Chapter 1: Prologue
2018, political negotiations between the united states and the Islamic republic of Iran has break-en down and both side have declared war on each other. Other countries soon follow and the global war that everyone has fear has started. US armor forces of the 3rd armor battalion have crossed the border over to Iran and have begun operation sledge hammer. Two newly deployed prototype M1A3 Abrams is leading the operation. These two new tanks is completely driven by electricity that been automatically recharge in the sun thanks to hidden solar panels under the armor. Both tanks require only a crew of three instead of four men. These two tanks driven by a bunch of veteran tank man who have served already a couple of years in the Middle East in their old M1A2. This is their story.
“Rhino 1 to Rhino 2, come in Rhino 2.” said Rhino 1.
“This is Rhino 2, copy.” Rhino 2 answered.
“It seems that a welcoming party is just up ahead and it seems that we lost our invitations. How about we come and knock instead.” Rhino 1 said.
The two tanks are roaming over the desert toward a convoy of Iranian T-80 joined with a group of BMP 2. Both tanks starts to fire towards the convoy and imminently destroys two tanks. The Iranian force starts to fire back but to no use. The newly deployed anti projectile system mounted on the Abramses easily destroys the incoming shells. One shell however penetrates the systems defence and hit Rhino two in the back.
“Rhino 2, you seemed hit badly, you should abort.”
“Negative Rhino 1, we can do this.”
“But there is smoke coming out of you engine." The driver of Rhino 1 yelled “It’s a bloody cloud you’re pouring out for crying out loud. You’re covering the bloody battlefield.”
“Eehh, tactical smoke advantage.” Rhino 2 answered.
A quiet voice in the background of Rhino 2 mic says
“Eh sir, we should abort. I don't want the tank to break down in the middle of the battlefield.” Meanwhile in the background someone is laughing out loud while taking the peddle to the metal and pressing the engine of the tank to its limits.
“NO, were not going to turn around just because we got a kick in the ass.” The commander of Rhino to yelled.
“Okay.” the quiet voice responded.
“Okay remember why we are here. To destroy illegal Iranian nuclear facility in the area and stop the production of Iranian nuclear weapons, now remember. We are to make sure that no uranium is leaving the facility.” The commander of Rhino 1 said to all.
The tanks pass the newly destroyed convey and proceed towards the facility. A cloud of black smoke is following them. The tanks later entering an area whit is said to be holy and spirits roar the area. Both tanks don't mind and just keep moving towards the facility. After a few minutes a couple of buildings can be seen in the distance.
“Okay, we are here. Load up the ABS and get ready to fire”.
The tanks aims their guns towards the buildings and and loads the shells into the turrets. They fire a couple of shot until a mushroom cloud appears out of the facility. “Okay, that should do it we can now retu....wait a minute. We got a big cargo truck exiting the facility”
“That's one big ass truck, sir.” the gunner of Rhino 1 said.
“I don't care how big it is, the scanner tales its carrying nuclear material and as we were told. NO nuclear material is to leave the facility. Gunner shot it down.” The commander yelled
“Can't do sir. Truck is driving in behind the mountains. So sight of fire” the gunner answered
“Driver, follow the truck.” he yelled.
“But sir, if i following it we will get to close to the blast when we shot it.” the driver said
“Yes, i know but if those Arabs gets away whit the uranium who knows what firestorm they can cause back home.” The commander answered.
“You're right, HERE WE GO.” he yelled.
“Yeha, ride little donkey.” the gunner yelled.
“Rhino 2, we are persuading a cargo truck which seems to carry a large amount of uranium. Are you with us.” the commander asked.
“Hell yeah, let’s do this.” Rhino 2s commander yelled.
Both the tanks were racing through the sand towards the enemy convey. The Iranian tanks started to fire at the incoming vehicles but as once again to no use. The truck increased is speed and started to play a game of slalom while it was moving towards the ravine. The tanks couldn't hit the truck so they were forced to move even closer but the truck was to fast for them. They thought that the truck was going to get away but then they saw a passage to the ravine which the tanks could pass trough. All of the six tank drivers got a evil grin on their face and started to race trough the passage. Meanwhile the trucks driver though he had lost the tanks and give a small chuckle until suddenly two Abrams tanks appear out of nowhere and started to aim their canons towards the truck. The commander of Rhino 1 says “its been and honour to serve whit you all”. Both tanks fire their canons on the same time and both shells hit on the same time. A white light covers the entire area and the ravine falls apart. After the explosion there is no tell if it was once a ravine in the area. The wreckage of the truck is there but both the Abrams have disappear.
The commander of Rhino 1 was waking up from was feeling like the longest nap ever. He looked to his left and the gunner of the tank was lying there asleep as well. He checked if the entire instrument in the tank was still operational and all the equipment was still working except for the GPS and the radar tracking system. He looked around in the tank and saw that the ammo behind him was still there. He opened the hatch of the tank and started looking around. What he saw surprised him. He was expecting to see a ravine that was completely demolished in the middle of the desert but instead he saw that he was in a forest. He looked in front of his tank and spotted Rhino 2 there as well.
He then said quietly to himself “Were the fucks are we?”
Chapter 2: Where are we?
Will Anderson, commander of Rhino 1 jumps back into tank and looks at Jeffery “Rock” Houston. The gunner of the tank. He is still at sleep. Will know why he got that name so he knows not a single shrug is enough to awake him. He takes a crowbar and he throw it at Rock face. The crowbar lands on his face
“I'm awake, I'm awa.”DONG”OW” he shouts when he wakes up to fast and hits his head in the selling of the tank. The sound wakes up James, the driver of Rhino 1.
“What the bloody hell was that.” He asked.
“Eh, It was just rock that was waking up.” Will answered.
“That was a new one.” He answered back”.
Now when the entire crew is awaken he takes the scope of the tank and starts looking around the forest for a clear pass that the tank can drive trough. Meanwhile Rock and James have seen the surrounding.
“What the hell, what’s with the forest thingy.” Rock yells.
“I know, I have no idea how we got here. I woke up just a couple of minutes ago as well and I'm now looking for a way out of the forest.” Will said.
“Wasn’t we just in the middle of the desert in Iran.” James asked.
“As I said before I have no idea how we got here in the first place.” Will said. He picks of the radio mic from the side and starts talking into it.
“Rhino 1 to Rhino 2 come in Rhino 2.“ No answer.
“Rhino 1 to Rhino 2 come in Rhino 2.” Still no answer.
He starts to get annoyed. He stands up and opens the hatch and yells “SAM, ANSWER THE GOD DAMN CALL.” The hatch of Rhino 2 is opening as well.
“Hey Will.” Sam answer “You don't need to yell for crying out loud.”
“Why didn't you answer on the radio then.” Will asked.
“I haven't got any call, what are you talking about.” He answers.
“What do you mean you haven't got any call? I talked in to the freaking radio.”
“Maybe frequency doesn't work here. Wherever here is.” He said while looking around.
“Okay, I'm going to try and switch frequency and you do the same, okay. One, two, three switch” Will said A loud scratch can be heard from both radios.
“Rhino 2 can you hear me.” Will said into the radio.
“This is Rhino 2, I can hear you loud and clear.”
“Okay, now when that problem is out of the way. Sam, hows the status on your crew.” Will asked.
“We are alright.” An unknown voice yelled into the radio
“O, hey Johnny. Glad to hear that you have woke up as well.” Will said happily
“I knew that blast shouldn't be enough to stop us, I just knew it.”
A silence then appears in both tanks.
“Come again.” Will said. “Well, you remember when we shoot the truck and this huge blast occurred and you all thought we were going to die but I thought we were going to make it and that is proven now cause we are talking to each other now a....” Johnny said until being interrupted by Sam.
“shit we died, WE FUCKING DIED.” A panic is the occurring in both tanks.
”SHIT WE DIED” all yelled on the same time except for Johnny who just sat there and looked confused.
“No silly, we did not die, this is not the afterlife. Since when do you get to take tanks whit you to the afterlife.” The panic then died quickly” he's right, since when do you take with you the vehicle you died in”. Everyone agreed whit Will
“Okay, so we are not dead but still WERE. IN. TARNATION. ARE. WE” Rock yells.
“I don't know but I want to get out on open ground so we can freaking look were we are. I think that those trees doesn't look to strong so I think we can mole them down. Rhino 2, how's your engine working” Will asked.
“I don't know, Alex how’s the engine working.”
Alex the gunner of Rhino 2 “it seems that the engine has been repaired automaticly so were good to go I think. I have no idea how that happened.” His quiet voice answered.
“Okay, Johnny start the engine.” Sam ordered the driver
“Roger that, ye ha.” He answer back
“Okay, James starts the engine as well. Rhino 2, we take the lead, you're following us.” Will said.
Rhino 1 start driving into the trees and are easily knocking them down. A Trail in the middle of this jungle can be seen from the sky and that is what catches the attention on a familiar blue flying creature.
Earlier
Rainbow Dash waked up early in the morning because of a strange sound coming from the ever free Forest.
“What the hay was that.” She said when she woke up. She looked over to the everfree forest and saw a weird light occurring. She flown over to Twilight's house and knocked on the door. It was still dark outside. The sound had awakened the entire town and most ponies started to exit their houses and started wondering what that noise was. Twilight opened her door and saw rainbow standing there.
“Oh, hi Rainbow.” She said “Was you also awaken by that weird noise.”
“Yeah, I came over here to check if you knew what it was.” Rainbow said.
“I don't know, I just woke up after I heard that noise. It sounded like an explosion and not a small one.”
“I know, should you tell Celestia about it.” Rainbow asked.
“I already sent her a letter about it, I hope I doesn't disturb her in her sle..” Twilight was interrupted by a burp behind her and a scroll hit her head.
“Ow, Spike.” She said
“Sorry.” The little green and purple dragon said back.
Twilight used her magic to lift up the scroll and started to read the scroll
My faithful student
it might surprise you but I was also awaken by this weird noise that you heard. It seems that the sound was heard most over Equestria and most of Canterlot is awoken as well. Luna and I want you and your friend to investigate it and find the source of the sound. If it’s something that compromised the security of everpony I want to know about it so we can fix it.
Princess Celestia
“What it say.” Both Rainbow and Spike asked
“Celestia wants us to check the source of the sound in the everfree forest.” Twilight answered them.
Aw yeah, whatever it is we are going to take it down.” Rainbow said to them
“Rainbow, go and get Fluttershy and Applejack. I'll go and get Rarity and Pinkie Pie.”
“Got it.” After she have said that rainbow started to fly away towards sweet apple acres
“Spike, stay here and watch the library while we are gone.” Twilight told Spike
“Aw, can I not come whit you guys.” He asked
“No, it might be dangerous and I don't want something to happened to you.” Twilight said back.
“hmpf, fine.” Spike said angrily
Twilight runs out of the door and started to move towards sugar cube corner. Spike on the other hand picked up a small box filled whit gems from its hideout.
“She didn't say I could take a little snack while I was guarding the house, hehe.” He then started to snack on them.
Meanwhile rainbow have reach sweet apple acres and applejack was awoken as well as everypony else.
“Rainbow, what do you do here so early. You often sleeping until 11 a clock. Wait, did that noise wake you up to” Applejack asked.
“Yeah, Celestia asked Twilight and the rest of us to investigate the source of the sound so we are going to meet her and the rest at the skirts of the everfree forest."
Applejack nodded.
Meanwhile Twilight have recovered pinkie and Rarity and are running towards the forest. “I still think this is a bad idea, you know how the forest is ,Twilight. It’s dirty and unclean.” Rarity told Twilight.
“We don't have time to think of that, Celestia have sent us on this mission and we are going to do it.” Twilight said to Rarity.
“Okay but if my mane is ruined you will pay for it.” Rarity told Twilight
When they arrived at the forest Applejack, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash was wating on them.
“So what is it we are actually going to do here.” Rarity asked
“Celestia told me and Rainbow that the sound that you all heard came from the everfree forest and we have been sent to investigate the source of it.” Twilight said
“And to buck all that stands in our way.” Rainbow followed.
“Right, Rainbow, I want you to fly overhead and scout. If you find anything wierder than normal fly back and report.” Twilight told rainbow.
“Yes ma'am.” Rainbow said and started to fly over the forest
“The rest of you, follow me.” Twilight said.
Rainbow by the time had came a far bit over the forest and so far nothing looked suspicious until when she heard weird noise. Its not the same noise as before but still it sounded weird. She started to fly towards the direction of the noise and got surprised when she saw a trail between all the trees. When she flew closer she saw something big that was moving down there and causing all the trees to fall. She decided to ignore Twilight order and flew closer to the weird things.
Meanwhile
“Status report?” Will Asked
“The hull is taking zero damage, these trees seems rotten and are no match for the tank.” Rock responded.
“Good, I don't want the tank to break down because of a bunch of trees. James, how's it going down there?” Will asked.
“The damn moisture is ruing my hair.” He answered
“If you don't like to get dirty why yah joined the military?” Rock asked
“I didn't join, I was forced into the military.” He said back
“But you were a freaking royal marine before joining us.” Rock said.
“That’s not the same thing, I was fighting for the Queen back than.” James said angrily
“Sure, sure, whatever.” Rock said with a smile.
“Shut up, you two.” Will said Angrily. “ We still doesn't know were we are, I'm going to check and see if we are on the right waWHAT THE HELL.” Will jumped back from the screen with a surprised look on his face.
“What’s the mater, Will?” Rock asked
“I just saw two big red eyes staring right at me thru the screen.” Will said nervous.
“Ha, must be hallucinating.” Rock said.
“NO, take a look by yourself.” Will said back.
“mkay, but ah still think that yah must be wrong HOLY SHIT.” Now Rock had the surprised face on him. “What did I say.” Will said whit a grin on his face.
“Those eyes aren't normal.” Rock said.
“James, stop the tank.” Will said.
“Roger.” James responded.
outside
Rainbow had flown around the weird looking wagon that was driving down the trees like they were sticks. She had noticed that the wagon was mad out of some sort of metal. She wondered what that giant noose on the wagon was for and when she flow up on the top of the wagon and looked in on what looked like a window she was sure she heard somepony scream. She was surprised by it and looked in again and heard another scream but this one sounded darker than the first one. She then noticed that the wagon stopped and she thought that it was going to attack her. She flown behind a tree and looked at the weird wagon. She noticed that the hatch on top of the wagon opened and she saw a weird looking creature popping out.
“Ya’ll see anything.” A voice from inside the wagon yelled.
“No, whatever that thing was its gone now.” The creature said.
Rainbow got enraged because that thing called her a “thing”. She was still surprised that the creature could speak excellent equestrian but she was still angry and yelled out “who do you call a thing” while she flown out of her hiding.
The creature just stood there whit his eyes wide open until it grabbed something on top of the wagon and aimed it towards Rainbow. Rainbow for the first time ever realized that she maybe had done something really stupid.
The tank
Will hold the mounted M2 Browning 50.cal aimed towards the weird flying creature. He had never seen anything like it before. It was cyan blue with rainbow colored hair and tail. It looked like a pony except....it was flying.
“Will....ya'll okay up there.” Rock asked.
“Rock, man the M240 MMG now.” Will yelled.
“Wha, but why.” Rock asked confused.
“NOW.” Will yelled again.
Rock jumped when Will yelled. He opened the loaders hatch that was over him and manned the M240 there. He got just as surprised as Will when he saw the weird flying creature on the right of the tank. He aimed the machine gun at it as well and both just stared at it and it stared back. The creature looked more confused than terrified.
