Even now, a thousand-odd years afterwards, I'll occasionally wake up and realize I had the dream again. The dream where I brandished the Elements against the only one I'd ever loved. I keep telling myself that I did what I had to; that if she'd stayed, she would've doomed Equestria. Those kind of excuses only work for so long, though. After a while, you start doubting yourself.
