//-------------------------------------------------------// Walking Dead shorts -by jadusstone- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// 01 //-------------------------------------------------------// 01 It was raining. It was a bit of a relief through a noise that didn't sound like them. The familiar clean smell of rain water falling down from the clouds, spreading a smell she had almost forgotten had even existed. The smell was fresh and clean. Looking outside she saw a Pegasus fly above the large crystal castle looking down upon the area. “Sweetie Bell darling you should have been in bed hours ago” A voice said. Sweetie Bell turned and saw her sister Rarity standing there in the doorway, she looked dirty and soaked to the bone. She wore a long ranged rifle with a night scope mounted onto it; her once perfect mane was pinned back into a ponytail. It didn't however take away that radiance and beauty her sister possessed. Through the bullet wound around her flank just above her cutiemark seemed to stick out like a sore thumb on her white beautiful coat. 'I couldn't sleep” Sweetie Bell said. “Besides the rain is nice to watch it makes me remember what it things use to smell like” Rarity walked over and nuzzled her sister’s cheek; she sat down beside her and looked at the rain drip down off the crystal palace roof. “It's good to know rainbow dash has the weather patrol back in order” Rarity said, 'Applejack needs the rain if we're going to have a chance of getting any food this season” “You were on patrol a lot longer than usual” Sweetie Bell said “I got worried...” “It was nothing to concern yourself about, just a few stray walkers” Rarity said “I took take of them easy; it was good practice for the ponies I’m training to shoot” Sweetie Bell had been very surprised when Rarity had shown her talent with a rifle, she was sure her cutiemark was going to turn from crystals to a rifle for a few days. Then again the rifles fired crystal bullets, so maybe it was accurate after all. She looked further out and sighed. It was that wall, without twilight they might not have even thought about building a thing like that. The wall was wood reinforced with magic, every day a pair of ponies were assigned to check the wall make sure everything was still standing and secure. She took a look over at rarity before walking over and picking up her saddle bag. 'You really should have gotten some sleep” Rarity said, 'I know but it's my turn to go on wall patrol anyway” she said and levitated a bright yellow rain coat over herself and then put on some rubber boots. “Don’t forget your gun” Rarity said “I know you only remind me every day” Sweetie Bell said picking up a hand gun in a gun holster hooked onto a belt. She levitated it just above her boot and strapped it around her left front hoof. “If I’m quick, I might even run into Scootaloo she's supposed to meet me in the middle” 'Just be careful” Rarity said. 'I know” Sweetie Bell said and walked to the door. She headed down the crystal staircase of the palace; she could hear Twilight in the throne room talking with ponies. She didn't stand around to try to make out what they were saying; she had a job to do. She trotted down the crystal halls and to the exit where she stopped and encountered Trixie. Trixie stood there in front of the huge doors, it was like this every night it was her job to keep track of ponies coming and going from the palace. Take their names, what time they leave or arrive, then when they come back or leave. It was a system that Twilight had put into place, before going on any job every pony had to sign in with Trixie. That way if any pony went missing, they'd be able to track exactly how long they were missing, and where there were supposed to be assigned to be doing. Trixie looked worse for ware, a scar across her right face showed the sign of a bullet that had torn through her flesh. She remembered that time, a bunch of ponies had showed up demanding to be let inside, but instead of waiting and going through Twilight's usual system of letting ponies inside their walls they decided they were going to force their way inside and help themselves to whatever they had. Sweetie Bell had been with the other crusaders firing off shots from their posts, Rarity was in a top tower while Trixie had been on front lines with Twilight helping keep not only the attacking ponies from getting into the town but holding off the herd of dead that were coming. Twilight said it was all the noise they had caused that had attracted them. The dead aren’t very smart or fast but in a herd they were dangerous. “Going out Sweetie Bell?” Trixie asked yawning into her hoof. “Wall duty” She said “did scoot already sign out?” “About an hour ago” Trixie said “Trixie had to listen to her complain about wasting time signing in and out every time she had to do wall duty, Trixie doesn't like it ether. Yet you don’t hear Trixie complaining Twilight came up with this system let her complain to her not Trixie” Trixie levitated a piece of chalk and walked over to a large chalk board mounted on the wall. Paper was a bit rare to come back so the chalk board was a bit more practical to use. She looked for an empty space where she wrote Sweetie Bells name under Scootaloos and marked the time she had signed in. “If you see Derpy tell Trixie, she's late with her reports from Princess Luna with the situation in Manehatten” she said “Will do” Sweetie Bell said. Trixie tapped the doors and two royal guards opened the large doors letting the unicorn outside. She took a breath and looked up at the sky watching a Pegasus fly above her. The Pegasus were lucky sort of a weird way, when a Pegasus died and changed they had limited flight capabilities. They could still walk on clouds but they couldn't really fly that well more like hovering in the air mindlessly following whatever noise they could hear. Rainbow Dash had been the first to figure that out when she and the other living Pegasus were clearing out cloudsdale, but even now some parts of cloudsdale still weren't safe enough to venture into. Like the weather factory, according to Rainbow Dash the place was literally crawling with the dead. Too dangerous to go into and try to clean at the moment. She lifted the hood and covered her head before heading towards the wall. It was a good five minute trot towards the huge wooden poles, each stuck into the ground at least five feet and then reinforced with concrete, rocks and a spell to prevent the trunks from rotting. The spell wasn't perfect it needed to be casted on each section of the wall every few days. She wished she had enough magic to do that, but her magic was far from powerful enough to do that spell. She started walking checking the wall for any breaks, or damage that any walkers could have caused. She could smell them through, she was sure she would never get use to that disgusting smell. The smell of rotting flesh coming from behind the wall, she could hear them moaning. That’s all they did smell, moan, move and eat. Apple Bloom often compared them to mindless animals. Sweetie Bell stopped along one of the logs and looked at a part of the log cut out carefully then covered by a sliding window. She took her hoof and slid the wood to the side seeing the outside. The holes were used mainly for defensive purposes, if the walkers got too many they'd stick their guns out and start shooting them down, clearing them out. She could see a few drifting along, one pony a mare who’s mane was half gone and coat was rotting away stumbled half its poor face gone showing the inside of its head and mouth. It's tongue hanging lifelessly to the side, somehow managed to keep walking in a stumbling almost dragging motion with its half rotted legs. At first the sight made Sweetie Bell sick to her stomach but now, she wasn't sure what it made her feel. Anger maybe? Or maybe even remorse. She slid the panel shut and continued walking. It wasn't until an hour later that she met Scootaloo in the middle. She smiled and waved at Sweetie Bell. Her body was also covered in a large yellow rain coat and boots. She didn't carry a gun instead she had a large axe strapped along her side. Scootaloo had seen better days too, she had a scar along her mouth, an accident apparently when she was making a supply run to sweet apple acres with another pony, she couldn't remember who had been. They had run into a few rouge griffin bandits who tried to rob them. She and the other pony, now that they thought about it she was sure it had been Mrs. Cake, didn't take long to take the griffins out. They hadn’t been all that strong but one of them had slashed Scootaloo pretty in the mouth. Thankfully she didn't lose any teeth or anything just a slash along her mouth which left a nasty jagged scar. “Your mane is growing back, bout time” Scootaloo said. Sweetiebell touched her mane and blushed, she had almost forgotten it had been cut by applejacks sword when a walker had grabbed onto it months ago when all this first started. It was finally growing back and almost back to its normal length. 'Yea rarity says I’m going to have to start tying it back, safer that way” Sweetie Bell said “patrol quiet?” 'Yea this side of the wall is secure” Scootaloo said. “Nothing bad, a few walkers outside the walls but nothing the patrol can't clear up” 'Derpy been running late you seen her?” Sweetie Bell asked. 'Nope and she's always late, that mare can get lost in her own closet” Scootaloo said, “She might be a Pegasus but no Pegasus I know of flies like she's blind” 'She isn’t blind, she got some sort of eye condition I think” Sweetie Bell said “least that’s but her husband keeps saying” “Let's head back and sign in with Trixie it's getting really late” Scootaloo yawned “I’m exhausted” “Me too” Sweetie Bell said, “I hope the rain clears up tomorrow” 'Least it's clearing up that awful smell a bit” Scootaloo said. “Luna knows they seem to smell worse and worse every time they come near” “That reminds me you talk with Apple Bloom lately?” Sweetie Bell asked. “Not since the last run into sweet apple acres for supplies” Scootaloo said. “I’m glad they managed to finally finish a fence around that place, makes the runs a bit easier” “You know what?” Sweetie Bell said “After all this, the dead rising, us taking our part in helping the town we still haven't earned our damn cutiemarks” Scootaloo started laughed and Sweetie Bell followed. They had almost forgotten all about that, earning your cutiemark seemed like a trivial matter compared to trying to survive in a world full of the walking dead. It felt like ages ago since they were all together trying all sorts of weird, wacky, and sometimes dangerous ways to earn their cutiemarks. 'I’m gonna need to go see Silver Spoon in the mourning my axe is dull again...I think I might need a new one” Scootaloo said. “Say hi to her and diamond tiara for me” Sweetie Bell said, “hard to believe those two are actually doing manual labor” It was hard to believe that silver spoons special talent had turned out to be forging anything out of just about anything. That came in handy especially when she came up with the idea of fashioning crystals into bullets. The iron and metal ones just weren't practical, too hard to come up with gun powder and the right metal for the bullets. Diamond Tiara had made the modifications to their weapons so it could withstand the crystals being fired out of them. Who knew that the crown on her flank didn't symbolize her being all fancy, but designing stuff. They walked through the muddy road and looked over what remained of the Carousal Boutique. In the beginning of all this it had been overrun with the dead, trapped upstairs Rarity failed to the notice that one of the dead ponies had banged into the table near her sewing machine and knocked down a lantern. By the time they had managed to reach the roof, the smoke was pouring out of the windows. If it hadn't been for two Pegasus flying overhead and rescuing them they would have probably died because a minute after the Pegasus lifted them off the roof it caved in consumed in fire. Rarity couldn't stop crying over the loss of her shop and home; though she was probably crying more over the fact her latest line of dresses had been lost forever. Now all that remained was skeletal burnt remains of a few stone pillars, and the stone staircase halfway collapsed within the middle. She could make out the bath tub in the rumble, and twisted metal of what were once manikins. “Hey come on hurry up I don't wanna stay out in this rain any longer then I need to” Scootaloo said. “Oh right coming” Sweetie Bell said, taking one last glance and then trotting up to the Pegasus as they continued back to the palace. They walked inside and shook off the rain taking there raincoats off, hanging them on posts to dry, there boots went under the coats. They'd return tomorrow to retrieve them. They then signed back in with Trixie who wrote down there returning time on the board. They passed by a section of the palace which had a large wooden sign marked a bit crudely Hospital Wing. Since the hospital had been overrun and destroyed beyond repair by the dead, Twilight had relocated the hospital inside the palace. She offered up the rooms in the palace that weren't in use to any pony that needed a new place to stay. It wasn't a bad life through she hated sharing a room with Rarity. Especially since Rarity snored in her sleep, she denied since snoring wasn't lady like but Sweetie Bell hated it. It was like listening to a donkey that had a horrible cold crossed with the sound of a chainsaw. They walked upstairs and sweetie bell yawned as she stopped at her room door. 'Night I’ll see you tomorrow” Scootaloo said. 'Yea night” Sweetie Bell smiled and nuzzled her friends face giving her soft kiss on the cheek. They were young and very inexperienced when it came to love but even if this didn't last, sweetie bell cared very deeply for Scootaloo. Scootaloo blushed and kissed her back on the cheek. They hadn't gotten any further then that so far, and hugging. They were both still young, and rarity said they had plenty of time to figure things out. Through in the way the world was now, sometimes Sweetie Bell wondered if there was going to be plenty of time, or even tomorrow. She opened the door to hear Rarity snoring in her bed loud as ever. She cussed under her breath, and removed the strapped gun holster from her hoof, levitating it next to her bedside where a hook held it up. She then picked up some ear plugs she use to use when first learning how to fire a gun. The sound use to hurt her ears and scare her. Now she was all too use to the sound of loud gun fire. So the ear plugs now served a new purpose, keeping the noise of rarity’s snoring out. Sweetie Bell crawled into bed and laid her head down on her pillow pulling a sheet over her body. She'd have to see if they had enough water to spare for a bath tomorrow morning, with the rain coming down they might just have plenty enough. She never thought bathing would be such a luxery, now it was gods send to have hot water. Yawning she blew out the candle on her night stand and shut her eyes. The sounds of rain comforted her, drowning out the horrible sound of moaning outside the walls as she fell asleep. Author's Note I used microsoft office to check my grammer and spelling so if you spot anything tell me and i'll fix it //-------------------------------------------------------// 02 //-------------------------------------------------------// 02 Fleur sat down panting, she felt very tired and cold. She wished she had paid much more attention in class and learned some sort of medical spell for wounds. The bite she had received was burning like fire. She lifted her hoof and rubbed her head, she felt a headache beginning to pound in her head. 'You feelin alright darlin?” Sapphire Shores asked walking over and examining fleur. She lifted her hoof and put it against fleurs forehead and gasped. 'Sugar yer burnin up!” 'Eww yuck she probably caught some...commoner plague” Blue Blood gasped “we shouldn't even be breathing near her!” “Didn't I tell ya to shut yer mouth you done nuttin but complain since we grouped together” Sapphire Shore snapped angrily 'I am a prince you have no right to speak to me in such a manner” he said “if my aunt were here she'd...” Sapphire cut him off by glaring straight into his face. 'Yer aunt isn’t here and you ain't no damn prince anymore” sapphire shores snarled “you ain’t got no ponies to bow or treat you like a spoiled brat. If princess Celestia were here, she'd probably tell ya to shut up too” 'Well I never!” Blue Blood gasped turning away from her. 'Please don't argue..we need to find shelter to rest..” Fleur said getting to her hooves. 'Well let’s start walkin again” Sapphire said 'urge more walking” Blueblood groaned 'Yes more walking” Fleur said annoyed also by Blueblood present. At first they had been more ponies with them, but as the days passed there were fewer and fewer of them. Now after two months of traveling by hoof, there was only the three of them left. Sapphire hadn't taken the deaths of her backup dancers very well at first, she completely inconsolable. As days passed she started to just become numb to it all. She didn't cry anymore if a pony died and seemed intent on keeping them alive. Through fleur was sure Sapphire Shores would gladly throw Blue Blood and his big mouth to the dead. They traveled slowly, and looked up at the sky as the sun was beginning to set. This was a good sign, as long as the sun and moon rose, and set they knew the princesses were alive. They had decided to try and reach the crystal empire, one of the ponies that had been with them before had suggested that the snow may be too deep and cold for the dead to infiltrate the kingdom. They still had that hope, and sapphire shores who had traveled there before for a few concerts said she was sure they were heading in the right direction. Sapphire Shores then stopped smelling something. 'You smell that?” Sapphire Shores asked. Fleur smelled the air as did Blue Blood who covered his nose with a disgusting look. “It smells foul” Blue Blood cried “That smell is oil” sapphire shores said “I’ve been on enough trains to know were probably near a station or a train” “Thank Celestia” Fleur sighed her legs feeling like they were going to give out at any moment. They passed through a bush and saw a rail road station along some tracks. They stopped and listened; the dead moaned and made noise. After a minute they all gave a sigh of relief nothing but quiet. Fleur lead the trio towards the station and smiled as she saw the door was intact and the windows weren't broken in. They had found a few other places, but there walls, doors and windows had been smashed or broken in. Most of them had been looted and made for a poor place to stay. They learned quickly that without a safe place to sleep they were vulnerable. Sapphire Shores looked inside the window and smiled at the sign on the front of the station. 'This town is just a few miles away from the crystal empires boarders” She smiled “if we follow the tracks we could be there within a day or two!” “Finally a civilized place where my cousin can aid me in getting me a place in the palace” Blue Blood said. 'Let's get inside and see if there's anything useful inside” Sapphire Shores said. Fleur took a breath; she could feel her headache getting worse. They opened the door and walked inside. The inside was empty, a bench where ponies would sit was turned over, and the door to the behind the ticket booth was opened. The floor had a few pamphlets scattered around. A lair of dust was already forming over the floor. Fleur lifted her hoof and gasped when a mouse scampered across the dusty floor. She shivered; she was never good with mice. She knew they wouldn’t hurt it but it was one of those fears she didn't know why she had developed, all she knew was that ever since she was a foal she had been terrified of mice. 'Ah a mouse” Blue Blood cried jumping onto a bench like a scared mare. The two mares laughed and it felt great to laugh after so much death and despair. 'Stop laughing it isn't funny!” 'Oh yes it is” Sapphire Shores laughed “You two say ere, I’m gonna check in the back see if there's anything worth eatin” Fleur laid down on the floor, it wasn't the most comfortable place to lie but it was better than the cold ground outside. She looked over at Blue Blood who was grumbling about the place being filthy. She coughed covering her mouth with her hoof and tried to ignore the fact her head felt like it was about to explode and her stomach was growling in hunger. “Lucky us” Sapphire said returning holding a bag “looks like some pony left all this food here” “Are you sure it isn't spoiled why would any pony just leave food” Blue Blood said. Sapphire shores paled slightly and turned away “You just need to stay outta that back room darlin” she said Fleur felt saddened, it was probably some poor mare or stallion who had decided he couldn’t take it and killed themselves. They had found one house like that before; the mare in the house had by the look of it gathered his family in one room then shot them one by one before shooting himself. The whole thing had made Fleur so sick she had thrown up on the spot, one of the other ponies they had before had broken down crying and wouldn’t stop. She found out later she had found a bottle of medicine in the bathroom and swallowed the entire thing. “Here I found some medicine back there also...” Sapphire Shores said digging out a medicine kit from the bag with her mouth and setting it down in front of fleur “let's see if we got anything for that fever” Fleur nodded feeling horrible, her body felt so cold and like she was stuck in the winter without a scarf or coat. Sapphire dug through the first aid kit and smiled taking out a bottle of pills. 'These should help darlin” she said taking a bottle of water out and opening the bottle. Fleur weakly floated the water up to her mouth and swallowed the pills with the water. She never thought she'd be so grateful for something as simple as water. She felt relief as it wet her dry throat. Blue Blood began digging through the food and turned up his nose. 'Unacceptable commoner food of all things” He said “disgusting I refuse to eat any of this...mass produced, possibly poisoned garbage” 'You should be grateful we found food at all” Fleur said “I saw some chests in a room round the side, probably luggage of some ponies that were travelin” Sapphire Shores said “we should look for some winter clothes if were gonna try and cross into the crystal empire” “Yes something hopefully with sheep wool I wouldn't let urge cotton touch my coat” Blueblood said. 'Remind me to buck em in the face after” Sapphire Shores whispered to Fleur who chuckled and coughed “you just pick something to eat and then get some rest” Fleur dug through the bag until she found a can of soup, she used her magic to open the can enough so she could drink the soup from the can. She didn't care much for the taste of the cold soup but she guessed it was better than nothing. She watched as Sapphire Shores took out a tin of crackers and sat down next to the window looking outside keeping watch. She smiled if it hadn't been for Sapphire Shores, she and Blueblood would have been eaten by the dead a long time ago. She kept them focused, gave them a goal to focus on. She coughed and nearly dropped the soup; she set it down slowly deciding to sleep. Yes sleep that’s what she needed, her body needed rest to heal. She put her head down and shut her eyes. Blue Blood finally opened a bag of chips and ate them, stomaching what he called commoner food. He walked over to Sapphire Shores who was staring out the window. “Is she..really sick?” He asked. 'Oh is that concern I hear comin from you mighty prince I didn't think you felt that” Sapphire Shores said. “I just don’t want to..catch anything” he said looking away stubbornly. “She is really sick, she's in no shape to travel if the fever doesn't break” Sapphire Shores said sadly looking down “it might be an infection, we didn’t have any antibiotics to give her after she got bit” “This is a town right” Blueblood said 'Surely they must at least a drugstore” “That’s right, I remember seein one here before” she said “I never thought anything smart would ever come outta yer mouth before now” “Hey” Blueblood cried. Sapphire Shores chuckled “Stay here and keep watch for any dead, I’m gonna go out and try to find that store” 'That’s suicide” Blueblood cried 'I’ll go and see if I can find anything I can use as a weapon in where the trunks are” Sapphire Shores said 'You just stay here and watch her and watch the window..if you see anything don’t scream, the noise attracts em” 'I..I know” Blueblood said sounding scared now Sapphire Shores made her way to the back again, her sight straying away from the conductors office through the smell was hard to miss. She opened the door to the room where all the trunks were, and started searching them one by one. She found a lot of nothing, but she found a warm purple jacket with fur along the collar. Digging deeper she opened another trunk and smiled. She hit the jack pot; there was guard armor in this trunk along with a sword. Must have belonged to a traveling day guard. She decided the armor would be too heavy; it'd just slow her down. She however took the sword; she tested it by holding it in her mouth and striking down on a trunk. It cut straight through the wood, good it was sharp maybe this was her lucky day. She took the sword strap and put it around her body, and then sheaths the sword. She dug into the trunk further and found a spear. She picked it up putting it aside for the moment. She found a trunk with some blankets, saddlebags and clothing. She put the saddle bag on; she'd need something to carry all the medical supplies in. She carried the clothing and spear back into the waiting room where Blueblood was still watching out the window. He gasped when he heard her come back. 'Gah by Celestia you scared me!” he said taking a breath. “Sorry” Sapphire shores giggled and put down her findings. “I thought you could use the spear if anything happens, and there’s some clothes there too for you and fleur” She took a blanket and put it over Fleur who was panting hard in her sleep. The sweat was beading off her face. “I better hurry her fevers getting worse” “H..hurry back...” Blue Blood said Sapphire then opened the door and left the station. She followed a small road leading into the town then stopped. She saw a few dead ponies they were occupied in feasting upon some poor animal they had caught. She crept by slowly, careful not to draw their attention. She didn’t need them coming after her. She walked slowly into the town and ducked behind a building. She then took out the sword she could hear something. She looked closer and saw a small group of earth ponies, three altogether. They were laughing as they were striking something on the ground. Looker closer she gasped realizing it was a mare, she looked like she was trying to scream but her voice kept getting interrupted as one of the stallions smashed there hooves into her. “Good for nuttin Mare” A red Stallion snapped and bent down to her face. The mare looked weakly up her face covered in blood and her mouth spilling out blood. He grabbed her mane with his teeth and with a mighty tug tossed her into the building they were beside. Sapphire shut her eyes but the sickening crack of the sound the mare’s body made as it hit the building was impossible to ignore. She could hear her body hit the ground and the Stallions laughing further. “Didn't get a damn thing out of her...” the second stallion growled That’s when Sapphire heard the moans, and a group of dead ponies came staggering from out of a hotel. 'Celestia there's walkers!” The third stallion cried picking up a crow bar. The dead approached them, Sapphire for a moment was about to rush out and help but then she remembered what they did to the mare. Maybe it was all the death she had seen in these last few months, or maybe she was just going crazy, but she stopped herself and sat still. She then moved away trying to ignore the shouting and screaming of the stallions as they tried in vain to fight the dead off. She moved into another street, this one was empty. She was careful through watching the houses as she passed by them. Looked like the ponies here had panicked and tried boarding up there houses but most of the doors, and windows to their houses were shattered. She could see the blood staining where the dead had made their way in. She then came across a filly’s tricycle; it was turned over on its side with a pool of blood beside it. She shut her eyes trying to keep herself from crying. Why did all this happened, just months ago she was a famous singer on stage with ponies screaming her name in the crowds. Now she was standing there with a sword she barely knew how to use, trying to keep herself from crying at the thought of some poor filly being eaten alive by some pony that had come back from the dead. She then started walking again and opened her eyes tears falling down her face. Then she saw it, a small buildings with a red cross on it the sign Pharmacy lay broken on the ground. She looked inside carefully, so far so good nothing dead inside. She walked inside, the door still open. The place had already been raided as the shelves were collapsed, and most of the things were gone off the remaining shelves. She started rummaging for anything useful, she managed to find some aspirin, bandages, and a few odd and ends. She put them in her saddle bag along with a few bottles of soda that had been left scattered across the floor. Sapphire made her way further back and found the counter. She swung opened a tiny door and looked around; the shelves back here were empty too. She sighed and then heard a moan. She froze and felt something grab her hoof. She gasped backing away and saw a dead Pegasus trying to drag itself along the floor. It reached out again its mouth widening and sapphire taking the sword without thinking drove it into the dead things head. She stopped and took a breath, it had stopped moving thank Celestia. She hauled on the sword and it came out, the sickening sound of the bone breaking as did she so. She looked at the pony now a bit closer. He was dressed in a white coat that was torn but she could make out the Red Cross on the front pocket. This must have been the poor guy who had been working here. She then spied a pair of keys hanging out of the pocket. Carefully trying not to be sick, she picked the keys off him. There was half ripped tag on the keys, it was ripped off. She wondered if maybe there a room back here that had been locked. That meant possibly it hadn't been raided yet. She carried the keys in her mouth as she walked around looking around. She then saw something a shelf that looked out of place. She approached the shelf and saw part of a door behind it. She smiled and using her hooves pushes the shelf slowly, she gasped my Celestia this thing was heavier then it looked. She was a singer, and even if she was an earth pony she wasn't use to heavy lifting. The heaviest thing she had ever picked up was a microphone. She managed to push the shelf away from the door. It was still intact; maybe that Pegasus had moved the shelf there in hopes of protecting whatever was behind it. She took the keys and tried the first key, didn't fit, she tried the second and bingo it fit in, she turned it and she heard the door unlock. She pushed the door open and her eyes sparkled. Inside was the jackpot of all things she could have wished for. There was medicine, untouched food, water, and things they could use. If they could find a carriage to put all this in, they'd have more than enough supplies to reach the crystal empire. She even found another saddle bag; she began filling her bags to the brim like she was on a shopping spree. She stopped for a moment and opened a bag filled with dried fruit. They were a bit stale, but they were delicious considering she hadn't had much of anything to eat in the last few days. After eating she walked outside and looked around, it was starting to get dark but if she was lucky she could make it back to the station before it got completely dark. She found a carriage in front of a house beside the pharmacy. She checked inside, it was empty. She grinned seeing the symbol on the sign, a faded dolphin. She chuckled maybe this was her lucky day after all. She quickly began stacking the supplies in the carriage. She then hooked the carriage onto her back, she gasped it was heavier then it looked. With some effort and muscles she didn't even know she had she started off slowly. The cart wheels made some noise but not enough to attraction attention. She finally reached the station, it was dark now but she was just glad she had managed to make it back. “Blue Blood, fluer you won’t believe what I...” she said as she opened the door and stopped and her heart almost leaped into her throat. Fleur was leaning over Blueblood her jaws digging into his stomach, her hooves covered in blood as she picked his insides out and put them into her mouth. Sapphire felt tears coming down her face again, and she started crying. This couldn't be happening, no. This was all a bad dream, not the both of them. They both couldn't be gone. The sobbing then attracted Fleurs attention and she got up groaning, her long legs stumbling as she made her way slowly towards Sapphire. Sapphire screamed and with tears in her eyes she held out her sword and rushed forward and somehow managed to cut fleurs head in two. The upper half of her head and mane fell onto the floor, her body dropping lifelessly to the floor. Her eyes were still open completely white and her mouth was open dripping in blood and pieces of flesh. Sapphire then collapsed and dropping the sword. She sobbed in her hooves, she didn't like Bloodroot but he hadn't deserved this. Why did this have to happened, fleur had been beautiful not much of a fighter but she was her friend. She then heard moaning coming from where Blueblood laid. She started crying harder as she stood her legs trembling and she picked up her sword. She walked towards Blueblood. His eyes were compelety white and the familiar groaning was coming from his half eaten face. She stood there for a moment crying and then shoved the sword deep in his skull. He stopped moving. She then sat down and started crying. She forgot about the time as she cried, she soon fell asleep crying. When she woke the next day she stood up and wiped her eyes. She first made her way towards the stack of clothing and put a scarf and hat on. She then carried the rest of supplies into o the carriage, she then returned inside and stood over Blue Blood for a moment. She then reached down with her mouth and pulled the sword from his skull. She took a breath and wiped the stained blade off on a handkerchief which she tossed away to the floor. She put the sword in its sheath and stood for a moment. She left the station she didn't bother shutting the door and she didn't look back.
