The Creatures

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

You were startled, but you managed to keep your voice even. "Uh... What?"

The creature tried again. "What are you? I've never seen anything like you!"

"Do you usually go attacking shit you don't know about?" You asked, starting to get angry.

"My friend's decision was.. Rather brash. I'll have to ask her to not be so quick to judge from now on.."

"Yeah, i'll say. Man, what the fuck? You assholes don't make a good first impression.."

You turned to the creature currently barring it's teeth at you.

"Hey, pride parade, pull that shit again and i'll put my steel through your damn eye socket."

"I'd have you on the ground before you had a chance!" The creature shot back.

You turned to the creature levitating you.

"And i don't know what the fuck you're doing to me, but i've had a shitty day, and i don't even care to know. Could you let me down now?"

The creature obliged. Without a further word you slung your bag around your shoulder and started walking.

"Wait!"

You groaned and turned around.

"What now?"

"Could you come with me? You're an undocumented creature and we need to study you."

You pretended to think about it.

"No."

You turned around again.

"But... Why?"

"I don't feel like it."

"Why not?"

"Cause there was a time not so long ago where i had to get examined a lot. I didn't like it. On top of that, i'm a little culture shocked here. I just want to find a place to sleep."

"So come back to town! Think about it.. A warm bed! A shower!"

You stopped. A shower. Shit, that was tempting. But you still couldn't. You couldn't stand these creatures already, and a population would drive you to put a round through your skull.

"That is tempting as fuck, but i'm not really a people person. So, can i be going? I need to collect firewood before it gets dark."

You briskly turned around and walked towards the thick trees again.

"Wait! Can i at least have your name?"

You froze. Your name. No one had called you by your name in forever. You barely even remembered it.

"I don't have one anymore."

You started walking again.

"And don't come back!" Yelled the blue one.

You didn't even care to respond.

You disappeared into the forest and didn't look back.
