//-------------------------------------------------------// The End -by magicmag49- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Twilight looked around the crowded stadium, eyes scanning for anything familiar, a flash of pink hair hopefully. But ever since the outbreak she had learned to never hope, she learned all she could do was run and have faith that they could survive. Twilight still didn’t know how she had survived this ordeal. Before she had been the town librarian, Amelia Sparkle, but after this she became Twilight. The gunslinger that never missed a shot, killed every single zombie in her wake, who was almost always seen at the twilight hour, stalking the streets for any zombie, covered in dried blood and mud. To other she was a role model, the perfect example of how they should act during this apocalypse. They just made her scoff. Continuing to scan the room with her unweilding eyes, she began to internally sweat. She had lost all of her other friends, one had actually been the one who caused the outbreak, causing her to be executed in front of the entire world. She prayed that Pinkie was still alive, she was the only one of her friends that she hadn’t have to shoot in the head or watch die. Pinkie was strong, no way would she have let a zombie eat her brains. Then, right as she was about to give up and leave she spotted a slash of pink heading her way. Shocked she stood still as she was plowed over and thrown to the ground. “What the hell? “she exclaimed after her back had hit the ground. “Ahahah, you’re alive! I knew you were too smart to die!” the figure above her cried. “I knew you were to damn dumb to die” she retorted. ”Amelia, or should I say Twilight” Pinkie began “That is not how you greet a friend after seeing them alive after the zombie apocalypse.” “Well, I didn’t realize there were criteria to this reunion” “Of course, where supposed to cry, say things like I thought you died and profess you love to each other” Raising an eyebrow Twilight said “Geez, you’re as extravagant as ever.” “Puh-lease I had to blend into the background for years to keep myself from being eaten, let me have some fun” “Fine, but can you get you’re fat ass off of me?” “Rude, I’ll have you know I’ve slimmed down” “Really?” “Can you stop being a bitch for five seconds?” “Nope, I haven’t had this much fun since before the outbreak” “Glad insulting me has made your day” “Thanks” “So anyway, did you meet anyone along the way, make any teams?” “Well, except for in the beginning when it was us and….the others, not really. The occasional team-up or pair would happen, but it would only last for a week at the least. I never felt bad if I had to gun them down.” “Wow, you really are as cold as everyone said you were.” “Hey, this was survival of the fittest, the strong live and the weak die. Like the circle of life, simple as that. You?” “Ehh, I was with this nice couple for a while, they had two toddlers.” “That mustn’t have turned out well” Pinkie shook her head sadly before continuing “The husband was turned trying to protect them one time while I was raiding in a different part of the building. The one toddler died from fever a couple weeks later, and then the other turned into zombie food. The mother ended up ending her life before I could stop her not too long after. “ “That was..” “Terrible, yeah. I was teamed up with this one guy that called himself Cheese Sandwich. If we had met before the outbreak we would have been, like the best of friends probably. ” “Even more then the two of us?” “Nah, but close.” “He ended up getting bitten two months ago, he shot himself before it took over completely. Nothing too permanent after that.” “Well I wouldn’t have made any more alliances if all of that had happened to me. I mean, I refused to work with anyone else after…” Twilight said trailing off. “Do you still remember…how they died?” Pinkie questioned. “How could I forget? Fluttershy was publically executed because she had worked in the lab that made the outbreak. Rarity was bitten within a week, it was me and Applejack, and I was the only one with enough guts to end her. Applejack wouldn’t look me in the eyes again. Then two months later, during a raid, it was Rainbow. She got to cocky and got bitten. I also had the pull the trigger on that one. And Applejack, well, that one I rember oh so vividly” Twilight said with a far out look in her eye. Pinkie was listening with great interest, but a look of sadness in her gaze. “We had made camp at that old two story house. We thought we would be safe. But they came, busting through the windows. They reached us and I woke up first, and I opened fire. You guys woke up, I grabbed your wrist and pulled you out of the room with Applejack trailing us. We became cornered on the second floor. I was running out of bullets and Applejack wasn’t doing much better and you bat wasn’t working well. Then Applejack got bitten. She had fear in her eyes as she saw the bite. She knew what was going to happen. She gave me the rest of her bullets before telling us to run.” Twilight swallowed thickly before continuing. “She knew what I was planning to do. She told me to not even try it. Tears where running down her face and I knew mine probably mirrored hers. But I cocked my gun and shot her in the head anyway. I grabbed you and pulled you away, just randomly shooting anything out of my way, I don’t how we survived that day. And then we were separated three days later” Twilight said sadly as she felt Pinkie’s arm snake around her side. “It’s alright Twi. You did what anyone would have done.” Pinkie comforted. “Kill their friends?” she asked with tears spilling out of her eyes. “Yeah Twi, cause like you said survival of the fittest, the strong live and the weak die and the circle of life. It would have happened anyway, you at least gave them dignity.” Pinkie replied “Besides you still have me.” “Yeah, but how much longer until you have to leave me as well?” “I promise I’ll never leave.” “Swear?” “Swear” Pinkie said with a smile, trying her best to ignore the sting of her right shoulder. //-------------------------------------------------------// What Happened To Spike //-------------------------------------------------------// Author's Note I got this idea after a comment from Joshiplier, so thanks again for the idea. What Happened To Spike As Spike crawled himself out from the rumble of the ruined city he looked around. His eyes surveying the landscape looking to see if there was any infected coming his way. Not like they would come after him anyway. After all, he could be considered one of them, he wasn’t human. Made in the same lab as the infection, he had the smell of it clinging to him. They just walked right around him as though he wasn’t there. Unlike everyone else who seemed to struggle, other than starvation, he had no real worries. But he couldn’t help but feel sorry for them, he might not be human but he had feelings. Watching as they were bitten, eaten, as they had to shoot their friends, he couldn’t help but pity them. Surveying the scene once again and seeing nothing on the horizon, he got up and began to walk. This is his routine, to just walk until he gets hungry or it turns dark, and then he find shelter or food. Over the past few days he hasn’t noticed any infected. In fact it had been exactly eight days since he had last encountered them. He couldn’t help but wonder if they had finally all been killed. But, not like it would terribly affect him anyway, he would just continue living on his own. On the horizon, a few hours later, he spotted what seemed to be a block. After walking a little farther, he was able to see that it was actually a crude house, with boards hammered to areas where holes had been and windows with no glass. And sitting outside the house was a girl in front of a stone. Cautiously walking up behind her said “Hello.” She didn’t even acknowledge him, only pulling her legs into her chest as she continued to watch the stone. “Ummm, are you alright? Do you need something or…” he began. “She lied to me” the girl croaked out. “Huh?” “She promised me she would be with me forever, but that idiot lied to me” She whispered. “I don’t really understand..” “SHE’S A LYING BASTARD WHO PROMISED SHE’D BE WITH ME FOREVER BUT INSTEAD SHE WENT AND GOT INFECTED” the girl cried out with tears streaming down her face. “Hey listen, I don’t really get what you’re talking about but maybe if you tell me a bit more about what’s bothering you, I can help you.” “My friend, she told me that she would stay with me forever….all our friends where already dead from the infected of course, but we managed to survive. I was a mess and asked her if she would stay by side forever and she said yes. Two days later she turned into one of the infected” she told him as tears leaked out her eyes, before pausing for a minute and then continuing “I had to shoot her, like almost all my other friends” taking deep gasping breaths she stuttered out “I’m a murder…I killed everyone I’ve ever cared about. I’m a monster.” Spike watched the withering girl, he has saw people get like this before, after anyone killed one of their companions. It was almost as bad as watching the girlfriend killing her boyfriend, that one had involved a lot of tears. “Hey, I’ve seen tons of other people do stuff like that. You're pretty much normal” he said trying to comfort her. “That doesn’t comfort me at all.” “Geez, sorry for trying and make you feel better.” “I’ll give you credit for trying to make a complete stranger better.” “I’ve got nothing better to do, even if your kinda weird looking.’” Stifling a laugh she turned around and looked at him with a smirk and said “You don’t look much better.” “Hey, don’t diss my hair” “Psh, don’t diss mine” “Spike” “Huh?” “That’s my name.” “That’s…different.” “So what’s yours then?” “Ameil…..Twilight” “See, your no better.” “It’s better than Spike.” “Yeah right my names awesome.” “You’re like what twelve, why the heck are you traveling alone?” “Don’t have any family.” “They all died?” “I guess you could say that” he said, thinking of the scientists who raised him. “How are you still alive, you must be one tough kid.” “It’s not like that, the infected just ignore me.” “How!?” “My smell.” “How’s your smell different than mine.” “It has to do with my family issue.” “Oh-kay, well now that the infection is gone, what are you going to do? I mean you’ll need to live somewhere.” “Wait, the infections gone?” “Yep, for a little over a week now.” “Well I’ve been wandering around for nothing.” “Nah, you wandered all the way here to comfort me.” “Sure whatever you say.” She paused for a bit before speaking again “I haven’t smiled for a while, it feels nice. Since you have no place to go right now, why don’t you stay with me for a bit?” Contemplating his options, he decided the best answer would be “Sure.”
