The Pendent of the Proto-Drake
The Pendant.
It was a calm day in Ponyville for once, after the incident from the headless horseman the town had rebuilt itself and gone on with its daily life of ponies traveling through whether it be shopping, or on a journey, a pony in a black cloak stood behind a counter I. The market place with a single item on its rack, an pendent shaped like a dragon.
Skylight was taking a stroll, minding his own business when he saw said pendent on the rack, so he decided to make a detour of his normal walkway to check out this pendent. "Hmmm, what an odd pendent, I've never seen this kind before, what is this exactly?" Skylight asked the cloaked pony, who looked up from his book.
"This pendent has been enchanted with a powerful energy, giving the wearer what seems like supernatural powers, also allowing them to change shape into a dragon." The cloaked pony said, "This is a rare type of dragon known as a Proto-Drake, not seen around here." The cloaked pony lifted the pendent up for Skylight to see.
It was true, the pendent had a peculiar look to it, resembling an unknown dragon. This only made Skylights hunger for the artifact grow with a spike. "How much for the pendent?" Skylight asked.
"Normally I would charge 500 bits," the cloaked pony said, "But for you I'll lower the price to 250 bits, halving the price of it normally!" He said with excitement, hoping to sell the artifact.
Skylight smiled with joy as he produced 250 bits to the pony who in turn handed him the pendent. Skylight walked off again towards the park, eager to test out the pendents powers for himself to see if they were true. Skylight carefully put the pendent over his neck and instantly felt a surge of power flow through his veins, enlightening his sences and allowing transformation. Skylight allowed the transformation to happen as he took the form of a Proto-Drake, which in turn let a roar out into the sky, rippling the peace and quiet of the afternoon.
1:35 PM, Twilight Sparkles castle.
Twilight was down in her library wing as normal, writing on all the adventures her and the rest of the elements had together, a large project which was currently on day 3 of writing, when Twilight's eardrums were shattered from a blasting roar that echoed throughout the sky, much like an adult dragons.
Twilight's ears fell from both pain and anger, "First, the Headless Horseman, and now a dragon!?" She yelled, getting out of the chair and going towards the door, if this was a real dragon she would need the elements help in either defeating it or befriending it. "SPIKE!" Twilight yelled to her number 1 assistant, "I need you to find the element bearers and tell them to meet me at Fluttershy's place!"
"Will do Twi!" Came Spike's short responds as he darted through the door and off to his mission of finding the element bearers.
Twilight made haste to Fluttershy's, not even stopping to say "hi" to the ponies that greeted her. She skid to a halt in front of her door and was about to knock until her ears picked up a conversation between Fluttershy and another pony in there.
"So, this pendant can make you into a 'Proto-Drake'?" Fluttershy's low voice asked whoever was in there with her.
"Yep! Somepony in a cloak sold it to me, fairly expensive but worth it!" Came the response, which to Twilight sounded a lot more like a stallion. "I was about to go see Twilight about it actually, but I can hear she's already here." Came the stallions voice again.
"Oh, okay.." Fluttershy said as she went over to the door and opened it, "You can come in Twilight, I mean... If you want to..." Fluttershy said to Twilight, who slipped past her and went inside to see Skylight chilling on the couch.
"Sup Twi? I was about to come see you about this thing actually." Skylight said, gesturing to the pendant on his neck.
"Sky! That's ancient magic your tampering with! Do you know how dangerous that is!?" Twilight yelled in a panic.
"Course I do, I heard it hails from the same world as the Headless Horseman!" Skylight said excitedly, his eyes lighting up.
Twilight went right over to Skylight, "Sky, could you please give me the pendant, it is extremely dangerous and I don't want you or the town to get hurt by the former you take on." Twilight asked nicely.
"Will I get it back eventually?" Skylight asked with wide eyes.
Twilight sighed, "Yes you will get it back eventually." She stated.
Skylight looked at the pendant and took it off, carefully handing it over to Twilight, who took it and put it in a magic container, teleporting it to her castle vault. "Thank you Skylight."
"Ok... I'll be on my way then." Skylight said simpily, heading out the door and flying off to his house.
"I'm sorry about this Fluttershy." Twilight said, also heading to the door.
"Oh it wasn't a problem at all Twilight, do come back over again soon!" Fluttershy said in her usual low voice.
Twilight smiled, "Of course I will Flutters" She replied then head back to her castle to study the relic that Skylight wielded.
Fluttershy smiled as she watched her friedpnds head off their own ways, inking to herself that she was blessed to have friends who cared about her and respected her timid nature, "Now I can feed you Angel bunny." Fluttershy said, getting Angel his favorite meal. "Now I should feed the rest of my animal friends.." Fluttershy said to herself, getting the food for the others and flying outside to feed them.
