The beginning and the end
Need for potions
Zecora poured the green powder into the poppy colored mixture and stirred. Then she sprinkled some salt and pushed some mushrooms in turning the brewing stew into a thick gray substance. Suddenly a knock at the door announced a certain butterscotch filly's arrival. The zebra opened her oak door to find an earth pony filly jumping in joy on her doorstep. "Come in apple bloom, there is definitely plenty of room." Zecora said motioning for the filly to sit. Apple bloom smiled and took a seat at a small table. Zecora set out wooden bowls and poured the food in then took a seat across from the filly. "Wow Ze-Cora, what did ya make?" The southern filly asked. " It is a homeland treat, so hurry up and eat." Zecora said. Apple bloom picked up the bowl and drank it all down then slammed it on to the table and sighed in satisfaction. Zecora laughed at the filly's manners and stared on her soup. "If you don't mind me asking ms. Zecora, why do ya have so many potions?" Apple bloom threw another question at Zecora. Zecora stopped eating and just stared at apple bloom. The real reason was Zecora had a monster-like side if herself that she constantly tried to cure, but she couldn't say that. "One I'm a Shaman and two I just need them." Zecora said. "Wow your a Shaman!?" Apple bloom yelled. The zebra nodded. "Now go clean the pots, gratitude I'll give you lots." Apple bloom smiled and went to cleaning the pots.
Zecora mixed the different potions set out before her in another attempt to cure her other side. Her tongue lolled out in concentration her eyes pinned on the mixtures as little clouds of multi-colored smoke puffed into the shaman's face. Her teal eyes never left the coconut bowl holding the concoction as her hooves moved in an eerie pattern mixing each ingredient after the next. When the glowing black potion was complete the zebra picked up the bowl and drank deeply. The bitter liquid melted onto her dry tongue sinking into her very being. She closed her eyes and breathed out a stream of gray mist then surprisingly felt her teeth grow sharp. Her body thinned and her hooves became sharper. Her pupils became shrouded in golden light that pierced the dark room. This was not supposed to happen. The monster Zecora was starting to take over, it's twisted thoughts seeping into her mind. She stumbled over her cauldrons and books then desperately reached for a cyan bottle. Her hoof hit the wall making the cyan jug tip and fall onto Zecora"s head. Zecora sighed as the spell did it's work and she morphed back to her old self. Picking the shards of glass from her hair and the floor she started to hum a song from her homeland. When all the glass was disposed of she took out her study books and began reading looking for a cure. She never found one. But she did learn to control her monster side and met a friend who shared a similar problem. His name was Death Flame and he was a skeleton pony. Together they both searched for a cure until they gave up one day. In the future they became lovers and had children. But that is another story for another place and time. The cutie mark crusaders and some other ponies like the mane six found out, but it all worked out and no pony was afraid. In the end it all worked out.
