An Unexpected Hero

The way he constantly called it a 'package' should have had me worried, but I guess the greedy side of me got the better of my decision.  "Such an easy task for such an large pay.  HA!  Lets do this." I say to my self before i started my long trip to Canterlot.  I didn't dare take the train, just because they probably wouldn't let me on anyway.  As I was on my way, almost out of town, I hear some pony call towards me, a female voice.  I turn around to see a Beautiful white pony with a curly purple mane.

"Hello, my name is Rarity, I just need to ask if you have seen a few pieces of jewelry."  I examined this 'Rarity' with interest, but didn't know what she was talking about.

"Sorry lady, I haven't seen no jewelry." I answered, sort of confused.  This pony didn't seem to know about me.  As Rarity and I were talking, many people started to stare, probably wondering why this pony was talking to a monster like me.

"Oh what a shame, oh well, thanks for your help anyway." she said as she turned to walk away.  I sort of felt bad that i couldn't help the one pony that wanted it,

"Hey lady, if I come across whatever it is you're lookin' for, i'll tell you."  I say to her just before she walks off.

"Oh would you, that would be wonderful, thank you..." she trailed off, making it obvious she didn't know who I was.

"Grey.  Just call me Grey." I say, giving her my name.  She told me what they looked like and yet again, I start my long trek towards Canterlot.

After days of walking and an interesting encounter with a hyperactive pink pony, I finally made it to Canterlot.  "Ok, so the Old Man said it was, 25 miles, I think... I dunno, whatever." I said to myself as I start walking, but I got the feeling I was being watched, but i just ignored it and carried on.  After about an hour or two i reach the old abandond village.  I don't get scared often, but this place game me the chills.

From what I saw, there were two buildings to my left, a saloon and what looks like an apartment. Directly in front of me is a giant clock tower, and to my right was a sheriff station and a couple of old, broken down houses scattered around here and there.  The most important part of this town though, was the old, open hole in the ground in the very center of town.

"Is that the well, this place must be super old."  I mutter to my self as I step forward, taking the bag off my back.  "I wonder what's inside..." I think to myself, before positioning the bag over the hole.  Just as I drop the bag I hear "STOP!" but it was to late.

I dropped the bag and turned around to see six pony's rushing toward me.  I see the hyperactive pink pony I met before and Rarity with them, so they must be friends I think to myself, "What's up?" I say to the group, but they just stare at me like I made a giant mistake.  A light blue Pegasus pony with a rainbow colored hair flew up to me and started yelling in my face.

"Do you have any idea what you just did?  If those are broken you're a dead pony!" she said as she quickly flew to the well.  I was quite confused,

"What did I do?  What was in the bag?!" I start slightly panicking.

I quickly rush over to the well ans looked inside.  It was pitch black, I couldn't see anything down there.  I hear a laugh behind me so I turn around to see the cloaked old man standing on top of a house.

"Old man is that you?" I ask as the other six pony's look at me suspiciously.  The old man laughed again, I started to get a little agitated at him.

"Yo, Old dude, when am I gonna get paid for doin' this... And what was in the Bag?" I ask him with an agitated tone.

"Young boy, you just destroyed the fable Elements of Harmony... and your pay, is DEATH!" the old man said taking of his cloak to reveal Masief, the brother of Princess Celestia, and the King of Evil.  As he says this, 10 dark creatures  appear from the ground and equip themselves with swords.  He starts laughing again before saying "PREPARE TO DIE!!"
