Dear Princess Celestia,
It's been such a long time I didn't write anything to you. It feels good to take a pen and write what I think to you. I know I can count on you to express myself. Princess, you're like a secret diary. I know your lips are sealed and the secrets I told you were always kept secret. That's why I decided to take a letter and write about my experiences.
Do you remember that day, when I passed the test? I hatched the phoenix egg. I hatched Philomena's egg. Then you took me as a student. I became the Student of the Sun. It made me proud, and I was sure my mother, up there in heaven, could be proud of me too. The next day, you made me pass tests of levitation, teleportation... and you told me to grow that flower. It was sun-shaped, it was warm, and it had hot colors.
I cast a spell on it and it grew huge. I didn't know what it meant, but you shrinked it back to a normal size and went in some secret room. And I decided to give it a shot. I opened the door, Princess. Your magic was needed to open it, but I succeeded. And I kept it secret. I decided to study about it. I also met one of the young trained guards, we fell madly in love. I had time for him, and time for discovering who I really was.
Please, please please please understand me, Princess! When I discovered what the test meant, I was really mad you kept it a secret. You told me magic was fun, but also a serious matter. I took it lightly at that time, but if you just told me, I would boost my efforts. You should have told me right away I was meant to be the future Raiser of the Sun. I felt bad for yelling at you. I felt mad when you yelled at me. I felt sad when Flash Sentry yelled too.
He thought I was overreacting, and that I shouldn't fight for my throne. Princess Celestia... it was my destiny to become the Sun Raiser. But then Flash Sentry broke up with me, thinking my plans were evil. And then it was enough. I couldn't take it anymore. I had read about that mirror, the portal to the 'human' world. I went in there, to go far away from the problems I had. Even Philomena stayed there. Everypony gave up on me.
I cried so much when I arrived there. I was in some sort of school. I was sitting under a tree, depressed. I heard some whimpers from the other side of the tree too. I turned around and saw a girl who looked as sad as me. She looked up. It was Applejack. We chatted for a bit. She became my best friend. She was rejected because of her accent, of the place where she came from, her clothes... a countryside girl.
I always defended her, and became a rejected myself. But I didn't care. I had a friend. It was the first time somebody didn't reject me because of my intelligence and egghead-ness. Then I met... the human Flash Sentry. The only one, apart from Applejack, who wasn't mean to me. My heart beat so fast when I saw him for the first time. And once, I just kissed him. Like that, without thinking.
I couldn't just tell Applejack he was the human version of a pony in my homeland... So I told her it was to gain some popularity. And we did gain popularity. As I spent more time with Flash, I started loving him more and more. Applejack befriended the group of 5 friends who takes care of fights with friendship lessons. When Flash wasn't there, Applejack came back. But soon, I didn't have much time with her.
Then once day, Applejack and the group of 5 came to Flash Sentry and me. They yelled, "We know the truth, Sunset! You're using Flash Sentry to become more popular. You could start by making real friends to be more loved by everyone else." Applejack told them everything. She said: "Sorry Sunset. I had to be honest. What you were doin' was monstrous..." And Flash went mad and left me.
And it was all because of Applejack and those girls. They tore Flash and me apart, I'll do the same. Since the day I came there I learned more about informatics and got access to their phones to tear them apart. The "friendship savers" were no more. And soon, nobody accepted the other's differences. There were clans. I felt really powerful... And Fall Formal was coming. I helped everyone and almost got 2nd place, but I still won.
Years passed, and I won the crown again and again... everybody feared me. Ha, they wouldn't like me? This is what they get. Then you sent Twilight Sparkle here. The 5 friends broke the link between Flash and me, that putrid mare/girl had to catch him right away. I really hate her. You know the story, she told you everything, I assume. But I was lying when I was saying "I didn't know there was another way..."
I knew what friendship was. The friendship I lived was nothing but ruin my life. It's friendship that ruined my life. It messed up everything! Now those 5 girls want to befriend me. I accepted, of course... I told all of them what I thought, and we became closer than ever. They even proposed they'd help me go out with Flash again, since they caused all this... All things considered, those girls are really nice.
I'm not coming back to you, Princess. I'm staying here. Good luck on finding a new Sun Raiser when you'll be weak. I'm sure there's some unicorn out there who will be able to grow that plant. I enjoyed all those years with you.
