//-------------------------------------------------------// The Cold Abyss -by gurrennishiki- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Beginning //-------------------------------------------------------// The Beginning She could feel her heart, a molten core of unending plasma; pump a steady stream of energy into her biomechanical body with ease. Her mechanically enhanced organs operating at far beyond what they were normally capable of, her bones enhanced with metals and many dense materials, her nervous system running with enhanced streams of energy that made her react much faster than anything. Her skin, while soft much like any organic, was pale white and had been found tough enough to repel bullets and most large caliber rounds. Her ‘armor’ was more a skintight clothes that had little variety in color. From her entire arm until where her legs were connected to her body was a tight white outfit that clearly highlighted her B-cup chest. She had on a pair of black gloves, black leggings from where the white ended to covering her feet. And on top of that was a pair of black high heel boots. And where it connected was covered with a slim, dense black metal that also covered her nether region with seemingly no problems even without seemingly being held up by anything. And around her neck was a black neck guard that went between her breasts and had that looked like giant white teeth that completely went around her neck; and between these teeth was looked black material that looked much closer to rubber. Her light silver blue hair had two long bangs that went down on each side of her head while the rest of her short hair simply was there seemingly unmoving. Her glowing turquoise eyes seemed unmoving; yet still seemingly observing her surroundings. Around her was nothing more than many shapes of broken metal and wood of what had been ships. Her jagged cane in her hands along with a giant stone-like object on top of her head that had two smoking ‘eyes’ with a dark red color within and had two turrets on the side with two slim cannons each. She stood idly on top of water as she observed the small naval town before her with a critical eye. Her mind had nothing. Her memories were gone. Nothing. Her mind was nothing more than an abyss now. But that comforted her. For some reason, her mind being empty like this comforted her. But why did she feel the need to destroy? To kill? Looking at one of the planks floating near her, she saw a strange glow. It was bright blue and comforting feel. She hated it. Reaching out with her hand, she grabbed the small ball of energy and felt something struggle. Why would it struggle? It wasn’t alive, was it? The blue that the ball glowed with began to fade as she felt something. The same emptiness she had felt within her. Looking at the source of the emptiness, she noted it was the blue ball that was steadily turning into a black color. It wasn't even glowing anymore. And as if something was guiding her, she dropped the ball of darkness into the water. The orb sunk like the heaviest metal in existence into the water as water began to furiously bubble around it. As it continued to sink, she felt the need to smile as the water around the orb turned into black smoke. The smoke continued to gather and harden around the black orb and began to move as if alive. Then it came. The furious bubbling gave way to a stone-like shark with a giant single glowing red ‘eye’ with a mouth filled with ‘normal’ teeth and sported cannons on its sides. It shrieked as it emerged from the water in a massive shock wave along with a small burst of black smoke. It circled around her and stopped as it ‘looked’ at her. Kneeling on top of the water, she patted its ‘head’ and smiled. The creature hissed as it moved side to side as if looking for something and looked to the side. So this was a soul of a ship? “Beautiful…” In the corner of her eyes and the small creature, she saw a port filled with more ships, mostly wooden with sails. She wondered if those ships had souls, too. With the sea slowly being covered in a black fog, she advanced onto the port. As she walked closer to the port, a massive burst of black smoke covered the port and she felt the need to destroy. Her cannons aimed and fired. A large crane buckled as its' support broke. A ship blew up in a spectacular explosive force that propelled wood and metal out, while the sails simply fell to the side and sank. ================================================================================================== “H-how many ships were lost?” A large winged unicorn looked wide-eyed at a Royal Guard reporting an incident that happened a mere day ago. She was much larger than the armored pony, and rightly so as her alabaster coat, rainbow colored mane and tail that flowed as if blown by an invisible breeze. “Over a dozen, Princess Celestia. We haven’t found the culprits yet, but the townponies informed us that there was a black fog before the ships were sunk by unknown means.” The guardspony looked at the report he was hovering with his magic. “It seemed that something else also happened as they said they had heard high-pitched shrieks that followed one after another. The port… was left in ruins and even by our best engineers, it would take a full three months to repair the port to full functionality.” “Black Fog? But Sombra-“ She was cut off when the guard shook his head. “We’ve confirmed no magic was used. The fog was naturally there.” “Non-magical and still capable of being undetected?” She looked out of the window from her throne and grimaced. “Dispatch two dozen Guards to each port we have and tell them to defend and if possible, detain whoever is doing this.” The guard nodded and left to relay her orders while the Princess of the Sun felt something stir within her. Something impossible was here in Equestria and it made her afraid.
