Chapter 2-The New Land

Spike had made his way home. He slammed his front door open, and ran to his bedroom to begin packing for the journey. He couldn't help but smile and jump for joy. I can't believe I'm going to see a new land. I can't wait to meet these talking ponies. Joy for me. Though Garble was holding something back. What could he be hiding? Spike thought to himself as he walked towards his bedroom. Just as he reached his bedroom, Spike had saw his neighbor, Mr.Hydra packing his things in a black leather suit case. Confusion had spread onto Spike's face. Why is Mr.Hydra in my room? Also why is packing my things? Spike wondered.

Spike began to approach his neighbor, when he heard Mr. Hydra spoke, "Good thing you finally came home whipper snapper."

"How did you get in here?" Spike asked, confused.

"Through the window you left open earlier this morning." His neighbor replied, pointing a claw finger at the window.

"Really? Maybe I should close it more often." The purple drake said, embarrassed.

"Yeah, you really should. Otherwise someone may steal something from here." Hydra said, calmly. He had finished packing.

"Well then, why are you packing my things?" Spike asked, confused.

"Simple. I had heard you were going to a new land. So I wanted to do something generous." The elder drake said, as he began to zip up the black suit case.

"I didn't know you cared for me. I thought you just wanted me out of your way." The purple drake said, feel a bit happy.

"I do want you out of my way. I'm always tied of you shouting in the morning. Once you're gone, I might be able to get some sleep around here." Hydra explained, looking at the young drake. A moment of silence had passed between the two of them. The silence was so thick, it could be just like a lava river dam. But then Spike realized something that his neighbor had said.

"Wait a moment, how did you know I was going to a new land?" Spike asked, breaking the silence, and feeling a bit irritated.

"Spike. I can hear, and see many things. I have eyes and ears every where." Hydra replied, seriously.

"Ok that's kind of creepy." The purple drake said, feeling a shiver run down his spine. Spike walked over to his bed to pick up the black travel case, when Hydra had grabbed his wrist. Another silence had passed between them, but Hydra broke it by saying, "A bit of advice before you leave Spike."

"What is it?" Spike asked, confused.

"Be careful of your friend. I sense that he maybe doing something no good. Also, once you get to the new land, make sure to stay a week there. Have fun, make some friends, and stay out of trouble." Hydra said, calmly.

"Ok I will." The purple drake said, as he picked up the suit case, and walked away from the elder drake.

As Hydra watched the young drake leave his home, he let out a sigh and said, "I hope you two can deal with him. His destiny shall begin once he gets to your lands. He's in your hands now."

What could be taking him so long?! Come on Spike we're about to leave without you. Garble thought to himself, as he paced back and forth.

"Dude, I see a purple blur coming this way." The purple drake with blonde hair said, as he pointed a claw in the direction he was facing.

Garble looked to where his friend was pointing at, and he saw the same purple blur coming fast. A smile formed on his face as he knew Spike was coming.

"Sorry I'm late guys. Just had to pack a few things." Spike said, sheepishly.

"You know we're not going to stay there long, remember." Garble pointed out.

"And I told you I'm doing this for myself, remember." The purple drake pointed out.

Garble and Spike stared at each other, for a few seconds then they both began to laugh. The laughter continued for a few minutes before it died down.

"I'm sorry. I forgot you're just coming with us so you can explore the land on your own." Garble said, feeling embarrassed.

"Yeah I'm sorry to. I forgotten you guys were doing a recon mission." Spike said, also feeling embarrassed.

"Well good thing you came on time. We were just a about to take flight and leave you behind." The red drake said.

"Oh really. Well then it's a good thing I made it in time." The purple drake said, happily.

"Yeah you did. But what took you so long?" Garble asked, confused.

"Well I'm thinking of staying at this place for a week or two." Spike replied, calmly.

"I see. Maybe you can write us letters about what you're discovering, what these species are like, and find out about their culture." The red drake said, hope gleaming in his eyes.

"Maybe I will." The purple drake said, smiling.

"Umm boss sir... maybe we should get going." The white drake said, ruining a bonding moment.

"Right. Alright you drakes, spread your wings, and let's take off." Garble ordered.

All the drakes had unfolded their wings, and with a mighty flap they all took to the skies.

As the dragons flew through the air, Spike looked down at the sea below him. He remembered what his neighbor Hydra had told him before he left. "Be careful of your friend. I sense that he maybe doing something no good." What did you mean by that? Garble is my best friend. He would never do something bad. But on to the most important part. What kind of culture do these ponies live in? Are they nice to all species? How would they react to seeing a dragon? Spike thought to himself, as he kept looking down at the blue waters that never seem to end.

"Alright get ready to land guys. We have arrived at our destination." Garble ordered, shouting over the wind. All of his friends except Spike had responded. The purple drake with blonde hair, flew next to Spike. He tapped Spike on the shoulder, and he got Spike to look at him. He then pointed a claw at a island. Spike followed the claw finger, and what he saw left him breathless. Spike saw the beautiful land every one of his kind had talked about. As they all flew over, Spike saw luscious green fields, tall silhouette of mountains, a town, and he saw something red and white on a green grass field, not far from the town.

As Spike continue to stare at the new land, he heard Garble shout, "Spike you need to land now!" But Garble's words had fallen on deaf ears, as Spike already had hit his head into something big and tall. Spike then began to fall down, down, down, and down, until he had hit the ground with a loud thud.

Spike had began to see everything was upside down in his vision. He got up from the ground slowly, shaking his head. "Where am I? Oh boy." Spike said, looking at his surroundings. Garble is probably going to kill me for not listening to him. I should have landed safely somewhere else but I got lost in the beauty of this land. Maybe Garble will come to me to make sure I'm alright. Spike thought to himself, as he face palmed himself when he came to a realization. I could just write a letter to him and tell him that I'm alright. Then he can get on with his mission while I have a whole week or two on this land.

Spike began to look for a quill, ink, and paper. But he then felt something was missing from his body. He had been carrying his luggage bag around, that had all of his stuff inside. Now it was missing, and lost. Spike began to look around for his luggage bag, hoping to find it. As Spike looked all around, he then heard something break and something heavy fell on top of his head. He rubbed his head, and looked down and saw that his luggage bag was safe and sound.

"Now to write that letter to Garble. Then I make my way to... Well I don't know much about this place. So anywhere I guess." Spike said out loud, as he reached for the zipper of his bag.

Then he heard laughter, coming from right behind him. Spike then picked up his bag from the ground, and he began to walk towards where the laughter came from. As Spike kept walking, the laughter grew more loudly, and then he heard a loud booming sound. Spike quickly ran towards the sound then he saw a bright white light.

He slowed down and walked through the light. That is when he saw the six of them sitting on a red and white checkered blanket, and a bright brown basket land on top. As Spike looked closer, he saw that one of them was lavender colored, and reading a book, other was orange and practicing something with a rope, one was pink and bouncing around a cannon, another was a cyan blue and laying down, another was white and playing with two needles and making something out of fabric, and the last one was yellow, and petting something little and white.

Spike wanted to back away, and not be sighted by them. But that would be impossible since the pink one had looked at him. Spike gulped and hoped they don't begin to throw things at him.
