"Hi I'm Fluttershy and I was told to write what bats are, I hope you umm don't mind." Most ponies think bats are rats with wings, but they are so much more than a rat, no offense. Bats are actually a mix of Sirens and cats. I learned that when I was a filly in the woods watching nature. I met Adagio there and she told me what bats were. She brought her friends Sonata and Aria. They were so kind and gentle and also had the most soothing voices I've heard. I started studying Sirens at a library in Ponyville which is where Twilight now lives. It said that they were founded by Discord, and have dangerous powers. They were different than what the books says, but I could be wrong. I have a pet bat of my own named Snuggle Princess. She has a pink mane with black fur. I gave one to Rainbow Dash, and she named it Echo. Spike asked for one of his own, but I told him to prove he can care for a pet. He took a whole day to prove himself, so he named his Bree Jetpaws. Bree is so fluffy and adorable, that I could squeez it, but I wouldn't want to hurt him. In early days cats and ciren steamed up together to control Equestria, but two decided they wanted a different life together. They had a baby with the siren's wings, but the cats beautiful fur. The bats had it's own kids and the tradition passed on to today's bats. I wanted to explain to you that no pony should be afraid of bats, because they are the cutest, yet harmless animals you'll see. Right now my bat is pregnant with her baby. I met Sonata when taking a fly with Snuggle, she asked me if it was a boy or a girl. I told her it was a surprise that no pony knows except me and Snuggle. Today Snuggle had her baby, but it was a bat pony. I didn't know how it could be part pony, because magic is the only way to make a bat pony. At least that how Flutter Bat came to be. It's a girl and it's name is Echo, which is the pet I gave to Rainbow Dash. Oh my I'm confusing. I meant to tell the past then the present, but I guess I got too excited about sharing this story. Echo is the daughter of Snuggle. After Echo was born I gave her to Dash. It's hard to write in a journal, I'm so used to talking that I can't even write. " Flutters are you home? I need to ask you a question." A familiar voice said. " I'll be right there Rainbow, just wait a sec." I say Ok you ponies from the future I'll write more about bats after I talk to Rainbow. I'm back! Dashie is dating Soarin I'm so excited. Um, I guess I'm too excited. I can't even write properly, anyway bats are mammals of the order Chiroptera. It's a Greek word meaning hand. I still don't know what a hand is, but it's probably amazing. Bats are the second largest order of mammals, of course behind rodents. There are one- thousand- two hundred- forty species of bats. Most bats eat fruit, but scary ones suck blood, which scares me. They were named, because the sirens mated with rats or birds. Even Sonata told me, but she didn't know what mating was. I had to explain that to her. This is all I know about bats, but I can tell you about bat ponies. Bat ponies are made with magic, but if your a bat pony you can't control yourself. I was scared that I ate somepony, but vampire fruit bats don't eat meat. Twilight would also make sure equestria and I were safe. I stick up for bats, because they are the mammals that help harvest our food. I know it sounds strange, but it's true.
