Powcon (Power Pony convention)
Inside an apartment in Manehattan.
“ Almost there,” said Humble Pie writing his new book “The Adventures of Straw Hat”. “And...done! Now to get this bad boy to edit-” said Humble before hearing a crash from the living room. “Huh?”
Trotting to the living room he saw the sight of his best friend/roommate Coil Sparks along with his alligator Slit in a mess of papers and comic books.
“Hi Humble,” said Coil getting up from the ground. “Sorry cut myself turning a page of the latest Power Ponies comic book!” he said holding a the new issue with the words “Ultimate Power Ponies: Wink” along with a picture of the team surrounded by the heads of their foes.
“I see that,” said Humble maneuvering to the couch. “What’s with all the typing?” he said pointing at a typewriter on the coffee table.
“I’m writing a fanfic!” said Coil with a gleam in his eyes.
“Oh boy,” said Humble remembering how fans would take his characters and ship them. “You're not shipping mistress Marvelous and your oc Bright Witch are you? You know how fans hate it when you ship canon characters with ocs.”
“Of course not!” said Coil, slidding a page titled “sexytimes with misttress/witch” on it under the couch. “Just come and listen.”
“Alright,” said Humble getting comfortable with Slit at his hoofs as the two listened to Coil’s fanfic.
“It was a night time in the city of Maretrotpolis, with all its citizens asleep in bed...well almost all. Above a dark alley stood Mistress Marvelous looking down across the street to a lamp store while police bells rang across the city.
“Attention!” said a police pony on a speakerphone. “The criminal Bright Witch is on the loose after escaping Maretrotpolis prison for the criminally insane, please remain in doors.”
As the voice faded Marvelous just listened and waited.
“Where is he?” hissed Marvelous to herself. “He was supposed to be here at-wait. What’s that sound?” she said hearing a trashcan being knocked over. Looking over the railing into the alleyway she saw her sidekick Humdrum fumbling around the alley way before looking up.
“Hehehe,” Humdrum chuckled nervously. “Sorry?”
“Ugh,” said Marvelous fachoofing. “Humdrum how many times do I have to tell you to be careful and use the roof tops!” she hissed.
“Um, well you see I was walking across the street and I saw this ice cre-” said Humdrum before being interrupted by a rope dangling in front of him.
“Just get up here,” said Marvelous tieing the other end to a hook. “The ladder is stuck.”
Climbing up Humdrum saw Marvelous sitting at the ledge of the railing staring at the store.
“So you think she’s gonna come?” said Humdrum danglings his hoofs thru the railing.
“As sure as Mani acs hairs is green,” replied Marvelous.
After waiting for a few more minutes the two heros saw a cloaked figure enter the store thru a side window.
“That must be her!” said Marvelous jumping off the ledge with Humdrum in her arms. “Come on!”
They galloped across the street and jumped into the window to the sight of Bright Witch chanting with lamps levitating around her.
“You're under arrest Bright!” yelled Marvelous to the criminal.
Chuckling at this Bright turned around. “Oh I’m afraid you won’t be in any position for arresting me with your sidekick being dangled over a electricized water,” she said quickly levitating Humdrum over a tub of water and a toaster while Humdrum just yelled.
“Humdrum!” shouted Marvelous. “Give him back Bright!”
“Oh don’t worry,” said Bright with a smirk. “you’ll be reunited soon….in death!”
“Why’d you stop?” said Humble Pie as he watched Copil bring out his costume box. “It was getting pretty good.”
“I wanna see how the people at powcon (Power Ponies fan convention) think about it,” said COil coming out of his closet dressed as Zapp, the speedster of the group. “How do I look?”
“Like my niece when she sent me this photo,” said Humble showing Coil a pic of Pinkie in her Zapp costume. “What are you even doing dressing up as Zapp for?”
“It’s not a dressing up,” said Coil with an offended tone. “It’s cosplay, all the kids are doing it.”
“I think that’s Nightmare Night Coi,” said Humble.
“Please Humble I gotta go now and I would like to leave with some dignity,” Coil said as he finished tightening the latex suit. “Good day,” he said closing the door.
“Have fun!” said Humble sitting down to watch tv before a bellow from Slit stopped him. “What’s wrong Slit?” said Humble only for Slit to bellow in reply. “Worried? Why should I be worried? He’s only going to a fan convention.”
“Wow!” said Coil as he looked at the sight of the Manehattan convention center before him. A banner among a rushing crowd of Power Ponies fans read “Powcon thirty-five”. “It’s amazing!” said Coil picking a wedgie from the latex suit. “Well better head on in.”
The inside of the Convention center was even more awe inspiring than the outside due to the amazing amount of comic book artists and fans cosplaying while the walked among everything Power Pony related.
“‘Scuse me,” said little purple dragon dressed as Humdrum poking Coil. “Umm two things, first nice Zapp outfit.”
“Thanks!” said Coil with a prideful tone.
“Second do you know what time it is?” said the dragon.
“Well,” said Coil looking at a wall clock. “It think it’s eleven thirty.”
“Already!?” said the dragon. “I gotta hurry if I want to see Cane Walker!”
“Cane Walker!?” said Coil with a wide mouth. “As in the creator of Mistress Marvelous!?”
“The very same!” said the dragon with a huge smile. “But I don’t think I’ll make it in tim-woah!” said the dragon while being picked up by the stallion.
“Don’t worry-umm what’s your name?” said Coil getting ready to gallop.
“Spike,” said Spike holding on tight for what was to come.
“Well Spike I got this!” Coil said before galloping in a flash to the Cane Walker appearance.
Arriving there they saw a huge crowd of fans looking at their idol, a green coated, elderly stallion.
“Squee!” said fanboying Coil and Spike.
“I wonder if he’ll sign my whip,” said Coil cracking his whip.
“Ow!” said a fan.
“Sorry!” said a blushing Coil.
After meeting Cane (while trying to hug him) and looking at the other exhibits Coil went to see the fanfiction section to see the famous fan writers of the fandom, he saw a group of two famous fanfic writers, Trak and Myster of the group Powfic.
“Oh my Cane!” said Coil jumping up and down in front of the two writers while other Powies (nickname for fans of the Power Pony fandom) waited behind him. “Could you two please read my fic!” said Coil using it in front of them.
“Sure,” said Myster with a shrug before he and Trak started reading the fic. After five seconds Myster had a disgusted look on him. “How dare you ship your oc with a canon character!”
“But,” said Coil with a nervous chuckle as other Powies surrounded him. “I thought-”
“No you didn’t think, you shitwad!” said Trak grabbing a bat. “Buck this guy and buck anypony who encoureges him! Also Humdrum is so out of character!”
As the vicious swarm of Powies surrounded Coil, he did the only thing he could do.
“Zapp away!” said Coil before speeding out of there, after awhile of more exhibit looking and hiding from fanatic Powies Coil headed home.
“So how was the convention?” said Humble looking up from his book to a sweating Coil.
“It was great!” said Coil with a jump. “I met Cane Walker, got attacked by a swarm of fanatics, engaged in a shipping war, and look at what I got!” he said pulling out of picture. “I bought some artwork of Marvelous!”
“Umm, Coil,” said Humble tilting his head at the picture. “That’s porn.”
But Coil was too busy heading to his room to hear Humble.
“Oh well,” said Hum,ble returning to his book only to hear a cry of help.
“Humble I’m stuck in my costume!” shouted Coil.
“Well this looks like a job for Humble,” said Humble getting some scissors.
