I stared out the window of my new castle library. I watched as Rainbow Dash darted past, a slightly darker blue against the even lighter blue sky. Things were so different now that we had this new palace, Spike walked in with all the many new books I had asked him to bring over. I smiled my thanks as he set them down.
"So you expect to read all this?" He asked eyeing the large stack of books warily.
"Well of course Spike. I am very interested in all these new books I thought I'd start here." I said putting a light purple hoof down on the stack. I used my magic to open a book and flip through to the first page. My eyes darted from side to side as I read the informational book on Changelings. My other library had next to nothing on the subject. I heard Spike draw in a breath I looked up just in time to see him flame a scroll. It always interested me to see the scroll come from the green fire, I should look up how it is done. I used my magic to catch it midair. I set down the book and unraveled the scroll. It was from Princess Celestia hence VERY important.

A great threat has risen in Canterlot we are in need of your assistance immediately. Please come and soon as possible

I decided on what to do about it in about 1 minute of thinking. It's surprising how fast I can now think of what to do after what I've been through. I turned on Spike who was staring at me with his light green eyes and stated quickly.
"Spike, get our bags we need to leave very soon." And with that I galloped out of the room and without really thinking tellaported out side. I guess I just have to say I'm just used to doing it.
Everypony was looking at me with their many colored eyes which was good, I could get straight to it without worrying about getting there attention.
I told them all I knew from the letter without stopping to explain myself when they all stared at me like I was speaking a different language when I had finished Rarity was the first to speak up.
"Oh dear, what could have possibly happened to cause such and uproar!" she exclaimed her smooth purple curls falling perfectly in place in front of her white muzzle.
"Well whatever happened we can take it!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed hitting her blue hoof with her other.
"That's right sugar cube! We can do this thing! We'll get there on the next train!"
"No time for that it sounded urgent." I said shaking my head at Apple Jack's request. "I think I have enough experience to teleport us all straight to Canterlot " I looked around. They all seemed to agree except for Fluttershy who looked as nervous as ever, muttering something about all the ways that could go wrong.
I worked up a spell feeling the area around them all. I reached my spell and located Spike. Oooo…. he was going to hate me for doing this without warning…. oh well. I teleported and dragged everyone along with me. It was hard. Like dragging a bag of rocks through a field but in a split second we where in Canterlot, just in front of the castle.
"Ug.. I much prefer flying…" complained Rainbow Dash who looked like she was about to throw up. I shrugged the complaint off and trotted up to the door and the guards let me in slightly startled by my sudden appearance with all my friends.
Spike was on my back looking angry with me. "I thought I told you to warn me when you do that….." He mumbled under his breath holding a half packed bag.
I half trotted half galloped to the throne room. When I got there Princess Luna and Princess Celestia was sitting on their thrones talking to each other urgently, they looked up at my entrance. The others burst into the room with me a half a second later.
"Thank goodness you all are here Twilight Sparkle. There is something drastic we must discuss." Celestia stated standing up and moving toward us. She walked through the door and started leading the way into a new room. We ended up in a large room with a long table and multicolored throw pillows as seats. She nodded towards them, we took the hint and sat around the table.
Luna trotted steadily in, her night blue skin looking like a strange shadow in the white room filled with sunshine. She took her place to Celestia's immediate right and just across from me.
"Twilight Sparkle… we… well…" Celestia started. It was hard to see her stutter, she was usually so confident and authoritative. "Twilight," she tried again "we've been hiding something from you for the best but we must now inform you that you have… a twin sister…" She stated the last bit quickly. She must of thought the shock would go quicker if she did. She was wrong.
"WHAT?!" I gasped… that was all I managed to say even though my mind was about to burst on fire because of how fast all the question were coming in, but I simply didn't have enough voice to speak them.
"It was for the best Twilight Sparkle." Luna assured me. Her voice was calming like a lullaby but it wasn't working very well.
"But I had a right to know." I said turning to her and locking my violet eyes with her dark blue ones.
"It is because she is…. special…" Luna answered awkwardly.
"How?" I asked shaking my head in confusion.
"It would be hard to explain." Luna said tilting her head but not loosing her eye contact.
"I don't mean ter interrupt.. but what does this have to do with us? Is she in trouble?" Apple Jack asked looking at the princesses questioningly
"Kidnapped?" shrieked Fluttershy putting her hoofs up to her mouth terrified
"Did she run off?" asked Rarity looking around at us all looking like she was about to do a dramatic faint.
"If she did you should check the kitchens she might just be looking for some cake!" voiced Pinkie Pie her frizzy pink hair jumping up and down in time to her excited leaps.
Luna shook her head and looked back at Apple Jack. "She is the trouble."
"What do you mean?" I asked staring at her as she looked back at me.
"This is how her 'specialness' comes in." Luna calmly stated.
"Then you must explain what is wrong. We need facts, we are here to help after all." I asked drastically trying my best not to raise my voice. But I could barely help it. There was all these secrets that had been hidden from me and now I was getting all the facts when it should have happened long ago.
"Alright Twilight, I understand your need to know. But you must listen and not ask questions, we will try to explain best we can." Celestia said soothingly, she nodded to Luna to start. Everyone got in a comfortable position for the explanation. Even Pinkie Pie sat down putting an end to her bouncing.
"It was when you where exactly 2 days after your birth. Your mother came to Celestia with interesting news. One of they're daughters were born an alicorn." I opened my mouth to ask why but Luna only lifted a dark blue wing to silence me and continued on. "Of course she looked into it immediately. They brought her their daughter and my sister sensed dark magic in this child. Celestia trained the child helping her with the night, and soon discovered that she was possessed by a demon spirit."
I gasped. I had read a bit about them. But sadly a bit was all anyone knew about it. Or at least put in books.
"Well not quiet possessed at least not yet. It was in her but not in full control." interrupted Celestia but as soon as she finished what she had to say Luna continued.
"She was a brilliant learner and also a great helper." she eyed me as she said this and I knew that she was thinking of how in that way we were a like. "When Celestia rose the moon she would be able to change the phase at the right moment for it to take effect."
"Sadly the filly wasn't strong enough to fight it so the Demon became stronger." Celestia added "When Luna returned from exile the Demon was close to full control, Luna, when she came back, tried to help her by making Moon Glare stronger and hence by comparison the Demon Spirit weaker but it was already too late. Her strong efforts did little. The Demon still has no control but is close, too close. We must put an end to the Demon."
"Maybe you should see her for yourself…" Spike said tucking me in.
"Well where would I find her?" I asked getting up and messing up the neatly tucked blankets.
"Maybe you could ask,"
"Well maybe they won't tell me!"
"Your a princess." He said pointing a stern claw at me.
I grunted "Well yeah but they won't allow me to see her it's 'too dangerous.'" I said groaning and collapsing on my bed again.
"Well maybe some pony found out something." Rainbow Dash said trotting coolly in. "Okay listen to this, I over heard the Princesses talking and they said something about this Moon Glare kid. They said something like. 'Is MoonGlares room guarded?' Something like that, anyway besides that they said they would have you see her soon."
"And that is now." Came the voice of the Princess Celestia as she walked cooly in with Luna just at her side who was eyeing Rainbow Dash with amusement.
"Come Twilight Sparkle we must go soon, it might be too dangerous if you go any later." Luna said breaking her gaze from Rainbow Dash to look at me.
I nodded and got out of bed. I was surprisingly calm as we trotted down many winding corridors up a flight of stairs and I could have sworn we passed a dungeon on the way, we finally came to a door lined with steel.
Weird.
Luna made a key using her magical horn and inserted it into the lock turning it until it made a sharp click. She used her head to open the door and called quietly into the dark room.
"Moon Glare. Come here. There is someone who would like to meet you."
A pair of eyes sparkled in the dim light. I heard the unmistakable trot of hooves on wood and finally a pony who I had missed but not known for so long came into the light.
Seeing her made my heart beat hard and fast in my chest. My head spun with excitement. Her skin was duller and more dark then my rather light purple skin, her eyes were shaped much differentially, but they were the exact same shade as my own. Her mane was frizzy much unlike my neatly combed dark purple hair, it was a cool bluish grey and had stripes of black running through it. Much unlike mine, her flank had a moon on it much like Luna's but it was thinner and her area around the cutie mark was a large black marking, it looked cracked and slightly demon like, which reminded me of her terrible fate.
She must have realized that I was staring at her because she said "Hi…er… I'm Moon Glare who are you?" She asked eyeing my wings with interest. Her own wings had a line of black feathers underneath her shiny dark purple ones.
"This Moon Glare, is your sister… Twilight Sparkle."
Her eyes went wider at Luna's words. "I've… I have never imagined I would see you in real life!" My heart slowed at her words and loosened it's hard thumping that was beginning to hurt my chest.
"I didn't even knew I had a twin sister." I said smiling and staring into her eyes that twinkled brightly besides the fading light. "Until now of course."
"Well of course you didn't. The Princess forbade it. I understand why she did." She said adding the last part hastily when a shocked look crossed my face. "I'm not angry with them. If you knew you might seek me out and, well something bad might happen." She looked down and began nervously kneading the ground with her hooves when she said the last part.
"I'm just glad we are together at last." I said pressing her side gently with my own. I trotted back and saw my sister smiling her eyes twinkling with newly formed tears.
"What's all the talking about?" Asked a strangely familiar voice said. And shockingly a baby dragon walked out. It looked a LOT like Spike yet it was a girl and her scales were different shades of grey instead of the purple and green scales Spike had.
"Twilight… why is there a girl version of me?" Spike whispered in my ear.
"This is Grey Scale. She helps me around with tasks." Moon Glare said smiling and making the tears disappear
"And may I present Spike, my helper." I said smiling as Spike hopped off my back and walked up to Grey Scale.
Oh, it was so good to now see my long lost sister. It's like filling in a pit that I didn't know was there.
"Moon Glare we must go and raise the moon." Luna said looking at Moon Glare with a sparkle of proudness in her eyes. My sister nodded and started trotting off with Luna. Grey Scale rubbed her eyes with a light grey claw
"Well… I'm going to go back to bed."
I nodded and started back to my own room. When we arrived I fell on my bed and laid there for awhile. She was nothing like I imagined when it came to sight but she was perfect anyway. I got up and spotted the lump of light purple that was Spike fast asleep in his bed.
"Spike! We are going to need to do some list making!" I reported getting up and starting to pace back and forth.
"Ug… I should've known you would say that…." groaned the purple dragon getting up slowly and getting a clip board and pencil from a nearby desk.
"First we will have to speak with Moon Glare,"
Silence followed with nothing but the scratch of the pencil on paper and the mutter of Spike reciting the words slowly under his breath.
"Second we will do some research, after speaking with her we will surely have something to look up."
I truly hated not knowing the topic of research first hand, when we make the list, but right now was one of those times when I don't know.
"What should be first is us going to sleep." Spike growled quietly.
I myself was stifling a yawn, he was right we should be going to sleep.
"Well okay little baby dragon." I teased nuzzling the tip of my muzzle into his soft purple scales. He gave a friendly shove and I walked off to my bed, I lay half asleep while tucking myself in, rearranging the covers to stop the drafts of cold air from hitting my coat.
While I settled my head on the pink cloud of pillow I looked lovingly over at Spike who had fallen into a heavy pit of snores. I watched with half closed eyes as his scaly stomach rose and fell. And soon enough his steady breaths dragged me into the domain of Princess Luna.
