Spike had Applejack tied to a table in the cellar. One of the things he was most happiest to have learned under Applejack as her dragon servant was how to tie proper knots. Something Applejack didn’t seem to appreciate when she came up struggling in her bindings.

The oaken table thankfully had been nailed shut for when it was previously in use so that no valuable cider or other goodies would fall off easily. It also kept friends from running off before he could explain why they needed to be preserved this way.

Spike was busy moving down a few tables from the waggon he procured, Twilight was sad what Spike said he needed a break to compose himself and get over his losses. But she said that he could take as long as he needed, and if he ever wanted to talk she’d be there for him.

In Spike’s eyes, she really was the best mom ever. And soon she wouldn’t have those nightmares of losing everypony, something that made his own fears of that day coming even worse. At least until Luna helped him see what he must do.

He would’ve loved to do Rarity first, since he loved her dearly. But Applejack was leaving and if she died out on the road, he would never have saved her by making her last forever. At least in a sense. A part of him knew that Apple Bloom would be sad when Applejack disappeared, but who knew, after his friends were immortalized. He might move onto their families next. So that way they’d never be lonely again.

After Spike had set up his little sewing room in the cellar, he looked at Applejack with a grin. As he saw the hurt and betrayal in her eyes he gave a little chuckle, “Don’t look like that AJ. I’m giving you the greatest gift of all. Immortality. After I make a suit out of all of my friends I never have to worry about losing you girls, you’ll always be with me and each other. How great is that?”

Applejack looked at him as if peering into his very soul. And after seeing deep inside her he could see the fight leave her body. Removing her gag he said, “Sorry about that I just didn’t want you hurting your throat screaming. But don’t worry, it’ll all be over soon. Then you, the girls, even Twilight can be happy forever.”

“Ya plan on killin’ Twi too?” Applejack asked, her voice quivering, although Spike couldn’t grasp why she’d be sad with the good thing he was doing for all of them.

“Of course not, she’s an Alicorn. They don’t die, but I know she’s had nightmares about losing you girls. Honestly I used to be afraid of that day too, but not anymore. It’ll be better, you’ll see.”

“Sugarcube, Spike, ya don’t have ta do this. I don’t know why ya think ya have ta do this but it ain’t right. Ponies die Spike, ponies drift apart, heck even sometimes they just lose their way. But ya got ta let it happen. It’s a part’a life,” Applejack said looking at him. Rivulets of tears running down her face.

“Sorry AJ. I can’t do that. You girls don’t get it, I have nothing to remember you buy. No pictures, very few memories of me and you girls. When you die, that’d be it, heck, Tirek’s attack proved that even pictures can get destroyed. But not this, I’m going to ensure that you girl’s stay together forever.”

AJ wanted to scream. She wanted to curse his soul to Tartarus for the unfairness of it all. But she just didn’t have it in her. He was right, she had a few vague memories of him other than the disaster’s he made a path for them to blunder into.

Worst of all, looking at that sweet little dragon, and the same stubborn drive that her sister and her friends had when crusading. She knew that nothing was going to deviate him from his plans.

She always thought if she was in trouble like this. Well not exactly like this, but something similar. She’d fight. That she’d scream and bite and holler till her throat bled. But having a pony that she thought of as a good acquaintance, seeing how crappy of a friend she was and the little brother to her best friend. She just had no will to fight, who knows I might meet my ma and pa after this. I wish I could get through to that little guy before he does something he’ll regret for the rest of his life.

Spike walked over with a syringe full of something she couldn’t identify and plunged it into her body, “You know working for Twilight has taught me a lot about alchemy, medicinal herbs, and chemistry. This little cocktail will make what comes next painless, and who knows you might enjoy it once it kicks in.”

Colt was he right, as the toxin cocktail entered her brain she started to feel as if she was floating outside of her body. She looked down as Spike took his sharp claws and skinned her body. She knew that this was wrong, but putting the words to her mouth from her addled brain was proving difficult.

She saw him cut off the bindings as he he got her back and forearm peeled like an orange. With great difficulty she mummbled, “Make sure ya, yoooo, I wonder if I’ll be a ghost after I bleed ta death?” She slurred.

“I bet you’d make a pretty ghost,” Spike said he severed her hoof, “Now I need to replace your blood with Liquid silicone to preserve what I don’t need of your body. That way future generations can know of the great Applejack.”

“No! I meant ta say … please do Fluttershy next? I-I’mma feelin’ a wee bit woozy,” Applejack said the poison keeping her from going into shock at the sight of her dismembered leg squirting blood, “She deserv”

She never finished her sentence. The blood loss had taken it’s toll and Spike had already injected a silicone drip to make her body a perfect ponyquin. Rarity was saying how it’d be perfect if Applejack and Rainbow Dash could stand still like those things, so she could make beautiful designs.

Now Spike had her still forever. And she’d never leave, “I guess you’re right Applejack. Fluttershy’s to nice to make her wait till last. I’ll make sure that I get a hold of her soon. Night, night AJ. We have a busy day tomorrow.”
