Confessions of a Changeling
9/22/14;
Dear Diary,
I guess I should start and recall from what I know starting with the hive. I remember the hive very very well. The queen would use us as her toys and so many of my friends died in the invasion. The queen also killed the ones who were wounded. The slaughter of our green blood on the streets and in the center of the hive for this so called “treason” we didn’t commit. I had to hide myself because I have more magical properties then the queen herself. There are actually many different changelings and the colors match their magical properties. Most changelings’ magical colors change to match the queen’s orders within five minutes of birth no matter what color. If they have a higher magical output or if their color isn’t the color the queen ordered within the five minutes they die. My color has been purple from birth which is actually more powerful than the queens by tenfold. More powerful than the elements of harmony. I have to keep my power hidden or else they will find me, they WILL destroy me, that is why I escaped. I tried masking it with the standard blue but after the raid on Canterlot that will not fly anymore. I’m trying to hide myself with this disguise as a blue Pegasus named Sonic Rider. This magic is so powerful that every time I use it I get nosebleeds that make me light headed. I can’t be accepted here. I can’t reveal myself. I have to keep moving on. I have to live. I will be recording my events down in this diary. It will be dated instead of the whole "Dear diary" thing.
9/24/14: I made it to Ponyville; a small little town where multiple races live: Unicorns, Peagasi, Earthponys. I think I can stay here for a bit till everything dies down but since the invasion…no pony trusts a changeling. I was able to escape the blast that sent changelings out of Canterlot by putting up a shield of my own that counter-acted the blast of the spell but it completely drained me. I had to hide out for the rest of the day and move to here in Ponyville at night. It was about a one hour flight but I was so weak I flew half way and walked the rest. I had to find a place to spend the night but I don’t have enough magic to use the changing spell. I had to keep low and found an abandoned house next to a “Sugar Cube Corner” and it wasn’t the best house but hey beggars can’t be choosers. I was able to find some boxes outside the weird looking house store thing I have no idea what it is. I made it back to the abandoned house and laid down on the makeshift bed. It was defiantly better than sleeping on the dirt beds in the hive. I can’t explain the feeling…It felt comfortable? We weren’t allowed to feel comfort because it was a side effect of love (That’s what we are told in kindergarten).
9/25/14: I have nightmares at night. I think Luna might have cursed me for my crimes against pony kind to live out my sins nightly. I remember it clearly the cries of the damned like an eternal hell. It’s the same dream every night. Always the same Celestia damned dream. It would recap on the events of Canterlot. I would be standing there in the middle of the street looking as ponies are being chased up and down the streets while the queen is inside the castle fooling Shinning Amour into thinking he was marrying Cadence. I would be there letting the fillies and colts out of their homes and sucking the love right out of them and left them there pale. I would also suck the memories of a mom and dad out from them as I went in and killed their parents the pony blood on my hoofs. It felt so wrong but Celestia knows if I didn’t do it I wouldn’t be here today. I regretted it. Oh Luna did I regret it. I was in the wrong and should have done something but at least I held back on the children and not sucked the life right out of them. At least I wiped their memories of parents. Some Changelings in the army attack let the foals watch in horror others killed them. It was a damn massacre. Every night I’d wake up feeling I was in a pool of blood to find Celestia’s Sun shine down on me. I didn’t deserve it. I didn’t deserve to live. I should have died when the queen was rounding up all the Changelings who were guarding her and the ones on the attack itself to be tried and executed for high treason. I woke up on my cardboard bed cursing myself and cursing everything: cursing Luna for these dreams, cursing myself for running away like a coward, cursing Celestia’s mercy. There’s a unicorn here known as Twilight Sparkle. I could turn myself in. Tell her that I’m a changeling and deserve to die. The elements of harmony are here too. I got up. My head aching from the dream I had and the spell I use to hide myself. My mother, a unicorn, gave me a pendent as a foal to keep my magic stored into. She knew that if I removed it I had enough magical power to destroy half of Equestria and then some at the sacrifice of myself. My father was a changeling and mated with a unicorn. It was treason. He would’ve died but the queen made him an offer; His and my mother’s life for me to live in the hive. He accepted on the condition that I get to keep the pendant and my mother’s magic to be put in said pedant. The queen accepted and that’s why I’m alive. My father was the first one to love. The first changeling to love and he gave his life for me. I cried.
9/28/14: I was hungry I haven’t ate in 3 days. I was trotting outside in broad day like BROAD DAYLIGHT what was I thinking. It was dangerous. But I didn’t care I was trying to find something to eat in the trash can outside of this “bakery” I heard some ponies call it. But still this “Sugar Cube Corner” must have something to eat in the trash right? I found some Golden coins on the ground and I was going to put them in the abandoned house next to my bed because they might be worth something. But then I heard it. I heard the screams that haunt my dreams and will forever. “It’s a changeling!” I froze in fear. This is it. I am going to die. I ran back inside trying with all my might to keep the hoard of ponies outside to stop from breaking in. I am afraid this will be my last entry. Celestia damn it!
