Building with Nightmare Moon
Twas another beautiful day in the world of Equis and all who basked in it's glory were going about their lives without a care in the
world. The birds flittered and fluttered across the sky in pleasing patterns all the while singing their various tunes for all the world to
hear. Bunnies, ferrets, squirrels, chipmunks and other manners of small woodland creatures scampered about gathering nuts and
berries for their meals. Even the mighty Manticore who normally would be off in the woods stalking prey couldn't help but laze about in
the grass sunbathing all the while purring in contentment.
All in all a rather picture perfect day wouldn't you agree? Well if it weren't for the sight of rocks and boulders flying off into the distance I would be inclined to agree with you. These flying pieces of stone, granite, limestone and other building materials were being shaped into various little bricks and used in the construction of a massive castle with two spires on the mountain off in the distance. If one didn't know better then they would say that those spires looked like two swords drawn from their scabbards. At the center of this storm of gravel and stone was a dark alicorn surrounded by many bipedal figures all going about their tasks and while one of them holds up a blueprint for the alicorn to see.
Humans. That's what these bipedal beings are. Much like the Minotaurs they stand on two legs and use their other "legs" for many different tasks. However unlike Minotaurs these Humans have very little to no fur and are without tails which makes it even more surprising that they are able to remain upright. The one thing most disturbing about them is the fact that they don't use magic at all. All living beings use magic in one form or another and to not interact with it at all is concerning to say the least. Even a Minotaur uses magic passively. One would think that having a magic disability would slow them down but quite the opposite in fact. They show a high amount of ingenuity that would make even the most skilled inventor back in Equestria jealous.
Nightmare Moon wasn't here to question the origins of Humans no she was here to build them a castle in exchange for their services that she was unable to obtain while in Equestria. Amongst her inner ramblings of her mind she managed to finish building their castle quite literally to the letter.
"You know to see your magical prowess for myself is rather astonishing to say the least." said one of the humans.
"If thou art impressed by this then we wonder what thou would look like when we use all our power." Nightmare Moon replied while cracking one eye open towards the human.
The human was probably in his forties or fifties judging from the greyish beard he was sporting on this face. The look of disbelief is still adorning his facial features as he glances at the castle and back as if it would disappear when he wasn't looking.
The human in question looked at the alicorn one last time before walking towards the castle, "If it's all the same to you would you mind if we inspected the castle before we fulfill our end of the bargain?"
"Of course not! We built thou's castle just like thou wanted." replied Nightmare.
Just like the blueprints the fortress was the same even to the littlest detail which aided everyone in finding their way around as they toured their new home. Of course everything would need to be furnished and decorated but with the stonework done they wouldn't need to work for decades to build their castle. Eventually the tour ended in the throne room at the base of the two spires where Nightmare Moon walked in observing her work and the humans that admired it.
The human from before approached Nightmare before stopping a few feet in front of her and politely coughing to get her attention, "I must say that we all are rather impressed with your work Nightmare Moon and you have held up your end of the bargain so we too shall hold up ours."
"Good. Be sure to bring our tribute to the cave at the edge of the forest not far from this castle. Don't keep us waiting." The human just nodded his head and Nightmare Moon leapt off a balcony to the side and took to the air.
Pov Young Human Male
Fear. That's all that was going through my mind on the journey to this forest cave. I couldn't help shake this feeling of dread that has come over me since I was the one selected to be the sacrifice but could you blame me for being scared? No one was ever happy to be a sacrifice and often times it ends horribly for them. The one my fellow humans are giving me too is some sort of winged horn pony that has enough power to magically build a castle in moments and I shudder to think what she could do to me.
I have only two choices at the present moment. I can accept my fate and be sacrificed for the good of mankind or I can try to run but the elders made it very clear that if I ran then I would be killed on the spot. So pretty much I can choose to die as a sacrifice or die as a coward, neither choice really inspires confidence does it? After the flying pony left I was chosen out of the many other choices that they could have made and pretty much forced me to say goodbye to my family and marched me off with some guards to my end. I still can't forget the look on my mother's face when she found out about my fate. Like all mothers she wept and begged for them not to take her son but ultimately failed as they walked me away. My last wayward glance back at my family and saw my stepfather consoling mother and even my little sister as they cried for their loss.
Our march through nature took place in silence as the guards marched us onward. Weather this was out of respect or discipline I couldn't tell and didn't much care at this point. Night had fallen and the illuminating rays of the sun were replaced with the ever present glow of the moon in the sky. The critters that inhabited the day were turning in for the night and the nocturnal ones were replacing their presence. Soon the soft falling of boots ceased as our little group stopped in front of a cave much like the one we were supposed to go. The men turned to face me with unreadable looks on their facial features and pointed to the cave giving a silent command on what I was expected to do.
As ready as I would ever be I trekked onward to my fate and climbed the small hill to the mouth of the cave. Darkness was all I could see and the sense of dread got even stronger as my body was screaming at me to run for the sake of self preservation. I looked down the hill too see the guards who brought me here were now heading back home to the castle spires we would now call home. Well that they would call home. Shaking me head and trying to steel myself for what is to come I at least try to head to my death with some dignity. Still doesn't make me feel any better though.
With the last of my courage I take the final plunge into darkness. Not only can I not see anything but I can't hear anything but my own footsteps. The air is still and I can't help but feel that my predator is stalking me before the kill. Like the frightened little prey that I am I try to find my hunter so I could at least see the death blow coming. Not being able to see I walk face first into the wall of the cave and a little gasp of pain escapes my lips. Naturally I backpedal away from the wall only to bump into something behind me. Something big, something furry and something scary. Even with my eyes slowly adjusting to the dark I turn slowly to face with I walked into and can see the slightly bigger than me outline of the one I was sent here for.
Seeing her outline in the dark my body freezes like a deer caught in a headlamp. I'm petrified with terror and my own heart betrays me as it beats rather quickly as if it's trying to run away from my chest.
"Well what do we have here?" a feminine voice majestically rings forth through the air, "We are most please that our tribute is here."
With a flash of her horn Nightmare moon reveals herself as she lights a bunch of lanterns placed in a giant circle around what looks like bedding.
"Thy heart is beating rather fast. Thou is really exited aren't we our little human."
I was unable to reply as Nightmare Moon was circling me all the while licking her lips like a wolf would towards a sheep. A minute more of this display and I couldn't take it anymore, "Please just get it over with!" I screamed while clenching my eyes shut and waiting for the inevitable end.
"If thy insists." Nightmare replied.
I waited for the pain that should mark my demise but it never came. Instead I felt a pair of lips push onto mine with such force it almost toppled me over. Unable to comprehend what's happening I open my eyes and see that Nightmare Moon was indeed kissing me on the lips. My feelings were all over the place at this point because I was confused more than I ever have been in my life. Eventually she broke the kiss and looked at me with same look of confusion that I no doubt had as well.
"What is the matter our little human? Do you not find us pleasing enough for you?" She looked like I had just kicked her dog and the armor she was wearing didn't help either.
"No it's not that at all! I'm just really confused as to why this is happening." I quickly ramble out in a hope to not cause a misunderstanding. All she did was give a little "Hmm?" before I had to explain, "I was told that I was the sacrifice that you demanded for constructing a castle for us humans." Before her reply Nightmare looked at me as if I was an idiot, "Yes you are our sacrifice. We do not understand why it is so confusing for thou."
"Aren't sacrifices supposed to be.. well... eaten?" I asked while fidgeting from side to side and once again Moon looked at me like I was an idiot and then proceeded to maniacally laugh while using her wing to wipe the tears from her eyes, "Stallions. Always thick no matter what species they are."
Nightmare finally stopped laughing long enough to reply, "We never said we wish to dine on thy flesh young one but We supposed we never specified what we were using our tribute for. Thou art our tribute and thou will satisfy us human."

"Thou has a good name it says a lot about thyself. The sun rises once more and we must rest. Would thou do us one last request and lay with us until nightfall?" Moon asks while looking deeply into my eyes and in the end I can't help but smile and hold her tightly as we both fall asleep in each other's embrace.

Wow I started writing in the afternoon and now it's night time. This is my second attempt at making a story for fimfiction and hopefully you all enjoyed it.
