Twilight's Last Year at a New School
Chapter 1: Unexpected
The loud music went on longer than it should have. It was already one in the morning and there was no sign of it stopping. This party has been going on since 9:00 pm.
Twilight Sparkle couldn’t sleep and she needed it. Tomorrow was the first day of twelfth grade at a new school and she had to have the energy to wake up in the morning.
Her mom insisted she start her last year of high school at Equestria High. She felt it would be a new start for her daughter and she felt her daughter was miserable at Canterlot High.
Twilight tried to block the blaring music by covering her ears with her pillows, but to no avail she could still hear muffled beats coming from her neighbor’s house. They always seemed to have a party once every week and they just had to pick today. Great. muttered Twilight to herself as she tried to drone out the music and get some sleep.
It was brand new morning and it was time for Twilight to wake up. She groggily opened her eyes and forced her body to get out of bed. She was only able to get a few hours of sleep last night because by the time the party ended, it was at three in the morning.
Twilight dragged her feet down the stairs and into the kitchen. She took a seat next to her dad, who was having his morning coffee.
“Good morning, Twilight! Oh sorry, I know that look anywhere and that tells me you aren’t in the mood to talk.” apologized Twilight’s mom, Twilight Velvet.
“No, I’m fine. It’s just that I barely got any sleep because of the loud party going on next door.” explained Twilight, pouring herself a bowl of cereal and then adding milk into it.
“I’m sorry you had to put up with that.” sympathized Twilight’s Dad.
“It’s okay, I’ll just do my best to go through my day.” Said Twilight, as she finished her cereal and started to head upstairs to wash her face and brush her teeth.
She went upstairs and made a turn to the right, where the bathroom was. She washed her face and brushed her teeth. Afterwards, she went into her room to get dressed for school.
Twilight went to her closet, opened it, looked at what clothes were in there and picked what she would wear.
On her bed, she put down a long sleeved white blouse, a lavender sweater vest, a black knee-length skirt and white knee high socks. After she put those items on, she went a section of her room where all her shoes were kept in a rack across from her closet.
She grabbed her pair of black Mary Janes and put those on. Then she walked to her vanity, grabbed the brush that was there and brushed her hair.
Afterwards, she headed downstairs, grabbed her backpack that was already packed yesterday afternoon and went out the door.
She stood outside, waiting for the bus to pick her up from her house. The reason why she’s taking the bus is because Equestria High was too far away from her mom and dad’s business agency.
The bus came and opened its doors so Twilight could enter. When she entered inside, she was met with the loud talking of everybody who was on the bus. She was walking down the aisles when she spotted a familiar face.
“Spike?” questioned Twilight as she sat next to the empty spot to the left of Spike. “I didn’t know you were going to Equestria High as a freshman.”
“Yeah I am. My mom wanted me to get a superb education and so she chose this school.” Explained Spike.
“I see. By the way, I noticed you changed your hairstyle.” Twilight pointed out. Spike had changed his hairdo, to a green and purple Mohawk. Not only that, but he changed his clothing style too. Instead of wearing a green t-shirt and grape purple pants, he now wore a black hoodie, dark purple pants, and grey converse shoes.
“Yeah I decided to start fresh, since I’m going to a new school . Do you think it looks too…punk for me?” uttered Spike.
“It’s fine, Spike. And I know you’re a kind and caring best friend I could ask for!” exclaimed Twilight as she hugged him. Everyone went quiet after that display.
“Errrr…sorry about that, everyone.” apologized Twilight awkwardly, as she immediately let go of Spike.
After that, everyone resumed to there normal conversations.
Twilight Sparkle and Spike got off the bus, only to be met with an unwelcoming surprise. As soon as they began walking towards the school building, they walked into a pink poufy-haired girl, who seemed to be holding a cake and got it all over them.
“I am so so so so so sorry! I was just about to deliver this cake to- Wait! You’re Twilight Sparkle! The girl I was supposed to give my “Welcome to Equestria High Cake” too! And now it’s all ruined…” said the pinkette as she had a face of sadness.
“It’s fine, I’ll just clean myself off in the bathroom.” Muttered Twilight as she went inside the building, with Spike right behind her.
After she was inside, the same pink-haired girl immediately followed her inside.
Then she quickly scanned to see where Twilight was, immediately seeing her heading in the girls’ bathroom.
Zipping in as fast as a mosquito, she left everyone else just staring at her, with looks of disbelief.
As soon as she was in, she saw Twilight trying to clean every part of herself, from her face to her chest.
“I am SO sorry! I should’ve been more careful! I promise that I’ll try to be careful next time!” rapidly apologized the pink, poufy-haired girl.
“It’s alright. And besides I’m almost done. Oh my God, the bell’s going to ring soon! I let Spike save me a seat for English class and I don’t want to be late.”
“Don’t worry about that! I have that same class! By the way, I’m Pinkie Pie! Sorry I didn’t introduce myself earlier! Oh by the way, you look familiar. Have we met before?” asked Pinkie Pie.
“I don’t know, but we really need to go!” shouted Twilight urgently, grabbing Pinkie by the arm, heading out of the girls’ bathroom.
Then all of a sudden, the bell rang as both girls were out of the bathroom.
“Where’s first period?!” shouted Twilight, getting frantic. She starting heading in the first direction she thought English class was. I can’t believe I didn’t print out the schedule
“Easy! Room 2B! Come on!” Pinkie exclaimed as she dragged Twilight by the arm, running in the opposite direction Twilight was heading.
Running past a long row of lockers, the duo finally made there way to Room 2B. Letting go of Twilight’s arm, Pinkie opened the classroom door and walked inside, with Twilight slowly and nervously walking right behind her.
Immediately, the teacher turned around to see who was walking into her classroom late. Not amused, she began to speak to the two late girls.
“Pinkie Pie, I see you’re late again and as for you, you must be Twilight Sparkle, the new girl. I’m Ms. Harshwhinny and I’ll let you off with a warning and as for you, Ms. Pie, you’ll be seeing me after school for detention. Now, both of you take a seat.”
The duo walked down the aisles, with people staring at them and eventually took there seats. Twilight sat in the horizontal fourth row, in the third seat and Pinkie sat in the seat next to her on the right.
Finally, Mrs. Harshwhinny could resume to teaching her class what was on the board, which was what the rules of her classroom were, since it was only the first day of school.
The guidelines of her classroom were written as followed:
1. No talking while I’m talking
2. No sleeping in class
3. No eating or drinking in class
4. And absolutely NO asking stupid questions
Twilight read them to herself thinking, This is going to be a long year. She looked over to her right and saw that Pinkie Pie had winked at her, giving her a folded note. Quickly, she took it and glanced over the note, which read: Party at my house on Saturday.
Shoving the note in her backpack, Twilight had the feeling she would be seeing more of Pinkie Pie in the future.
