and his patience to the bone ever since her store became the one place every pony in Canterlot and Ponyville wanted to shop at. He had been trying his hardest to be patient with her, in hopes that she would realize that she was warring him out and would give him a few days off. But due to fame getting to his unicorn friend’s head, the break he was hoping for never came to him.
Rugia’s hand began to grow tired from working on the silver flowers for the dress that lay before him. He couldn’t continue sewing, he had to put the needle down to rest a few minutes. He flexed his hand to loosen his tightened, cramped muscles. He laid back in his chair and just looked at the ceiling. He felt like sleeping, and almost did if Rarity hadn’t came back from getting more materials from her back closet.
“Are you sleeping on the job!?” Rarity demanded.
“I’m about to.” Rugia replied, his frustration rising.
“Rugia,” Rarity said, “you will have plenty of time to sleep when you finish Fancy Pants’ order. It looks like your about finished.”
“Yeah, great Rarity,” Rugia huffed in exaggeration as he waved his arms over his head. “I’m so excited about the fact I’ll get to sleep tomorrow night!”
“Oh come now Rugia,” Rarity said rolling her eyes it won’t take you that long to finish it.”
“Have you seen this thing’s design Rarity!?” Rugia exclaimed, a little unhappier with her than he already was. “If I keep working on this thing I won’t have it finished until three in the morning! It wouldn’t do me any good to go home and get any rest because you want me to be in here at four in the morning! I am exhausted Rarity, need a break from this dress. I want to go home and get some time with my wife before I go to bed. The only thing I get to say to her after I get off work is ‘good night’ and that’s it.”
“Rugia I promise,” Rarity said with a smile, “I’ll give you the day off tomorrow to spend time with Candace.”
“Oh like I haven’t heard that lie before!” Rugia shouted.
“What ever do you mean darling?” Rarity asked confused.
“You did this nine times!” he growled, “How can you forget? Every time you have said you would give me a break, you turn around and put me on another large project!”
“I really mean it this time Rugia.” Rarity retaliated.
“No Rarity, you don’t.” Rugia said bluntly to Rarity. “I can’t keep doing this Rarity. I need a break. I need some time with Candace, she leaves for a business trip tomorrow and won’t be back until Friday. I need to spend time with her tonight.”
“Can you at least work on it until eight thirty?” Rarity asked sincerely.
“I am exhausted Rarity,” Rugia snapped, “I haven’t had a night off in two months. I would appreciate it if you would let me go home tonight.”
“Why are you choosing to be lazy on one of the biggest projects for us Rugia?” Rarity said impatiently.
Rugia was now very angry with Rarity. Her obsession with her new found fame had gone too far. Out of anger, Rugia slammed his fist on the table startling Rarity.
“How dare you call me lazy when all you have done is hand me the materials for this dress!” Rugia shouted at her. “And another thing, you don’t even work on these important projects anymore! You just hand them to me and let me do all the work while you work on the small stuff! If I would have known I was working for a slave driver, I would have quit before it got out of hand!”
“Rugia I… I didn’t know I was over working you.” Rarity said.
“Of course you didn’t,” Rugia shouted, “YOU NEVER BOTHERED TO ASK!”
“Rugia please don’t yell,” Rarity said, “why didn’t you say something?”
“I TRIED TO!” he shouted louder this time, “BUT THE ONLY RESPONSE I GOT EVERY TIME WAS ‘I’m sorry Rugia I can’t talk right know, I’M BUSY!’ You were so busy letting the fame of your store get to your head, you didn’t pay attention to anything else. I’m going home to my wife, and I don’t want to hear any more out of you.”
Rugia turned to his desk and began packing his tools into his bag. Rarity had also grown flustered with Rugia, and was letting he frustration get to her as well.
“I can’t believe Candace married such an insensitive monster.” Rarity huffed.
Rugia’s anger shot up, and the next thing he knew he had thrown the tape measure in his hand directly at Rarity. The tape measure had smacked her in the head above her right eye. Rarity gasped and stumbled back, holding a hoof to her head. Rugia’s heart wanted to apologize to her but his mind came up with something else.
“I’m done!” he shouted, “I’M DONE BEING FRIENDS WITH THE LIKES OF SOME WORTHLESS, UGLY, OLD MULE! Starting tomorrow, you are just my co-worker and nothing more.”
Rugia lifted his bag from his desk and left Rarity all alone.
________________________________________________________________________
“Rainbow,” Rugia said glumly, “I feel horrible about the way I treated Rarity. Rarity is my friend, and I threw a tape measure at her head.”
“It was a lot worse than what you said at my house.” Rainbow said looking at the mattress they were both sitting on, “So what are you going to do?”
“When I get back to Ponyville on Friday,” Rugia said laying back on the mattress, “I won’t waste any time setting things right with Rarity. But until that time comes, lets get some sleep and start enjoying our vacation.”
Rugia pulled the covers up over them both and slowly he and Dash drifted to sleep.
Camping With Rainbow Dash
Chapter 3 - Monday, It Starts
Chapter 3
Monday: It Starts
Rainbow Dash woke up to find Rugia outside the tent preparing breakfast. Rainbow climbed out from under the covers and stretched. She let out a soft yawn as she did. Rainbow slowly emerged from the tent and walked over next to Rugia and sat down.
“Morning Dash,” Rugia said shuffling the skillet of eggs around, “did you sleep well?”
“Yeah,” Rainbow yawned, “did you sleep ok?”
“Best night of sleep I’ve had in two months.” Rugia said as the toaster dinged and some toast came out of the slits.
Rainbow Dash had seen a toaster plenty of times before now, but never had she seen one that operated without a power cable. As curious as she was about how it was able to work that way, she was still a little drowsy and didn’t really feel like asking Rugia how it functioned without a cable, or why he brought the thing in the first place. She just sat and watched Rugia desperately try to turn the toaster off as it began firing off rounds of toast like a Gatling gun. When he finally turned it off, toast had been flung everywhere. Some of it had landed in the lake, and some of it landed in the camp fire and burst into flames.
Rugia chuckled uneasily at the drowsy Rainbow Dash and said, “It’s a prototype, I still need to work the glitches out of it.”
“I guess its supposed to create it’s own toast.” Rainbow Dash said watching a slice of toast burn up in the fire.
“Yeah,” Rugia said eyeing the toaster carefully as he set it down, “But it tends to over load itself and create toast continuously.”
As soon as Rugia set the toaster down, another piece of toast shot out of the toaster and smacked him in the forehead, causing him to fall backwards off the log he was sitting on from the surprise. Rugia quickly crouched behind the log, waiting for the toaster to start launching toast again. The toaster jumped and Rugia quickly grabbed the nearest stick and knocked the toaster over with it. He held his position waiting for it move again. Rainbow Dash couldn’t help but giggle at Rugia’s reaction to the dysfunctional toaster. Rugia paid no heed to her and continued to stalk his nemesis. The toaster shook violently and opened fire with a storm of toast flying in every direction.
“Take cover!” Rugia shouted as he covered his head and hid behind the log.
Rainbow Dash began laughing until a dozen slices of toast pelted her in the face knocking her over. Rugia started laughing at Rainbow and he got nailed in the head by a piece of toast himself and scrambled to hide behind the log again.
“Why did I ever think it was a good idea to invent the evil toaster from hell?!” he asked himself aloud as toast sailed over him.
Rainbow Dash crawled as quickly as she could behind a boulder and peeked around it to watch the toast fly. Rugia ran at the toaster as quickly as possible and football-kicked it into the air. The rouge machine sailed through the air continuing to blast toast in all directions as it flew. The toaster disappeared into the trees and wasn’t seen again.
“Take that you factory recall!” Rugia shouted at the toasters flight direction while shaking his fist, “Labor saving my butt!”
“Well at least we have enough toast to last us the rest of the week.” Rainbow said as she snagged a piece of toast off of the boulder she was hiding behind and began eating it.
Rugia shrugged and sat down on the log. Rugia grabbed two paper plates and dished out the eggs he had prepared. He handed one plate to Rainbow Dash who had already started on her second piece of ground toast. Rainbow didn’t waste any time consuming her share of breakfast. She was finished before Rugia was done with his first egg. As soon as she was finished she started eating more of the toast laying around the area.
“I wouldn’t do that Dash,” Rugia said watching Rainbow eat the toast on the ground, “for all you know some animal could have relieved itself there and you could be eating it.”
Rainbow Dash stopped dead in her tracks, mouth wide open preparing to eat another slice. After a moment she backed away from the toast slowly. Rainbow looked at the toast with disgust before turning and walking back over to Rugia and sat down next to him. Rugia finished up his breakfast and tossed the paper plates into a plastic bag and set it next to the log he was sitting on. Rugia watched the embers glowing in the fire as it burned. Rugia appeared to be in a much better mood than he was the day before, mainly because he finally got a full nights sleep. Rugia continued to stare at the fire as if he had a trance on him. To Dash’s surprise, Rugia put his hand in the fire. When he pulled his hand out of the fire, he had a large flame in his palm. Dash watched as the flame migrated to Rugia’s other hand and then back to it’s starting point.
“I didn’t know you could do that.” Dash said watching the flame split into two and form wrist bands on Rugia’s arms.
“Yeah…” Rugia paused as he shifted the flames to a single palm again, “I can control fire in a number of ways, as well as other elements like water, ice, earth, wind, and my primary element lightning.”
“So Rucans can control certain elements?” Dash asked a raised eyebrow.
“Actually,” Rugia replied, “it’s the Luquian side of me that can control elements.
“What are Luquians by the way?” Dash asked Rugia, “You mentioned them but never told any of us about them. Mainly because we needed to know more about a race that was going to destroy us in the blink of an eye.”
“The Luquians are a race of nobles.” Rugia began, “They resemble humans, but the only difference is, Luquians have skin whiter than snow and have tales similar to reptiles. The Luquians are capable of controlling elements like I can, but only one element. They have incredible strength, which makes them very difficult to fight unless you are a Luquian yourself, or a Rucan, or even someone like me. At one time the Luquians believed that all other races were inferior to them and would conquer other planets through martial arts tournaments. But that all changed when I defeated their emperor in a fight.”
“Did he try to take over your home world?” Rainbow asked.
“In a sense, yes.” Rugia said as he shifted the flame into a ribbon and made it dance around them, “Shatokahn wanted to use me to conquer Earth. He told my purpose was to be a weapon for him to use in conquering planets.”
“What do you mean?” Dash asked looking very concerned.
“Well Dash,” Rugia said, “I have three dads.”
Rugia snapped his fingers and the flame disintegrated, “Its complicated, Shatokahn wanted to create a being that had Rucan and Luquian DNA. However he did not have any success. So Shatokahn and the emperor of the Rucan home world, Genzai, came to earth to talk Charles R. Nelson, into help with the help with the creation of… well, me.”
“I know you said that Charles was your birth father,” Rainbow said, “by that, you mean he was the one who impregnated your mother, did the other two guys as well?”
“No,” Rugia replied with an uncomfortable expression, “With the help of science, Charles was able to combine the three DNA’s together.”
“Three?”
“Oh sorry, they found out that they required human DNA for a successful procedure. Anyway, Charles injected himself with the DNA he had combined.”
“How did that work if he put the DNA in his bloodstream?”
“Actually, he didn’t inject the DNA into his bloodstream.”
Rainbow Dash looked at Rugia with a confused expression.
“Don’t think about it too hard.” Rugia said looking into the fire.
Rainbow Dash gave a painful expression along with her realization, “I may be a female, but that makes me cringe just to think about it.”
“Yeah,” Rugia said as he cracked a smile, “Dad did the same thing when he first told me about it when I was nineteen. My mother hates to hear about it.”
“Is your mother human like Charles?” Rainbow asked.
“No she is a fox like my wife.” Rugia said.
“I would like to meet your parents sometime,” Rainbow said with a happy smile, “I would also like to meet your kids too. That is… if you ever tell them where you are. Do you miss them Rugia?”
“Every day.” Rugia said standing up and stretching, “Well, I think we should talk some more over a hike in the woods.”
As the two left the camp, Rugia activated a force field to keep the camp from being ravaged by wild animals. With safety precausions out of the way, set out for their hike.
Author’s note: Sorry for the long wait I was side tracked by a lot of things, so yeah here’s chapter three.
