10:30 am: almost time. Its saturday morning, and the only thing worth watching on tv (at least for a brony) is about to start. I run into the kitchen as the coffee just finishes brewing; the last drops dripping into the canister. The aroma of the fresh brew is intoxicating. I grab some milk out of the fridge and a clean mug from the cabinet. After that long first sip of heaven its back to the couch and My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Thomas. I'm a programmer/video game developer, and of course a brony. But enough about me.
As I enter the living room, most of that wonderful caffeinated goodness ends up on the floor. The tv is on but the cable isn't. "This can't be happening." I whisper. I try turning the remote on and off then on again; nothing. I look at the power cord; plugged in as usual. This is what we get for letting the corrupt criminals known as the U.S.Congress sell off the airwaves to their cronies.
I look at the cable box then wonder; if I unscrew the coaxial cable and check it for dust, it might help. As I start to unscrew the white cable-
*POP*
The cable gave off a blinding blue flash. Okay. Never done that before. The cable is standing by itself like a cobra ready to pounce. The blue energy from the flash wrapped around my arm, slowly pulling me toward...what?. As my arm comes in contact I can see bits of myself literally being ripped off of my body. Particles, electrons, neutrons, and protons that used to make up who I am are now being pulled off of my body and apparently into the cable itself, like something from a science fiction movie. I'm being beamed somewhere. As my entire arm seems to disintegrate, the blue energy or whatever it is wraps its fuzzy power around the rest of my body.
"Vinyl, do you have the ticket for the Gala tonight?" Asked the sleek grey mare.
"UHH ticket, Tavi?"
"Yes I left it for you on the table in the living room. Did you find it?"
Octavia stared at Vinyl; that usual 'she did it again' look on her face. and as usual DJ Pon 3 also known as Vinyl Scratch to her friends her trademark rose colored glasses covering her usual I don't know what your talking about look.Vinyl I went to the trouble of getting you a ticket as my guest for the Grand Galloping Gala the least you could do is make sure its secure

PLEASE DON'T CALL ME THAT Octavia could feel her blood boil at the very mention of the nick name she had so come to hate so much, she took a deep calming breath please try to be there on time for once pleaded Octavia I'm playing for Princess Celestia and Princess Luna this will be my greatest performance ever this is what I have worked my entire life for a chance to play for the royal family at the gala i'm going to rehearsal could you please put the ticket somewhere safe and please PLEASE be on time for once.
Err no sweat octy vinyls lips curled into a smile seeing Octavias face turn red VINYL Octavia screamed, I love you Tavi said vinyl as Octavia stormed into the bedroom to retrieve her most prized possession her cello, given to her by her parents when she graduated from college Octavia even at her young age has become the greatest cellist Equestria has ever seen and the youngest to ever play on the main stage in the ballroom at the Grand Galloping Gala this would be her best night ever.
As i opened my eyes the realization came to me that i was no longer in my living room or even in my house i could feel the blades of grass poking me in the back the smell of fragrant wild flowers filled my senses as i looked down at my feet there was some sort of screen there apparently how i arrived wherever this place is as i looked around slowly my mind seemed to be one step behind or having a hard time processing exactly what my eyes were seeing it was so familiar medieval houses with heavy timbers and overhanging second floors under thick thatched roofs.One block down was SugarCube corner and in the middle of the town was the Golden Oaks Library OH MY GOD IM IN EQUESTRIA.
Octavia ran through the crowded streets of canterlot tears streaming down her cheeks. How could this have happened this was her life's work ruined in one night no one song. Why didn't the royal guards escort that psychotic pink pony away why did Princess Celestia allow her up on the stage why was she allowed to interrupt the quartet right in the middle of a set and force them to play the PONY POKEY a foals song. Octavia just ran not knowing exactly where she was going as long as it was away from that place the royal castle a place she had dreamed about for her entire life GONE in an instant like dust in the wind.
The gala was destroyed ruined after that stampede of animals brought in by that pink ponies friend that small yellow pony with a pink mane.
Her cello her most prized possession damaged and scratched like her dreams.
Octavia felt weak she fell to the ground she felt sick she vomited in the gutter feeling slightly less nauseated she tried get her hooves under her but fell back to the ground. She sat there watching ponies well dressed coming from the gala they were talking about her, did you see the cellest whats her name Octavia what a disaster said one of the ponies someone She knew slightly FancyPants one of the Canterlot elite, the snobs who turn their noses up at everything to make themselves look better.
Sir Sonata will never invite her to play at the gala again said Fancy Pants to his group of friends.
Octavia couldn't take anymore, she galloped as fast as she could back toward their apartment and to Vinyl .She just wanted to fall into Vinyls arms and feel warm and safe she wanted to feel the warmth of Vinyls heart against hers and have her soulmates ear to cry in .
As she reached the street where they lived her pace quickened. Octavia fumbled with her keys eventually opening both locks on the outside door, she ran into the elevator pounding on the button as she reached her floor octavia took a deep breath her first sigh of relief she opened the door to the apartment ! the keys fell to the floor
Octavia stood there jaw agape staring unable to believe the betrayal she was seeing there was her love Vinyl scratch in the 69 position with another mare her lips covered in sweet mare honey.
