//-------------------------------------------------------// Coming Clean -by TheSakrament666- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Something I Need To Tell You //-------------------------------------------------------// Something I Need To Tell You I had been through torment all of my life. Today, I'm going to set it all straight. Rainbow Dash had come over, we were going to watch the Wonderbolts perform. As we walked along, a gentle breeze tossed our manes about. A smell consisting of roses and honey permeated the air. As we walked along, Rainbow was eyeing me curiously. I think keeping my wings tight was making her paranoid. She knew what happened, all those years ago, and I think she suspected what was happening at the current time too. We walked for a while, and finally found a wide, open space to take off. As we started to take off, I remembered to let Rainbow Dash go first. She eyed me, but readied herself anyway. After she took off, I quickly followed suit, before more suspicion was aroused. As we flew, I had to be careful not to fully open my wings. For a while, all we did was talk about trivial activities. We finally came to the Cloudsdale flight track. After we got our tickets, we found our seats, at the top of the arena wall. Soon, the show started, and cheers could be heard from the crowd around us. The Wonderbolts performed various feats of acrobatics, flipping through the sky in streaks of color. I could see Rainbow's face, and it's expression was one of pure ecstasy. She always did love their performances, and actually got to train with them. The show went on for a while, and their stunts got more vehement towards the end. For the closing act, they actually called Rainbow Dash up there with them, and soared up into the sky. As they came back down, I realized they were going to perform a sonic rainboom. I started to cheer louder than I thought possible for me, and she finally pulled through. Vibrant streaks of color penetrated the sky, and flooded the arena with bright light. As it was evening, we could see it much more than we would have had it been noon. After the show, we had found each other again, and flew over to the nearest tree, to sit down. We sat there for a while, then Rainbow asked what I knew she would. "Hey Fluttershy, anything you want to tell me?" I hadn't really rehearsed what I would say. "Umm, n-not really, no. I'm just fine." "'Shy, you're a bad liar. I know something's up. Please, tell me. I just want to help." I hesitated for a while, then came clean. "Dash, you're right. I've kept my feelings suppressed for an insurmountable span of time. Dashie, I lo... I love you!" I sat there, looking at Rainbow Dash. She looked confused, but that quickly turned to recognition. She motioned for me to continue. "For years, you've been there for me, and stood up for me when nopony else would. You've been my best friend, but I think of you as more than that. You may have gotten impatient with me at times, but you've always waited. If you're alright with this, w-would you... go on a date with me?" I braced myself, waiting for the rejection and laughter. But she pulled my head up, and kissed me on the lips. We lingered like that for what to me seemed like an eternity. When we finally pulled apart, she smiled. "Does that answer your question? Fluttershy, if I'm going to be completely honest, I've had feelings for you too. You've always supported me, as have the rest of the girls. But you've been there the most. And I'll be forever grateful to you." "Fluttershy, I'd never leave you hangin'. You mean to much to me." We kissed again, embracing each other. "But, there's something else I need to tell you. For years, I found solace in physical pain." I raise my wings, and opened my legs. "I have been cutting myself, to make sure I'm sill alive, and that I can still feel. And, um... I kind of... keep pin-ups of you..." "Wait, what? You cut yourself? You never indicated signs... oh Celestia, you saw the pictures? Umm, yeah, uh..." I raised my hoof. "It's alright, you're a very desirable mare. But please, can we just forget about the world, just for now. Just forget the world, and stay here a while." Rainbow Dash nodded, and we sat there, gazing at the bright, twinkling stars. The moon was rising, and I could have sworn I saw a constellation that looked like Rainbow and I, encircling each other in an infinite dance. I smiled, and listened to the sound of her breathing. She caressed my mane, and brushed it gently, making me exulted to be in her presence. I never wanted this night to end, and just to sit there forever. Rainbow thought we should head home, before it got too hard to see, so we did. We were both reluctant to leave that spot, but we know our houses had windows, which offered similar views. When we got back to my residence, Rainbow told me she always liked my taste in colors, too. When we got to my room, we just sat on the bed, staring blissfully out of the window. A captivating rain was starting to fall, creating rhythmic taps on the roof and windowsill. But for some reason, the stars and moon were still visible. We fell asleep like that, wrapped in each others hooves. My dreams were filled with her, smiling and laughing, dancing with me in a vast rotunda. The walls and ceiling were adorned with stars, making the room look like we were in the sky. And we danced, long into the cool, shimmering light. And I knew, from that moment, that all my troubles were going to melt away, and she would be mine, and I hers, forevermore. Author's Note I like writing romance stories. It makes meh feel tingly inside. Anywhoo, hope you all enjoyed.
