The garden of the house of Duke Night Light were decorated festively for his 50th birthday courtesty of Pinkie Pie.Sounds of laughter and talking were heared from the guest but their joy cannot be compared to Princess Twilight Sparkle who was nuzzling her father at the veranda.

"Happy birthday dad."she said as she took out a gift from her saddle bag with her magic and gave it to Night Light.

Night Light looked estactic when she presented her gift which was a book titeled 'Intensive study on Pony Medicine'by Doctor Medical Health.Night Light is the director of Canterlot Medical Centre.

"How did you know."

"Your my dad of course I know what you want for your birthday and it dosen't take a genius to figure out you really want this book.You told Spike to tell me."

His father smile sheapishly.She gave her dad a kiss on the cheek and hugged her dad.Their momment were ended by a familiar Stallion.

"Happy Birthday,dad.Sorry for being late."

Night Light pulled Shining Armor into a stalliony(manly) hug.He then greeted Cadence with a kiss on the

"Your not late at all son."

He flash a slight curios look at Cadence ."Uhm...yes."

"Don't you have something to tell me, I don't know maybe....about foals."

Twilight steped in front of her father."You have to forgive dad,he just can't wait to be a grandpa."

Cadence and Shining Armor's faces turned red.

Shining scratched his head."We....uh haven't got much time to you know to make foals..."

"But I can assure you Night Light,we are planning to have a foal."she said while giving a wink to her husband.

"Well when you do have a foal and you two need some alone time you can leave him or her with his Grandpa Night Light."

Cadence chuckled and put a hoof on his shoulder."We'll keep that in mind."

"There you are,the guest are wondering where Duke Night Light is..."said a voice coming from a mare with a white coat and purple and white mane.

"Oh I'm just talking to my kids and daughter in law."

Cadence and Shining Armor greeted Twilight Velvet with a nuzzle and kiss on the cheek.

Suddenly,Pinkie Pie came in front of Night Light wearing a party hat."Duke Night Light your needed at the party after all this is your birthday party and what is a birthday party without the birthday pony."

Twilight grabbed his hoof."C'mon dad,let's enjoy your party."

Night Light gentelly put her hoof down."I'm waiting for somepony,you guys go ahead."

"Well,okay then but don't wait to long."Twilight said before she was dragged out of the veranda by Pinkie Pie.

Night Light watched as he saw them gallioping towards the garden.His main focus however was Twilight,her little filly.He wonders somtime who would take care of her when his gone.Not that she can't take care of herself,she defeated Tirek for pony sakes.It's just that,he wants Twilght to have a stallion that will be there for her always and love her too no end.Luckily,he found just the stallion who can do just that.

His toughts were disturbed by a certain white stallion with a blond mane."Professor Night Light."

Night Light smiled warmly at that stallion and him also."Blueblood,I thought you won't show up."

Twilight Sparkle took a sip from her apple cider at a table with Rainbow Dash,Applejack and Fluttershy.Pinkie Pie was dancing to the poney pokey on the dance floor while Rarity was mingeling with some nobels.As she took another sip from her cider she heared Rarity's shrill voice that sounded like she was annoyed with something or somepony.

Rarity took an apple cider from a passing waiter pony and sat down with her friends.

She gulped down her drink with one shot.Twilight spoke up first."Ummm Rarity do you mind telling us why your all irritated. "

Rarity scoffed."Irritated is not the right word to decribe what I'm feeling right now.I'm more furious."

"At who."said Rainbow Dash with a confused look on her face as well as the other ponies.

Rarity smacked her hoof on the table."At that snobbish,vain Prince Blueblood of course."

"Dangnabbit,why's that no good,stuck up noble here at Duke Night Light's birthday party."It was Applejack's turn to smack the table.

"Calm down girls,for all we've know he's changed."Twilight tried to calm the situation.

"Him.... changed....I don't think so."replied Rarity.

"Well...has he did anything bad to you at the party recently."spoke Fluttershy.

Rarity hung her head down.Her once angry expression turned into shame."Well,no."

"Then,maybe there is slight possibility he's changed.."Adviced Twilight.

"But he insulted my fritters.No one insults my fritters."

"Actually your fritters were actually smashing."The five mares turned their heads to the pony from who that compliment came from.To their astonishment it was Prince Blueblood.

Rarity jumped in front of him and pointed a hoof towards his face."You."She said in a shrill voice."Do you know how much you annoyed me at the Grand Galloping Gala the last two years."

Blueblood tried to back up as Rarity was stalking him only to bump into Applejack.

He hunged his head low in shame.He took a deep breath and sighed."I'm sorry for being such a total jerk to you and Miss Applejack."Rarity and Applejack backed away from him.

He continued."You see,before the night of the Grand Galloping Gala I had a teribble day and I wasn't in the mood to go to a party but my friend said it can help me let of some steam.So,I went anyway and I was very annoyed that you were swooning over me.I thought you were just like the other gold digging mares who were only after me for my wealth and title.So,I acted like a pompus,stuck up noble in hopes you'll give up.I know that I went to far when I used you as a shield."

"Again sorry about that."He said after noticing Rarity look of displeasure.

He turned his gaze towards Applejack"And Applejack I want to appologize being very rude about you fritters.They were actually very good,extremely good to be exact."

"Why,a week ago I bought all your pastries from a filly named Applebloom in a school bake sale.When I went home I devoured all your treats in one day which was not a good idea."Blueblood shrugged his shoulder of the memmory him having constipations after eating too much of Aplejack's treats.

"You mean your that stallion Applebloom's been talking about that helped her and her friends win the new scooter for scotaloo."

"Yes."Blueblood noded.His faced turned serious."Went I went home I realise that I was an idiot for treating  you horribly,just because I had a bad day.I wanted to apologize right away but..."

"But...what."Rarity asked

He sighed."But I guess at that time I don't have the courage to do so afraid you'll reject my apology.I finally mustered up the courage when you friend Pinkie Pie told...well rather sang to be exact a song about apologizing.In that song she told me that if you do something bad apologize even if you think the pony you've wronged won't accept your apology."

Suddenly,the sound of a loud noice maker was heared and all eyes darted towards Pinkie Pie who was

standing next to Blueblood.

Rarity looked at Applejack and she returned with a nod and smile.

Prince Blueblood could not contain his gratitude as he hugged the two mares.Rarity and Applejack were a bit shocked but they returned his hug."Thank you Rarity,Applejack.You don't know how much this relieves me."

Twilight cleared her voice which got their attention.They turned around to face her."So,now that were all okay now Prince Blueblood."

Blueblood cut her off."Please just call me Blue."

"Alright  Blue take a sit next to me and let us make a toast to..."

Blue cut her off again."Sit ...next to y-you...really."he said with a slight slutter.

"That is what I just said."

"Okay."He walked towards Twilight and took a seat next to her.

His heart was pounding.This is the closest he has ever been with Twilight Sparkle.Being Princess Celestia's nephew,he would often see Twilight with his aunt but he never got the courage to talk to her.It was like everytime he wanted to speak to her,he would froze and won't know what to say or do.Princess Celestia  knows he has a huge crush on Twilight Sparkle since the day she introduced her to him

Twilight and Rarity  raised their glass with their magic while their other friends used their hooves.Blueblood on the other hoof used his hoof instead of magic to pick up his drink.

"Let's make a toast to my father,Night Light who we celebrate on this day and to our new found friendship with Prince..I mean Blue."They clink their glasses.

"Cheeres."said everypony

As Blue dranked his drink he couldn't help but look at Twilight.Those gorgeous purple eyes and the lovely way she speaks makes his heart melt.As,he was watching Twilight,he did not notice he was tipping his glass.Twilight noticed this.She put down her glass and quickly used her magic to avoid him spilling his drink.

He scratched his head in embarrassment.His face turning red."Oh,silly me for not noticing that.Sorry to trouble you Twilight.

"Not at all Blue."Twilight continued to drink her beverage when she heared Shining Armor calling her.

"I'm coming."She replied."Sorry girls I have to go."

"Go on Twilight,we'll be here if you need anything."said Applejack.

With that Twilight galloped towards her family at the veranda.

Blueblood was a little disappointed.He thought,if he had the courage he could strike up a conversation with her.Well maybe this is a good thing,he might say something stupid and make Twilight feel awkward.

"Ya like her don't ye."said Applejack making Blueblood broke his train of thoughts.

Blueblood scratched his head and also turning red in the process."What?No....no..T-Twilight and I...I mean Twilight and me will never work.Seriously guys,I don't have a crush on...T-T-Twilight."

The mane 6 gave him an 'oh really look'

"Oh come on it's so obvious,you're totally head over heels for Twilight."said Rainbow Dash.

"Is it that obvious."Blueblood asked in a soft tone.

"It's VERY obvious."replied Rarity.

"And why are you all being shy about it.Go out there and tell her how you feel,so you can go on a date and then you'll get married and have cute little foals."Pinkie dragged him towards the veranda only to be stopped by Applejack.

"Woah pinkie slow down,Blue here judging how nervous he was with Twilight.Ah think ye have some sorta confidence issue when talking to Twilight."

"Exactly.I talk to other ponies perfectly but when it comes to Twilight I stutter my words,I don't know what to do."Blueblood sighed."Maybe it's just me but sometimes I wonder why would an amazing mare like her even talk to a stallion like me."

"A stallion like you."Rarity said in a high tone.

"Blue did you forget who you are you are.You are Prince Blueblood descendent of the last of the alicorn king,King Galaxus.Your lots of great grandfather stepped down his status as an alicorn to be with his true love,a mortal unicorn pony.Quite romantic if I do say so myself.Your father,Prince Sentinal Steel was the general of the Royal Army and your mother,Doctor Tender Care was a brilliant doctor.So,how can you say your just a normal stallion.

Rarity's speech did not motivate Blueblood.It only made him feel more pathetic."Those were my ancestors,not me Rarity.All of you and Twilight saved Equestria dozens of time.The only thing I see to do as a prince is look handsone and appear in social gatherings.I don't deserve to be a Prince as much as I don't deserve to be with Princess Twilight Sparkle.

Applejack smiled sympathetically at Blueblood and put a hoof over his shoulder"Don't put yourself to low Blue.Twilight's not a pony who looks down on other ponies.You seem like a nice guy who likes Twilight sincerly.If you just tell her how you feel I bet she would definitely fall for ye."

"Uh...excuse me."The group turn their heads towards Fluttershy."Sorry to burst your bubbles but Twilight talked to me the other day and she said she was seeing a pegasus stallion in the royal guards named Flash Sentry.Sorry Blue."

Blueblood felt his heart being crushed."Oh." was all he could say.His crush was taken by another.He kind of expected this but he didn't knew it would hurt this bad.He sighed."See,told you."Blueblood started to walk away from the group with head hunged low.The mane 5 felt sorry for him,they wish they could do something.

The party went on and Blueblood sat at a table alone watching the ponies do their buisness and ocassionaly gulping an apple cider.He didn't want to think about Twilight but the more he resisted the more he thought about her.Soon enough,the party was over and the guest started to leave.Blueblood thought about leaving and getting back to work on his invention.Although,he's a pediatrician surgeon,he invents medical equipments that are used in Canterlot Medical Centre and other hospitals throughout Equestria.

At a young age he had a talent for inventing.Being magically retrarded,he invented machines to make his life as well as others more easier.Most ponies thought his cutie mark  was a star but it's actually a spark that represents ideas and inventions.He invented the first circuit board,the first computer controlled machine known to ponykind.He revolutionized science by creating the first artificial intelligence interface system and that was all before he was fifteen.

Not only,he is a inventing whiz he is also a medical genius.He garduated medical school three years after enrolling.His inteligence caught Duke Night Light's attention,so he pulled a few strings and had him posted to Canterlot Medical Centre.He proved to be a brilliant doctor.Just recently,he and Duke Night Light invented the cure for magically retarded unicorns and flightless pegasi.He was esctactic that future generations will not have to live like 'ground pegasi' or 'horned earth ponies.'The cure however did not cure him.

Suddenly a purple baby dragon came dashing towards Blueblood.

Spike stopped running when he reached Blueblood and took a momment to catch his breath."Duke....Night...Light wants you to go ....to his study...immediately.He....said..it was...important and can you give me a lift."said Spike before he collapsed.

Blueblood thought what could Duke Night Light possibly want.Was it because he did something wrong to a patient.

Blueblood ingored all his thoughts.He quickly put Spike on his back and dashed to Duke Night Light's study.

When they reached the doors of Duke Night's study,Blueblood knocked on the door and waited for a reply.He entered the room when the door was opened by somepony's magic,he persume it was Duke Night Light as his magical aura was blue.

Spike got of Blueblood's back as he did not feel tired anymore.He saw Duke Night light with his wife as well as Shining Armor,Princess Cadence and Twilight.He was suprised to see his aunt,Princess Celestia.

"Aunt Celestia...what are you doing here."asked Blueblood.

"Take a seat Blueblood,me and your aunt have much to discuss about."said Duke Night Light.

Blueblood took a seat next to his aunt avoiding Shining Armor's cold glare.Twilight was also confused as to why they were all gathered.

Duke Night Light cleared his throat."As you may know,Prince Blueblood has been working under me in Canterlot Medical Centre for almost four years and he has proven to me that he is a responisible,honest and dedicated.With patients,he is gentle,loving and caring espacially towards foals and the elderly."Night Light said while smiling at Blueblood.

It was Twilight Velvet's turn to talk."We've discuss this with Princess Celestia and she agreed to it wholeheartedly...."she loked at Princess Celestia who smiled in return.

Twilight interupted her mother."Wait,what is it."

"Twilight,your mother,Princess Celestia and I have agreed to join you and Prince Blueblood in marriage."

"WHAT!!!"shouted Twilight.She couldn't believe her parents want her to marry a stallion she dosen't even know let alone love.Blueblood however was a little shocked but slightly happy.

"Dad,you can't force Twilight to marry him of all stallion.He dosen't deserve her."pointed Shining Armor.

"You watch your tounge Shining Armor,he is more than qualified to be your sister's husband."

"But dad why do you even what me to get married.I'm only twenty-four for ponysakes."

Twilight Velvet put a hoof on her daughter's shoulder."Twilight,we only want you to have a stallion in your life so that will take care of you like your father has done for me."

"I can take care of myself thank you very much."Twilight crossed her forelegs.

Princess Celestia stepped foward and touched her student's face."Twilight,now that you are a princess there are many duties you must attend to.I know you can do them all but you need help.Blueblood would surely help you and give you moral support."

"I'm sorry to say this Princess Celestia but......YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME if you want me to marry Prince Blueblood."Twilight said in a loud voice.Princess Celestia was shocked by her student's brashness.

She pointed at Blueblood."I mean...him...we don't have anything in common.I don't even know he does for a living and you expect me to marry him when I don't even love him."

"But,Twilight you can you learn to love him through your marriage."said Cadence.

"Whose side are you on."Shining Armor said shocked at his wife for choosing to support the marriage.

Twilight turned her head towards Blueblood."And I am sure you don't even want to marry me Blueblood."

"Well...I."

He was interupted by Duke Night Light."Twilight this is ridiculous.Blueblood is would make an excellent husband."

Twilight smacked her hoof on the floor."For the final time I will not marry his royal highness Prince Blueblood.We are not a perfect match.Why would you even make me marry a unicorn who can't even do magic."

"Twilight Sparkle,I have never seen you so rude to somepony."Chidded Celestia dissapointed at her student.

Twilight was shocked to hear this from her mentor.Has she really gone too far.She looked back at him,his face crestfallen."I...uh."

That last sentence hurt Blueblood.He kind of expected Twilight to disapprove but he didn't know she'll be that harsh.He sighed."Professor Night Light,Duchess Twilight Velvet,Twilight dosen't seem to like this idea.So,I think it's best if we don't get married.I think I better leave."Blueblood walked to the door with Princess Celestia in suit.Suddenly,a cry of pain came from Duke Night Light.All the ocuppants of the room including Blueblood turned around and saw him faint.

"Dad."cried Shining Armor and Twilight as they rushed to their father with Cadence following them.Their mother was holding the unconscious stallion in her forelegs and panicking.

Blueblood sprang into action,his doctor instincts kicking in.He went to Duke Night Light but was blocked by Shining Armor.

"I thought you were leaving."said Shining Armor coldly.

"Prince Shining Armor please.I can help your father.

Shining Armor scoffed."I wouldn't let you treat me let alone my father."

Clestia had enough of ponies not treating Blueblood with respect."Enough."She said loudly and in an angry tone.

"Captain Shining Armor enough of your negative thoughts towards my nephew.I did not expect you to be so arrogant towards him.Now,unless you want to save your father,let Doctor Blueblood treat him as he is the onlypony in this room who actually knows a thing about treating other ponies."

Shining Armor glared at Blueblood for a while and reluctantly give way for Blueblood to pass.He didn't want to make Celestia angry or loose his job.

Blueblood rushed to Duke Night Light.Twilight and her mother who were in tears gave way for Blueblood and stood beside Cadence who was trying to calm them down.

He first took of his vest and tie to allow blood ciruclation.He then checked his heart rate and found that it was very fast.Ventricular tachycardia he thought was the problem.Somepony who has Ventricular tachycardia has a very fast heartbeat.It caused by a malfunction in one of the heart’s ventricles.This is very dangerous as it can lead to a cardiac arrest.

He immediately get on Duke Night Light and gave him CPR.He pumped his heart vigorously.He was too focused on the task at hand that he didn't notice the two paramedics that Twilight had summoned earlier using her magic.

"Doctor Blueblood we'll take it from here."said one of the paramedics,a unicorn stallion.

He didn't stop.Celestia had to pry him from Duke Night Light in order to make him stop.

The paredemics immediately put Duke Night Light on a stretcher and rolled him out of the house and into the ambulance carriage pulled by two earth pony stallions.Twilight along with her mother and brother boarded the ambulance.The ambulance took off leaving Celestia,Cadence and Blueblood to deal with the shocked guests.

"Not to worry everypony,Duke Night Light is on his way to the hospital.He'll be fine.However,I think it's best for everypony to leave."said Celestia.

The guest start leaving accept for the mane 5.They all came towards Blueblood.

"What happened ,is Twilght's dad gonna be okay."said Rainbow Dash.

"Well..his heartbeat was extremely fast.I manged to slow it down a little bit."

The mane 5 had concerns looks on their faces.

"Don't worry he's a strong stallion for his age,he'll pull through."Said Blueblood reassuringly.

He turn his head towards his Aunt Tia."If it's fine with you Aunt Tia,I think I should go to the hospital to check on Duke Night Light.."

Applejack cut in."Can we go too.At times like this Twilight needs her friends by her side."The mane 5 nodded in agreement.

"Me too."Said Cadence.

Celestia looked at the worried faces starting at her."You don't need my permission to do that.You may all go.I'll join you all later but for now I have to deal with the media."

They all nodded and Celestia went to the reporters waiting at the gates to answer thier questions.

The mane 5 along with Cadence and Blueblood wasted no time to get to Canterlot Medical Centre where Duke Night Light was sent to.As a doctor working in the hospital,Blueblood had no trouble leading them to the emergency ward.In the hallways leading to the operation room they found Duke Night Light's family waiting with tears staining their faces.

The mane 5 immediately pulled Twilight into a big hug whereas Cadence comforted her husband.Blueblood sat next to Twiligh Velvet.

"Will he be okay,tell me honestly..please."

"Ventricular tachycardia is a....very dangerous...condition.It is caused by a malfunction in  one of the heart's verticles."he said in a hushed tone.

Twilight Velvet grimaced at the tought of her husband in that very dangerous condition."What are his chances of surviving."

"Well....Ventricular tachycardia does not necesserily lead to death.I say with proper treatment he has a fifty percent chance of surviving.Don't worry the doctor's here are experts at what they do."

Suddenly,the doors of the operating room swung wide open.A unicorn stallion came out of the door with the rest of the medical team.

The sparkle family immediatly surrounded the unicorn stallion."Doctor is my father alright."said Twilight.

The doctor smiled."It was fortunate his heartbeat was slowed down or else he would not be alive now.He is in a more stabalized condition now.You may visit him now in ward 15 but only family members are allowed"

Twilight said goodbye to his friend and went off to with her family to ward 15.

When they arrived,at ward 15,Twilight was shocked to see her father with wires and life machines connected to him at every part of his body.He had a bandage wrapped around his chest.

"Twilight.....Shining..Velvet.."said Duke Night Light weakely.

The quartet went towards the very ill stallion with looks of concern and worries.

Twilight was already in tears."Dad....Your going to be alright right."

He sighed."I'm a doctor Twilight I know my time will not be long."

"No!You'll be okay."Twilight Velvet and Shining can only stand there and cried silent tears.

Night Light hold her daughter's hoof."Everything must come to an end.This why I want you to marry Prince Blueblood.I die a happy stallion knowing that my daughter will have a stallion that will love her as much as I love you.Please Twilight,fulfill my final wish."

Shining Armor strongly opposed the marriage.He has a strong disliking towards  Blueblood but he said nothing out of his respect to his father.

Twilight had mix feeling about this.A part of her wants to go against his father's wishes and be with Flash Sentry the stallion that she truly loves but a part of her wants to sumbit to her father's wishes and marry Blueblood.She had a choice between what she wants and what her dying father wants.So,with a heavy heart she decided that she will be an obediant daughter.

"I'll marry Blueblood.....for you dad."

Night Light smiled happily."Thank you,Twilight.You've made me very happy."He turn his gaze towards his wife."Honey,wil be getting a son in-law."

Although she was in tears,she managed to smile.Shining Armor looked at his LSBFF,a look of sadness was on her face.

Blueblood and the mane 5 were waiting anxiously for some news about Night Light.Soon,they were joined by Princess Celestia.She had already deal with the nosy reporters.

The silence was broken by Princess Cadence who went back to tell Blueblood that Night Light wanted to talk to him.The rest asked Cadence about Night Light's condition.She didn't reply.

The mane 5 and Celestia can guess that Night Light is in a bad condition.

Blueblood  opened the door to the ward.It saddens him to see the stallion he look up as a father in a weak and feeble state.He could see Twilight was standing next to him.

"I leave you three alone."said Cadence as she exited.

"Blueblood,come closer."

Blueblood went to his side opposite Twilight everting her gaze.

"About the marriage,Twilight has agreed to do it."

Blueblood couldn't believe his words.Just a momment ago Twilight had said that she will never marry him but now she agreed to marry him.

"Re..Really."

Night Light nodded."Yes,so do you agree to marry Twilight."

"Well seeing that Twilight has agreed and you and aunt Tia seem so eager for us to get married.Then,I will marry Twilight."

Night Light smiled."Thank you,Blueblood."He turn his gaze towards Twilight."I can't wait to escort you down the aisle."

"Well to do that you need to be healthy.Rest,listen to the doctors and don't think about work.I'm sure Doctor Needles can fill in your shoes as the director of Canterlot Medical Centre for a while."

Night Light chuckled."Yes,doctor."

"If you don't mind I think I should go."

"Very well then"

Bluelood smiled and exited the room.The second he exited the room Twilight turned to her father."Dad,I think should call Mom and Shining back here."

"Go ahead."

She exited the room soon enough to see Blueblood walking along the corridor.He trotted over to Blueblood and pulled him into a nearby storage room.She locked the door making sure nobody noticed them.

Blueblood was suprised by the sudden act."Twilight...what are you doing?"

"Why did you agreed to marry me."

He shrugged his shoulders."Well...why did you agree to marry me?"

"I asked you first."she said firmly.

"Because I have a debt to pay to your father for he has helped me a lot in so many way and I am a firm believer that you need to obey your parents in my case Princess Celestia who is like a mother to me.This is also one of the ways I can do my duties as a prince."

"So,your only doing this out of duty and responsibility."

Blueblood took a deep breathe."Yes.What about you."

"I only did this for my father.I don't want to dissapoint him at this time.Even,at the cost of breaking up with the stallion I love."

Blueblood guessed that 'stallion I love' must be Flash Sentry.He sighed."I guess Flash Sentry is some guy."

Twilight glared at him."YOU DON'T KNOW MY FLASH.How did you know his name...nevemind.You don't know him.He's the most nicest and chivalrous stallion I have ever met.You'll never be him."

"Okay,I'm sorry.I've gone too far."

Twilight scoffed."Indeed it was too far."She went closer to him and point her hoof towards Blueblood."Your such a pushover for agreeing to marry someone who you don't love right away."She stormed out of the room.
