Remake of the EG film which takes place after "Twilight the Assistant" and before "Nephew Versus Aunt". A friendly musical competition turns nasty when Adagio Dazzle and her band, the Dazzlings, turns the whole thing into intense Battle of the Bands. Equestria Prime Twilight Sparkle, Ben, Nyx, and the Dragons, despite Mystic Tao's warnings, return to the Equestria Girls world joined by Megan, Omega and the unexpected Tough Apple to help their friends restore harmony. However, the group finds themselves dealing not only with the Dazzlings (who may not be as they seem), but a nasty foe named Fafnir, and the human version of Azure Phoenix who is determined to find out if Twilight and her group are hostile or not.
