Wanted to be Her Hero

Since the first moment I layed eyes upon her I knew then, at that moment, that it was love at first sight. Yeah, I know it sounds corny hay, it is corny but, it's true...Love at first sight is truly something magical...its like a magnet pulling you closer to that pony and saying " I could spend the rest of my life with that mare." I found myself staring at her longer than I should have. Her mane and tail was rich shades of purple and pink. It flowed in waves to adorn her glowing, lavender fur. Her eyes, framed by long lashes, were a bright,violet  and seemed to brighten the world. A perfect muzzle,her cutie mark,everything about her-the picture of perfection. Had she smiled, the world would sigh with contentment. Had she laughed, the world would laugh with her. And had she wept, the whole world would want to comfort her.

She was a Element of Harmony, facing of aganist Equestria's most detestable villains. She, along with the other Element's, braved the Everfree Forest to put and to Nightmare Moon's schemes, she battled aganist the Spirit Of Chaos, Discord and came out on top and she put an end the changeling invasion lead by Queen Chrysalis even whe no one believed her. She and the other elements are pillers of virtue, paragons of Hope and Harmony but, most of all they're heroes. But me? I was a nopony, a coward, comparing myself to them would be like comparing a worm to a manticore, there's no competition. Suddenly, I realized somepony was trying to get my attention, that's when I realized it was the subject of my admiration herself - Twilight Sparkle.

"Y-yes can I help you..?" I asked in my timid, feeble voice.

"I'm sorry to bother you sir but, you seemed a bit dazzed so, I was wondering if you we're ok?" asked the mare with clear concern in her eyes.

"I-i'm fine I was just stargazing is all" I said

"Stargazing? but, it's the afternoon?" questioned the mare

"R-right it is isn't it?"I say becoming alittle red in the cheeks from embarrassment.

"A matter a fact I don't think I've ever seen you around, are you new to Ponyville?"

"Y-yes I just moved here from Vanhoover a few days ago actually." I answered

"That's fantastic I love meeting new ponies how bout' I show you around town I plan on meeting my friends at Sugarcube Corner I'll show you around Ponyville on the way I'm sure the girls would love to meet you especially Pinkie...Oh and my names Twilight, Twilight Sparkle by the way." Twilight says giving me her best smile.

" H-hello Twilight, M-my names Blazen..Blazen Trail" I answered with a smile of my own.

"Nice to meet you Blazen! Now let me show around the town." She said as she began trotting  down the busy streets of Ponyville . With a small smile on my face I followed her.

And that's how my friendship with Twilight first began. I could tell you how close me and Twilight became, how we would go on picnis to -gether, how we would spend hours upon hours reading with each other and how we would gaze at the stars at night as she would lean aganist my shoulder as she watched a shooting star graze the night sky, as she whispered to me her first "I Love you". I could tell you how much I cherished her, how much I treasured her...how much I loved her. She loved me and I her but most of all I wanted to be HER hero, not the other way around. To be a Pony she could look up to but not ony as a lover but a hero and I thought I never get that chance...that is until Tirek arrived that faithful day. I watched as the love of my life fought for her friends, her family,...for me. I watched as Twilight lay on the ground defenseless as Tirek is about to deliver the final blow. My hooves began moving on their own as I raced forward to save the one I cherish.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" I shouted before everything went black.

Now here I lay in a bed of my own blood. I'm happy to know that in the last moments of my life I was able to help her; Ironic how life works isn't it? I see her galloping towards me with the look of panic and horror in her eyes…

'Don't look like that, you're safe now. Go be the hero that I know you are.' I can't help but think to myself, funny I'm dying and still I think of her.

The pain, this pain, it unbearable. I can actually feel the energy from my body fading, I can feel my strength vanishing. My vision, I can no longer see as sharp as I would have been, anything more than a few feet from me are now blurry. I look to my right and she's kneeling right next to me. "Blazin!" I hear her soft, sweet lips saying my name. I always loved how she said my name. Grabbing me, she pulls me into her lap; I can feel the warmth of her body seeping into my now cold one.

"Y-your gonna be ok! Fluttershy is coming with help! Your gonna make it through this"

Drip.Drip.

She's crying. Her warm tears are falling on my chest. She's shedding tears because of me. I made her cry… Slowly I lift my aching arm so my hand can touch her face. It hurt so badly. But I can't let her cry. Not for me, I'm not worth her tears of sorrow. "W-we both know I'm not that lucky." Moving my thumb to wipe a run tear on her cheek, more tears start flowing from her eyes.

"Why Blazin? Why did you push me out of the way? I was suppose to get hit with that blast not you! I'm not worth it!" She yells in anger, I can see that she's already blaming herself.

"I-I wanted to be your hero. I w-wanted to save you this one time instead of you saving me." I feel warm tears running down my cheek but I was smiling. I was not crying because of the pain or because I knew I was going to die. I was crying because I was happy. Because I was able to save my most important person this time.

"Twilight…" Before I felt for good, I wanted… I wanted to see her smiling face one last time. This look of sadness and remorse she has, I can't stand it. "Smile for me one last time. Like that t-time you first saved me from that Manticore…"

She gave me a look of surprise but then his face softened. "Alright Blazin. Only for you…"

There is was. That smile, her smile. Even with the tears running down her face it's still was so beautiful. That smile that made me fall in love with her all those years ago. My body, it's starting to go numb from all the pain I've being having. My vision is going black.

Her smile. It's the last thing I see before my vision is completely gone…

"Thank you, Twilight…"
