Chapter One - Rules of the Game
His eyes slowly opened to the blazing sun. Sand and dust coated his body as if he hadn't moved for ages. He remembered being in his bed last night, not in a desert.
Sitting back on his haunches, he took a quick check of himself.
His coat was grey. His mane was black with a white streak through the middle. His eyes were a dark blue color. He remembered nothing. His brain was traumatized from whatever teleportation or transformation happened to him. He wasn't sure if he was dreaming or not, it all felt so real. Eventually, he got his feeling back and felt something on his head. Atop his mane was a band connecting to an ear muff and a microphone over his right ear, the rest of his head was covered in a greyish green bandana. He was wearing a vest with several patches containing what looked like metal boxes with bronze objects in them. Around his neck was what looked like to be a piece of cloth in a greyish green material same as his bandana, but unlike the material that made up his vest which was a darker green.
He felt something fall to the ground with a distinct click of plastic on metal.
A pair of sun glasses fell off his head and tapped a long metal object standing on three legs, two in front making a V shape and one in the back. The majority of it was a long barrel, with a stick at the end. On top was a long telescope like object, which for its length, could probably see things some distance away. Under it was a handle for carrying near the front. A distinct metal box like the ones in his pouch, and a trigger system like on hoof-held fireworks. Sticking out from the back was a hollow block of metal, which almost looked movable, and a small stick holding it off the ground, most likely used for support. On the side it read in distinct silver scratches reading; SRR-61 Intervention.
There was a distinctly female and lady like cough that emitted from behind the stallion. He was startled and spun to his left and immediately recognized the mare sitting there on her haunches. She was a fashion designer by the name of Rarity.
Rarity was sporting the same headset as the stallion, with the addition of a square baseball cap over her mane and horn, and her vest was more rugged, containing more boxes, as well as multiple patches with a red cross for medical supplies. A pair of defibrillators was strapped to her side as well, not like the white ones in Canterlot, no these where brown and had a smaller battery with solar panels on top.
Rarity had a object at her hooves as well; It was a tan object, not like his which was black. It had multiple switched and a small appendage which could be pulled back on both sides. It had a grip at the front, a ways past the box and under the pole. Said pole supported a sort of thicker end for some reason unknown. It had a shorter telescope than the one on the stallion's, but it could probably see far things none the less. Unlike the stallion's object, its back was thick and looked solid, while his looked hollow and movable. It to read something: SCAR-H
Behind Rarity was a good friend of the stallion's, the professor of astronomy in Celestia's School of Gifted Unicorns, sitting on his haunches was Doctor Whooves.
The Doctor had the same headset as the stallion, but this time with a helmet covered in the same green material. His vest had so much of those boxes on it, it just screamed overkill. Two large belts of bronze covered his body, and a very large tube on his back that read; IGLA .
His object was black like the stallion's, but its box was green. It was more square, with the front shaping to a short pole. It had a V shaped support like the stallion's, but not one at the back. Speaking of, it looked solid, as of it needed to support a massive amount of push on it. It read, like the others on the side in white scratches; M249 SAW .
The final pony in the stallion's vicinity was a filly, \ she had a Orange coat and a Purple mane. The stallion didn't remember her, only thought she looked familiar. She was a pegasus like him, but her wings where too small for use, almost as if they hadn't grown since birth. She had the same headset as everypony else, but nothing on her head other than a pair of goggles. Her vest like ours had multiple boxes on it, but she had what looked like a small hoof held blowtorch. Multiple Clay-like objects reading C4 on them, darted her waist. When she tried to sit up, it looked like everything was to heavy for her.
By her hooves was another black object. The shortest of them all, it looked as if it had two poles at the front, but the top one cut off half way. With nothing under the pole, the box was not as big as everypony else's, and the trigger was her hoof size. The pole looked like it continued to the back, but it was much larger and had a curved pad connecting to it. On the side it read Galil ACE .
Just when everything seemed calm and the stallion was ready to start questioning the three others surrounding him, all four of them where forced to the ground on their back in a jolt of pain. The sky, which was originally blue, now had a grid pattern of grey. A large blue line shot across the sky, stretching from south to north.
"Welcome everypony, griffon, donkey, zebra, and minotaur." boomed a male voice the stallion had never heard before, the line pulsated as if reading his sound waves.
"You are now in Battlefield, you and your four creature team must eliminate, or ally with, all other teams, don't worry, if you die you will only disintegrate into nothing and be brought back into the real world"
"I cannot tell you what the prize is for winning Battlefield, but only know it is worth more than life itself"
"You will find that walking bipedal is easy and feasible, and the rifle before you is your weapon. Now, you may shoot your team mates now and go it alone, but this is your choice, you will also find you are already an expert with your given equipment"
At this point, there was gunfire and screaming afar off as some decided to go alone.
"The world you are in is not Equestria, it is four biomes, The south is the desert, the west is a city, the east is a jungle, and the north is a snowy mountain range"
"You all have new talents and weapons, use them well"
"You are at war now ponies, good luck"
The four ponies stood up on their two hind legs, easy enough, their pain had passed by now. They gave each other a once over, confirming they weren't going to shoot each other. The rules seems simple, very simple, but brutal. The stallion noticed something he didn't before:
Rarity read Assault on the right breast of her vest.
Doctor Whooves read support.
The filly read Engineer.
The stallion, looking down, read Recon.
And on all of them, on their left breast, read Sword.
They were a team.

Chapter Two - Getting Acquainted
"What the buck" were the stallions first words of the day. Waking up in a new world, having the strange ability to walk bipedal, being armed to the teeth with weapons that were scrapped thousands of years ago that are now modern, and being put on a team with three other ponies and being told to kill everypony, or ally with those you can, is not a good morning.
"Sir, there are children!" shouted Rarity, gesturing to the filly.
Rarity began to take a look at the fillies gear "Here let me get that off you, Scootaloo."
The filly, apparently named Scootaloo, shook her off, "Didn't you hear what that guy said Rarity? Were at war!"
"Yes and thats why we should get it off you! A battlefield field is no place for a filly!" Rarity shouted, starting an argument with the filly.
"I'm old enough to take care of myself Rarity..." Scootaloo said, giving Rarity a spiteful look.
"The fillies right" the Doctor said, before Rarity could continue the argument. "We need to get to safety and make a plan, where exposed out here. We're not ponies anymore, we're soldiers. We might as well forget our past and start acting like an army."
The stallion took a quick look at the surroundings, they where in the middle of a flat plane of sand, to the right was flat land, but he could see rocks in the distance, to the left and north where dunes, and to the south was more flat sand.
"Those rocks look like our best bet" He said. He coughed after saying a more lengthy statement. The stallion caught his breath and fixed the dryness of his mouth.
"What rocks?" The Doctor questioned.
"Those rocks, to the west" The stallion said again. He pointed out to where he clearly saw rocks.
"We can't see any rocks dear" Rarity stated. Giving the stallion a confused look.
"Hey didn't the wavy line say we had new talents and abilities? Maybe he can see things far away" Scootaloo suggested. Shockingly, it made sense.
They all gained new abilities and talents. Still with their remaining cutiemarks.
The Doctor gave a gesture to where I had said the rocks are, "If he says they're there, they're there." he began walking, bipedal like it was nothing, toward the west only turning back to notice nopony was following him. "Well come on then! We're dead if we're staying here!"
Nopony moved.
The stallion sighed, "The Doctors right, I'm sorry Rarity, but we're all in the war here."
"But I---umm, what was your name again?"
"It's nothing to you. You call me Recon." The Stallion said. He came up with this excuse to hide the fact that he still didn't know his name. He was wondering why the Doctor had not said anything yet, but he disregarded it, and kept on with his reasoning. "We may as well act like each other and live to tell the tale."
Rarity pondered this. Before she could speak up, Scootaloo made a statement,
"Recon is right," she said. "We're a team, so lets work together, as friends."
Scootaloo held her hoof out to Rarity, who was still leaned back on a rock. She helped Rarity up, and began walking after The Doctor, Rarity followed and I made up the rear.
A shot rang out in the distance as they made their way to the rocks.
Conversation strung up between the group, The Doctor and Recon explained the work at Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, Recon's profession in biogenic engineering and molecular construction and studies, and The Doctor being an astronomy professor. Rarity talked a bit about her work in Ponyville. Thats when Scootaloo chimed in, she talked about her and the CMC, and how they should look for another filly named Apple Bloom. Rarity spoke about her friends, the elements of harmony, and how they should find them too. Recon didn't say much after that, he didn't have many friends. The Doctor is nice, but he was always so...busy. Other than the occasional stallion or mare he talked to when with the doctor, there wasn't much friendship in Recon's life. Not that he could remember at least.
Recon noticed they had arrived at their destination, where they had been for about five minutes, in the rocks. Rocky spires and massive boulder sprang up around the ground, as we were passing rather close to a rock on the left side of some sort of dirt path. Recon could faintly make out something in the distance, but he couldn't identify it before The Doctor raised his right fore hoof, and snapped. "Shhh!"
Everypony stopped.
The Doctor crouched down to a stealthy position and gestured to us to do the same, we followed. Rarity spoke up, not whispering, "What is it dear, why are you in such a panic all of a sudden?"
"Shh!" The Doctor said. "Something's here...I can feel it."
"New powers?" Scootaloo chimed in.
"SHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" The Doctor said. We remained silent.
"State location..." Recon whispered.
"There's only one, they're somewhere up ahead" The Doctor replied quietly.
Recon moved to the front of the group, and lifted up the long rifle he had and looked through the scope. Aside from the randomly placed rocks, there was nothing that stood out.
"I can't see anything." Recon said.
The Doctor made no response for a few minutes, there was a muffled beeping coming from his rifle, he had a motion sensor that lit up in a blue light as it went off slowly.
It stopped beeping
"It's gone..." The Doctor said, astonished.
"Where was it last?" Scootaloo asked.
"It looked like it was right in front of Recon, but it's gone." The Doctor stated.
"Uhh...uhhh.." Rarity muttered. She fell back and pointed to the top of a rock..
The Doctor, Scootaloo, and Recon looked up to where Rarity was pointing.
Standing atop the rock they where positioned at, was a wyvern. It had a large head with a leather crest and two long horns. Its body was long and sleek, and covered with sharp scales. It had two large leathery wings with scaly plating on the muscle. The scales on the top half of its body where red, and the underside that where a tan color. Giving it natural camouflage. Its two legs looked powerful, and menacing, featuring three toes with long claws on them. Its tail was nothing short of big, and looked like it could smash a pony to bits.
It pounced, landing atop Recon and bashing The Doctor aside. Scootaloo lifted her gun, and squeezed the trigger, the Galil let out a volley of bullets out of the barrel as it shot Scootaloo back from the recoil. She fell back and regained her stance. She tried to fire again but had no ammo.
Rarity turned and fired at the wyvern, striking it in the leg. It got off me and charged at Rarity, jaws open. She was paralyzed, just as it was about to bite her head off, The Doctor had regained himself and jumped in the way, bracing the full force of its jaws around his waist. The monster shook him as his blood spilt all over the ground.
Recon grabbed his gun and fired at the wyvern, his left ear fell flat as the sound of Intervention was astonishing. When the bullet struck the wyvern, it took off its left wing in a geyser of blood from the .50 caliber bullet that just tore through it. The bleeding, and screaming, wyvern threw The Doctor into a near by rock a few meters across the plain. His still streaming blood traveled with him staining the rock. Recon had made his way over to a blood coated Rarity and pulled her over to Scootaloo.
The wyvern turned around, after letting out a screech, and charged them.
It would have killed them if it hadn't been blown to pieces, by something large and explosive. The impact knocked the ponies unconscious.
"What... What just happened?" Rarity said, waking up.
Scootaloo was cleaning the blood off her vest, and flatly said, "Big Mac."
Recon woke up, looking at the towering red pony. He got up, hooves on a small weapon just in case the stallion was going to attack.
"What are you going to do to him?" Recon asked.
"He looks pretty bad, theres a cave a ways north a here. Ah can take ya there." Big Mac said. For such a big pony, Big Macintosh was nothing but cautious. "...but ah need to know y'all wont shoot me in the back when we get there. I don't fall quickly, you'll be dead before you can put a second bullet in me." Big Mac sounded a bit morbid, and a hint of being upset, but the ponies trusted him nonetheless.
"I know you Big Mac, of course I trust you." Rarity said, deprived of any blood coating her. She gestured the Doctor. "He does look certainly horrible, we should get him to safety as soon as possible."
"Follow me" Big Mac said, picking the Doctor up over his shoulder and walking to the cave.
Rarity picked up Recon and The Doctor's gun with her magic, carrying hers in her forehooves. Scootaloo walked beside her, idly talking about her friends and the CMC. Recon, on the other hoof, made his way up to Big Mac and The Doctor, who was still unconcious. I immediately noticed that he was Support like The Doctor, and that his team strap read Stonehenge. He also noticed the difference in his equipment. He supported a gun with scratches that red SPAS-12 Dragonbreath Shotgun . It had the same hoof trigger design, but with a black body and a pump for the barrel and a underbarrel for some other use.
Recon noticed Big Macs gear was different too, he wore a Bandana like Recon, but his was done in a band, while Recon's covered his mane. He also had plating on his suit, mostly on his shoulders and arms, but also some on his breast and waste, on his left shoulder it read 'Breach and Burn' , Recon could only imagine what it said on the other. The rest was covered in orange shells for his Shotgun, and large objects that resembled explosives as well as a knife. On his back was a long metal tube, not as long as the one The Doctor carried, which was now in the grasp of Rarity's magic, but big nonetheless. It looked like it had another V shaped support but with a metal pad and antenna for a base, above that was a large hoof trigger. His sunglasses had an antenna on them too. The tubes scratches red; AppleBuck Mortar.
The ponies continued walking for about an hour, and finally reached the cave Big Mac mentioned. It was a quaint little hole-in-a-rock. About five meters back and three across. Rarity immediately went to work dusting it off with a medical cloth. Big Mac set down the Doctor and convinced Rarity to use her medical supplies on him rather than on the floor. Scootaloo took no hesitation with throwing down her rifle and falling asleep on her back at the far end of the cave. Recon, on the other hoof laid down on the cave exit and propped up Recon's rifle on its supports.
Recon began to count the boxes on his vest, "One, Two...Six, plus the one in use, which means--"
"Thirty four bullets." Big Macintosh cut in. The large stallion placed himself on the other side of the cave entrance, which was only three meters across, then widening to the caves full length. Big Mac pulled out a canteen from his vest and passed it over to Recon, he gladly took it and had a drink. Big Mac began to speak again."Ya'll know his names ain't Doctor Whooves right?"
"Yea, its Time Turner isn't it? He never liked that name, thats why he calls himself The Doctor" Recon gave a small chuckle, "His name, both of them, have nothing to do with astronomy."
"Hmm."
Recon tossed the canteen back to Big Macintosh, he took a sip then put it away. He idly began scraping on a stone with a knife he pulled from his vest.
"What happened to you? Wheres the rest of Stonehenge?" Recon asked, with extensive curiousity.
Big Mac stopped scraping on the word 'Stonehenge'. His forehooves collapsed in his lap. "Ya'll really want to know?"
Recon gave a nod, Big Mac gave a sigh and resumed his scratching while he told his story;
"When Ah came too, Ah was with Granny Smith, Braeburn, and Applejack. After that line in the sky explained the rules, me and Applejack grabbed our gear and rushed off to find Apple Bloom, we got about five trots before ah herd Braeburn shout, don't rightly know what he said, but that don't matter no more. Why Ah left Granny...Ah don't know, maybe Ah trusted Braeburn. Ah shouldn't have. Before Applejack could turn a shot rang out, Granny's head was blown apart. Ah did my best to cover Applejacks eyes, but Ah couldn't stop mahself from beating his skull in" Big Mac pounded the ground with a nearby rock as his face flushed redder than before. The other ponies could tell he was angry as he spoke. "By the time ah was done with the bastard Granny was disintegrating and disappearing, so was Braeburn. Ah turned to find Applejack, but she was already gone." Big mack pulled out a small gun from his waist, even smaller than Scootaloo's, it had a wooden handle and a drum for bullets. A small hammer and a barrel finished the firing system. It red Raging Bull . "This was Grannies, ah know she ain't dead, but it feels like she is."
A tear fell from Big Mac's eye as he finished his scraping. On the rock was a ponies skull atop a sword. He reached out a hoof, "Ponies need somethin' to follow, somethin' safe."
Recon returned the hoofbump, Big Mac's right shoulder and team stamp shined a bright white for a second, and reappeared with the same symbol on his shoulder of a sword and a skull, and the patch read Sword.
"Lets give em somethin' to follow"
He stabbed the knife into the ground.
"Friendship is magic, and were gonna uphold it."
Recon nodded, whoever, or whatever put them there, was going to regret it. There is going be a war, but when we win...we will take him down...
...and there isn't anything that will stop us.

Chapter Four - The Last Bullet
After hours and hours of traveling, the group finally made it to a suitable refuge. A nice cave with a concealed entrance, a used fireplace, and some gems. There were a lot of manually dug out areas, looked very professional. It was similar to diamond dog work. They set down their things and prepared an area for sleep. After that, they prepared a few defenses.
Amidst all of this, Recon was standing at the entrance looking for a tactical advantage point. He kept searching until he found an area. He took a closer look and saw a small figure with a medical pack and a small hoofgun. He pulled out his gun and looked through the scope to get an even closer look. The pony was a mare, with a yellow coat and a pink mane. Assuming that one of his team mates may know the pony, he gave gesture for Applejack to come to him.
"Wut is it partner?" she asked, looking in the same direction as him.
"Yellow Coat. Pink mane. Female." Recon said. "Any ID?"
"Is she frightenedish lookin'?" Applejack asked.
"Mortified." Recon replied.
"Yep, it's Flutters." Applejack confirmed. "Hold on, Ah'll get her." She walked out of the cave and up to the mountain. She whistled and waved to Fluttershy. Fluttershy seemed to instantly notice Applejack as she ran towards her. Once they made their way back to the cave, Applejack put down her weapon. Fluttershy walked up to Recon, assuming he was the leader of the group.
"I can't thank you enough for saving me from the horrible place." She said. "It was getting so cold, and...and I didn't know what to do...and I had a gun...and ponies were dying and...and..." A tear fell from her eye as she sat down and hung her head. Recon sat beside her, putting his arm around her.
"It's alright. None of this is real, it's just a simulation." He said. "And those extra medical supplies are thanks enough. You can put your excess supplies over there with the rest, and you can prepare a bed for yourself." Fluttershy sniffled, hugging him back. She nodded and began to slowly walk to the supplies. She began to organize everything, so it would be easier to reach.
Later that day, Recon was exploring around the cave area. Near the back there were a few extra rooms containing some extra supplies to loot. Recon sat down in one, on a bed made of clay. He sighed as he thought about what life he could remember. Honestly it wasn't much. Just...whatever he told the doctor was what came to mind. Other than that. nothing else. His ears perked up as he heard hoofsteps coming from the hallway. He looked up and saw Fluttershy standing at the door.
"Am I interrupting?" she asked. "I'm sorry..."
"No no, it's fine." Recon said. "I was hoping I could talk to somepony anyway." Fluttershy nodded and sat down beside him.
"What do you need to talk about?" She asked, smiling to him.
"I don't know..." Recon replied. "It's just...I can't remember anything from my past life, if it even exists. For all I know, I could just be a bot or something put into this so-called game!"
"It's probably the whole effect of being sent here." Fluttershy assured. "I'm sure it's just because of the magic involved in it."
"Maybe it could be a psychological connection." Recon suggested. "Maybe we all feel the same way." Fluttershy decided to stay quiet, as she didn't want to bring down his hopes.
"It will be okay, we can get out of this." Fluttershy said. "I can already tell you're a good leader if you've gotten this far." Recon smiled at that. He felt a little better about himself. He suddenly heard a small commotion outside. He got up and trotted out to see what was happening. A Rainbow mare and a Violet mare were now inside. They were both breathing heavily as they had been running from something. The Violet one was an alicorn, the only one that Recon had seen so far.
"Who are you?" He asked.
"Princess Twilight Sparkle." The violet mare said. She gesture to the other mare. "That's Rainbow Dash. We were just running from---" She was interrupted as the loud crack of a sniper rifle was heard. The bullet swept by her ear and hit Scootaloo in the face.
"We're under attack!!" Recon shouted. He saw about twenty to twenty five figures in the distance, resembling dogs. They mostly had Snipers and M249's. They unleashed a hellfire of bullets as they charged forward, killing first Applejack, then Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and finally Twilight. Recon stood as the bullets seemed to slow down around him. Suddenly, a bullet flew directing to his forehead and hit him. He fell down, lifeless. Watching himself fade away with the rest of his dead team. A sudden blast of napalm surrounded the dogs as they burnt from a bombing nearby.
Recon screamed as he jumped out of his bed. He was panting, his team died he didn't know what to do. He noticed he was in a bed, and sighed until he looked at the rest of his room.
White Cubes.
Metal Door.
He was in a solitary confinement.

Chapter Five - A Turn For The Worse (REWRITE)
Recon quickly sprung up, running to the door and trying to bash it down. When he came in contact with the door, he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder. Recon fell to the ground and held his shoulder with a hand. His thoughts returning to him, he remembered where he was. This was a solitary confinement room, it was crowded, dark, and lonely. These prisons were made like this for a reason, a bad one too.
He then noticed what he was. Looking down he saw some sort of undone straightjacket, and feet. Toes, nose, hands, fingers, feet, other parts unspecified...He was human. He quickly looked into a mirror, the striking resemblance of his pony self nearly knocked him off of his feet. Oddly, it was familiar. Like all of the face he saw, he remembered. His mind was becoming more and more warped as he kept thinking, 'Who am I? Where am I? How am I?' He was breathing very heavily. Though, after feeling lightheaded, he regulated his breathing. He looked at his bed, it wasn't an ordinary bed, but was hooked up to something.
The bed itself seemed to be made of metal. A thought suddenly entered Recon's head. 'What did they do to me?' He was now feeling a mix of fright and curiosity, but mostly confusion, as there was a large circuit board at the pillow. You could hardly call it that, the pillow was actually hooked up to it. The whole bed was a scientific device. It was some sort of mental experiment, and he was trapped in it.
He had to find a way to get out. He looked around for something tactical, and saw a small vent, but there was no way he could fit through it. The door was presumably locked and unbreakable. Recon had to make sure it was locked however. Recon slowly walked over to the door. He slowly checked to see if the door was locked by pulling the handle. Oddly, it wasn't. He budged it a bit so that it wouldn't latch back.
Suddenly, Recon heard footsteps, and a voice.
"Mister Recon?" the voice said. The footsteps stopped. "Is that what you called yourself?" Recon was silent, heavy unlocked door, and a guy looking for him. He had an instinct that there was something he could use. The footsteps got closer as a bit of fear purged through Recon's body, if he didn't do this right, he could risk his entire life...or at least what as left of it...
"Oh come on, I know you're awake, you need to get back to sleep, and respawn!" Recon ducked as to not be seen through the window of the door and waited till the perfect moment. When the footsteps were surely right outside the doorway, Recon lunged his body to the door, sending it swinging open. Who ever was standing there met their face with the door in a loud splat of flesh as they dropped their clip board. Recon cringed a bit at the sound. He wasn't sure he wanted to see the face of his victim, but he walked out and examined the corpse. The face was definitely caved in. Nose broken, looked even inside out; both lips busted to the point in which they were barely recognizable as lips; but most importantly Recon saw a small hand gun on the corpse. Recon kneeled down, and took it. He tossed the body into the solitary confinement, locked the door, and proceeded to make his exit.
He looked around at all of the cells. People were stuck on their beds, this gave Recon a bit of a guilty feeling. Surely there was an unlock all button, somewhere in a control panel. He got an odd vibe that there would be one a few stories up. He saw a staircase leading to the second floor of the circular room, and made his way towards it.
He heard more footsteps. It sounded less like the small patting of dress shoes on a scientist, but more like the intimidating thud of a metal boot. Recon saw two guards coming down the stairs, he quickly ducked behind the staircase and waited for the guards to walk down. He knew all of his fear, intimidation, and hyper-activeness had to be set aside for him to get this right. With every step they took going down the metal steps, he felt sweat running down his forehead. It had to be perfect.
Luckily for him, he had an advantage. The staircase was not solid, it had a place where he could reach out and grab one of them. He planned his attack, and once they got down, he grabbed ones foot and yanked it, sending him face first to the floor, the other tripped and fell down the staircase. Recon took a knife off of the first one from under the staircase and threw it at the second guard. He fell down in pain as the knife it his neck, barely missing the artery that kept him alive. He scattered around trying to find something on him to heal it up as Recon used his fists to beat the other soldier to death. The second guard got on his feet and aimed the gun at Recon, who instinctively raised the almost dead body to use as a human shield. The guard, without thinking, shot a couple of rounds into his partner, who was now dead. The small bullets could only penetrate the skin deep enough to make them bleed, but could not proceed into a clean shot. Recon quickly lifted the handgun he looted off of the scientist, and fired three bullets at the guard. He slowly fell down, choking, as Recon had shot his neck.
Recon dropped the body, and the pistol. He couldn't believe the horrible feeling that just came over him, watching someone die, someone that he killed. It was like watching someones soul leave their body. Recon forced the feeling away, as it was a distraction, and looted the two bodies.
"Cleanup on isle seven..." He muttered, trying to cheer himself up. He began to ascend the staircase.

'That was such a cheesy joke...' Recon thought to himself as he made his way slowly up the stairs. Oddly, there weren't as many guards as he suspected. Only occasional sleeping techies. His feeling of unrest faded away as his equilibrium returned, allowing him to properly and completely process his thought. He felt a bit of tiredness in his legs. Taking a few deep breaths, Recon approached a sleeping technician. Overriding all guilt whilst wielding the knife he looted off of a guard from earlier, he stabbed the technicians neck, and sat him on the floor in a position that would conceal the blood.
Recon let himself fall onto the chair, dropping his weapon on the floor and resting his eyes. Whatever they did to him, it was coming back. He assumed they used some sort of temporary sedative. He groaned and brought his hand to his neck as it began to ache, along with his head and legs. Whatever he was in had a mental effect on him, a very painful one. Recon's thoughts began to scatter, but before things got too severe, he mustered up the strength to align his mind once more. Shaking his head, and getting up, he could feel his mind settling down as his aches slowly faded away. Something to keep a mental note of, he could overcome the mental sickness that the machine gave him.
He looked up to the next flight of stairs, and began to ascend them.
"We're under attack!!" A voice sounded as a loud explosion is heard. The voice was that of a stallion. His coat was beige, and his cutiemark was the image of three bags of money. He had on a rugged collar with a torn tie. His once shiny black mane was now a filthy pile of dust and sand. He sat back with an M16 assault rifle, his hoof on the trigger and ready to fight. Bullets whizzed by as his team died one by one.
"Filthy! We gotta find some better cover!" Another stallion shouted. He wore a black sheriff hat on his head. Rugged from damage, with a bullet hold in it, the hat lay lopsided as it's rich color was tattered by the warfare. He was a light brown stallion with a brown mane. He wore a ruined vest with a rusty sheriff badge. It almost resembled his cutiemark, on the exception of the oxidization. The stallion used a magnum as means of defense, as he wore a holster with multiple bullets on it. As many could guess, it was all torn and tattered, but still in tact.
"No really?!" Filthy Rich shouted, holding his rifle over his head and firing it. When the weapon clicked, Filthy instinctively swung it down and switched the magazine load in it. "Silver! Over there! I think it will do for now!"
"Got it!" Silver Star replied, swinging his magnum towards the enemy side. Before he could pull the trigger, he saw a bullet heading right between his eyes. His eyes widened for a split second as his life flashed before his eyes on the reflection of the tip of a bullet. He then cringed, expecting to feel the bullet tear his skull inside-out. However, after a few moments of feeling, hearing, and actually smelling nothing, he opened his eyes to see the bullet still in front of him. He looked over at Filthy, who looked back at him.
"What the Bloody'ell happened?" He asked, moving under is now sustained in space gun.
"I dunno..." Silver replied, looking around at the enemies. "You suspect we beat the game?"
"Maybe it there's a way out then." Filthy said. "Hand me your magnum."
"Filthy...what are you trying to do?" Silver asked.
"Trying to get us out." Filthy replied. Silver sighed and tossed the magnum to him.

Recon resumed ascending the seemingly endless stairs. He heard a thud and stopped, looking at a door, he saw a stallion beating on it, then another, then another. That techie died, they were all waking up, with no one to put them out again. Recon had the feeling it would sound an alarm after a while. A bit of sweat fell down his brow. He was going to have a lot of fighting to do in the next few minutes. Recon loaded all of his weapons to full capacity and readied himself to fight his way through the remainder of the building.
Awaiting the thud of metal boots, Recon hid himself again behind the staircase. Head pounding, hands shaking, never stopping, never fading. His heart beating inside of his chest, sweat pouring down his head. It seemed as if he were overreacting, and yet he knew he had something to fear. Before long, soft thumps sounded above his floor of the building, and getting closer, loud clanks of metal to metal. Recon's heart thumped violently against his chest as his adrenaline raised to seemingly unnatural levels. He held on tightly to the looted rifle, and swung across the stairs delivering a hellfire of bullets into the approaching army.
Closing his eyes, he heard nothing but screaming and shouting which was amplified above all other sounds. When his gun began to click, he slowly opened his eyes. His heart dropped when he looked down and saw what he had been afraid of the entire time.

Chapter Seven - The End of Everything.
Recon dropped his weapon at the sight. There lie, in a pile of corpses...and a puddle of blood, an innocent person. Somehow, a part of him knew there was someone being carried down at this time, and apparently it wasn't because of an alarm. He suspected he may have fallen victim to some sort of memory loss, or something he remembered before whatever cruel pony threw him in that machine. Maybe he got out before. Maybe he was supposed to do this before he was restrained again. He didn't know. All he knew, was that he had to get to the top of this building, and turn it OFF.
'5:30 PM ' A thought flashed in his head. Just, out of no where images and thoughts flooded back to him. As he ascended the stairs, a second conscience seemed to take over his fighting, while the other concentrated on piecing together his thoughts.
'Battle And Tactical Training in Living Environments.' he heard, with a mix of his gun firing at soldiers and technicians. 'The B.F.P.; The Experimentation Agreement; Corporate Issues; Advancing technologies; Danger of Homo-sapien dislike...' It was as if his mind was recollecting everything out of order.
He kept pushing until finally he reached the last floor. In the midst of all his thoughts, time itself seemed to speed up until the point in which he couldn't proceed further. A large control panel, documents everywhere.
Recon walked to one of the documents, and picked them up. He then tossed it back down and looked around the area. A large dome, metal wiring and glass roofing. He looked outside and saw large buildings with pipelines and electricity running through them. Large tesla towers and round objects that seemed like energy cores.
Recon heard footsteps and quickly closed off and locked all of the entrances to the area in which he was in. He couldn't have any interruptions. He was going to shut this thing down, and kill it's creator, no matter the cost. Not like he had one anyway, he didn't have a life left.
Recon walked back to the document, and picked it up. Looking around the room once more and seeing no one, he opened it. A bit of dust flew out. He coughed a bit and fanned it away. Using his new index finger, he pointed out the words for his assistance in reading.
THE B.A.T.T.L.E.FIELD PROJECT
The B.A.T.T.L.E. Field Project (Battle And Tactical Training in Living Environments) is a project used to advance military soldiers, while also punishing criminals in a completely new and improved way. Under the creator Doctor Trace Dyson , our crime-rate and military has improved! Though, there are also mental problems with some, one of them being memory loss. Our creator himself bravely entered the machine and tried to fix it, but he fell victim also. It has now fallen under my command, and I hope that I will not disappoint or bring down the name of Trace Dyson.

"The BFP...Battle field project!" Recon said to himself. "Doctor Trace Dyson...I know that name...I know it so well I just don't know where." Recon began to look through all of the other documents. One after another, they'd proven useless to him.
After a few minutes of frantic searching, he found another that struck his interest.
The Experimentation Agreement
I, Doctor Trace Dyson hear-by sign this document, saying that in any case of error, or issue, I will become the experiment for my own machine no matter the cost.
~Note: That won't happen.
"I recognize the handwriting too..." Recon said. He picked up another document.
Corporate Issues
My apologies everyone. This is a memo to all of our staff. We are going through corporate issues at the moment and we have been threatened to be shut down for a side effect of our project, homo-sapien dislike. We have to change from our original human environment, to that of one filled with anthropomorphic horses. Yes I know it's silly, but it's the easiest thing for our processors and programs to handle and execute.

I created this monster of technology, and I need you to destroy it. If anything, you are my and everyone else's best hope. This project has nothing to do with, ponies, or Battlefield...this is a psychiatric testing zone. It drives dozens insane...daily! Recon, you HAVE to shut it down. After that, your best bet is to use that pistol on the desk, and shut YOU down. You'll know why with my signature.

Recon just stopped everything. Breathing, thinking, moving...His mind was blank. All thoughts had vanished, except for the fact that he was the reason for all of the innocent deaths. He took the paper and tore it in half, his face flushing red, sweat pouring down his face. He walked up to the control panel, and turned everything off. Recon, now Trace, punched his control panel. His hands bleeding, and swelling from the electric sparks and sharp edges. He didn't care. He just destroyed it, destroyed all of it. He fell back onto the floor and covered his face.
"Why did I do this..." He muttered, his eyes tearing up from all of the stress. "I have to end it."
Trace now brought his weak self to his feet. Taking the loaded M9 on the table, and putting it to his head. He screamed and pulled the trigger.

Chapter Three - Assault in Progress
"Three clicks ahead." Big Mac said, pointing in the direction of a town. "That's the town, I'm sure there's a hospital of some sort there." The five ponies headed to the town to find medical attention for The Doctor. Funny that, the doctor needs a doctor. Recon's ears perked up. He gave a gesture to stop. Looking around, he whispered,
"I hear something..."
Everypony readied their weapons. Looking around them at vast planes and forest. The surrounding suspense was nearly overwhelming. A sudden flick of the ear, and a leaf being stomped on nearby. Within the blink of an eye, something blurred across the terrain. Their hearts were beating slowly as their hooves shook. They tried staying concentrated on the environment around them.
"To the town!" Recon shouted. He gave a gesture to Big Mac, who was carrying the Doctors weapon. Big Mac nodded quickly and let a Hellfire of bullets emit from the barrel of the SAW. Blood was spilt all over the nearby vegetation as the others made their way to the town. Big Mac ran out of ammo and proceeded to run to the entrance. A bullet whizzed by his ear as the other team began to fire at him. He slid down to cover and began to reload as bullets rained from the forest they had just escaped. He was now in the sand. An odd generation for a biome switch, but none the less useful as the big rock Big Mac was using was very sufficient cover. Mac looked up at a tall building and saw some silhouettes emerge from the top. They had long rifles with suppressors on their ends. They all aimed at the opposing team and fired, killing them all. Big Mac sighed and waved at them as a thank you. Big Mac noticed the figure above didn't look like a pony, it had claws, wings, and a beak. They were gryphons. Recon ran over to the Doctor and started to drag him inside. Unfortunately, before Big Mac could take another step, his head was torn from side to side as a .50 caliber bullet penetrated his skull. He felt only a small dull pain before the bulled drug the outer skin of his face deep into is brain and out the other side. Big Mac fell dead. The gryphons were bandits, and began to fire at Recon and the others. They quickly found cover in a nearby building.
Recon hauled the Doctor in a cool room and gestured Rarity to bandage him. Rarity nodded and began to patch up his wounds. Recon motioned for Scootaloo to walk with him. They slowly crawled out of their hiding to take a look at the field. Recon noticed a gadget on a dead body, it seemed like an NVG. Recon took the Goggles and put them on. It revealed enemies with outlines.
"Just what I need." Recon said. He pulled up his weapon, leaned over and took out one of the Gryphon snipers. The bullet penetrated the Gryphon's head, and burst through the back. It was a clean shot, a bit of blood trickled down the hole in the Gryphon's skull as it fell downwards off the high building it was on. The other Gryphons became alarmed and began to fire at buildings and windows near Recon. He quickly ducked in to avoid any contact between his skin and a .50 Cal. When Recon came back out to shoot, another Gryphon had came up behind Recon and threw his gun out of his hooves. Recon reached for his knife, but the Gryphon was too quick. He stomped Recon's hoof, sending pain surging through his arm. The Gryphon took out a desert eagle, and lifted it to Recon's head.
"Say goodbye, scum." The Gryphon said, just as he pulled the trigger, a beige pony jumped out and tackled him. The Gryphon shot a bulled into the beige pony, causing a large clot of blood to spill out onto the floor. The stallion seemed to ignore it though, as he took out a combat knife and began to tear the Gryphon's face apart. The stallion fell back as the shot in his chest rendered him dead. It was the Doctor. Recon trotted to the Doctor to try to help him, but it was too late.
"Doctor, don't die...don't die." Recon begged, trying to keep the Doctor from bleeding.
"It...was a lie..." The Doctor muttered before falling down.
"Doctor! Doctor!" Recon shouted. When he realized the Doctor was dead, he slammed his hoof on the Doctors chest in anger. A tear formed in his eye, slowly falling down his cheek. He knew the Doctor. His one real friend. Always helped him in his studies, and with his problems. Recon noticed those last words..It was a lie...What did it mean? Recon got up. There was no more time for mourning. He was the leader now. The Doctor...was dead. Recon looked to Rarity, and Scootaloo. His last soldiers. "We have to leave. Now." He said. Recon picked up his weapon, and some spare supplies from the Doctor. It was time to leave.
The plan was simple. Hide and escape. The three made their way through the city, trying to get to an area in the snowy mountains. Recon could see through the weather well, so it was his best bet, as nopony else could. Recon would occasionally kill a Gryphon behind to get past them. They heard something strange, a rumbling noise. They were very close to the exit. Recon gave a gesture to move. They all ran outside of the gates as the Gryphons were distracted. One by one, the Gryphons noticed the escapees and began to fire. The sound of rumbling got closer. It sounded like...choppers?
The three escapees took cover behind a rock, as they heard an intercom turning on. The voice sounded so familiar, almost like Big Mac, but feminine.
"Howdy yall! I suggest ya' say yur prayers because it's fixin' to turn into Hell down there!" the voice shouted. Three large choppers flew over the town. The Gryphons tried to shoot them down, but it was no use. The large Apache's fired an entire arsenal of missiles into the town, utterly destroying it and all of its inhabitants. When the choppers were finished with the bombing, they flew over Recon, Rarity, and Scootaloo. One stopped as a rope was released. An Orange mare with a cowboy hat and an M16 Rifle slid down and jumped onto the ground, right behind a small yellow filly with a Red Mane and ribbon.
"Howdy." The orange one said. She had freckles, a beige-ish mane. "Name's Applejack, this is mah sister, Apple Bloom." Apple Bloom waved. She then noticed Scootaloo.
"Scootaloo!" Apple Bloom said, running up to Scoots and hugging her. Scoots hugged her back and smiled. "You survived!"
"Yep, thanks to this guy." Scootaloo said, pointing to Recon.
"Well sir, nice to meet ya!" Applejack said, offering her hoof to shake. Recon reluctantly shook her hoof. "What's your name?"
"That's to none of your concern." Recon said. He looked at Rarity and Scootaloo. "This is all we have left. You're either with us, or against us. You stay, you're under my command, you got it?"
"Sound's like a plan to me!" Applejack replied happily. "Where are we going Commander?"
"Snowy Mountains."

Yes Milo, and today we have a certain topic, that isn't very sunshiny.
Oh no it's not, Tibby, but it had a sunshiny ending!
But of course! Let us get started shall we?
Yes we shall. Now, if anyone remembers Doctor Trace Dyson's Battlefield project, it had a lot of conspiracy theories. After Trace's memory loss, there were even more as there were multiple reports, with more and more people turning insane.
But breaking news today, Trace Dyson's body was found with a bullet wound...to his head! He was lying at the top of his building with a bunch of paper scattered around, but this was after he revealed all of the secrets and intentions of the company after he shut down all of the machines and wreaked havoc over the area. People are being escorted and staff arrested as we speak.
Yep, and one of them are being put on death row. He was actually one of Trace Dyson's closest associates, Doctor Carver Aidan, who took the company over after Trace's incident.
