A Midnight's Miracle

Twilight sits on the library floor, her violet eyes staring down at the golden text of her book. She turns back at the noise of somepony's hoofsteps and sees Shining Armor walking toward her. "Hey Shining! What are you doing here?" she asks. "I just finished with desert and dancing with Cadence, and your friends said you were down here." he replies. Twilight chuckles, "Of course I'm the library!" She turns back to her book as Shining walks and sits next to her, "That looks interesting, what is that book? I'm positive you've read every book, but I've never seen that." he says as he studies the book. "You haven't seen this? I found it hidden in the bookcase by the 5th floor's staircase," she says, the tone in her voice sounding confused, "I was looking at books when the bookcase opened, and this book was sitting there on a silver pillar." Shining stared at her, "Um, Twilight..the libraries here all have 2-4 floors, not a single one has 5, and there aren't staircases in this library, there's ladders." She looks at him, then at the book, "No, there was a fifth floor! I swear! I'll even prove it!" Shining rolls her eyes, unimpressed, "Right, so where where you when you saw the staircase?" he asks, "Were you over by the scrolls?" Twilight trots over to a small crystal table and uses her magic to remove the books of it, and looks around while Shining Armor grabs her book. "It was here!" she takes the book from her brother and sets it on the table. "I really don't think-" Shining stopped. A flash of light interrupted him. "Did you see that!? Th-The book! It flashed words!" Twilight looked at her brother, "I told you so. It's been flashing every time I used my magic!" "Should we see Princess Celestia?" questioned Shining, looking around to see if anyone might of been listening. "Of course, she should be in the Ballroom with Princess Luna and Princess Cadence." says Twilight, a confident tone appearing. She holds the book and teleports them to the ballroom, and they climb up a staircase to a platform, with 5 thrones, a purple throne, a pink throne, a yellow throne, a dark blue throne, and a small light blue throne, each having a cutie mark one it, the purple with Twilight's, the pink with Cadence's, the yellow with Celestia's, the dark blue with Luna's, and the light blue's with Shining Armor's. As they walk up, everyone stops and watches, some whispering to one another.  When they reach the top, everyone returns to what they were doing. "Um, Princess Celestia?". The princess looks up at Twilight at the sound of her name, "Is something wrong?" Twilight pulls out the book, "I have some questions. I found this book in a bookcase, on a hidden floor. What is it? Plus, it flashed words on it!" Celestia looks at the book, then at Luna. "This book is cursed." Twilight and Shining stare at her. "Cursed!? What?!" Twilight yells. Luna sighs, "Yes, cursed. It used to belong to my protege, Midnight Shadows." "Your protege?" Twilight asks. "Yes, her protege. She was a very powerful unicorn, like Sombra she used dark magic, and became corrupted, but she was able to return to her good self after comfort from Luna." replies Celestia, "Midnight was still very curious, and gave a 2nd attempt at dark magic, and turned part of Equestria down. We were about to punish her, but she left to a different universe, with most of her magic. She said 'Thy magic is strong, I will return, and your dear magic will soon burn, Friends and Family are true love, but the world of mine is a shove, Claws and Fur I shall make, so Bundle up before the date.', right before she disappeared but we haven't figured it out yet." Twilight looks at the princesses, then Luna turns away, "I know what it means." Cadence looks at her aunt, "You do?" "Yes, I always hoped Midnight would return, so I never said anything," Luna sighs and continues, "It means her magic is strong, and she'll get revenge, our magic will weaken very much, only true love from her friend or family, but the world she made has no love. Claws and Fur is what she has, and the day she returns, she'll have true friends, which is in 5 days, when the celebration ends." Twilight looks at her, then teleports her friends here, explains, and looks back at Cadence. "How can we stop her?" asks Twilight. Luna sighs, "You must go into the world with your friends, Princess Twilight, and become friends with Midnight, it must be a true friendship, which you have proven many times you are capable of creating, and stop her from using her magic against us."
