(Revised) //-------------------------------------------------------// Why even do it? (Revised) ‘Why did it have to come to this.’ He looked across from his quaint and small room towards the wooden door. Turning his head, he looked out his window and saw Ponyville covered in snow.         ‘Please some pony save me’ He nudged himself further under his large blanket. He tried hiding under the blanket before his herd mate came into the room looking at her stallion. She turned her head sideways looking at the brown stallion hiding under their blanket.        “Come on Java, it’s Winter Wrap Up day, Beat is waiting for you downstairs,” she said before grabbing the blanket with her mouth and dragging it off Java. She sighed as she looked at the stallion who was now groaning.        “But I don’t like Winter Wrap Up, it’s stupid and wastes time. Time I could be cultivating my arabica plants to make the perfect coffee Equestria has ever drank.” He said waving his forelegs for emphasis.        “Well Beat and I am just going to drag you to town hall unless you get your flank up and get ready for the town meeting.”        “Come on Silver, why do we even do Winter Wrap Up?” Java contemplated.        “To clean up the snow that winter brought with it, obviously,” the mare retorted.        “But think about, if we let nature do its job, everything would be slower, but it would maintain a better balance. For example, the Running Of The Leaves is unnecessary, the leaves come off on their own once it's their time. As for Winter Wrap Up, we don’t need to clean it up. Why would we even clean it up for. We should let nature take care of it”        “The snow would melt under Celestia’s sun, the birds would surely know their migration routes by now and would not need the help of the Pegasi to return to their homes. Birds can also build their own nests so why build it for them. Including the animals, they wake up when they are ready and gather their own food. They should also be capable of cleaning their dens.” Java continued.        “I understand the removing of snow from the farmlands, it’s vital for our food source.” He stopped and caught his breath. Looking at his marefriend who now, hearing all of this made sense and realized something, the gears turning in her head.        “Wait, so you’re telling me, I could’ve had a couple more days of relaxation before, but instead, speeding up what we could ignore so we could go back to work earlier?” Silver looks down at her hooves, asking herself questions in which Java had already answered in his little explanation.        “That’s one way of saying it.” Java tugged on the blanket which Silver gave no resistance. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going back to sleep.”        Silver turned around and walked through the wooden hallway of the herd’s home. Passing two doors and making a left downstairs. There, standing near the door was a mare with a red coat, green mane, and a red horn protruding from her forehead. Her cutie mark was a heartbeat monitor.        “So is he coming to the meeting, or are we going to drag him there?” Beat asked as she was irritated from waiting.        “He just said something… Winter Wrap Up is unnecessary.”“What has gotten into you? What did he say to make you think that?” asked Beat, becoming more confused.        “Think about it, Winter Wrap Up is just wasting our time when we could be in our homes drinking hot cocoa while the snow melts and the animals taking care of themselves. Think about it!” Silver went into another room furnished with couches and bookshelves. A coffee table in the middle with a small plant on it.        She sat down on the nearest sofa and looked at the ceiling, her beliefs torn away from her. Beat followed her into the living room looking at the mare, looking off into space. She thought about what the mare had just said before realizing, it was all true. She too dropped onto the sofa and looked off into space as if a hammer had just struck her right on the head.        Hoofsteps resonated through the house as Java made his downstairs and into the kitchen. He rummaged through the refrigerator looking for something eat and took out an apple. He went outside, seeing the town ponies had started cleaning the entire town of snow, helping the animals, and doing other activities in which nature could’ve taken care of.        Java looked for his herd and went into the living room and saw them. See their expression, he smiled.        ‘Finally, they get it’        He sat on a wooden chair and ate his apple, picking up today’s papers. Five Years Later         How did his life get so turned around in just a matter of months. One moment he was taking care of his coffee farm and cafe shop, the next, he was about the highlight of every newspaper and books. He became Equestria’s most logical thinker, from what he saw.        Now he receives letters from almost everypony in the nation asking him ridiculous and absurd questions he could not answer.        ‘What is the answer to life?’        ‘What is end of pi?’’        ‘How Can Everything Be Real If Our Eyes Aren’t Real?’        ‘Why do we eat?’        He face planted on his desk. Of which he bought from the immense amounts of bits coming from every philosophical university in Equestria and even more come from out of the nation like Calafia, the griffon nation.        He was rich, he didn’t want to be rich, all he did was try to convince ponies that there was no need for WInter Wrap Up and the Running Of The Leaves. He should've shut his mouth and went along with everypony. He also wanted to make the perfect coffee blend, but that was out of the question.        Java moaned thought his desk. Some things were meant to be there, and if you disturb those things, you get rich and become something you never wanted to be.        The nation had removed Winter Wrap Up and Running Of The Leaves and instead put holidays in which everyone got to enjoy the last days of winter before it disappeared with the help of nature.        Java did the nation a solid, and now he was being punished for it. That’s what you get for messing with things.
