A Rose Blooms in Equestria
In Canterlot High, there are many unique characters. But out of all of them, Im the most unique. The name is Rose Quartz. I have light pink skin with brown and pink hair. I always wears a purple sweater with a magenta skirt with a pink gem on it. Im a very timid girl, and I barely talk to anybody. I likes music, and I love to sing, but I have stage fright. I also love all things sparkly. One day, I walked into the school and saw something on the bulletin board. I took a closer look and saw a painting of a mountain with a meadow around it.
"Wow, this is so good", I thought, "I wonder who made this"
Suddenly, a couple of girls walked passed me.
"Hey, do you know who made that painting?", asked one of the girls to her friend
"Yeah, I think she's in the art room right now", replied her friend
I walked through the school corridor, until I reached the art room. Inside was a girl working on her painting. She had tan skin with brown hair. She had on a teal shirt with an orange skirt with a paint brush and pencil in the shape of a heart. She also had a light blue beret on. I hid behind the door as I watched her. I didn't want to disturb her.
"So that's the artist", I thought.
"Hello", greeted the girl.
I stammered for a bit and ran away. I guess I really am that shy.
"That was so embarassing", I thought while running "I wish I can just talk to people without running away"
As I was running, I bumped into somebody and fell down, making the other person drop her books. She had light pink skin with light blue hair. She wore a blue t-shirt with a red skirt with a stick of cotton candy on it.
"Im so sorry", I apoligized while picking up some of the books, "Here, let me help"
"Oh no, it's fine", assured the girl picking up her books.
I picked up the last of the books and handed them to the girl.
"Thanks", said the girl.
"Your welcome", I replied before walking away.
While walking, I heard some laughter. I turned to the corner and saw a couple of kids making fun of a girl. She had light pink skin with purple hair wearing a purple shirt with a magenta skirt.
"Oh look girls, she's crying", teased one of the bullies.
I ran over to the scene and stood in front of the girl.
"Leave her alone", I said.
"Oh yeah", said one of the bullies, "And what are you gonna do we don't"
I was pushed to the ground. Suddenly, a tall figure stood behind them.
"And what are you students doing?", asked the figure
She had light blue skin with blue hair. She had on a purple shirt with purple jeans.
"Vice principal Luna", I whispered.
"Im waiting for an answer", said Luna.
"Um…we were just…tutoring them?", lied one of the bullies
"You three, my office NOW", ordered Luna
"Yes, ma'am", replied the bullies walking into her office
"I don't think you two will worry about them anymore", said Luna before walking into her office
I stood up and helped the girl up.
"Are you ok?", asked Rose.
"I am now", replied the girl standing up.
"Why were they making fun of you?"
"Well, it's I…I"
The girl removed her arm which turned out to be prostetic.
"I was born with only one arm", explained the girl putting her arm back on, "Everybody thinks Im a weird freak so they make fun of me because of that"
"I don't think you're weird", I explained, "You're just…unique"
"Unique?"
"Yeah, infact, that can be your nickname"
"Thanks, um…"
"Rose. Rose Quartz"
"Your named after a gem"
"I know, my mom thought it would be funny"
Unique laughed at my joke.
"I gotta get to class", I said.
"Thanks again", said Unique hugging her.
I hugged back and walked away. After class, I had lunch. I was sitting alone, while eating a salad. Suddenly, a guy with light grey skin and brown hair. He was wearing a white hoodie with a red shirt underneath with jeans. He's my best friend Silver Strings, who I also have a bit of a crush on.
"Hey Rose", greeted Silver.
"Oh hey Silver", I replied blushing, "What's up?"
"Oh I just had band rehersal, so now Im here. Mind if I sit here?"
"Not at all"
Silver sat next to me, as my blushing increased.
"What's up with that girl over there?", I asked.
I pointed to a girl a little bit younger than me. She had white skin with brown hair with purple and blue highlights. She was wearing a grey hoodie with jeans and a grey hat.
"I don't know", replied Silver, "I heard that she's kind of a loan wolf"
"Well Im gonna go sit with her", I said getting up.
"I'll go too"
Silver and I walked over to the table where the girl is.
"Hey, we saw that you were kind of lonely. Mind if we sit here?", I asked.
"Go ahead", replied the girl, "Im Ivory Ink, by the way"
"Nice to meet you, Ivory", I replied, "Im Rose Quartz, and this is my friend Silver Strings"
"I know Silver", said Ivory, "He's the lead guitar in the band, Indirect Kiss. I love your new song, "Girl with the Rosy Pink Cheeks"
"Thanks. I kinda had inspiration with that one", explained Silver looking at a blushing me.
After school, I went to my locker, and saw Silver.
"Hey Silver", I greeted, "What's up?"
"Im just getting ready for our concert tonight", replied Silver, "Your going, right?"
"Of course. I never miss any of your concerts"
"That's why your my number one fan"
I blushed at his words.
"I gotta go, I'll seeya there", said Silver before walking away.
I walked away blushing, and ran out of the school. Suddenly, I tripped on a rock, thus making me drop my books. Suddenly, my apple from lunch rolled away from me and landed on the edge of the school's statue. Then the weirdest thing happened, it went through the statue and disappeared.
"Huh?", I asked curiously
I put my hand theough the statue and retracted it. I then crawled through the statue and fell through. I started to feel dizzy, so I passed out. Then, everything went black.

I woke up and found myself in a dark room. I turned around and saw a mirror.
"Where am I?", I asked.
I tried to stand up, but for some reason I couldn't. I looked at my hand. I was shocked to find that I had no fingers…just a hot pink nub. I looked into the mirror and saw what happened to me. Im a-a…pony? I had a hot pink coat with a brown and pink mane, and I had a nub on my head. I guess Im a unicorn. I also noticed something weird, I had a tattoo on my flank. It was a pink jewel surrounded by white sparkles. I was so shocked that I screamed.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE IM A PONY!"
I looked into the mirror again, and saw my pony form.
"BUT IM SOOOOOO CUTE"
Another thing about me, I can't resist anything cute. Suddenly, a bright light surrounded me. It was coming from a couple of sparkling unicorn stallions wearing silver armor.
"YOU THERE", yelled one of the guards, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TRESPASSING IN THE CASTLE?!"
"Trespassing?", I asked.
But before I knew it, I was lifted off the ground. I guess unicorns can use magic.
"PUT ME DOWN", I yelled while struggling.
They carried me until I was in a giant room surrounded by crystals. IT WAS SOO SPARKLY! Suddenly, another pony walked in. She was a pink pegacorn? or unicus? Well she was a unicorn and pegasus. Anyway, she was pink with a purple and yellow mane. She also had one of those flank tattoos. It was a crystal heart. Why does hers have to be better than mine?
"Do you know why your here?", asked the pink pony.
"No", I replied , "Where am I?"
"Show some respect", ordered one of the guards, "She's the princess"
"Your a p-princess?"
The pink pony nodded her head.
"I am Princess Mi Amoré Cadenza", introduced the princess
Oh no! I JUST DISRESPECTED ROYALTY! I quickly bowed before her.
"I-Im so sorry, Princess Mi Amoré Caden-", I stammered
"You can just call me Princess Cadence", assured the princess, "Now, why were you trespassing my castle?"
"I didn't mean to. In fact, Im not even from here"
"Your not from Equestria?"
"Equestria? No, Im from Earth"
"This is Earth, sweetie"
"Huh? But Im not from a world full of colorful talking ponies. Im from the human world"
"Human world?"
"Yeah, I was just walking around, then I tripped and fell into our school statue which brought me here. Then I woke up and now Im here"
"You went through the crystal mirror?"
"I…ugh I think. Im not in trouble am I?"
"No. What just happened was an accident, but we should probably go check on the mirror. Oh wait, I never got your name"
"Oh, i-it's Rose. Rose Quartz"
"Such a lovely name"
Oh my God, a princess just said my name is lovely. So, we walked back to where the mirror is. I tried to wall through, but it wouldn't let me. Instead of magic, it had glass.
"I can't get through", I said.
"Huh?", said Princess Cadence.
She put her hoof against the glass, and nothing happened.
"We should probably get some help", said Cadence
Cadence sent a letter to somepony…wait, did I just say somepony? Ok off topic. So, she sent a letter to somepony.
"They'll be here in about an hour", said Cadence, "How about we have some tea?"
"Tea would be nice", I replied, "And is it ok if I ask you a couple of questions?"
"I don't mind"
Cadence ordered one of her servants to make us some tea. A few minutes later, he returned and we sat down.
"So what did you wanna ask?", asked Cadence sipping her tea.
"Well…um why are some of the ponies sparkly?", I asked.
"Well right now were in The Crystal Empire. Where everything, even the ponies are sparkly"
"But how come your not sparkly?"
"It's because I wasn't born in the Empire. I was born in Canterlot"
"Canterlot?"
"It's the capital of Equestria"
"Oh, but what are these flank tattoos?"
"Flank tattoos? Oh you mean cutie marks?"
"Cutie marks?"
"Yes, they're marks that describe your talent. My cutie represents my love powers. I wasn't born with it. I had to discover it myself"
"Oh, what does mine mean?"
"Im not sure. I guess you'll have to figure it out yourself"
I tried grabbing my teacup, but due to the fact that I don't have any fingers, it dropped and spilled on the floor.
"Oh no, I'm so sorry, your majesty", I apologized, "It's hard for me to pick up things without hands"
"It's fine, just use magic", assured Cadence.
"Magic?"
"Yeah, unicorns and alicorns can perform magic like basic levitation spells."
"What's an alicorn?"
"An alicorn is a pony with wings and a horn, like me. Alicorns are also a bit more powerful than unicorns"
"Oh"
Suddenly, two alicorn mares walked in. One was white with a flowing aurora colored mane with a sun as her cutie mark. The other one was smaller than the white one. She dark blue with a blue starry mane with a moon as her cutie mark. I stared mesmorized at their sparkly manes.
"Cadence, we came here as soon as we got your letter", said the white alicorn.
"What seems to be the problem?", asked the blue one.
"This is Rose Quartz", introduced Cadence, "She's from the human world. She accidently landed here from the crystal mirror, but it won't let her go back."
"Strange", said the white alicorn.
"Um, is she alright?", asked the blue alicorn, "She has more stars in her eyes than in my mane"
"Rose, are you alright?", asked Cadence waving her hoof in front of my face.
"Sorry", I apologized, "It's just that their manes are so sparkly and I love anything that sparkles. Not to be rude, but who are they?"
"These are my aunts Princess Celestia and Princess Luna."
"PRINCESSES?! Im so sorry. I didn't know"
"It's alright", assured Celestia "Now let's check out the mirror."
We went back to the crystal mirror. Luna put her hoof, and once again, nothing happened.
"What's wrong with it?", I asked.
"I guess the three days are up", said Luna
"Three days?"
"The crystal mirror works only once a month for three days", explained Celestia.
"How long before it works again?", I asked.
"30 moons", explained Luna
"And how long is that?"
"About 3 years"
"3 YEARS?!"
I started freaking out a bit.
"I CAN'T STAY HERE FOR 30 YEARS!…I mean not that I don't like it here. BUT I GOTTA GET HOME! I have school, my family, Silver's concert…OH NO SILVER! I FORGOT ABOUT HIS CONCERT"
"And who is this Silver?", asked Celestia.
"He's my best friend from the human world. He's in a band, and Im always at his concerts. Im his number one fan. Isn't there a way to get back without waiting three years?"
"There is one way…", said Luna.
"Really?", I asked, "What is it?"
"You must build a strong bond with friends", explained Celestia.
"Friends? I don't have any friends", I explained. "But how can friendship get me home?"
"A couple of years ago, a student of mine used the power of friendship to achieve many things", explained Celestia, "And now she's the Princess of Friendship"
"Whoa"
I guess friendship is powerful…or something.
"You might wanna rest up", said Celestia, "Because tomorrow, were going to Ponyville.
