Epilogue: Goodbye for Now

Previous Chapter

Golden Harvest awoke in her bed. She looked around. It was her house. She didn't remember being in her bed, she remembered being in the TARDIS, with the Doctor. Was it all a dream? She could hear a faint beeping sound beside her. She looked over and found she was restrained to the bed. She began to scream, she thought she was having a nightmare. A stallion ran in and calmed her down. A familiar face. It was Dr. Healthy.

"Carrot Top, calm down...it's alright you were just in a coma." He said. "We'll get you out of your restraints when you're healthy again." With that, he walked out of the room.

Carrot Top laid back. In a coma? Restrained? In her bed at home? Was the Doctor, never real? She felt a tear roll down her cheek. The Doctor she loved. He never existed. She never actually went to space, she never saved anyone, and they never went on adventures. It was all just some sort of psychotic dream. She made her way through of the restraints and rolled over on her side. She thought they were restraints, but in all reality they were just wires keeping her alive. She began to cry to herself quietly. She would have preferred to stay in a coma than to live thinking about her Doctor forever, knowing he wasn't real. She kept crying until she heard a faint wrrring sound.

Wrrrrr.....wrrrr-r-r-rrrr

Her ears perked up. Such an odd noise, and so familiar. She listened closely as the noise got louder.

Wrrrr....wrrr-rrr-rrr-r-rrr

Was it...

Vooor-r-r-rp Vooor-r-rp...

It had to be...

VOOOR-R-R-R-RRRP VOOOR-R-R-R-RRRP

THUD

She heard a loud thud, and a creak. Then hoofsteps. Walking into her house, and slowly ascending the stairs. She noticed a small drop of water sustained in the air. She looked at her heart monitor, it was still. The beeping stopped. All she heard were the echoes of the hoofsteps. She looked up and couldn't believe it. She almost cried in joy as the stallion who came around the door, the Doctor, looked at her, smiling.

"Hello." He said. He walked to her. "It's nice to see you again."

"D...Doctor!" She stuttered, crying and smiling at the same time. She pulled herself up and wrapped her arms around him. He didn't hug her back. "Doctor, what's wrong?" She asked, as she was confused that he didn't give her a hug.

"Nothing, I just don't like hugs." He said. He pulled back and gave her a kiss on her forehead.

"Why not?" Carrot asked.

"Just another way of hiding your face from somepony." The Doctor replied, then paused. "Anyway, I came here to tell you Goodbye."

"Wh...what?" Carrot asked. She was lost at why he would say such a thing. "Why?!"

"Not forever." The Doctor said. "But I have...things to attend to." He looked at his hoof which was glowing a bit. "I'll see you again."

"Doctor! Don't leave me!" Carrot cried, her eyes watering."I still need you!"

"No." The Doctor said. "I needed you, and now you've helped me. I will see you again, but now..." The Doctor raised his hoof again, it was glowing brighter. "Until next time."

"Doctor wait!" Carrot said. "I love you..."

"Don't love me." The Doctor replied. "I don't deserve it." He began to walk out of the room. Carrot kept screaming to him, as he walked out. It hurt him, but it was for her own good. "Goodbye." The Doctor said, before leaving. Carrot Top screamed, tears flowing from her eyes.

"Doctor! Come back! Don't leave me here Doctor!!" She shouted, she began to weep as she knew it was hopeless. He wasn't coming back.

VOOOORP VOOOORP VOOORP VOORP VORP Wrrr....rrrr....rrr....rr...

If she only knew what harm would come of her...

The Doctor closed his TARDIS door and put it into Temporal Mid-Shift. His body glowing, he took a deep breath.

"Thought I would have lasted a little longer..." he said, breathing slowly and heavily. "Guess....I have to readjust." He closed his eyes tight. Shouting loudly, he unleashed the regenerative molecules and began to regenerate.

The Thirteenth Doctor was gone, and the Fourteenth was about to make an entrance.
