Chapter 3 - Dawn of horses

Twilight and Rarity were walking on a field towards Applejacks farm. It was apple bucking season again and this time Applejack asked them for help beforehand.

"All this sunlight! It is going to ruin my marvelous hair. I worked hours on it," moaned Rarity.

Twilight sighed loudly before responding, "Why did you even spend hours on your hair if you knew days beforehand that you had to help Applejack on the farm?"

"Well, because I have to look best at all time. You never know who you are going to meet during the day." Rarity was excited at the thought of meeting celebrity. For a moment she was lost in a land of dreams and whishes, where she married some famous prince.

Twilight awoke her from her dreams, "Hmppf. Then stop complaining. We are almost there."

As they approached the farm, they could see Applejack waiting for them on the doorstep.

Applejack noticed them and she waved, "You are very late, girls. These apples won't buck themselves, y'know?"

"I know, but Rarity couldn't stop complaining about the sun and her hair. Sorry."

"My hair is the most important to me and you all know that."

Appljack sighed, "We all know that."

"So, how can we help today, Applejack?" asked Twilight.

"On the southern part we have some apples that need bucking. If you and Rarity could pull these wagons y'all could help me very much. Oh, Twilight, I hoped you could help me with the bucking itself." said Applejack and the she whispered to Twilight, "I don't think Rarity is in the mood to get her hoofs dirty"

"I hope there is no mud around. I certainly don't want any mud on my hoofs," interruped Rarity.

"Told'ya," whispered Applejack again.

Twilight gave her a quick angry stare before turning to Rarity, "Could you please stop whining, Rarity?"

"I am not whining. I'm complaining. If you want to hear me whining I can do that."

"Please not. Can we please go apple bucking? The job won't do itself!" asked Applejack.

They walked over to the southern part of the farm. Applejack got happy at the look of tasty red apples.

"Rarity. Can you come over here with the wagon and I'll put the apples inside."

"Any moment."

While Rarity slowly pulled the wagon, Twilight helped Applejack

with one of the trees, "It's good you asked us for help this time. It's not a big deal."

"I did learn my lesson, after all." answered Applejack, "WHERE IS THE WAGON, RARITY!?"

"I am coming. Any moment, my dear!" said Rarity.

A few hours later, they were finished for the day, there was still a lot to do, but Rarity refused to walk back after sunset.

"It was good to have help. Thank y'all a lot!" said Applejack as she pushed the

last wagon into the barn.

Twilight and Rarity made their way to Ponyville.

About an hour later, Rarity suddenly stopped and asked, "Do you hear that, Twilight?"

"What?" asked Twilight.

"This humming. It is not very loud, I can barely hear it."

"Now I hear it too." - Twilight walked towards the side of the road - "It's more like a screaming and it is coming out of the Everfree Forest."

Rarity took a few steps back, she was uncomfortable with the situation, "It seems to get louder."

Twilight locked worried, "Yes. Hmm."

"We should ask Rainbow Dash if she could fly over and see what it is.", Rarity began walking home.

Twilight noded and followed her, "I agree. We should keep moving, it kind of scares me."
