Chapters Before I begin telling you this story I need to do a quick recap of what has happened since my last story. First and for most I've signed a record deal, second Rarity is my designer, third Sapphire Shorts is my mentor, fourth Scootaloo is now a wonderbolt, and Applebloom is working on her family farm. As far as Cord is concerned I haven;t seen him since the talent show but I always liked to think he was doing as well as I was. Also I am now twenty years old and currently dating Spike, he is pretty good about me being busy almost all the time. And one last thing my first concert in Canterlot is coming up.
"Sweetie Belle come on your going to be late!" Spike yelled I quickly grabbed my carry on bags and ran down the stairs.
"Thanks for coming with me." I said he took one of my bags and we ran to train stop where Sapphire and Rarity were waiting for us.
"You almost missed the train." Rarity said as she boarded
"But I didn't!" I said I was out of breathe
"May I remind you how important this concert is." Sapphire said she always got stuck up when these things came up. She got in after me and finally Spike boarded and we were off. I was so excited, I couldn't wait.
"Now remember when we get off we'll be going to a press conference." Sapphire said she had a full schedule of everything I was suppose to do to look good in public. "Then to the hotel, separate rooms you two, I don't want my student getting pregnant on this trip." Sapphire stared at spike who gulped and nodded. I couldn't help but giggle a little.
"Nice to see you find that amusing Sweetie Belle." Rarity glared at me she didn't like to joke about that kind of stuff. Soon the train came to a stop and sure enough there was screaming fans and paparazzi everywhere.
"Hey Sweetie Belle!" I heard a pony call out from above I looked up to see Scootaloo in her uniform she landed next to me.
"I haven't seen you in awhile." I said as Rainbowdash also came down to land next to Rarity they began catching up as well.
"So why are you here?" She asked
"My first concert." I replied she nodded
"I'm here for my first airshow." She said I couldn't help but feel happy for her, when we got passed the crowd I picked up on somepony playing the guitar, I looked around and saw my old friend Cord strumming away to entertain a little foal.
"Cord!" I yelled to him he looked up and the foal got his back as he walked over to us.
"Who's this?" I asked he smiled in that way that me feel all warm inside.
"This is my niece CD." He replied and she stared at me with awe.
"Your Sweetie Belle!" She cried out I couldn't help but smile she was so cute. Her coat was an extremely light blue and her mane was purple. She was no more than five years old.
"How about we get you back to the shop?" Cord said to her she yawned and we started walking with him to the disapproval of Sapphire and Rarity.
"She's adorable." I said
"She's a hand full most of the time." He replied she had fallen asleep on his back.
"Hey where's your brother?" Rarity asked she was probably remembering the time that she and him went at it.
"He's gone for the day, so I'm running the shop." Cord replied as we walked in. He went upstairs as we looked around when he came back down Sapphire had a proposition for him.
"Your the one who played with Sweetie Belle in the talent show correct?" She asked Cord nodded as he began moving boxes around. "Well it just seems fair that you perform with Sweetie Belle for her first concert. Now who's your manager so I may speak to them about this." Cord sighed.
"I appreciate the thought but I don't have a manager in fact I just play on the streets." He said I couldn't believe that somepony so talented would end up like that. "Somepony did approach me about signing a record deal but I declined." Now it was really hard to believe.
"Hey um could you guys give us a minute?" I asked and everypony left the building. "Why didn't you tell me this I could've gotten you a record deal." I said to Cord who went over to an electric guitar.
"Remember what I said to you?" He asked I assumed he meant the talent show.
"You mean to think of you leaving as a temporary separation?" I asked as he picked up the eletric guitar he was looking at.
"That's the one I thought it was cool that you made it into a song." He replied I frowned
"That's not the point your talented so why are you playing on the streets?" I said I rose my voice but not enough to wake his neice.
"You're right I am talented, but I feel differently towards music than you and Sapphire and anypony who goes and gets a record deal. I feel like music should be free, not something somepony has to pay to go see or hear." He sighed it was just like him to think like that but I couldn't help but admire him for it. "But for old times sake I'll do the duet with you."
"Really?" I said in shock.
"Yeah." Cord said as the bell rang and in walked his older brother and Sapphire.
"He said he would do it." I said and Sapphire had a grin on her face.
"Come on then." She gestured for him to follow us, his brother nodded to Cord that it was okay. We left to go to the press conference, Sapphire stood in the middle of Cord and me and Spike stood behind me and Rarity behind Cord.
"Wait are you to tell me that Sweetie Belle beloved pop artist is going to play with a street performer?" One of the reporters asked I looked over at Cord I could tell he was nervous so I took the mic from Sapphire.
"He isn't just a street performer he had the same opportunities as me but turned them down to follow his own path and without him I wouldn't be here today." I said and the room lit up with questions for Cord, I gestured for him to get up to the mic and he did.
"Um you there I guess." He pointed to some reporter who stood up.
"What exactly would your beliefs be?" The reporter asked
"That music should be free for anypony to listen to." He replied then the next reporter asked a question.
"What genre do you two plan on doing together?"
"Rock."
"Aren't you contradicting yourself by performing at a concert that ponies are paying to go see?"
"Well I'm not under contract and I'm just helping an old friend out so I don't believe I am since they're paying to see her not me." The questions went on I couldn't believe how much of a stir he had made. It was even bigger than when the press found out I was dating a dragon. After the press conference Sapphire thought it was necessary for him to come home with us, he would stay in the same room as Spike.
"We have to get him to come with us on tour now and not to mention a record deal!" Sapphire said the phone. "The press love him, yes I know he is just a street performer, understood I'll wait to act till after they perform." She hung up with a huge smile on her face she sat down next to me. "What if we can get your friend to come on tour with us? Or maybe even a duet album with you!" This was the first time I had seen her this excited since my first record deal.
"That would be great but what about his niece and brother?" I asked she thought about it for a moment.
"Well I guess he could visit them every so often like you do with your family." She replied but she was wrong it was different Rarity was always with me, Cord would have to leave everything behind I didn't think he was going to sign.
"Or imagine if you two ended up together the sales would go through the roof!" She cried out I tried to ignore that part. I went back to my room and found the guitar that Cord had given me it was still in good shape. We were so young back then, it was hard to believe it had been so long since we last saw each other. I wondered how we ended up on completely separate paths then my mind wondered to is he didn't move would we have ended up together the thought gave me goosebumps in a good way.
"Hey I got to go." I heard Cord said I watched him walk out of the hotel room.
"You like him a lot don't you?" Spike said from behind me I turned to him.
"I'm with you silly." I said and we kissed which turned into making out.
"Break it up you two!" Rarity yelled form the other room and Spike quickly got off me and ran back to his room. Rarity frowned at me, all I could do was give her nervous smile. She shook her head in disapproval and began finishing up the costumes for the concert. I fell asleep shortly after wards, in the morning everything was chaotic. I yawned as I saw Rarity scrambling to get everything done, Sapphire on the phone yelling at some poor pony.
"What do you mean one of the back up singers is sick!" She yelled I went to the refrigerator and got some milk out. I pored myself a glass and watched everything unfold. "I don't care find somepony then!" Sapphire hung up the phone and realized I was a wake. "I didn't know you were up. Best get ready quickly we have a big day ahead of us." She said as she led me to my room, she went through the clothes I had brought and picked a few things out for my sister to decide on what I should wear.
"Sapphire why can't I pick my clothes out?" I asked she looked up from my suitcase.
"It's nothing personal dear it's just until you get a sense of what will be good for a certain occasion we'll handle the clothes." I hated the fact that they wouldn't let me pick my own stuff out but I went along with it anyways. "This might take awhile it seems you pack as much as your sister, how about you go out for a walk with Spike and we'll be ready when you get back." I nodded and left with Spike. We went out, I had to cover myself up or I would be ambushed by the media.
"You know you aren't fooling anypony with that hood right?" Spike said I looked at him he thought it was funny.
"Oh shut up." I said and he laughed at me. I rolled my eyes and hit his arm.
"Fine I'll stop." He whined. Over head we could see the Wonderbolts going past performing, I began to wonder what it would be like to fly. Spike looked at his watch, then frowned. "We should be getting back now." we walked back to the hotel where my outfit was laid out for me.
First Time For Everything
"Alright I get it Sapphire I need to smile and watch my posture." I said as we went through the dance steps on stage.
"You're also off key." She said I let out a loud ugh she rolled her eyes. "Where's your duet partner?" I shrugged I hadn't seen Cord since we first got to Canterlot. "No matter take ten." I walked off the stage, Spike handed me a towel I levitated it and used it to wipe the sweat off of me.
"I thought you were great." He smiled unfortunately though he was wrong I was off key and I need to fix it. NJot to mention COrd was supposed to be here by now. The whole thing was stressing me out. I grabbed a bottle of water and drank a little of it, I gave the towel back to Spike along with the bottle.
"Am I late?" I turned around to see Cord with an electric guitar Iw as about to kill him.
"Yeah by two hours! What part of six in the morning did you not get!" I yelled and he shrugged.
"The whole wake up early thing doesn't work well for me." He smiled as he sat his stuff down then spotted his old guitar. "YOu actually kept it?" He took it in his hooves and plugged into an amp and began playing to see if it was tuned.
"I thought of it as a good luck charm, and I thought you could use it tonight." I said
"Why not I missed this old thing anyways." I smiled at the thought of us recreating the night I got my cutie mark. "So what's the deal here anyways?" I looked at him confused then it hit me.
"Our duet will be the finale." I said and he nodded
"Oh good your here now we go over your dance steps" Sapphire said Cord looked somewhat concerned about that. "It's a duet so you'll have to dance with Sweetie Belle."
"But-" He started say but Sapphire pushed us both onto the stage. "I thought I was going to playing guitar." Sapphire stopped us and face hoofed.
"I completely forgot about that." She went over and picked up a guitar and gave to him.
"Actually we were wanting to use that one." I said nervously she sighed went over picked it up and gave it to Cord.
"There now practice." She wasn't to happy I assume I wasn't the only pony under stress right now. We practiced several times then I went back to go over my songs and dance moves. Cord stuck around back stage raiding the buffet, much to the disapproval of Sapphire.
"If you keep eating your going to throw up on stage!" She yelled Cord rolled his eyes.
"I think you need to relax a little." I thought it was amazing how he could act so calm with the pressure on us to do well. "But if you makes you feel better I'll stop." He left the buffet table and went back to his guitar and starting playing a new song and I saw Sapphire face light up followed by a devious grin on her face.
"How about if you do well you finish out the tour with us." She asked Cord's ears perked up then he had an equally devious grin.
"Only if I can bring my niece with me." He said as he held out his hoof Sapphire took it.
"If you do well tonight its a deal." Inside I was screaming at the top of my lungs, I couldn't believe Sapphire was actually allowing him to come with us, it took a lot of begging to get Spike to come but here she is allowing Cord to come.
"Don't worry about it." He replied the rest of the day we were resting waiting for the show to begin. When it was time I took to the stage the crowd cheered the place was packed, I looked over them and saw Rainbowdash and Scootaloo flying above cheering.
"Hello Canterlot!" I said into the microphone and the show began. When it was time for Cord to come I took I took the microphone again as he walked onto the stage, I could tell he was nervous. "This is the song that gave me my cutie mark." I said and the crowd cheered we played and everything went perfectly. We bowed and walked off the stage, it was exhilarating. Spike ran over and hugged me tightly.
"Well you certainly held up your end of the bargain." Sapphire said to Cord who smiled back.
"You had doubts?" He walked off after that, I ran after him.
"You need to be at the train by twelve tomorrow I'll come by to get you." I said he nodded and we went our separate ways. I couldn't wait for tomorrow, on the way home something seemed to be troubling Spike.
"Hey Spike what's wrong?" I asked he looked at me funny and I knew it wasn't going to be good for any of us.
"I'm sorry Sweetie Belle but I think it might be best if we broke up." He said I couldn't believe it we had been dating for two years now and now he was just going to break up with me after my first concert.
"Your breaking up with me..." I said sheepishly I had tears in my eyes. Everypony stopped and looked back at us. Spike put his hand I me I brushed it off. "Just go." I said coldly and he left, that night I drowned my sorrows in ice cream and songs about break ups. Sapphire had made an offer to cancel the tour due to my newly developed emotional issues. But I told her I would be fine, then I headed out for a walk I found myself at a bar. I was barely old enough to drink, before I could get a drink I felt a hoof on my shoulder. I turned around to see Cord.
"That won't help you know." He said as he led me out of the bar.
"Why?" I asked I was on the verge of crying.
"I don't know let's get you home though." He said for the longest time I didn't understand why he was always looking out for me. Even back when we were kids he helped me with the talent show and fixing my relationship with my sister. He even stopped me from harming myself. I couldn't help but feel there was something between us that I was just oblivious to. At the same time I had always wanted to repay him for helping me out but I never knew how. He led me back to the hotel. Rarity took me from there, he led me back to her room, I began to cry. I didn't get any sleep that night, I stayed up watching tragic movies. In the morning I looked terrible, my mane was a mess and I had rings around my eyes.
"That's it I'm canceling your tour." Sapphire said upon looking at me.
"No I can manage." I said she gave me a hard look and frowned.
"No it's for your own good I think it might be best for you to go back to living with your sister and give this whole pop star thing a rest till your over this." She said kindly Rarity nodded in agreement. Part of me wanted to go along with this but I needed to push myself on.
"I said I can manage." I replied and Sapphire sighed
"Sweetie Belle I'm-" I cut Rarity off.
"I want to continue this tour if I just stayed and moped around in Ponyville I won't be helping myself." I said as I perked myself up.
"Alright fine get your stuff together and get Cord so we can go." Sapphire said and that was what I did. We got on the train and headed to our next stop Manehattan. We were going to be there at the same time as the Apple family reunion which was also going to be held there this year.
"So am I going to have to-" Sapphire cut Cord off he brought very little with him just a guitar and a saddle bag.
"Yes, press conferences, parties, formal events, face it kid your going to be as famous as Sweetie Belle." Sapphire laughed as Cord sighed. "Don't worry about it you should be fine as long as you do everything I tell you to do."
"Hey Cord where's your niece?" I asked hoping to get to know the little filly.
"With her mother she didn't want her to come with me." He replied
"Oh." Rarity looked at us and smiled we were sitting next to each other. "What?" I asked and she just rolled her eyes and stuck her nose in a magazine. She had never smiled like that with Spike and me together I assume she was having some weird ideas about Cord and me.
"So what's this Apple family reunion thing?" Cord asked me I rolled my eyes.
"It's in the name genius." I said which was met with a counter argument.
"Exactly I don't see why we're going." He replied before I could respond Sapphire answered.
"It's good P.R. to have Sweetie Belle be seen with her old friends especially with the one who considers her an honorary family member." Cord nodded I could tell he didn't get but wasn't really going to say anything about it. I ended up falling asleep mid way through the train ride.
"You two time to wake up." I opened my eyes my head was in Cord's chest. He was a sleep I quickly pulled away I looked in the window my face was bright red. He opened his eyes and I quickly turned away.
"Um we're here you should get your things together." I said as I made my way to the exit, as I walked past Rarity and Sapphire they were snickering.
"Do I have to go to this?" Cord asked as he dragged his hooves behind me.
"Can you just put up with it for me?" I asked he looked up and smirked.
"I didn't know we were a couple." He said I could feel the blood rushing to my face. I pondered the idea to say we were but I ended up waiting to long to respond.
"Yes you do so just put up with it." Sapphire said. He groaned as we walked into the convention center, Applebloom and Babs greeted us along with Applejack. I turned around and noticed that Cord had vanished, I looked around and spotted him across the street performing with a pony who was using a bucket as a drum along with another pony who was playing the saxophone.
"Um Sweetie Belle ya look mad." Applebloom said I walked across the street and she and Babs followed me.
"Um Cord am I interrupting something?" I asked he paid me no attention and continued playing a crowd began to form around them. Applebloom and Babs began to dance around to the music. When it was over I used my magic to grab Cord by the ear and pull him back to the reunion.
"Ow Sweetie Belle cut it out." He said
"Is he your new boyfriend or something?" Babs asked
"I wish." I said I realized what I said and they stared at me. "I mean he wishes." I said nervously and let go of Cord's ear.
"You know that really hurts." He said and Babs swooped in right to him.
"So he's available." She said with a grin and Cord looked at me for help but I decided I would leave it to him for the ditching me thing. We walked into the party Rarity was off with Applejack Cord stayed towards the edges while Babs hit on him and Applebloom and I hung out .
"So Spike broke up with ya?" She asked I nodded as I drank some cider. "That has alcohol in it ya know." Applebloom pointed out as I finished the glass. I felt a little dizzy, my mind began a little foggy,
"I'm fine." I said Applebloom rolled her eyes. We left soon after that Rarity was wasted so we had to carefully take her back to the hotel it wasn't till I got into my bed I realized that somepony was missing. The bad part was I was tipsy, I got out of my bed and stumbled to the elevator I went down and out of the building. I couldn't help but think that Cord was going to be a bigger issue than I thought. I stumbled through the crowds of ponies till I came a cross him. He had gotten into a fight, he had a black eye. I helped him back our room well it was actually more like him helping me. We got into our room I got some ice and levitated it on his eye.
"Thanks." He said we sat together on the couch, I couldn't help but stare into the one blue eye he had open. He stared back into mine, I leaned in to kiss him but I stopped myself just before I was about to make contact.
"I'm sorry." He said before walking back to his room. I was the one who started it and he said sorry, what was wrong with me! I yelled in my head why couldn't I just tell him how I feel, it was so easy with Spike but with him I can barely speak. I decided it was just alcohol talking and went to bed. The next morning I had a press conference, I got myself ready I was wearing a nice dress Cord on the other hand was wearing a hoodie. We walked out of the hotel behind Sapphire and Rarity neither one of us spoke to each other.
"Sweetie Belle is it true you have connections with the Apple family?" One reporter asked
"Yes I do." I replied
"Are you and duet partner dating?" Another one asked it seemed to be the most popular topic.
"No we aren't, we're both single." I said
"Cord someponies saw you performing on the streets what's the deal and where was Sweetie Belle."
"Um well they were good so I jumped in and they just went along with it and well Sweetie Belle was across the street catching up with her old friend." He said then all the reporters hands shot up.
"How do you feel about Sweetie Belle?" one reporter asked and Cord gave them the greatest answer ever.
"Pass." He said the reporter looked confused. "That's my business not yours."
"Um well okay then," The reporter said shyly and Sapphire took the microphone.
"I'll answer any further questions along with Rarity." She said and Cord and I were escorted through the crowd.
"So about last night." Cord said was he going to confess his feelings to me! I hoped so. "Sorry I was a bit drunk." He replied I played it off.
"It's fine really we both were, so what do you wanna do?" I asked he looked a little depressed.
"Something's come up Sweetie Belle." He said nervously.
"What is it?" I asked but I wasn't ready for what came next it was as though the world stood still.
"Look I meant to tell you last night but I need to go back to Ponyville for my brothers funeral." He said my heart stopped.
"I'll come with you." I said I couldn't imagine a life without my sister so I knew this must be hard for him. I placed my hoof on his shoulder and he brushed it off.
"No you stay here and perform. I can handle it myself." I couldn't believe it he was always one to give help but now he wasn't going to accept it.
"NO!" I yelled at him he looked up stunned. "You've always helped me with everything now it's my turn to repay the favor." I said calmly.
"Then stay here and perform I'll just hop back on the tour when it comes to Ponyville." He said smiling in the way that made me feel warm inside.
"Promise me you won't do anything stupid." I said he smirked
"Your to cute when your worry." He said I turned bright red. "Give Sapphire my regards." and with that he left me again. I was determined to make this the best concert I could. I went back to the hotel and waited for Sapphire and Rarity to come back. When they did I explained everything to them they understood and decided I made the right choice to stay here. The concert went on as planned, the next stop on our trip was the Crystal Empire. But in order to get there we were going to make a stop in Ponyville, not only to pick up Cord but to do a secret show. I couldn't wait to see home again, even though Spike was gong to be there. I go off the train not to the crowd that was usually there but to Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Twilight, my old teacher Cheerilee, and.........Spike. Of everypony why him even Diamond Tiara would've been better.
"Hey Sweetie Belle can we talk?" He asked I walked right passed him, to the shock of everypony. I just wanted to see if I could find Cord. "Look I'm sorry." He said I turne daround and smacked him with my hoof.
"We're through." I said before storming off. I found myself walking to the old clubhouse when I came to it. I almost began to cry out of remembering all the good times I had there.
"Hey I heard your train got back." I turned to see Cord there I hugged him.
"How are you?" I asked
"I'm fine." He replied as we walked back into town. I missed having Applebloom and Scootaloo around I began to wonder if they felt the same way. Cord had a smile on his face I thought it was out of place for what had just happened to him but we had a show to prepare for tonight. The show was going to be held in the town hall. I entered before Cord.
"Surprise!" Everypony in my class jumped out including Scootaloo and Applebloom. I was so surprised I didn't expect this at all I guess that why's it a surprise.
"Who's idea was this?" I asked
"Well it was short of everypony's." Applebloom said as Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon walked over to me.
"We're sorry for bullying you." They said could this day get any better. The party started I was dancing with Applebloom and Scootaloo when I noticed that Cord was missing. I was beginning to hate the fact he did this.
"Hey Sweetie Belle where are you going?" Scootaloo called out to me.
"We're missing a pony." I replied
"Button Mash is already here." Applebloom said I rolled my eyes.
"Not him Cord he was part of our club to you know." I said and they nodded in agreement. The three of us went off to find him, soon the whole class was looking for him even though most of them never actually knew him.
"YOU IDIOT!" I heard a pony sob I wen to the old music store it was up for lease, the door was open inside was Cord he was crying. "Why didn't you tell me." He cried I was about to go in after him but Applebloom stopped me.
"Let him carry on." She said it was hard for me to do and soon the others joined us. Finally I pushed past Applebloom and sat next to Cord. I didn't know what to do in this situation so finally I put hoof around him and after awhile he stopped. I couldn't help but feel sorry for him, he brushed my hoof off and left the store. I didn't bother to run after him I thought it would be best if he had some time alone. I found myself walking around with Scootaloo and Applebloom talking about what we were up to. Applebloom was about to leave to some new continent and Scootaloo was about to go several week long training exercise. It was great catching up with them, but I was still worried about Cord. I actually got to sleep in my own bed that night I had missed it among the several other things.
"What we're doing a free show tomorrow!?" I was shocked that we were. Sapphire smiled at me like she had a plan.
"Well more like Cord and you not me of course I'll open for you. Regardless yes anypony can come for free."
"But I haven't seen Cord since last night." I pointed out
"IS that so?" Cord said as he walked in he was in a better mood.
"You sure you can do this?" I asked and he smirked
"Yeah no problem." He reassured me. I went along with it but secretly I was worried that he was going to break down on stage. Regardless we went on with Sapphire's plan. The stage was set up in the middle of town, unlike the other ones I had performed on it was circular which was weird. It didn't bug Cord though, he got up and started playing his guitar and moved around the stage to get a feel for it. I got up with him and began singing, we ended up attracting a crowd. When we were done I kissed him, the crowd cheered as I did when I parted it his face was bright red. This time I didn't have a the I was drunk excuse. We walked off stage together, I was still in shock that I actually did that in front of all those ponies.
"So I didn't know we were a couple." He said with a grin.
"Well we are now." I had nothing better to say sadly. That night we performed are best to the whole town of Ponyville, everything was perfect we even danced together. At the end of the concert we stayed for the after party for once.
"Sweetie Belle you were amazing!" Pinkie Pie said I thanked her as she jumped up and down. "You were alright Cord." I laughed at Pinkie's comment. Cord rolled his eyes and joined me in signing autographs. I felt like I was on top of the world and nopony could knock me down! Next stop The Crystal Empire!
The first we saw when we entered the Crystal Empire was a giant statue of Spike holding the Crystal Heart. Sapphire must have figured out that it bugged me and slowed down so she could walk beside me.
"Don't worry just a week here then we'll leave." She said I couldn't wait for it be over as fast as possible. Cord was walking ahead of us towards a mare who had a foal in her arms and another one standing beside her.
"Cord!" The mare called out, jeez could this day get any worse he's a father.....
"Sister sup!" He replied thank Celestia. I watched as the two hugged and then I recognized one the foal's as CD.
"Cord we have to go check into the hotel." Sapphire said and he waved goodbye to them and caught back up to us. Rarity was walking beside him, I could only imagine what she was asking him. So I decided to fall behind to keep her from asking anything inappropriate.
"You didn't tell us you had a sister." Rarity said quizzically
"To be fair you never asked so I didn't feel like I had to tell you." He replied. I guessed that made sense my sister on the other didn't feel the same way towards it.
"We shouldn't have to darling." Rarity said before she sped up to catch up to Sapphire who was leading us. That's when something felt off Cord was all alone at the funeral so where was his sister and parents, not to mention the rest of his family. He must have caught on to this cause he answered me before I asked anything.
"Let's not get into it right now." He said, his tone made it clear it was a difficult subject so I decided not to bring it up anymore than I already had. After he mentioned that his mood changed from cheery to melancholy. Sapphire also noticed this transition and must have thought it was because of his brother's passing.
"Cord if you want some time to yourself to get over this just tell me." She said he looked up at her.
"It's not that, it's just something personal." He said Sapphire shrugged.
"As long as it doesn't effect your performance at the concert or how look in public." She said, she was always thinking about the P.R. and trying to keep us on the good side of the media. We got to the hotel around thirty minutes later, it was nicer than usual, there was a private hot tub, a room for each of us, and a wonderful view. Rarity was the first in the hot tub followed by Sapphire, I asked Cord if he wanted to join but he said no and went into his room.
"I think something's really bugging him." Sapphire said then we all fell silent except for the playing of an acoustic guitar and Cord singing which was weird cause it wasn't what I thought he would sing, it was softer I looked over at Sapphire and her eye's lit up. I went to talk but she put her hoof over my mouth so that we could hear the song.
"We live on front porches and swing life away,
"What's wrong?" I asked
"It's nothing." He replied he clearly didn't want to talk to me but I was determined to get him to open up to me.
"Please it'll help just tell me, you've been off since the family reunion." I said and he sighed, he rose his head before beginning to speak.
"It's nothing." He said again.
"If you ever need anything I'm here." I said as I made my way to the door not expecting him to do anything.
"Wait, could you just....stay for awhile." He asked I didn't see anything wrong with it so I got back onto the bed with him. We stayed together for the rest of the night and in the morning Sapphire was freaking out thinking that some reporter saw this and thought it was going to blow up into a sex scandal.
"What were you thinking if this gets out your done for!" She yelled at Cord and me, Cord was back to his usual relaxed self.
"You worry to much." He replied and she glared at him.
"Well sorry mister to cool to care if I find it a little bothersome if you just popped Sweetie Belle's cherry." My face went red and so did his.
"THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!!" We both yelled in unison and Sapphire rolled her eyes at us. I couldn't believe I was actually having this conversation right now with her. I mean I dated Spike for two years and I didn't let him get close to doing that, so I wouldn't even think about doing it with a pony who I just started going out with. But that didn't matter to Sapphire.
"From now on separate hotel rooms." She said we both groaned at this statement before continuing with breakfast. We finished and went down to where we were suppose to have the press conference. Sapphire as always was the first to the podium she announced us and walked in. She stepped down and I stepped up.
"When will Cord's single album be made?" Was the first question none of us had an answer for that so Sapphire took over.
"Cord will not have an album he simply here to help Sweetie Belle with her tour and that's it." She said the reporter wasn't satisfied yet.
"So do all the ponies who want to hear his music don't matter?" He asked Sapphire looked confused
"No what I am saying is we haven't signed any form of contract." She said and the reporter grinned as he came closer.
"Then Cord would you like to sign a contract to Ponywood records?" He asked Sapphire looked in disbelief as Cord took the contract and read it over. She looked at me for help followed by Cord doing the same.
"Cord and I are dating." I said and the reporters began writing it down and Cord handed back the contract. With that everypony's hands shot up, it took for what seemed like hours to get out of there and back at the hotel wasn't to much better.
"Alright you two now to discuss how to handle this." Sapphire said as we took our seats around a coffee table.
"What does that mean shouldn't we just act like we have been acting?" Cord asked it was clear he didn't know the first thing about this business.
"No, you two now need to be seen together and with no pony of the opposite gender. Not to mention you two now need to act like your completely in love with each other. Now for the matter of your contract Cord." Sapphire laid a piece of paper in front of. "Just sign here and when this tour is over you can start recording." Cord pushed it back to her.
"No, like I said in the beginning I'm only doing the tour then I'm going back to running my store." He replied Sapphire looked ready to explode on him.
"Why your talented and ponies like you." Rarity replied she was always trying to get known and now that was she didn't like to see ponies who could be famous just throw it away.
"Because I don't want it." He replied Rarity was obviously wanting a better answer so he elaborated. "I like being around my family and friends more than being famous and not seeing them at all." Rarity must have felt something when he said that because she didn't ask anything else. Sapphire gave up trying to get him on a contract and Cord and I went out for a walk.
"You know if you signed on we could hang out more." I said as I walked beside him.
"Here let me ask you something." He said I nodded that it was okay we stopped at somewhere far off from the city. "Do you miss Scootaloo and Applebloom?" It was something I never considered they were for me signing the contract but I never thought I would see them so little.
"Yes I miss them but they for me getting the contract." I replied and he looked up at the sky.
"The night is wonderful isn't it." He said I looked up and couldn't help but admire it. After that we headed back to the Hotel. We slept in the next day because it was one of our few "free days" by that I mean a day where we go around and try to increase our positive P.R. but in today it was different it was trying to increase my relationship with Cord's P.R. That meant we would have to spend the entire day together doing things that other one likes, doesn't sound half bad right well put in also that we're constantly being mobbed by some fans, which makes it hard to act like a couple.
Our day started with a trip to the mall there I tried on clothes and modeled them for Cord. Sapphire was always within some distance to come over if I was trying on something inappropriate. It wasn't to bad though until we went to check out and the clerk was a fan of ours, so we signed one autograph which turned into ten. After that we headed to the supposedly the most romantic place in the Crystal Empire on the way though we passed some ponies playing music with some buckets, a lyre, and a flute. Which Cord pulled me over to see though I wasn't that interested in street performances as he was. Some how he convinced me to join him and he pulled to the front of the crowd where we danced around with each other. It was different than when I was performing that always had a set routine but this was special. I didn't know if it was because I was with him instead of Spike or that because I was having a wonderful time, it was a moment I wish would never end. When the music stopped we moved on, though we started being more playful with each other after our little dance.
"Hey do you wanna skip this make out point thing?" I asked looking at the list Sapphire gave us.
"Sure sounds pretty boring if you ask me." He said so I grabbed his hoof and pulled him along back to the hotel so we could drop off my bags. After that we headed through the town to an arcade. Most ponies there didn't know me except for my song I do with Cord so we were unrecognized for once. We started with air-hockey then moved onto a fighting game which I beat him in. By the time we were through it was time for dinner neither of us wanted to go to someplace fancy so we ended up eating at a sandwich place.
"Maybe we should head back." I suggested but Cord had other plans.
"Why the night's still young you know." He said I thought about it for a moment.
"Fine desert then hotel." I said
"Sounds like a plan." He replied and we left of course we had no idea where to go but that didn't bother us to much. We found ourselves at a bar we had a few shots before deciding to head back to the hotel. On the way he stopped me.
"So this is what the real you looks like?" He said looking me over I was confused.
"What?" I asked
"Well your always acting like your perfect and now your a tipsy, you've gone against Sapphire, adn when we were dancing you made up the moves. So I say this is what the real you looks like." He replied and I had to ask him something in return.
"Which one do you prefer?" I asked, he smiled it made me feel like I had butterflies in my stomach.
"The one I'm looking at." He replied I leaned in and kissed him, when we parted we hurried back to the hotel. Where an unhappy Rarity was waiting for us.
"Where have you been you were suppose to be back two hours ago and why to I smell whiskey?" She said as she took me back to her room. I couldn't help but feel like a teenager getting scorned by their parents for doing something they don't regret. "How was it?"
"It was great!" I said I guess she felt happy for me cause all she could do was smile.
"I wish I could see you this happy more often." She replied. Then she did something I wouldn't have expected her to allow me to do. "Go on to bed with your boyfriend just don't tell Sapphire I let you." She said nudging me to the door.
"You serious?" I asked she gave me a smile and nodded. I walked over to Cord's room and got into bed with him. He put his hoof around me and we fell asleep. I don't know if I was just exhausted or the alcohol but I haven't slept that good in forever. In the morning Sapphire woke me up, she obviously knew she was fighting a loosing battle with us.
"You two get the day off again today." She said. Two days in a row never happened I would've gotten up but I was happy staying in bed and Cord was still asleep. After fifteen minutes I got out of the bed, it was 10:45 in the morning, I yawned and went to see what was for breakfast oddly enough Rarity and Sapphire weren't anywhere in the room so I turned on the T.V. to the channel that normally had my press conferences on it. On it I saw Rarity and Sapphire standing before the reporters.
"Where is Sweetie Belle and Cord?" One of them asked
"They wanted to spend the day together." Sapphire said.
"Bu this conference is suppose to have them. Isn't that laziness?" Rarity took over for once.
"I have lived with Sweetie Belle since she was little and I will say that when she is around Cord her best side comes out and she drops the act to please you reporters. So is it to much for her to ask for one day to herself so she can be herself with her boyfriend." She said the reporters all muttered amongst themselves. I couldn't believe that Sapphire thought that this was okay. Then they proceeded to do an interview with my sister about living with me as a filly.
"What's to eat?" Cord asked as he walked into the room. I looked around nothing was made already.
"I don't know nothing was left out." I said as I continued watching Rarity talk about my childhood.
"Well then let's make something." He said.
"Let's not last time I cooked I turned toast into a liquid." I said and he laughed.
"How did you manage that."
"I'm not sure it just happened." I got off the couch and walked over to see if there was anything we wouldn't have to cook. I didn't find anything and I was hoping Cord could cook or else the hotel might catch fire. "Maybe we should go get brunch." Cord took me up on my suggestion and we left to go find somewhere to eat. We couldn't find anyplace so we headed back to the hotel where we got into the hot tub. Soon after we did Rarity and Sapphire got back.
"Thank you Rarity." I said as she walked in.
"Don't think anything of it if you two weren't asleep we probably would've forced you to go." She said as she went into her room. Sapphire laid down on the couch.
"You two are aware that you have a concert tomorrow right?" She asked
"We know." I said
"Good cause you start practicing tonight and no if's, and's, or but's about it." She said Cord groaned at the mention of practice. "Oh and the next concert we'll be performing will be on Nightmare Night so Cord you'll be performing a couple of songs by yourself." Cord had no comment on the subject except a yawn. "As for the concert tonight you two will perform all the songs on stage together, I trust that Cord knows all your songs." Cord looked more nervous than usual.
"I um don't.." He said Sapphire nearly had a heart attack.
"What have you been listening to!?" She yelled
"Well.....my music....." He replied sheepishly the fact he didn't listen to my music was somewhat insulting.
"What do you mean you don't listen to my music?" I asked as I glared him in the eyes.
"Then you can do the entire show by yourself!" I yelled Sapphire gave me a signal to stop now.
"Well you see then we would have to change it to a tribute concert instead." He said then Sapphire got a grin on her face.
"I just need to call the studio." She said as she walked out of the room. Cord looked like he knew he was in the dog house with me currently.
"Well Cord what are you going to say?" I asked he looked around hoping to find something that would help him out of this.
"I think I'm going to go get a drink." He laughed nervously and made way to the door. I rolled my eyes and followed just as Sapphire walked back in.
"Well I have good news Sweetie Belle you get the day off tomorrow as for Cord he'll perform by himself for once." She said
"I'm gong to need a lot more to drink then." He left and Sapphire looked at me for help but I had nothing.
"Go make sure he doesn't do anything stupid." She said and I ran after him.
Around three shoots and four beers Cord was drunk, of course bringing him back to the hotel was a difficult task. Luckily for me magic helped a lot, when we got back I found myself putting him to bed. I walked out of his room to find Rarity sitting on the couch watching one of her soap operas.
"He's lucky he's cute." I said as I sat down next to her.
"I wouldn't have noticed, do you think he can pull it off tomorrow?" She asked I had no idea I would've assumed so but at the same time I have never seen him put on a show by himself.
"I guess so but I'm not sure." I replied my sister dozed off on the couch. In the morning we walked down to the stage everything was set up for Cord. Rarity had wanted to dress him up but he had fought to the end about it so she gave up reluctantly. I watched him practice he was doing fine without the crowd, it helped me see that this was going to work out in the end. After a few hours it was time I found myself watching from the side lines as Cord performed songs from his favorite bands. The crowd wasn't full of the typical ponies I attracted. Little fillies, they're parents, a couple of teenagers here and there but this crowd was almost full of ponies who dressed like Cord. They song along to every song he played every so often he wouldn't sing the chorus and let them do it instead. I looked at Sapphire who smiled and had a devious grin on her face.
"Sweetie Belle the studio wants you to get him to sign with us." She said I looked at her confused
"How?" I asked
"By whatever means." She said.
The show finished I was uneasy about going behind Cord's back to get him to sign with the studio. I knew he didn't want to sign but at the same time I didn't want to jeopardize loosing my contract. Our next stop was in Las Pegasus Cord was excited to say the least, whether it was for the night clubs or the actual show had yet to be seen. I wasn't to thrilled about it though, I was more or less worried about somehow screwing everything up with the contract. We got our stuff unpacked and made our selves at home in the condo. By the time we were done Cord was already down in the casino, Sapphire was worried about him getting drunk so she had me walk down and keep an eye on him. But by the time Rarity would allow to go into public Cord had already returned and fallen asleep on the couch. Sapphire left to go talk to the pony in charge about our performance leaving me with my sister.
"So Sapphire has you doing her dirty work now?" She asked I thought she didn't know about what Sapphire wanted me to do.
"What would you do if you were me?" I asked she pondered the thought for a moment.
"Depends do you love him?" She asked I put everything on the table and decided that I just liked him right now.
"I mean he's fun but I don't love him." I said
"Then I would worry more about your career and get him to sign." Rarity said. So I decided that night I was going to get him to sign the contract. He woke up around an hour later, I decided it might be easier if I sort of buttered him up for it.
"What time is it?" He yawned I looked at the clock.
"It's four in the afternoon." I replied as he got back onto the couch. He was almost as lazy as Rainbowdash when I first knew her. "I was thinking we could go out tonight." his ear perked up upon mentioning this. "There's a few clubs I want to go to."
"Sure when do you want to go?" He asked
"How about in an hour?" I offered though I knew it really didn't matter to him.
"Sure." he said. An hour later we were off in the Las Pegasus strip. I realized that my plan wouldn't work if Cord got drunk so I had to keep him from drinking. At the same time I would have to make sure I stayed sober. Over all Cord's spirits were at an all time high now it was just the matter of getting him back to the hotel and signing the contract and everything would be perfect.
"Come on Cord." I said as I pulled him out of the club we walked slowly back to the hotel. Upon entering Sapphire was ready at the table with the contract and pen he sat on the opposite side of her, and I sat next to her and Rarity. There was a still silence in the air as she passed it to Cord.
"If you want to continue working with Sweetie Belle we need you to sign this." Sapphire said and Cord's high spirit died.
"Then I quiet." He replied coldly shock over took me.
"But why aren't you happy going on stage and entertaining ponies?" Sapphire asked but I wasn't prepared for what came next in the debate.
"Sorry if I find it a bit insulting to find out I've been being played from the start. I leave tomorrow morning." He replied it wasn't the case at all. I realized I messed up and I needed to fix it before it got out of hand. Cord took the contract wadded it up and threw back at Sapphire then he made his way back to his room, I caught him before he could enter it.
"Cord wait it's not like that." I said desperately trying to keep my heart from breaking again.
"Then what is it like? Because to me it seems like you just went out with me so I would sign a contract with your studio and boost your popularity." He said before shutting the door in my face. That night I couldn't sleep, I couldn't stop thinking about what he had said to me and when I got up in the morning he was gone.
"Sweetie Belle I'm sorry." Sapphire said this was all her fault.
"This is all your fault!" I yelled at the top of my lungs before locking myself in my room. Two break ups in four months, but for some reason this one hurt a lot more. It felt like I was dying. I wanted to fix this even if it meant loosing my career. I stayed in there for the entire day my sister talked to me through the door she blamed herself for this but it was my fault. Nothing felt right for the rest of the tour there was always that one thing that was missing. The part that Cord filled, there were reports on the news here and there about him but I tried not to pay attention to them to much. I found myself with a clear schedule for a month, I planned on spending all that time in Ponyville.
"Hey Sweetie Belle I know what will make you feel better."Rarity said as she came into my room.
"What?" I asked she laid a handful of tickets to some ball on my bed.
"Getting back out there what do you say?" She asked I had nothing better to do and I was tired of just moping around.
"Sure why not." I said. Rarity smiled as she walked out, I assumed that it might be best for me just to move on. At the same time though I wondered what Cord was doing now and if he was just as broken up as me. I walked out of my room and downstairs.
"Where are you going?" Rarity asked truth was I just felt like going outside.
"Out for a little bit." I replied I walked through the streets of Ponyville until I found myself at the castle. I knocked on the door and Spike answered.
"Sweetie Belle?" He looked shocked to see me, but I guess I would be to if somepony smacked me and said it was over.
"I'm sorry for hitting you." I said sheepishly. He walked outside and allowed the door to close behind him.
"It's fine but why are you here?" He asked I looked up at him I had forgotten how much taller he was than me.
"I wanted to know if you wanted to go to this ball with me?" I asked
"Um like a date?" He asked
"I guess." I replied he looked rather relieved when I said that.
"Sure. Where is it?"
"The invitation said it was in the Crystal Empire something about the anniversary of when it returned to Equestria."
"Alright." I left after that and went home and got ready, Rarity already had a wonderful dress picked out for me. It was a mix of blue and pink, it had a tiara with it along with a matching necklace. She did my mane and make up. When she was done I found myself on the train with Spike I was surprised he didn't get an invitation since he was a hero there. The train came to a stop we were right on time, we got off and Spike escorted me to the castle ball room. Princess Cadence and Shining Armor were there greeting the guests. We walked in and it was as if a bomb went off everypony rushed over to us. Eventually the excitement died down allowing Spike and me to have some time alone.
"Well that was something." He said as we walked around outside for a bit. I found myself watching the music group that Cord and I danced to when I was here with him. They had picked up a new member he played guitar, at first I thought I knew him but I erased the thought from my head as it started raining. Despite the rain the guitarist kept playing as the others left. Spike pulled on my arm to go back inside. I followed him back inside even though my mane and make up were ruined. So I ran to the bathroom and salvaged what I could from it, admittedly I wasn't as good as my sister. When I walked out I noticed that the everypony in the music group except for the guitarist made their way inside. They had taken the place of the band much to the enjoyment of Princess Cadence.
"Hey Sweetie Belle you alright?" Spike asked as he took a look at me, like I said earlier I was a complete mess.
"Maybe coming here tonight was a mistake." I said he gently raised my head so he could look me in eyes.
"Hey the night is still young you know so how about we go dance?" He asked I allowed him to lead to the area that the group was playing at. I looked out the window as we passed it and I recognized the guitarist it was Cord but I didn't get why he was playing out in the rain. At the same time I suddenly felt guilty for being with Spike but I decided to ignore the guilt and enjoy myself.
We danced until the group stopped playing, it was just as enjoyable as the first the time. It was now thundering outside so we decided to stay longer and most of the guests had the same idea as us. Spike was talking to the Princess as I got a drink, it was a strong one I felt like I needed to loosen up a bit. I swallowed it before returning to Spike who was looking at his own stain glass window picture. I forgot how self centered he could be at times.
"Spike." I said and he waved me off.
"Just a minute." He replied I groaned this night was close to being a disaster. I couldn't see how it could possibly get any worse. I soon regretted thinking it after I found Spike flirting with a group of mares.
"Hey what's the big idea?" I asked angrily. He acted like he didn't do anything wrong which pissed me off even more.
"I didn't think you would care." He replied and I turned around to leave even though it was still raining. "Sweetie Belle where are you going?"
"Home I should've never had come to this thing." I said as I ran out. I wish I could've said I went home and never talked to Spike again but that wouldn't be true instead something made me stop near Cord the fact he was still playing even though there was a storm. He looked up from his guitar at me and I walked over.
"Lovely weather we're having huh." He said as he stopped playing.
"Why do you keep playing through this?" I asked and he just smiled.
"I was hoping the rain would wash away the pain in my heart that a mare gave me." He said and I instantaneously felt guilty.
"Look Cord I'm sorry." I said I was getting soaked and I felt rather embarrassed by it.
"You know the rain provides a good look for you." He said I couldn't believe he actually thought that.
"In what way?" I asked in return
"It washes away all that make up you have on so it shows the real you." He said as Spike walked down to us.
"Sweetie Belle look I screwed up." Spike said and nightmares became reality both my ex's in one spot. I changed my mind now this day couldn't get any worse I thought to myself. I couldn't force myself to speak, I looked back and forth between them.
"I'm sorry Spike I just can't go back there with you." I said he looked a little disappointed but I think he was happy he could go flirt with every mare that had a good flank now. He walked off leaving me with Cord both of us were soaked at this point. "So you want to go to that party?" I hoped the answer was going to be yes.
"No, the truth is I should probably be getting back to my place. I leave for Ponyville to start my new job as the music teacher and to re-open my brother's music store." He said I never had thought about being a music teacher it actually sounded kind of nice.
"Um I know this might be an awkward question but can I go home with you?" I asked wanting to get out of the rain.
"Sure come on." He said. He lead me to an apartment building where we stayed till morning. I don't know if whether it was the guilt or if I loved him but part of me didn't want to go back on a tour or a press conference but to stay in Ponyville with my friends and family but mainly Cord. The train left the station a little late because an old married couple were complaining about their seats and how they were located to a little foal probably around four months old. There was no sign of Spike which was a relief to me.
"Hey Cord I'm still in town for a few days could I work in the music store with you?" I asked
"Sure." He said sometime later the train came to a stop and we got our stuff and headed to the old store, it really needed to be cleaned up there were cob webs everywhere not to mention several layers of dust.
"We're going to need help." I said looking at the paint chipping off the walls.
"You know anypony?" He asked as he began to clear everything out.
"I know plenty of ponies." I replied as I helped him move one the shelves. "I'm thinking about quieting my career."
"Any ideas on what you would do?"
"Well I was going to ask if I could work here or I could give being a teacher a shot."
"Go for it and if need any help just ask me." He was to kind to me after I went behind his back, I didn't know why but at the same time I didn't really care to much. "Could you go get those ponies to help us cause at this rate we'll be here all week." He said as he took off his hoodie and headphones. It was the first time I had ever seen him without them on. I took in for a moment before heading off to get help. My journey first took me to Sweet Apple Acres.
"Hey Sweetie Belle what can Ah help ya with?" Applebloom asked
"Well you see Cord's re-opening the old music store and the place needs an over hall and its more work than the two of us can handle. Can you help us?" I asked
"Better yet Ah can get my sister and brother to help to." She said as she walked back to the house. Next I got Scootaloo and the three of us met back at the music store.
"So where are we going to begin?" Scootaloo asked as we looked at the mess that laid before us.
"Moving the furniture out of the way." Cord replied as he got to work. I was pushing another shelf with the help of Applebloom.
"I thought you could get your sister and brother to come." I said
"They had to work on the farm." She replied as we pushed it out the door by everything else.
"Next is dusting and sweeping." Cord said and Scootaloo didn't like that plan.
"This place needs more like a complete washing." She said
"We can't do that because we also have to paint." Cord replied and Scootaloo sighed.
"Fine, let's just get this done already." She said. In all the process took us about three hours and we still had a lot to do.
"Now we need to paint." Cord said
"I have some you can use." Applebloom said she went and got it. It was the color they used to paint the barn though Cord didn't really care to much. We got ourselves situated and started painting. When some of Cord's paint dropped on me I flung some playfully on him.
"Hey." he said as he flung some back it got on my coat. It wasn't long before we all started throwing paint on each other when we ran out we realized that the ways had red paint splatters all over them
"Sorry Cord." Scootaloo and Applebloom said.
"It looks better this way." He said, he never stopped surprising me. "Now if we could get several other colors then we could just fling it all on the wall."
"I have some you can use." We turned around it was our old teacher Miss Cheerilee. We walked with her to get the paint she had almost every color imaginable. "This is from when I first moved into my house as you can see I had a bit of trouble picking a color out." She joined us in flinging the paint on the walls. It wasn't long before Rarity, Rainbowdash, Applejack, Pinkie, and even Fluttershy joined in on the fun. When we were finally finished the walls and ceiling looked like a splattered rainbow. We began moving the furniture back into the store, it was finally over and I felt like I was about to die.
"So are you two together?" Pinkie asked as she looked at Cord and me. We looked at each other and smiled.
"Yes." We said at the same time.
"So you should name the store Sweetie Belle and Cord's no wait the other way around!" Pinkie shouted
"It already has a name Pinkie Remix's" Cord said
"Not as catchy as what I was saying." Pinkie said and everypony rolled their eyes.
"Um Sweetie Belle don't you go back on tour in a few days?" Rarity asked in all the excitement I had forgotten to tell her that I was quieting my career as a singer.
"Actually I was going to quiet that." I said and everypony gasped.
"But why?" Fluttershy asked I looked at Cord.
"Well a pony once told me that they would rather be with their friends and family than be famous." I said.
"Well then if that's the case I hope you have a plan." Rarity replied
"Well I'm going to work here." I said which was followed by Scootaloo making kissy faces at me and Cord. "What's that suppose to mean?" I asked she gave me and evil grin before responding.
"Oh nothing I just think you have some other things you two will be working onto if you catch my drift." She nudged my arm and my face turned red.
"Hey that's none of your business!" I yelled and she and everypony laughed. "It's not funny!" I said it made it worse.
"Sweetie Belle I have never seen so red before." Rarity laughed. I groaned and saw that Cord was laughing along to, and I lightened up a bit. "Relax we're just messing with you."
"Well then Cord where's the things your gonna sell?" Rainbowdash asked
"They don't come in till tomorrow." He replied and with that they left us, I helped him unpack his things in the upstairs of the room before heading home myself.
