As Celestia had approached the library with the cloaked figure, hoping she wasn't too late, she had heard Twilight's cries from what sounded like upstairs, the muffled sounds faint and barely audible from outside the thick trunk of the library's walls. She quickly galloped to the door as she heard the desperation in them, unable to understand the words but expecting the worst. Her horn surging with magic she slammed the door open, nearly taking the door off its hinges with the force of the arcane blow.
Celestia was clearly ready to fight for Twilight's sake and charged upstairs, only to be greeted by another closed door. She slammed through it as well without hesitation, ready for a fight – but not ready for what she saw before her.
The cause of Twilight's groans and cries became apparent as Celestia looked into the room; she saw Big Mac mounted on top of her closest friend and virtual daughter with the purple mare's body arched up to him, pressing closely against him as she met every deep thrust he gave her. The mask on his face clearly showing he was possessed by Denclop, and Celestia knew immediately that her companion was right – Denclop was loose once more.
Celestia saw that Twilight had her teeth clenched and eyes closed in her ecstasy, crying out at each impact of his breeding rod on her clenching walls. He was humping into her hard, as if he was breeding her like a mare in a bad heat – and Celestia safely guessed Twilight probably was one given the musky scent so strong throughout the room, the time of year, and her company.
The solar princess watched on in shock, her hooves virtually glued to the floor as she watched Denclop thrusting harder into Twilight, apparently struggling to finish in her as quickly as possible. He kept pounding her hard until another cry of ecstasy came from Twilight as she apparently climaxed again, her increased trembling and the subsequent stream of her release onto the floor between their rear hooves quickly confirming that fact. Twilight's orgasmic cry finally snapped Celestia out of her shocked state, making her realize that she needed to stop this and protect Twilight from this abomination's efforts!
“Get off her now, Denclop!” Celestia screamed, the walls of the library quaking slightly from the force of her voice. Denclop immediately looked in Celestia's direction, her figurative heart dropping as she recognized the owner that regal voice. Denclop panicked and quickly scrambled off of Twilight, dismounting and pulling Big Mac's fully-flared head out with a loud pop in one movement. Twilight groaned in disappointment as she was denied what she wanted – so close and yet so far, now an eternity away as she watched the next events transpire. An intense sense of longing and emptiness now filled her as she watched her best chance at ending her heat, of gaining a foal, being frightened away.
After landing on all four hooves, Denclop made a dash for the door, knowing her freedom and her Destiny were at risk once again. Celestia cast an incapacitation spell at Denclop, the golden form of her spell quickly approaching the fleeing pony, but Celestia underestimated the creature's abilities. Denclop cast a counter-spell barrier, combining the counter-spell and the shield she had learned earlier from the book in Twilight's saddlebag and making the incapacitation spell bounce off without effect as she continued to run through the foyer, out of the library, and into the still-stormy night.
Celestia gasped in shock at this new evolution of the 'thing's' powers and immediately tried to send other spells to stop her. After every spell she cast bounced fruitlessly off of the shield, Celestia levitated a nearby stool and sent it flying at her in desperation, but to no avail. The stool landed very short of the fleeing figure, splintering against the wet cobblestone street as Denclop and her ‘vessel’ continued to run down the street, only the light–pink glow of her magic spell and the candlelight of the streetlamps accompanying her along the dark and lightly–fogged stretch.
As she realized her prime target was getting away, Celestia took to the air and tried to catch up with her, running a short while before spreading her wings and leaping up with a long-honed grace as she then let her body instinctively guide her into flight. When Celestia had just taken to the air and built some speed, difficult given her wet wings, a light-pink puff of light emanated from the red pony as the mask used the final spell she'd learned from Twilight's book and a think pink smoke obstructed Celestia's view of the ground. When she flew over where they had been, the smoke had cleared and revealed her worst fear. They both were gone.
Cursing, Celestia immediately landed and folded her now-soaked wings to her sides when her hooves touched the glistening cobblestone road, her horn glowing brightly with her signature golden aura. Her horn shone luminously for a moment before fading to a more dim glow, her horn retaining a gentle golden aura as set her magic to work on tracing Denclop's latent magical energy. Celestia knew it could take a long while for her own magic to trace the magic that Denclop used to ‘blink’. Perhaps too long... Celestia thought grimly.
As she stood before the library door a moment later, Celestia breathed deeply as she prepared herself for what she needed to do. She felt a twinge of nervousness and embarrassment as she realized what she needed to tell her fellow Princess, and knew she had a lot of explaining to do before she could even hope for Twilight to help her capture Denclop. Celestia walked inside the library and quickly dried herself off, ready with condolences and explanations on what Denclop was and explanations as to why Denclop had clearly assaulted Twilight as she had. Instead, she was greeted to quite a scene.
As Celestia walked into the room, she saw Twilight still laying in the same position Denclop had left her on the floor and still trembling, her eyes glazed over and hips still gyrating as though she were still with the stallion long departed. Celestia blushed at seeing her student like this and quickly cast a counter-spell to end the mist’s effects on Twilight. As the spell was cast, Twilight's eyes immediately cleared as she stopped gyrating her hips and slowly got up, still trembling from the hormones and pleasure running through her as she slowly shook her head.
A very deep blush crossed Twilight's face when she noticed Celestia was there a moment later...and realized what her closest friend and teacher had likely seen her doing! She quickly curled up as small as possible, hiding herself as best as she could behind her wings with the shame of the situation burning intensely on her face.
Celestia walked over to Twilight and gently placed a hoof on the wing covering her face, softly stroking it as she tried to comfort her only for Twilight to flinch away from the touch, still very sensitive from the actions she was engaged in moments ago and her estrus. Celestia stopped stroking as she took the hint and then started to speak softly, trying not to aggravate Twilight’s delicate position; “Now-now my dear Twilight, there was nothing you could do to prevent this. You were inexperienced with what was essentially your first heat and didn’t know what to expect..."
Celestia started to tear up as she realized the importance of what she'd been keeping from the poor mare. She'd been treating her like a little filly until only a short while ago, preventing her from learning what it would be like alone during her heat in full force. She knew long ago she should have told Twilight all about breeding and estrus, that she should have told her the importance of keeping herself safe and under control during these rough times. She had never been able to bring herself to do it though, instead convincing herself Twilight still wasn't quite ready or wasn't quite old enough yet, even after she was no longer a filly and well into marehood.
Celestia took a deep breath as she wiped her tears, looking at what she believed to be a rape victim when in fact the opposite was true, the fact being that Twilight was a willing broodmare. When she had composed herself again, Celestia started to speak. "This is all my fault for overly-sheltering you in the past, for preventing you from learning the essential knowledge of sex and having foals before I let you stay in Ponyville alone during Springtime. I'm sorry Twilight, but I hope you know I only kept you in the dark with the best intentions."
Celestia sniffed in as tears started to form again in her eyes, then cleared her throat of the fullness that was suddenly present in it. When she could, she continued. "It is also my fault for not teaching you of Denclop, but I think you can understand why I keep the number of ponies in the know about 'It' to a minimum. However now that you have...encountered...'It', it's only fair that I tell you what Denclop is and where Denclop comes from. But first…"
Celestia signaled to the cloaked figure, who quickly pulled out a corked bottle containing a brown–green liquid from a pocket in the cloak.
"...I'm sure you can use something to help out with your heat." Celestia finished as she accepted the bottle from the cloaked figure with her magic, then tapped Twilight’s wing with it to try to get her attention. Twilight's wing fluttered at the touch, Celestia speaking again as she finally roused another response from the purple alicorn. "Zecora came and got me as soon as she could escape the spell cast upon her, but before she did come to get to me she quickly bottled this. She figured somepony may need it, given what we're dealing with." The cloaked figure then removed its hood, the grey-and-white mohawk and striped face Identifying the zebra as she revealed herself upon hearing her name spoken.
Twilight didn't respond to the prodding of the bottle on her wing past the initial fluttering, the blush under her wings burning almost hotter than her unsatisfied loins. She was mortified; her mentor had seen her being ravished by a stallion for pony's sake, how was she supposed to react?!
Upon another tap on her wing from the bottle Twilight finally moved her wings slightly, allowing cracks between her feathers to form for her to look out from. When she saw the corked potion bottle levitated in Celestia’s magic being held out to her, Twilight recognized the bottle and what the green–brown liquid it contained was. She transferred the bottle from her mentor’s magic into her own and brought it under her wings as she uncorked the bottle, the scent of the potion quickly confirming to her that it was, discovering the same brew Celestia had given her every year during her heats when she spent Spring with her; the same one that had made the itch and burn go away.
Twilight placed the bottle to her mouth than tilted it back, letting the slightly sweet and bitter brew enter her mouth. After a moment, she felt as the tremors passing through her body stop as the potion calmed her raging hormones, sighing softly in relief as she felt the burning between her legs and in her belly end and the insistent nagging in her mind to find a stallion to fill her start to subside. After a couple of minutes the potion had completely ended her heat's effects, finally leaving Twilight able to think of other things then being bred.
Twilight was still deeply embarrassed by the situation, but the words Celestia had spoken earlier eased it, with the fact that she hadn't known the lure of a stallion during her heat would be so strong letting her negate some of the blame from herself. Knowing she was accomplishing nothing by just sitting there, Twilight finally summoned enough courage to move her wings. After she did and saw Celestia, Twilight immediately ran to and embraced her, seeking comfort and understanding from her as always.
After Twilight had given her a hug, Celestia wondered if now was a good time to talk about Denclop so soon after Twilight’s encounter with 'it', as Denclop surely must have forced this upon her, forcing her to breed in its vile crusade. She decided that Twilight needed to know about Denclop however, so that way she could help in the apprehension of "it", as well as because because she was also a Princess. She should have known of important threats such Denclop in the first place, after all! Celestia felt a pang of regret again, vowing to herself to not keep Twilight in the dark about potential risks to Equestria or its denizens anymore, as well as to not to keep any other important information from her either. Celestia took a deep breath, knowing much needed to be said to get Twilight up to speed.
Before Celestia could even start to tell of how Denclop came to be however, Twilight spoke. “ So how did you know Denclop was after me?” she asked, looking up to Celestia as she awaited an answer.
Celestia looked over to Zecora, then started to explain what was asked; “The moment Zecora awoke after her own 'encounter' with Denclop, she knew she needed to make it to me and alert me Denclop was activated. After quickly grabbing the heat potion you drank, Zecora left her shack and saw you in the Everfree Forest with Big Macintosh. Knowing he was possessed by Denclop, she followed you as you both headed towards Ponyville. She knew she couldn't fight against such a powerful foe alone, especially not in her condition, so instead of approaching you and Denclop and putting herself at risk, she hesitantly continued on her path to reach me without warning you. All she could do was hope we could make it to you in time, and, fortunately, we did.”
Twilight nodded and smiled at Zecora, understanding and letting her know that she had made the right choice., though Twilight felt a tinge of doubt at that thought. Had those thoughts and desires actually been Denclop's influence upon her, or had she REALLY wanted a foal? As she remembered back to all the memories of playing with Smartypants and pretending she was her foal, then the strong desires she had felt when she had first read about 'making foals' in the textbook, she thought she had a pretty firm grasp on the truth.
Zecora smiled back figuring she'd helped Twilight, but not knowing that Twilight had in fact wanted to be bred; wanted to be with foal.
"But how did Zecora—" Twilight started to ask, but Celestia held a hoof up and silenced her.
“Please Twilight, I know you have many questions, but if you just let me tell you about Denclop’s origins I’m sure they will all be answered. If I finish and you have additional questions after, you may ask then.” Celestia said as she smiled softly at the purple alicorn. “Ok, Twilight?”
Twilight nodded and Celestia took a deep breath and to start to tell the history of Denclop again, looking to Twilight before starting to recount.
“Many years ago, Luna, and Starswirl the Bearded and myself went to the land where the zebras come from past the Everfree Forest. We had been asked there to help a tribal herd that was growing smaller and smaller by the year, with them having deaths, but never any births. They were unable to have foals no matter what they tried, but nopony knew why.
One day, Starswirl the Bearded came up with what, at the time, all three of us thought was a great idea. You see, the zebras are somewhat of a superstitious sort. They believe everything, even their children and potions, are gifts from their gods. As such, Starswirl enchanted one of their ritual masks so the tribe would feel comfortable with him helping them with their epidemic of infertility, with zebras initially being somewhat uneasy of others outside their tribe."
Celestia took a breath before she continued, shifting slightly.
“Starswirl had enchanted a mask of the tribe’s, a mask of the goddess they called Denclop, in a way that could help the ponies breed. The spell was programmed to believe it to be its ‘divine duty’ and ‘destiny’ to control a vessel and breed with mares, to give them the 'gift' of being bred and bearing foals. You see, Starswirl had actually given a spell sentience, the ability to think and discern, to make up its own mind. To have a self–determined and self–fulfilled purpose. I have since banned these spells from ever being used or taught again, for reasons that should be obvious."
"Starswirl based the spell’s personality upon a zebra mythological figure which the mask was formed in honor of; Denclop, Goddess of Fertility and Love. According to the Zebra myth, Denclop was a loving goddess and was able to create life within mares and make ponies fall in love. However, Denclop also had a darker side. She was somewhat vain, viewing herself and her Duty as all–important and mares as a simple means to complete it. Whenever she deemed it necessary to 'show her place' to the ponies, she was able to 'possess a vessel to do her will', with 'her will' generally involving a lot of pregnant mares in its wake. Starswirl had left this personality trait in so the tribe leader would believe that Starswirl had received the mask from the goddess herself, as he had told them he had. What a foal he was.”
Celestia paused a moment to sit down and get comfortable. Twilight left her side and went to sit with Zecora on the floor, wanting to look upon Celestia as she told the story. Celestia then filled and levitated a glass of water from the kitchen to herself and took a drink before returning to the story.
“Starswirl made the enchantment upon the mask activate whenever a virile stallion touched the mask during breeding season and there was a potentially fertile mare nearby. When the mask was activated, it would be put on by, or would paralyze then forcibly magically tether itself to, the one who touched it. It would then proceed to breed with as many fertile females as were available, the mask releasing a spell Starswirl had programmed for it to use, dependent on the gender, on any ponies that the mask felt were inadequately prepared to breed..."
"If Denclop's target was a stallion, which automatically included its ‘vessel’, the mask would release a spell that would amplify the male’s sexual fluid and reproductive cell productions, as well as his sexual libido, extensively. This would make him far more virile and able to breed constantly and more effectively, as well as ramping his rutting instincts to maximum and making him compelled to breed any nearby mares 'in season'."
"If Denclop's target was a mare, the spell Denclop cast would make her go into full estrus and immediately ovulate. The spell would also strengthen her breeding instincts if she was already in heat, compelling her to be bred by the ‘vessel’ or any other virile stallions nearby. The mask would cause all fertile females within its senses to be bred, whether by its own vessel or by other stallions influenced by its spell, before the mask shut itself down, with its ‘duty fulfilled’."
Celestia sighed and rubbed her head with a hoof before proceeding, her voice taking on a more frustrated tone.
“The mask was never supposed to leave the tribe...it was supposed to be only used that one time to help that tribe live on. However Starswirl, that stupid foal, brought the mask back to Canterlot with him as some sort of memento or something. The next breeding season, a stallion royal guard tasked with guarding the mask picked it up with his bare hooves and…”
Tears came to Celestia’s eyes and she nearly broke down crying as she remembered what had happened, the memories still crystal clear to this day. She took a moment to compose herself again, steeling herself for the next part.
“…and the stallion proceeded to rape one of our mare royal assistants...and then attempted to rape my sister, Princess Luna, and the other stallions in the room tried to rape any mares they could mount, the mares forced by the spell to allow the stallions to breed them. Unbeknownst to us, Starswirl had 'taught' the mask to incapacitate unwilling, or sometimes even willing, participants with an incapacitation spell. The spell could even target to specific muscles, allowing only certain parts of its victims to move. He explained that he had added this 'so ALL fertile mares in the tribe would be with foal, even if they didn't want to be', with Starswirl apparently thinking that the tribe needed as many new foals as possible in order to recover from its near-extinction."
"Starswirl also 'taught' the mask a silencing spell, a spell that disabled all spells trying to be cast by the victim, essentially making even powerful unicorns helpless against it, as well as disabling the latant magic of Earth Ponies, Zebras and Pegusi – sapping Earth Ponies' strength, Zebras' own unique latant magics, and Pegusi's flight magic. It basically made any mare into the vessel’s…seed receptacle, unable to stop the vessel from breeding them, but still able to sense and feel everything. Starswirl made a horrible abomination."
Celestia adjusted herself on the floor, an uncomfortable and unwelcome warmth having found a place between her back legs, with the cause either Twilight's heated scent still lingering and the scent of sex still present, or the fact she was describing aloud the antics of a sex–obsessed sentient spell. Perhaps both. Either way, she had developed a small wet-spot underneath her and shifted to get out of it, accidentally rubbing her slightly swollen slit on the floor and getting an unexpected burst of pleasure. A quiet surprised gasp escaped Celestia's lips as she felt the first sexual pleasure she'd felt in many years, then quickly cleared her throat after seeing Twilight's and Zecora's reaction. With a heavy blush on her face, Celestia quickly continued the story.
"After breeding the mares, the mask would place a spell upon their womb and cervix, with it magically sealing their womb and preventing any physical or magical influence upon either. This was presumably to protect the foal in general, but unintentionally prevented anypony from trying to hurt or remove the foal before it was ready to be born. This spell was effective until the mare's labor started, after which it would dissipate.” Celestia shook her head at the stupidity of her royal magician, unbelieving of how foalish he could be to force ponies to bear foals they did not want.
"But Starswirl was not a total foal, you see. Starswirl knew the mask could possibly get out of control when he created it, so he made it so the mask could only bind to one ‘vessel’ and could be shut down with a single phrase. After deactivation, the Denclop mask was only able to be reactivated again once touched by another virile stallion during a breeding season and with a fertile mare nearby."
"But what about Luna? What happened then?" Twilight asked, completely enthralled now.
"I got sidetracked, sorry...anyways, back to my previous story. After the guard 'had his way' with the royal assistant but before he had 'finished' with Luna, and thankfully before any of the other stallions 'finished' with the other fertile mares, Starswirl had been summoned and screamed the kill command. This caused the guards to be released from the mask’s influence and the mask to be deactivated."
"After the guard apologized profusely for disobeying our direct orders to not touch the mask, we sent him back to his job with a harsh reprimand, but soon decided further action needed to be taken with him and he was forced to be responsible for the foal he'd sired. The other stallions were forced to apologize, and be responsible for any foals they'd sired, but fortunately none ejaculated and thus no foals were conceived."
"Well, thank Faust for that," Twilight said, getting a nod from Celestia. "So what happened to the mask after that?"
"After this event, I commanded Starswirl to remove the enchantment from the mask and destroy it, only for Starswirl returned later to tell us that the mask had sealed itself in an anti–magic shield, making it impossible to destroy or totally disenchant. He told us he had not programmed it with the spell initially, that it must have learned it from a spell book or possibly its host's memories during its possession of the unicorn royal guard. That event made us aware of the dangerous growth potential of the mask's powers, and made us more determined to never let it be free again, lest it learn too much and be virtually unstoppable."
"Starswirl didn't totally disenchant it, but did partially?" Twilight asked, the astute mare picking up that little detail.
"Ah, yes, good catch Twilight," Celestia praised, Twilight beaming in response, "Yes, Starswirl reported that all he had managed to disable through the spell was the mask's ability to influence the reproductive behavior of stallions other then its 'vessel'. This was definitely a good thing, as without that downsizing of her powers of all reproduction, Denclop could have caused every fertile mare in Equestria to be with foal by a random stallion by now! Starswirl also said he removed another feature of the mask, but what it was eludes me after so many years. All I can remember is that it had something to do with the mares it chose to breed with."
"Well, I guess that's a small victory," Twi said, Celestia nodding.
"Knowing how dangerous the mask was while it remained in Equestria, Luna and I decided to send the mask back to the Zebras’ homeland along with the warning of what it was capable of, considering it safer there with those who experienced its power then among those who were unknowing of it."
Celestia looked to Twilight as she thought of something, speaking with some amount of pride in her voice. “ One more thing though. Do you know that zebra tribe we used the mask to help and sent it to once again? They’re still thriving to this day and are one of the biggest tribes in the land. I guess that mask is good for something.” Celestia smiled, and then proceeded with her recounting with the serious tone of before.
"Well, that's good to hear," Twilight said, smiling.
“Indeed. We took the mask from Starswirl and gave it to a trusted zebra mare of that tribe who had come with us to Canterlot, knowing it only activated with the touch of a stallion. She swore to protect it and to not let it get into anypony’s hooves, promising to guard it with her life. This zebra mare, who was an ancestor of our Zecora, then took it back to her homeland with her. Upon her passing, she passed the mask down to her daughter and with it the warning to keep it safe from the touch of a stallion. The mask was passed down many generations in Zecora’s family, hidden and protected by a chosen mare descendant from ever being touched by a stallion during pony breeding seasons…but now here we are. Denclop is free once more.”
After Celestia finished recounting Denclop's history, Zecora looked down and shrunk away, ashamed that she had let the mask slip away from her protection. At the mention of her family's duty to guard the mask, she felt that she had shunned her family’s royally appointed task and betrayed her mother's choice of entrusting her with guarding the mask by letting the mask possess Big Macintosh.
Looking at Twilight's agape jaw, Celestia decided to give her time to take in the information she had just told her. After all, it was quite a bit to just have dumped on her all of a sudden.
Zecora suddenly looked down to her belly, then back up to Princess Celestia as she thought of the question that had been bothering her since earlier that night. “Princess Celestia, for the answer to me is mysterious; I have a question for you only because I am curious. Please do tell; is there any way to undo that...womb spell?”
Celestia responded with a shake of her head, causing the zebra to shrink back again. “No known spells that we tried on that poor mare the guard...bred with...worked. She did however end up giving birth to a healthy filly a little over eleven months later, then later told us that she regretted asking us to try to get rid of her foal. She said that 'she didn't know what she would do without her daughter now' when I asked her.” Celestia finished, giving Zecora a wink and smile. Zecora simply smiled back and looked down as she rubbed her belly, knowing what was likely already growing inside.
"But Princess Celestia," Twilight asked a few minutes later, finally processing the information dump she had earlier received; "Why didn't you just speak that kill command word thingy that Starswirl used to shut her down and stop her before she could get away from you just now?"
"Because my dear Twilight," Celestia said softly, "the scroll the code word was on was locked away in a chest within the Starswirl the Bearded Wing of my castle. The code word was known by and only ever used once by Starswirl, but try as I may I simply can't remember it...although that's almost to be expected after only hearing it once over two thousand years ago. I also never saw a need to unlock his box it was contained in, nor learn the code word because the Denclop mask was so well secured by Zecora's family. I can now see that was a grave mistake."
After hearing of the kill code still existing Twilight perked up a little, feeling an edge of determination well up in her. "Well, we need to go to your castle and learn it immediately then!" Twilight nearly shouted as she galloped to the door, starting to unfurled her wings and prepare to take off.
Celestia called out her name, stopping Twilight. "Twilight! I've already thought of that." Celestia said calmly, "I said the chest was there, but it isn't anymore. It was lost back when Discord returned to and almost took Equestria over again before you and your friends defeated him, him teleporting many of my possessions to seemingly random places. I still haven't found most of them to this day! If the chest still exists, it's likely lost and unlikely to be found easily. This is Discord we're talking about after all..."
Twilight's head lowered to the ground, "Then how will we stop Denclop if we don't have the kill command?"
Celestia nodded as an idea come to mind, her horn starting to glow brighter as she channeled a spell into it.
"We ask the one who lost it."
