From the Light from a Flame
Your eyes slowly open coming into focus a beautiful blue sky and a few clouds that move in front of the sun giving you a small amount of shade. Your body feels heavy as if it was being held down to the ground. You look around your body but nothing is there, nothing to hold you down. You begin to exam your surroundings, you're in a small crater, that's not all. Your shirt is all cut revealing small cuts on your body with small traces of blood; your jeans don't look any better either. You try to sit up but half way up you feel a stinging pain all over. For a moment you stop moving, but this does not stop you from deciding to get up and look around. The crater that you were in isn't that deep into the ground, in fact only your ankles stay in it. As you begin to scan your surroundings you see a mess all around you. Small brown boxes with what appears to be wrapping paper. Some of that wrapping paper just being blown around by small gentle breezes that come by every so often. The trees are what grab your attention. Some are seem pushed away form you as if a strong amount of energy was pushing them. Others were blackened as if they had caught fire. The question 'what had happened here?' Comes out and stays in your head. A strong surge of pain suddenly rises from your left leg causing you to take a knee. You place a hand down on the ground to catch yourself. You turn to your knee staring at it for a few seconds wondering why it hurt so much, what had happened in the lab?, and where everyone was?
A few thud sounds come from the right of you. You turn quickly to see but, what you see you can't quite understand. Three Pegasi that wore blue colored suit with yellow bolts around them."Okay I'm pretty sure Pegasi aren't real." You say taking a stand once again.
"We can say the same thing about what ever you are." One of them replying to your little comment. Your eyes shot open in surprise not only because it talked but because it sounded feminine. You take a step toward them, but they get ready to bolt it out of there in case you are a threat. To show you aren't one you take that step back and sit down on the ground; one leg bent to the side the other bent pointing straight up. You place your right arm on the leg that has your knee pointing up toward the sky and your left arm holding your weight as you lean back. This seems to put them at ease. "Who are you?, what are you?, and where did you come from?" The mare or what you now assume to be a mare questions you. You can't see them fully but you see the one speaking to you has a mane that looks orange and amber with her wings that seem gold. As for the other two, one had a light gray mane, almost white, with a really an arctic blue color wings. The last one had a dark blue almost purple colored man with a light blue colored wings.
"I'm-" you stop your self. You almost forgot your name for a second. Your friends back at home never called you by your real name. They had given you a nickname that everyone began to call you, even your own dad.
"Come on. No need to be scared we can be friends if you help us figure out what's going on." She encourages you. Friends like the ones you didn't have at the moment.
"Frost. My friends call me frost. It's just a nickname they gave me after I mixed a few chemicals and caused a flash freeze. They gave me that name after the famous scientists that figured out how to reach Absolute Zero. I'm human or a homospien I suppose. And I'm from the Central Research Facility or CRF for short. Where am I exactly?" You respond. For a moment they look at one another before giving you an answer.
"This is the land of Equestria."
