Chap. 14: P.S. I Love You

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

After a long, nice nap, I found that Celestia had lowered the moon for me. I made a mental note to thank her for that later. But now, I had something important to write.

I fell asleep before I could write my letter to Chrysi saying that I'd be coming over to her castle soon. So I got right to it! I used my magic to open up a drawer where I kept all of my writing tools. I levetated a quill, a container of ink, and some paper. I grabbed a few pages, just in case I messed up somewhere. I can get really nitpicky about my own writing, even in private letters sometimes.

With everything I need in hoof's reach, I sat down on a chair in front of my desk and grabbed the quill with my mouth.

I know I could've used my magic, but I surprisingly find it easier to do it with my mouth. Maybe I shouldn't say easier, more like... I'm just more used to writing like that. Even when I was little, Celestia, my mom, and my dad were always trying to have me be more familiar with using magic. It just never came as naturally to me as it did to them, but now I'm just getting sidetracked.

I had everything set up to write my letter, so I grabbed ahold of the quill with my mouth and placed the other end onto the paper. I then wrote, "Dear Princess Chrysalis," but then I stopped in a sudden realization... I had no idea what to write down.

Sure I could tell her straight up like, "I would like to come over because I was in your dream and would like to talk to you about it," but that seemed immensely stupid on my part. If I told her I was snooping around in her dreams, who knows what she might do. Knowing her, she'd be confused, concerned, and then will never talk to me again. So that approach was off the table.

I could write down, "Hey, I want to come over and hang out for a bit. Feels like forever since I've last seen you," but I'd rather not lie to her. Okay, maybe not lie, more like hide things from her that she should probably know. Though I guess you could say that I've been hiding something from her ever since I met her, but I was planning on telling her sooner or later!

In the end, I decided to do a combination of both. Not telling her everything, but also not lying to her. Something like...

Can I break the fourth wall real quick here? I don't actually remember exactly what I wrote to Chrysalis at all. That might seem strange because I've been able to remember some parts of my life vividly so far, but I at least have an excuse.

So far, everything I've told you, I've also written in my diary. Therefore, I remembered them better and if I really needed to, I'd have my diary as a refferance. Around this time in my life, I stopped writing in there for some reason, probably had to do with me growing up. So excuse me for not remembering something that happened eons ago, at least I think it's been eons. Hey, I said I had an excuse, not that it was good!

The only thing from my letter to Chrysalis I do remember was that it ended like this:

Your Friend,

Princess Luna

P.S. I lo

After I was done writing my letter, I sent it out to Chrysi via a mailpony. I trotted inside to find Celestia in our kitchen, looking for food. I heard her mumbling to herself, "Why don't we have anything to eat?"

I quickly replied, "We have plenty of food, you're just used to eating it all." My sister lifted her head out of the fridge to look at me in confusion, followed by realization.

"I guess, but I'm still hungry!"

"Alright, I'll cook something, I'm a bit parched myself anyways," I said with a smirk. "With how your acting, you'd think I was the older one."

"You might as well be, give me less work."

"What do you have to work on," I asked as I grabbed a few things to cook with.

"Like ehn-neh-nah, what are you cooking?"

"Subtle much?"

"Your one to talk, Miss Chrysalis-picture-above-her-bed."

"Fair enough, I'm cooking up some omletts for breakfast."

"It's about five in the afternoon."

"Yeah, well, it's morning for me."

"Speaking of, have a nice nap?"

"Yeah, and thanks for not waking me to lower the moon."

"Not that I had much of a choice, I couldn't for the life of me wake you up. I tried having your alarm go off, putting food in front of your face, yelling 'Chrysalis is here!' Nothing would work. For a minute, I thought you were dead." As she finished, we both shared a short laugh.

"Oh, in that case, I'm sorry."

"Nah, don't worry about it. Just please don't do it again."

The two of us went on for a couple minutes until the omletts were done and I'm reminded that I'm a great cook. We ate and talked until it was time to bring nighttime. I raised my moon and Celestia lowered her sun. She went off to hit the hay soon after and I'm left alone in the kitchen as I made some coffee. I usually am around this time anyways.

Several hours have passed when I heard a knock at the door. I opened it to find the same mailpony I gave my letter to. The grey mare gave me a different letter that said to be from Chrysalis. I gave her my thanks as she kneeled and then trotted off as I closed the door. I opened the letter hoofed to me to find exactly what I didn't want to see:

NONONONONONONONO!!!!!!!! Sorry, but the Chrystal Faire is this Saturday and I've got a ton of work to do that I cannot be distracted away from! If you and/or Celestia wanted to come, that'd be great! Plus I'd probably be able to hang out with you that way, but please don't come over until then! Hope to see you there!

Your Friend,

Princess Chrysalis

After reading that, I had only one thing on my mind, "I'd hate to say something this stupid, but I think I know what I'm doing this Saturday!"

Author's Note

I am so sorry that it took me this long to have this chapter to come out! I assure you that it is not because I was too lazy (though that didn't help) or because these are hard to write (I'm not that sad). The problem was A.) my computer's cable broke because of my cats, so I couldn't upload this, B.) school started up again recently, & C.) I was working on my Televisor review of Rainbow Rocks. That took nearly an entire month to make, so I straight up didn't have time to write this chapter. So, again, very sorry about that. And with that said, I included a link to that video, it would mean a lot to me if you'd all check that out seeing how that's something I always wanted to work on.

Speaking of, I started up a new series named Televisor recently! It's pretty much my Nostalgia Critic-esc reviews of TV shows & movies. I'm shooting for one a month (which is also my goal for Worlds Apart)! I'm hoping that the series won't affect my fic much, it really shouldn't distract me so much that I can't do a chapter a month.

Also, since this chapter is late, I'll try to do another one by the end of the month. Emphasis on "try."

I decided to change the style of the text when Luna is breaking the 4th wall, from now until doomsday it'll be in blue. I'm also going back into past chapters to change that just to not confuse anyone.

This is kind of a nothing chapter, but I also like how I got to write a bit on Luna's psychi. Plus I could write some dialogue between Luna & Celestia along with build up the next chapter, so there's that. And with that, this is sadly one of the shorter installments, I hope you guys don't mind. I try my best to make these as great as possible.

If anyone is wondering, that grey mailmare is not Derpy. It's simply her ancestor, the problem is that I couldn't think of a good name for her... how about, Ditzy? Yeah, I like that! Her name is now Ditzy "Fuck You" Do! (As a side note, do you think Ditzy Do & Daring Do are related? And if so, do they have a musical cousin named Didgeri Do?)

That's about everything I can think of, so thank you for reading this chapter of Worlds Apart! I hope you've enjoyed & that you'll come back for Chapter 15!
