I love my little Dashie.
Her mane is soft, pretty, and always so colorful. Even when it gets a little dried out and dirty from when we play, it never seems to lose it's brilliant shine. Her coat is a soft sky blue and I love stroking the parts that weren't covered in dirty bandages. But we don't mind- do we Dashie?
Because one day, I'll take off those bandages and those cute little stumps would be completely healed. Since I'm no doctor, I can only image how the scars might look. Lovely of course- everything looks so lovely on my little Dashie- don't you agree Dashie?
I'm nestled on my easy chair, legs propped up as I watch some old film from the 90's. Rainbow Dash- my Rainbowdash is curled on my lap. She feels so stiff to the touch, and seems to tense each time I rake my fingers through her hair. I smile, absentmindedly, and pinch her ear slightly. She flinches.
"Dashie," I cooed. "Stop freezing up, we're just watching a little telly thats all."
She nods slowly, eyes dull. She's just so bitter about my taking her wings. But I had to do it. It was for her safety. What if someone saw? What if someone took her from me?
"I... I know," Her little voice cracked out. "I just... I just don't like this one."
A silly excuse. Who doesn't like Forest Gump? Still pinching her ear, I give it a small tug. "What did we say about lying?" I sang out playfully.
She yelps and pulls her head up with my hand, wriggling her cute little stumps. "Stop it! That really hurts Papa!"
I smile wider. Papa. I had her since she was a tiny thing, and I raised her like a daughter. Fed her, clothed her, and gave her a warm place to sleep. Of course, like with all naughty daughters, you must discipline your child. If this Rainbow Dash was going to be anything like the one on the show, than I had to cut her rebellious attitude at the bud. "I will. When you answer my question."
She wriggles a little more, and takes in a deep breath. "L-Lying is wrong! Lying is wrong and it can hurt your friends and loved ones so you should never lie!" Dashie lets out a huge breath of relief as I let go of her tender ear and nestles back into me, trying to make herself seem as happy as possible. She knows how much Papa hates to see his little Dashie unhappy.
"Good girl!" I exclaimed as I ruffle up her hair. A few strains go loose, and fall to the floor. Somehow, she's been losing a little hair lately... thats so strange isn't? I wonder why. "Now tell Papa why you keep flinching like that?"
She stiffens up. But she answers. "...because I'm afraid... you'll hurt me again." Her voice is raspy, quiet... meek.
I sigh, and let my palm fall on the top of her head with a loud pat. "Oh Dashie... Dashie... You know I only do the things I do for your own good! You know that." I smile brightly down at her. She barely meets my gaze. "Maybe you forgot? Dashie..."
I run my fingers over the stumps of what used to be her legs. "Why did I take your hooves?"
Dashie squeezes her eyes shut, as if to fight back the tears. "B-Because I wouldn't listen to you. Because I went outside without your permission."
"Thats right. Someone bad could of seen you. And if you disobeyed me once, who knows if you'd do it again? So I made it impossible for you to run..." I laugh softly as my fingers trailed to the bandages around her torso. I can still feel the bony stubs of where her wings used to be. And it was still so tender as the lightest pressure made my Dashie squirm in discomfort. "And your wings honey. Why did I take your wings?"
"B-Because I tried to fly away..." She chokes back a sob from the memory. I don't know why she even tried. Wasn't she happy? She should be happy. After everything I've done for her.
"Right out the window!" I exclaimed, making a zooming sound with my mouth as I flew my hand over our heads like a airplane. "If I hadn't caught you by the tail, who knows where you would of ended up! And how would you land without any legs you silly filly?"
Dashie choked another sob, helpless to stop the tears from splashing onto my pant legs. "I don't know!" Was her hysterical answer. Selfish little thing! She should know that it pained me just as much as it did her to take away those limbs. Maybe more. I loved her hooves, they made such cute clip clop sounds on the floor. And her wings... oh they were so lovely. I saved all the feathers though. They, along with the bones, are in a very special place in my room. Sometimes when Dashie behaves, I show them to her.
But at the moment, she was sobbing uncontrollably, rubbing her face into the fabric of the chair because she had nothing else to rub the tears out of her eyes.
Sighing again, I scooped her up, and nuzzled her close. My little pony loaf. My little Dashie. I loved her. So much. "There, there..." I cooed as I held her against me. I didn't care if I was going to agitate her wounds- poor thing needed a hug! And as her Papa, I get to spoil her with all the hugs and kisses she could ever want.
"You know how much Papa hates to see you cry..."
And just like that, Dashie starts to bite back the tears. She made funny little noises like she was choking on air as she tried to get a hold of herself, and gritted her teeth into a big smile just for Papa. It will have to do for now- except for one last little detail. "Good girl... now. What do you have to say for yourself?"
Trembling in my arms, she manages to say 'sorry'. It was barely audible. I raised an eyebrow, and waited expectantly.
Dashie takes another deep breath, and forces out another smile. This time, it seemed a little more convincing if you could ignore her swollen red eyes from the little fit she just had. "I'm sorry Papa. I won't do it again Papa."
"And~?"
She swallows and adds with well rehearsed enthusiasm. "A-And... I love you Papa."
"Thats a good girl."
