The cream coated mare gave an exasperated sigh at the account of her flowers once again, having not been flowered by her roommate; too enticed in the new day as they had bolted for the door right after breakfast together. She shook her head in a quiet disapproving look, making a mental note to scold her for this later.
Her intricately brushed frost-pink and dull blue mane lay comfortably between her ears, down the back of her neck, ending square on her shoulders. It had been groomed enough to be presentable some time before in the early morning by her roommate, before breakfast.
As of now, she felt her mane slide down her face some as she bowed to reach for the watering can, latching it tightly between her jaw. She trotted outside, greeting the chirping birds with a smile, tilting her head over the flowers to water them all just the right amount.
Ponyville was as lively this morning as any other day, thank the mare who had brought them up the sun, and the mare who had lowered her moon. This was the exact reason why she was left in the dust in her home, and she still wasn't pleased about it.
Once her morning duties had been tended to, she found herself free for the rest of the day, to wait upon the arrival of Lyra, who had promised to bring the ingredients needed for the stew they would be making tonight. She pulled on her saddlebags, having to run the rest of the errands for the both of them; leaving their home with a smile on her face. Today was going to be perfect, despite the not-all-that-great start, she could feel it in her bones.
Bonbon made her way through Ponyville to reach the daily market, finding stallions and mares already at their stations and selling their goods to fellow ponies, dismissing this to reach the doors of the Cakes, the doorbell ringing as she trotted inside.
She set her bits down at the countertop, waiting patiently for either one of the Cakes to meet her. It wasn't long until the smaller mare wheeled over a plain-white box larger than her own figure to the other side of the counter, to her costumer. "Thanks, I'm going to love them!" She exclaimed, and took the box by the ribbon placed boisterously at the top and center, trotting back home.
Now, her batch of cupcakes would serve as dessert after dinner, and she couldn't wait to eat one; sneaking a bite and hoping no one would notice.
Bonbon returned to the dirt streets of Ponyville, back to the marketplace to get whatever goods she deemed important enough to spend her bits on. She found herself troubled to have not seen Lyra anywhere, forcing her mind off of it after a nice carrot sandwich.
You galloped home as fast as you could manage, sure to have nearly crashed into the door loud enough to announce your arrival. You pushed open the door, confused to find the house empty, setting your saddle bags that were filled to the brim by the door, closing it with your hind hoof.
It was officially time to investigate!- of course, once you were to receive a scolding by your roommate. She didn't sound at all happy, and you felt guilty in turn. But once that was all over, you gave her a hug to make up for it, along with a kiss to the muzzle. She forgave you.
You then proceeded to knock her over with sheer enthusiasm, "Bonbon, I've got everything, you won't believe it, it's going to be great!". You made a dart for the saddle bags, dragging them over with difficulty to the table, heaving them up onto it- and this time she put her hoof down to keep you from knocking over the table, too.
Bonbon watched with an expression of sincere concern as you emptied every single thing imaginable from your bags; of course she was amazed, just worried on how you managed to carry that on your person all day.
"Don't worry, I took breaks." That seemed to ease her some, and you topped it off with an enthusiastic grin.
Dinner was as great as Lyra had insisted, and both mares ate good and to their fill well into the afternoon. As soon as the dishes were done, (by Lyra, she had implicitly made a rude remark enough to make Bonbon cry) they both settled by the fire to warm up. Winter would be coming soon, and they were both dreading the cleaning that was to come from it, after.
You turned your head to nuzzle your face into Lyra's heavenly blue mane, and she found herself happy to be your snuggle buddy. It was something you insisted they do together since you two, well, lived together.
She was settled behind you, on her side, hooves curled around you as you laid in front of her, closer to the fire with your limbs curled in and pressed to you like a foal. You were the most comfortable you could have been that day, and the rest of it consisted to coddling and teasing, from both parties.
You nipped her mane and coat, grooming her as a mare would her filly, and it made her blush, and you loved it. You dismissed her shifting, attempting to wriggle away from you, but you just caught her hoof to keep her still. You swore it was one of the cutest things Lyra Heartstrings could ever do, only one in the long, long, list.
She, in an implicit payback, kept 'grooming' your mane, as she said, but you were sure it was just to get back at you, mess up your curls you worked time on in the morning to maintain. Honestly, you didn't mind, it was late, and it would be of no use to restyle them, now.
Once you had curled up, and she lay her head over your neck to press her cheek to yours, and you both nearly fell asleep, yet you flicked your eyes out the window, noticing the pale full moon. You thought it would be better to sleep in proper beds rather than wake up to tight and sore joints, and you nudged her awake up the stairs to the bedroom.
"Oh Bonbon, how stubborn can you be?" You mumbled, and with this she agreed to what she called your shenanigans. It took her a long enough time to settle down again after the move, and you just wanted to sleep comfy.
She pressed up to you, facing you, giving your muzzle hers in a warm embrace. You tangled your limbs together, and while she was complaining before, you know she liked to be close to you.
