When Princesses Luna and Celestia got there, they saw just how large this thing was. It was almost the same size as the castle they lived in. They made their way to Twilights house through the crowded streets. Ponies eventually parted and bowed in unison. Celestia quickly told them to rise. Many of the bystanders were looking at Luna with uneasiness and insecurity. Luna would normaly be saddened at this hadn't there been an object of unknown origin and/or purpose. She remembered when she had came back. Almost two weeks ago. The ponies were still terrified of her and did not look at her the same as Celestia. Twilight quickly spotted them and ran toward them, along with the rest of the mane six. Twilight was the first to speak but Luna didn't listen.
The ODST's side
Sam woke from cryo-sleep with a jerk and felt the need to gag."Someone really has to fix that." he said to himself as he tried to get up. He looked around. He was currently in the front half of the Iron Pheonix. Just down the hall there was the armory, and to the left of that there was the drop pods."Huh, wonder why no one bothered to......" the memory hit him hard. He remembered the screaming as they were under attack by a supercarrier. The ships captain yelled at them to go into cryo-sleep and then enter slip-space. (Jenny) he thought. He tried to get the ships AI active, but to no extent was it turning on. (Damn it why now). Just as that thought crossed him, alarms started going off.
"Slip-space rupture detected." the AI said.
That sentence made chills run down his spine. He remembered hearing the story of Master Chief. He didn't want to go there, so he calmly went to the armory." Well at least this half of the ship is ok. Don't know what I'd do without it". He grabbed an assault rifle and a DMR. Along with two grenades and an active sprint armor ability. He then quickly ran to an ODST drop pod and secured himself in it. "Well, here we go" he said as he pulled the release handle.
Sam watched as the Iron Pheonix's shape quickly fell with him. Though, he didn't know why nothing happened the second he got off. He then tried to find out if he was going to land in hostile territory or a UNSC camp. He looked down, and all he saw was green."The hell, why won't you open?" He said as he tried to open the chute."Well, shit." he thought as the drop pod was falling. He tried to open it with force, but it wouldn't break open. Then he relaxed. He knew even if he did get out it would be a fatal drop, even with his armor's gel and padding. Even if he did manage to get out alive, there was no promise that the inhabitants of... wherever the hell this is are friendly. He then thought of what would happen to him "I'm digging my own grave." he said aloud as the pod went straight through rock and dirt. Then, all was black.
Luna's Veiw
Luna looked at the object and thought about it's angle. It was tilted to the right and looked as if it would land in the Everfree Forest. She then looked at Twilight and said,"Twilight, thou has been kind to us after our return and would like to speak to everypony". Twilight quickly got the hint and started gathering them around her house and trying to calm them down."All Ponyville residences, this strange object will NOT land here. The angle is to far to the right". Luna said with a little more than knowledge to back it up.
Then Twilight looked at it quizzically."She's right, look! It's already changing direction!"
Everyone watched it, and hoped that the princess of the night was right. But after a while, it started to turn away from Ponyville and instead, to the Everfree. Most cheered and started to celebrate. Even Pinkie Pie was about to get her party cannon out. Then, all activity stopped as they saw a little dot leave the frigate and start heading toward them. Some screamed, some stood in fear, and some started flipping anything that would work as a shield to take cover. The object then turned and headed straight down and went through layers of rock and dirt. The ponies either ran out of fear or stayed out of curiosity. The princesses and the Elements were part of the crowd that satyed. They hesitently nodded to each other and started to go towards it when they heard a moan.
Sam's View
"Ugh, my head. Damn it". Sam was slowly regaining his senses as he remembered what happened. "Well, I guess I should have brought my shovel with me." he groumbled as he popped the emergency hatch and started to dig when he heard voices. He stopped digging and listened."They aren't Covenant. That's good". Anyone that has fought with an Elite before knows that they have terrible gravelly voices. As well as not many learned the human languages because of rank or The Great Journey. (Journey my ass) Sam thought. Just as he was about to move his leg to try and pry the door free, he immediately felt a sharp pain. He moaned in pain as he looked down. His leg wasn't secure when he started the drop. It was sprained as a result, and he still didn't know where he was. "Damn that hurts like hell". Suddenly, he heard footsteps coming towards him. "There's sixteen of them. Command is going to have my ass on a platter if this gets out. Not the best first contact made, but what the hell, I'm here". Sam cautiously got out with the assault rifle in hand and pointed it at the ponies. He was shocked. Technicolored horses stood not twenty feet away from him. He then started with the best line for first contact he could think of. "Hi there, do you understand me?"
Luna was bored, it had never failed. Most of her day was spent with nothing to do. Celestia always told her that she could handle it and Luna should get her rest. Luna was wondering what to do when a thought poped up. She hasn't been in the castle gardens in ages. Luna had always wondered how the flowers were after she came back from the moon. She used to take care of them before she turned into (shudder) Nightmare Moon.
Luna exited out of her room and walked at a slow pace toward the gardens. She then had a bad feeling crawl into her mind, but quickly shoved it down whatever corner it came from. She has had those thoughts before. Only bad things come of them. She finally got to the gardens and was looking around. Many plants were in good condition, and some were new ones that she's never seen. (Must have been there after I left) she thought, as she walked, something orange and red was caught in the corner of her vision. She looked to find a big ball of some type of metal alight and comeing toward Ponyville. She went into panic. Her sisters student and the rest of the mane six were there, along with her subjects. She had to react.
Luna ran into the castle frantically, trying to find her sister. She finally found her in the throne room. Celestia then looked up from her work and smiled at the sight of her sister. "Lulu, I thought you were asleep", Celestia said. "Tia' we have seen a meteor flying
toward thou's students town".
Celestia's smile faded into a look of fear. "Luna, we must get there quickly, remember the teleportation spell I taught you?"
"Yes sister" Luna said, impatiently.
"Good, we're going to need it." and with that the two were off to try and stop whatever this thing was.
