Chapters Discovery, and heading off.
Candy bounced into her room, as a normal energetic 5 year old filly would but this little filly never uttered a word, even to herself as she grabbed a small coloring book from her desk. She giggled to herself, as she picked up a crayon with her teeth and began drawing, using her mouth as her magic radar useless at the moment.
''Peppermint?'' came a voice, a small 6 year old pegasus filly with a autumn theme walked in. Her auntie Autumn, who surprising only a year older then her.
Candy never mouthed a word as she ran and hugged her auntie, almost like she was saying 'Yay, Auntie Autumn'. Autumn smiled, patting to supposedly mute filly on her head.
''Peppermint, your mommy has made cookies, let's get some.''
Candy smiled at the use of her nickname, which was Peppermint. Shortly after her birth, she gained a surname Rose due to a golden rose growing in the garden. Later, her nickname was used. Peppermint due to her swirly peppermint colored mane.
Peppermint, energetically bounced behind her autumn themed aunt, wanting some cookies. The two very small and young fillies ran into the kitchen, where Timid was just placed the warm cookies on the side.
''Not yet girls. There still hot, you don't want a burnt mouth, do you?'' said Dizzy, who was sat at the table, wanting for her cookies.
''Not really.'' came the reply from of course Autumn.
Peppermint never muttered and even mouthed a word, she just showed emotion to each conversation. Her parents really were starting to believe that she was mute.
The pair of fillies ran off into the living room to play with Peppermint's twin brother and sister pair, Rumble and Tumble. They were very identical, had the same grey coat and white wings as their 'father'. And they both had blonde, straw colored mane and tail but shared pink and purple heterochromic eyes from their mother.
Timid smiled, but her smile faded into a frown as she thought of Peppermint's muteness.
''What are we gonna do about her, Dizzy?''
''Send her to Luna's school.'' came the reply from the magazine reading mare.
''? 'Luna's school'?''
''Yep, read this.'' Dizzy showed Timid the magazine, which stated that Princess Luna had set up a school for disabled fillies and colts.
''Is this true?''
''Well, from what the magazine says. Don't know any more, sorry. Why not ask your mom?''
''I guess, mom normally knows everything. Go keep on eye of Peppermint and the twins, you know their likely a nab the cookies.''
Timid walked off, leaving Dizzy to creep over to the cookies and take a batch, of about 5 to herself and begin nibbling on them. Timid shook her head, looking at her wife in discourage from what she just said but walked off to the study part of the castle.
She pushed open the door, to the library and saw the purple alicorn reading a scroll, not even noticing that her daughter just walked in at least till Timid walked closer.
''Hey, Timid. What's wrong?''
''..Mom, is it true...that Luna has a school...for the disabled..?''
''Yep, she started it up about a year ago, I did want to know if you would send Candy.''
''Oh, I see...Um, me and Dizzy will think about it.''
''I do hope so, that filly is almost definitely mute. And she won't make friends here, at least there she might be able to.''
''I know, talking was never her strong point. I wonder, if her vocal cords snapped before birth or a little after causing her to be mute for life...'' thought Timid, looking at her mom.
''What do you think Dizzy will say?'' asked Twilight.
''...She already said to take her there.''
''Then, I suppose it's settled. It's a boarding school, so she won't be home for some time. Give it till Monday, then she has to go.'' said Twilight, looking at Timid though concern lingered in her eyes.
''...I know, I will tell her, the twins and Autumn. Including Nyx and Twinkle.''
That Monday was a sad one. Timid, holding onto Tumble, the female twin, stood next to Dizzy who was holding Rumble as they hugged and said goodbye to their muted filly. Peppermint waved goodbye, as she got onto the train, pulling a wheel bag behind her with her teeth.
She walked onto one of the seats next to the window and peeped out, waving to her parents. A small necklace gleamed from around her neck. She picked it up with her magic and as the string unraveled from her neck, the diamond pendent turned into a mini whiteboard. The filly wrote using her magic as a pen and showed her waving parents. Written was 'Goodbye, see you later'.
It brought tears to her parents eyes as well as her own, she frowned deeply and waved before turning the whiteboard back into her pendent, which safety secured itself around her neck.
Chuu! Chuu!
The train went as it began moving, taking the young filly and other passengers to Cantorlot. She looked at a small map, which her parents had gave her. It was a map tell her how to get to the school. She was gonna need it for sure.
Peppermint laid down on her seat, looking at the ceiling with a single purple eye, as her blue one was closed, darkness drifted over her eyes, as she fell to sleep. It was gonna be a long journey, so she thought that she should sleep and slowly drifted off into dreamland.
A hoof tapped her white coat, waking the small filly up. She shuffled and opened her heterochromic eyes, staring at the stallion, who had awoken her. He was the driver.
''Miss, we're here. I like to ask you to please get off the train.''
Peppermint nodded, understanding and hopped off her chair, grabbed her bag and walked out of the train, which almost insantly went. Chuu! Chuu! And began moving again.She watched it, as it slowly vanished into the distance, before glancing at her map and began walking into the big city of cantorlot.
Peppermint slowly walked through the chilly streets of Cantorlot. It was late autumn, which didn't help much. She was also getting pretty lost as the map had been blown away. She blinked her heterochromic eyes, and tap her necklace. It glimmered for a second.
She smiled, and thought to herself. The only time, she ever used a voice which brought a tear to her eye.
'Oh great, now I'm lost. Prefect, just prefect....Wait, my mommy said that my necklace could show me the way in the dark. Whatever that means?..... '.
She tapped it more, and the necklace gleamed more before shooting a small burst of light, in a certain direction. Peppermint looked at it for a moment, before smiling brightly.
She chased after the light, just as the sky crackled and burst. Her red and white mane sunk when the rain water landed on the curls and slowly, she walked to a gate, where the shining light stopped.
She looked at the gate, and tapped it with her hoof. A alarm went off, scaring her back, her thoughts running wild.
'What?! What!? What?! What...happened?! '
A mare walked out, it was a regal alicorn. Princess Luna!
''May I ask for your name?''
Peppermint stayed silent, her voice didn't work anyway and her magic just wouldn't work to pick up her necklace, whiteboard.
''Can't you talk?'' asked Luna.
Peppermint shook her head, mane deflect from the rain. Rain droplets fell off and hit the ground, joining the rest which was falling from the broken skies above.
''I see.'' Luna replied, her eyes catching glimpse of the still slightly shining pendent. ''Is that a pendent?''
Peppermint shook her head, horn finally glowing. She took the necklace off and transformed it into her whiteboard. Luna stared at the filly in slight shock.
''A whiteboard?''
Peppermint nodded, horn glowing brighter. She wrote onto the board, her thoughts. Written was her name, her true name. Not Peppermint.
''Candy Rose? As in Twilight Sparkle's granddaughter.''
Peppermint nodded, at the mention of her grandma. Luna smiled at the young 5 year old, and led her in.
''I will led you you to the office. There, I will get our student council.''
They walked into the building. All the walls were white and the ceiling was a see-through glass which when the sun was out, lit the place without the use of lights. Peppermint stood, mouth agape at the sight.
''Pretty stunning, isn't it?'' asked the moon princess.
Peppermint nodded, and ran forward in attempt to catch up with Luna. The two walked into a room, which was had a black door. Instead, Peppermint noticed that the walls were blue and coated in white, and black moons and stars.
''Sit down, I will get our two school councilors.''
Peppermint sat down, and waited. Luna smiled and left the room, to get the two foals. For what seemed to be hours was actually 10 minutes. Luna returned followed by a unicorn and a earth pony.
The unicorn was a cream filly with ruby eyes and a great mane and tail, that looked a bit like acid, just a bit. Around her horn was a glowing spiral, not like the magic a unicorn used. The earth pony was a dark brown colt with a aquamarine mane and tail, and grey eyes, which appeared to be blind.
''Candy, I would like you to meet Sapphire and Yuu, our school council.''
''Hello, Candy. I'm Yuu, my disability is blindness. I also have a twin sister named Aqua, who is a earth pony-sea pony hybrid.''
''And I'm Sapphire, my disability is with my horn. The glowing spiral is a birth deflect and thus I can't preform magic.''
Peppermint never said a word, but smiled brightly. Yuu and Sapphire frowned, sad that they couldn't directly talk to her.
''How about you two give her a tour and if you run into the other 6, tell her who they are.''
Peppermint heard 6 and thought to herself.
'Only 9 students, including me. Wow, must be rare to have a disability '.
The two foals nodded and led Peppermint out of the room and back into the white corridors.
''I hope you will like it here, Miss Candy.'' said Sapphire, smiling at her.
Peppermint tapped her whiteboard necklace and took it off with magic. Carefully, she wrote 'Please call me Peppermint'.
''Peppermint? Why Peppermint?'' asked Sapphire, repeating it for Yuu, who equally looked confused.
Peppermint smiled, and wrote the second bit to her sentence 'Due to my mane, silly. It's a nickname, my mommy and daddy gave me'.
''A nickname, by your parents due to your mane style...'' mumbled Sapphire.
''Peppermint, you a nice filly. Keeping a nickname, because of your parents.'' said Yuu.
Peppermint smiled brightly. Her horn glimmered and her necklace turned back into it's necklace form, around her neck.
''Where did you get that?'' asked Sapphire.
Peppermint smiled, opened her wheeler bag and showed them a picture of her parents.
''From your parents. Wait, I just noticed, your a alicorn?!''
Peppermint nodded, awkwardly at that.
''Wow, so cool!''
A small filly walked over to them and gently hit Sapphire. The filly was a light blue earth pony, or what seemed to be a earth pony. On her face was a pair of fins and there was fins on her side too. However, she shared her aquamarine mane with Yuu and had the same grey eyes, just lacking the blindness.
''Oy, Aqua, why do that?'' asked Sapphire.
''I'm deaf, you know.''
''How? You have your earpiece in and I know as well as you that you can read lips.''
''Fine, I hit you because you were bothering the poor filly.''
Peppermint looked between the arguing fillies, at least till Aqua saw her.
''Hi, my name is Aqua. Yuu, here is my twin brother. I'm half sea pony from my father side.''
Peppermint nodded and changed her necklace into it's writing form and wrote her name and told her to refer to her as Peppermint, instead of Candy Rose.
''Okay, I see your mute. That makes things good for me. Wait, till you meet our backwards talking filly, Miracle Screw or Screwy.''
Peppermint nodded, with a slight soundless chuckle.
The group of four talked for a bit, of course with Peppermint using her board instead of her mouth. A bell suddenly rang, and a filly ran past them yelling as she went. She even glanced at them. ''It's not class time, not class time.''
The filly was of earth pony with a brown coat, and grey hair. She also had blue eyes and had a cutie mark of a screw with a glowing white background with faded into a soft rainbow towards the bottom. She stared at them for a little while, as if trying to process what was going on and maybe, who Peppermint was, before running away
''That's Screwy, or her true name is Miracle Screw. She can't talk correctly, she's truly saying 'it's class time, it's class time'. You get me right?'' said Yuu.
Peppermint nodded, and turned her board back, into it's pendent form by putting it on and slowly walked behind the three foals towards the classroom, the foals were following the backwards yelling Screwy in front of them. The classroom, they headed to was a mathematics room where everypony seemed to be gathering.
''All students head to the maths room.'' said a intercom.
''What it say?'' asked Aqua, who despite wearing a earpiece, couldn't hear the intercoms very clearly.
''To go to maths, Aqua.'' said a still irritated Sapphire before calming herself down and turning to Peppermint, and her eye twitch as she said to the younger filly. ''Don't worry to much, Peppermint. Me and Aqua just fight a lot, as she thinks I'm taking her brother away from her. Hell, I don't even care about colts.''
Aqua growled at Sapphire, audible and turned to Peppermint, who was looking very awkward and worry about this small argument as she kept fidgeting.. ''Maybe, we should just show you the other four students, as you seen me, Yuu, Sapphire and Screwy.''
''I hate to admit it, but she's got a point for once.'' said Sapphire, earning herself a glare.
Yuu piped in and said, with sad eyes. ''I can't as I don't know who I'm pointing at.''
''I know, Yuu. I'll do it.'' Said Sapphire. ''Okay, first is Feather. See that pegasus with the cross eyes.''
She pointed over to a small filly pegasus. The pegasus was staring at her desk, with tears in her eyes. On her formerly pink hoof, was a trail of blood. Peppermint frowned but then gasped, recognizing who it was. The small, skinny pegasus had a darken pink coat and a thick purple mane as well as golden, cross eyes.
''She came from P...'' she noticed Peppermint walk towards the depressed filly. ''Wait, where are you going?''
Peppermint got her whiteboard and wrote 'I know her, she's...let's see...my second cousin...or is she my niece?...I don't know, but we know each other as second cousins..'. Sapphire stared at her for a second with shock, as she tried to piece together how that worked.
''Just be careful, ever since she joined here, she been cutting out of misery, as one of the students abuse her, for her eyes. I don't know how she'll react, or how our class bully will react to seeing you near her.''
Peppermint nodded, and walked over to the crying filly. She smiled, and the filly gasped as she noticed her, and hugged her. More tears rolled down her cheeks as she cried out. ''Peppermint! Peppermint! I so glad your here.''
Peppermint smiled and stroked her cousin's mane as if she was saying to her, 'it's alright, Feather'. But this definitely didn't calm down the crying filly, who was trying to smile but her tear-drenched face seemed to be ruining it.
''Wow, to think that's she's Feather's second cousin, that she was talking about.'' muttered Aqua.
''I know, I wonder if she could save Feather from this torment. Oh yea, what are we gonna do about the colt.'' said Sapphire, pointing to a black colt, who processed a grey mane and dark brown eyes, who had a scowl on his face as he stared at the two hugging fillies.
''We'll do something about that bully later. I have more concerns, is he gonna bully Peppermint due to being Feather's cousin, and the fact she's mute and unable to fight back.'' mumbled Yuu, with worry.
''Hey, isn't Aura looking a bit more annoyed than normal.'' said Aqua, staring at a grey filly in the class.
The filly was a grey pegasus, with a straight streaked mane of white and black and green eyes which were glaring around the class. She looked irritated, as she glared at the black coat. Not to mention, she was twitching with annoyance every time she noticed him scowl at the new filly and Feather.
''Oy, Feather!'' said a colt voice. Aqua, Yuu and Sapphire turned to the source. Aqua gasped when she saw the colt, she hated with a passion walk over to the depressed filly and Peppermint. The colt's scowl only grew as he got closer and closer to the now scared Feather, who had Peppermint wrapping her arms around her cousin protectively.
This colt was called Twister, he was the school's bully. He was a black pegasus, with a wing disability. He mainly bullied Feather, for her eyes, which was what led her into her depression and cutting. He smirked when he saw Peppermint. ''So your this infamous cousin that I heard so much about. My, my. How in the world did Feather, a worthless pegasus, get a alicorn for a cousin.''
''Damn it, Twister.'' growled Sapphire and Aqua, together. But a smack, was what was heard in the classroom. Aura, for some reason, had gotten out of her chair and slapped the colt. A small filly in a wheel chair, wheeled over to the group of three, who was staring agape at the normally silent filly, having slapped the bully. The small wheel-chair bound filly looked concerned. The filly was a earth pony with a brown coat and blonde main, with bright orange eyes.
''Fuck off, Aura. You a useless brat, who never told us what your disability was. What if you don't have one?'' growled Twister.
The filly stayed silent for a minute but then spoke. ''No, I'm not 'fucking' off, like you put it. And I won't tell my disability as there's no need. I slapped you as for once, stop picking on a already depressed filly, who finally is a bit happier.''
''Wow....'' muttered with wheelchair bound filly, Apple Crisp, to the other 3 foals that she was sat next to. She was very surprised to see Aura of all pony's yell at Twister for tormenting Feather and Peppermint, she hadn't done so prior to this day so she didn't know what had sparked this change.
''Yea, no wonder she was annoyed.'' said Aqua, as her brother and friendly-nemesis nodded in silence, still shocked. Another bell rang, telling class was starting and the fillies and colts took their respective seats, with Peppermint walking to the front to wait for the teacher to walk in. Soon a stallion did and class would begin after her introduction.

Aw man, this chapter has to be as confusing as hell.
Peppermint walked around the corridors, looking for her dormitory. Earlier that day, she had been told that she was to share her dorm with Aura; who had previously had it to herself; but she had forgotten where it was. She looked at each new corridor, but none led her to what she was looking for. She would have 'asked' Aura, but she didn't even know where she had gone. Where were her friends when she needed them?
''It's here!'' came a voice, scaring Peppermint. ''Yes! Here! Yes! Not here! No! No!''
Peppermint shook her head, and thought to herself 'It's just Miracle Screw. '. She decided to continuing searching for the dorm room, only to come across a room, which hadn't been shown to her on the tour that had happened earlier that day. She raised a questioning eyebrow and walked closer to the grey and red door. Her horn wrapped itself in it's mystical purple glow and thus, it opened the door for her.
What she saw however wasn't anything like she had expected. A stallion, her math teacher to be precise, was sat on a chair with blood trailing down his neck; though he was awake and breathing. But the creepiest thing to Peppermint was the fact that there was a filly standing up, wiping her mouth, which was dripping blood. If she could make a sound, then screaming would be the sound that arose from Peppermint for the filly standing there was Aura, and the pegasus filly appeared to have fangs, would-be glistening white fangs if they weren't dyed red with blood.
Peppermint stood their, mouth dropped out like she wanted to stutter something out as she pointed a shaking hoof at Aura, who stood their shell-shocked. She shook her head, and with a gust of magic. A group of words appeared in the air saying 'Y-your...a vampire!?'. Aura couldn't answer, she was too busy trying to process what was happening through her mind.
