Dark Speed wakes up in a hospital. He doesn't know who he is or where he is from. He walks out of the hospital as he does ponies stare and begin talking behind his back He doesn't know why. He keeps walking and notices that some of the other ponies have thing on their flanks, Cutie marks. He starts remembering he looks on his flank and notices he does not have one. He is 18 years old and doesn't have a mark. He teams up with a Dragon named Wryn. He finds out who he is and how he came to be.

'Wh-where am I?' Dark Speed had awoke in a hospital. He looked around not much was really happening. He started getting up as he did a Nurse was passing by. She walked in and tried to help him stand but then suddenly just let him be. "Hmph!" She stormed off saying only that. 'The hell?' Dark was confused. He obviously needed some help getting up. Why had she came in then just left? He saw some clothes on the table. He didn't know whose they were but they looked like his. He put them on. It was a dark black T-shirt with Black pants, along with a hat a fake Fedora if he remembered correctly. He put them on and proceeded to walk out of the hospital. He began to wonder, why was he in the hospital, why did that nurse not help him, and most of all why are they actually let him leave? Aren't ponies supposed to stay in the hospital? He finally made it to the doors of the waiting room and when he went in it was all eyes on him. Had they never seen an Alicorn Pony before? Some more memory started to come back. That was the only reason he even remembered what he was. Then he remembered the Princesses they were Alicorns too, so that couldn't be what it was. He finally left the waiting room and proceeded outside. There was a hustle and bustle of a town, only problem was he didn't know which town he was in. He looked to his left and right. There were some pretty fancy dressing ponies around. He thought 'What town has fancy ponies?' Then it hit him when he saw a Royal Guard pass by. 'Canterlot!' Of course he was in the Royal City. He thought to himself 'Is there anyone I know here? Wait. Who am I?' He put his hooves in his pocket, there was something in it. A single piece of paper. He opened it. It read "Your name is Dark Speed. You are 18 years old. Your Birthday is June 21. You are not like the other ponies around you. You are a Dragon/Pony. ~Myself." "That's it? Why would I just say that?' It didn't make sense. He sighed and a somepony bumped into him. "Excuse me. Sorry." Dark said, the other pony didn't return the sentiment. He was starting to feel unwelcome here. He started walking again when suddenly Royal Guards surrounded him. "Don't move! You are under arrest!" One of them said. "Wait? What for?" He asked stunned. "For stealing that Pony's wallet!" One barked back. "What are you talking about? I didn't steal anything." He reached into his pockets and realized he did have a wallet in his pocket. How did he get it? He threw the wallet to the Guards. "Alright. I don't know how I got it. But here. I don't want any trouble." "Oh you're already in a lot of trouble." The Captain stepped forward. "I don't know who you think you are but we don't tolerate stealing in Canterlot." Dark had to think quick. One of the guards saw him twitch and lunged at him. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. He twirled around and grabbed the spear and pulled it the pony going along with it. Another guard stepped up and was a little bigger than the last one. He lunges at Dark. Suddenly Dark becomes enraged and smashes the guards face to floor. Dark starts to scream and his wings unfurl. "Stop trying to hurt me!!! I don't want to hurt anypony!" He takes off and leaves the town. He heads for a Mountain he can see in the distance. He starts to cry. 'Why? Why did they attack me? I didn't do anything wrong.' Then he remembered the wallet. How did he get it? Why did he steal it? He could think about it later, he was coming up on the mountain. He could see a small town next to it. He didn't dare try to go down there. He would probably get attacked again. So he decided to land on the mountain. When he did he found a small cave immediately. He went inside and looked around. There was still plenty of light out and he could see around the inside of the cave. He noticed something move. "Hello? Is somepony there?" He ventured deeper into the cave. He saw the thing start running down a corner. He raced after it. He seemed to be very agile his eyes adjusting to the darker environment. He eventually caught up with the dark figure and managed to stop it. He grabbed it and pulled it down. It made a small squeal and finally stopped. He turned it over on its back and then stopped. It was a Dragon, a female Dragon. He quickly got off her and helped her to her feet. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. Are you alright?" He asked inquisitively. She nodded her head and started blushing. "I think we got off on the wrong hoof. My name is Dark Speed." She blushed some more. He decided to take his boldness a little further. "And you are?" She looked down for a moment and after a little while she answered him. "M-my name is.... W-Wryn." He brushed her off and said "Its very nice to meet you."

Dark Speed walks with Wryn and asks her many questions. "Why are you up here?" "I live up here, Silly." "What do you do for fun?" "I'll go out and fly." Flight. Dark had a flashback. He remembered seeing what he believed to be his mom and the first time he flew. "That's very good Dark, I'm very proud of you." Then the memory vanished and he saw Wryn standing next to him. "Something wrong?" She asked. "I-Its nothing. So why do you live here by yourself?" He said hoping to change the conversation. "Well...,"She started to blush, it seemed as though she was getting sad, "I'm the last of my kind, the last *sniff* Dragon." Dark's ears perked up when he heard her say that. "No your no-" He cut himself off. She was right. She was the last of her kind. She was a full fledged Dragon. He was a half-ling. He still wanted to tell her but he didn't know how or when he should. She started breaking into tears. He looked at her and with just five words he tries to comfort her. "I am... here for you."

She starts to wipe her tears. She looks up at him with thankful eyes and in a way nestled in closer to him. Dark just held her in his arms. After awhile it started getting dark and he believed she had fallen asleep. He picked her up gently and carried her to what looked to be her room. A simple hay bed and a sheet over it. He laid her out on the bed and let her sleep. He walked to the mouth of the cave and stood there for a moment wondering, What if he had told her? Would she be overjoyed? Relieved? Angry that he hadn't come sooner? He just looked out watching the night sky. He went to the edge of the mountain. He spread his wings and fell forward. His wings immediately caught the wind and he went straight back up he went all the way to the top above the clouds. He could see the moon perfectly. He hung there for a moment. Taking in the thin atmosphere. Then he furled up his wing and shot straight down. He closed his eyes. He wasn't trying to do anything fancy, he just wanted to know what it felt like to have the wind rushing past him. He opened his eyes again and saw that the ground was much closer than he remembered. He quickly pulled his wings back out and shot back up to the mouth of the cave. He walked in and checked in on Wryn who was still fast asleep. He stared at her for what seemed like hours. She tossed and turned a couple of times but nothing more than that. He admired her beauty. How it seemed like if she were to take flight all of Equestria would watch. What was he saying? He only Just met her, yet he was falling in love. He couldn't help it. She was the first one who hadn't treated him badly. Could he do something for her? Hmm he thought to himself. He put his hands at his side and felt something in his lower pocket. A key? To what, he wondered.
