Hello there. I am the author of your dream tonight, and thus "the one who did this". Discord is - how should I put this - a spice to my concoction. Don't ask how I got the permission: I never did.
"Now, let's calm down with some soothing music."
(Random 8-bit music plays in background)
Not my idea of *soothing** but I suppose it can do for now.*

(Discord chuckles)
"Stop this nonsense right now!"
Don't worry, it's not like it'll affect your sleep physically. Shall we?
"Of course, one-whose-name-I-don't-know-of."
('Anonymous one' plays the trumpet while Discord makes the music weirder)
"Stop!"
(Twilight's requestcommand was completely ignored while Discord adds in some all-too-familiar 'wubs')
"STOOOOOPP!!!"
Twilight wakes up to find herself in her bed. The clock on the wall points to eight, and needless to say, it was morning.
"That-" Twilight put a hoof on her head, "-was weird."
Hey there.
"Wait, why are you still here?"
Oh, that's because you are still asleep.
"I am most certainly and surely awake," Twilight replied to the random voice.
Explain this then. A black object appeared over her head, and gravity took its control.
"Oof... Where did that piano even come- Oh." Twilight face-hoofed.
By the way, you won't be leaving the dream realm until that clock strikes two.
"Urrrggh."
I would not have expressed that any more perfectly.
"Why can't Pri-"
If you are thinking about Princess Luna, she has - unfortunately for you - picked someone else to visit in their dreams tonight. Absolutely fine by me, though.
"... Wait, where's Discord?"
For your information, I'll have a different being enter your dream every time you 'wake up'. Even if it means joining both your dreams together. As for Discord, he went back to Fluttershy's.
"But I don't see anyone here..."
(Door opens)"Hi, Twilight!"
"Never mind."
Pfft.
"There was some random voice saying something like 'I'll merge your dreams together, wait a second,' and then next thing I knew, I was here! It was so cool!"
Said the pink Earth pony who breaks the fourth wall as she wishes.
"Woo, there's that voice again! (Picks up speaker)Where are you, random voice?"
"Oww... Did you have to choose her out of all the ponies you could've chosen?"

"Pinkie, this is the dream realm. I don't think there's going to be supplies, or even party supplies."
That also means she can pull party supplies out of thin air, literally.
"Oh."
(Pulls out and uses party cannon) "Surprise! Wait, I don't think partying here is a good idea, let's go to Sugarcube Corner instead!"
Alrighty then.
"Wait, I thought my dream was supposed to have the Golden Oak Library only?"
Well, I did merge your dreams together...
"Oh. Right."
(Scene changes)
"Woah! This is as cool as the last time I played that blue-and-orange-hole-thingy sequel!"
"Played what now?"
"Nothing! I can't tell you because it'll break the time-space barriers! Now let me go bake some cupcakes. Wait, I could just grab them! Silly Pinkie!"
"Oooookk... I think I should go now."
Wait! What about the party?
We can always do that next time. Right now, I have a story to finish. Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.
"Okie Dokie Lokie!"
"How did you know... Fine. Can you please stop this now?"
I have no control over when your dreams end, and believe me, I have done stuff weirder than this.
"Uh huh."

"Get back here right now, you impostor!"
Alas, the two-dimensional cat with a biscuit with jam(?) for its body was too busy 'exporting' rainbows and chanting noises to hear Rainbow. For some reason, Rainbow didn't notice that they were both in an 8-bit version of outer space.

Twilight woke up - again - to find herself on her bed for the second time. She looked at the clock, its hour hand currently pointing at twelve.
What can I say, time goes very fast in the dream world. It can be helpful or saddening based on the situation you're in.
"I'd say it helped me tonight. Don't you have anything else to throw at me?"
Well, I would've, but my stories have no more than five characters for good measure. And yes, that includes you and me.
" Well, I don't see a fifth character anywhere."
I'll give you a sample of this story. You'll see the fifth character there. And yes, I did go into your room without permission. Deal with it.
"You what? Wait, you're real?"
What did you think I am, a second spirit of chaos?
"Well, no but..."
Well, what do you know, it's struck two! Bye for now! And yes, I may visit you again.

(Insert white blinding light here)
Twilight woke up - for the first time, physically - in her bed.
She felt something tied to her horn. Her curious nature made her loosen the tie (now known as a red ribbon) with her magic. As if it was - well, magical, if you overlooked the alicorn - the ribbon changed into a scroll upon contact of her magic signature.
She opened up the scroll and read the title: Twilight's Weirdest (distorted) Dream Yet.
Looking at the clock to see if she had enough time to read, she got a massive déjà vu. Eight in the morning. Twilight smiled knowingly and proceeded to read the now-written story.
