I have to be perfect. I have to make sure every move I make is right. I know if I’m half way there and I mess up, I have to start over. I can’t let my teeth touch the table cloth, as I reach for my napkin. I can’t let my glass of sparkling cider spill. Not one drop. I can’t loosen the tight strings around my torso. The dress I am wearing is a size too small, but I must keep quiet. If somepony says something that is supposed to be funny, I am expected to laugh. Not a giggle, not a loud, “Pinkie Pie” laugh, but a quiet chuckle. And I have one serving of every course- not a bite more. This is my life. This is how I am expected to act. My mother expects me to act this way, and does my father. My aunt as well. My name is Princess Calla. Granddaughter of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, princess of love. Nopony believes that I could be Princess Cadence’s granddaughter, knowing that I am so stubborn. Even my family thinks that I couldn’t possibly be related to her. Sometimes I myself think that I was adopted. I’m nothing like my sisters. They are appreciated around the Crystal Empire, following all the castle rules and manners. Me on the other hand, can’t do anything right. I mean, I try! Seriously! It’s just impossible to do everything right. Obviously it is possible, knowing that my sisters do it every single day though. When I reach for my napkin, my chin touches the table and sometimes I knock over my cider. I honestly hate sparkling cider. I’d rather go and have normal cider in Ponyville. I heard that my grandmother had a friend named Applejack who made the best apple cider in Equestria. The best apples too! It is my dream to taste a zap-apple, but I’m pretty sure that that is never going to happen. One last thing- I hate being a Princess. Even if I did go to Ponyville, I know they wouldn’t accept me. I know that they would bow down to me. Well, first they would bow down to me, and then they would laugh. They would laugh because I would have either tripped on my dress, or fainted from how tight the flocking dress was.
My parents said that I spent too much time outdoors talking to peasants, so now I stay only inside. The weirdest part about my royal life is that we weren’t born alicorns. Both my parents were alicorns, yet all of my siblings, including me, were born as earth ponies. Now I am an alicorn, but I don’t really care about having a horn. My wings are ever so important to me. Flying is the only thing I have- the only thing I can do to keep myself alive. If I don’t fly, I’ll have nothing to do. If I have nothing to do, I will be bored. If I get any more bored, I will have nothing to live for. ‘Cause what I’m living? Pffffttt. That ‘aint a life.
