My Dragon, His Pony

In The Sand

Sweetie limped to her bathroom, her coat glistening with sweat from her vigorous "work out". It was no doubt satisfying, but she was shocked that she did it for so long.

"Is it normal for girls to do that for so long?" She asked herself, grabbing a wad of tissue with her magic and wiping the sweat from her brow and face. After dropping the tissues in the trash, she turned on the hot water in her shower and stepped in.

The hot water felt magical as it matted her mane and ran down the sides of her body. She started humming a song, throwing in lyrics here and there.
After letting herself soak for a while, she turned to get her shampoo. But as soon as she turned to the bottle, she paused.

The bottle was red, and the top of it was curved and rounded, conjuring up ideas of a certain part of the male anatomy. She gulped, leaning down with a flushed face to get a better look at the now naughty shaped bottle. It had to be close to ten inches long and maybe two inches thick or three.

"I wonder if Spike's…."

Out of curiosity, she levitated it to her face, closing her eyes and letting it rub up her cheek. She stopped, opening her eyes and catching the ridiculous sight of herself in the mirror, molesting a shampoo bottle.

"SIGH, I think that I need to talk with the girls," she admitted, defeatedly.

Since the manifestation of 'The Castle of Friendship', Ponyville had seen a rise in population. It luckily still maintained its small town charm, but now had attributes of a bigger town.

One of which was the building of Ponyville high. Princesses Celestia and Luna decided (with a strong insistence from princess Twilight) that Equestria was entering a new age, and that meant that more attention was to be given to the kingdoms infrastructure. In the past, indoor plumbing was rare to be found in the more distant parts of the land, such as Dodge Juncture and Appaloosa, but now even they had running water and the like.

In the case of education, fillies and colts would only be taught till the end of the seventh grade, when they would go off to find their true calling. Today, it is the law that a young pony attend school at least until the age of sixteen (should they choose to drop out).

Ponyville's new high school wasn't the biggest, but it was enough.

It was lunchtime, and Sweetie Belle found herself sitting between Apple Bloom and Scootaloo. Two of the teen mares were laughing as they talked about their day and other girl stuff, while Sweetie sat a bit fidgety, not sure how to broach the subject that was on her mind.

"So then, Mayflower looked up, just as the ball slammed into her face! It was so sudde-"

"So, uh…Is it normal to think about jumping your boyfriend often?" Sweetie interrupted, unable to wait any longer.

And just like that, the happy laughter and talking stopped, and the courtyard seemed like the middle of a forest.

"Is this about Spike again?" Scootaloo asked, sounding a bit exasperated.

"Ya didn't go off on another Rarity rant, did ya?" Apple Bloom asked, placing her hoof on Sweetie's shoulder with a concerned look.

"Well, yes, but that isn't what I wanted to talk to you guys about."

Apple Bloom and Scootaloo looked dryly at one another, as if linked mentally.

"Seriously, Sweetie Belle, again? You have to be one of the pickiest unicorns I know," Apple Bloom confessed.

"Yeah, ya need to stop obsessing about all that little stuff and just be happy that you have a boyfriend," Scootaloo added.

"Little stuff?" Sweetie asked with a hint of anger and irritation aimed at Scootaloo.

"Do you have any idea what it's like to have feelings for someone for so long but they only have feelings for your big sister!?"

"Well, uh, I…"

"And even after we started going out, how am I not supposed to wonder, is he only with me because he couldn't get Rarity, am I only second best?"

"SWEETIE!" Apple Bloom hollered. She had learned that it was the only way to get Sweetie Belle out from one of her "rants". The teenage unicorn looked to her pegasus friend, feeling bad that she had snapped at her.

"I'm sorry, Scootaloo."

Scootaloo just waved it off with the tip of her wing.

"Don't sweat it. If I had a bit for every time you flew off the handle from the mention of Rarity……I'd be princess Celestia."

A moment of silence…then the three started laughing in unison.

"Alright, all joking aside, what's this problem yer having?" Apple bloom asked, getting back to the topic at hoof.

Sweetie fidgeted a bit.

"Well…I don't know! I think that I'm going crazy. I mean, we make out and stuff, and it's so amazing, the things he can do with his tongue is just so-"

"We don't need details, Sweetie," Apple Bloom stated before Sweetie went any further.

"Sorry…He's been so patient with me, what with my occasional freak outs about his past crush on Rarity. I just worry that if I go further with him that he might…not want me anymore."

Apple Bloom and Scootaloo traded looks again before they both said in unison.

"Do him."

Sweetie's face turned redder than a tomato.

"Sweetie Belle, we're not tellin ya ta gallop into something you're not ready for, but we aint talkin about some horn dog stallion, it's just Spike," Apple Bloom explained.

"Yeah! I mean, you love him and junk, right?" Scootaloo asked, giving Sweetie a light slap on the back.

"O-of course I do, but what if-"

"He said that he didn't have feelins for Rarity any more, didn't he?" Apple Bloom asked, giving her a nudge.

"He did, he says that every time I get crazy…but-"

"No buts, missy. Trust us, you go all the way with Spike, and the only problem you'll have is keeping him from jumping you every minute of every day. Oh! and you'll probably get more of those corn ball poems from the big sap."

Sweetie blushed again, but this time with a smile. She threw out her fore legs and wrapped her friends in a big girly hug, to which Scootaloo groaned, but submitted to the girly affections. Sweetie knew that he friends would have the answers she needed. She probably might not go as far as to…with spike, but she felt a hundred times better after talking with them.

Silver Spoon sat in the classroom eating her lunch alone, like every day. Diamond Tiara had moved to Canterlot with her father after grade school, leaving Silver to learn that she had no other friends. Silver realized too late that she had burned any potential friendships she could have had. She looked out the window at Sweetie Belle as she ate lunch with the other two former crusaders. She scowled at the beautiful unicorn as she laughed and enjoyed her time with friends. To Silver, it almost seemed like she was laughing at her, but she would soon see those happy laughs turn to tears, once she had that big dumb oaf wrapped around her hoof.

Spike was going to wait till Sweetie got out of school, but he was just too excited. He had seen a thunder storm last night, and he just had to have her with him where he was going.

Spike didn't have anything against the school, but the place always made him feel…kinda sad. Sweetie had lectured him about how he should be in school for his education and what not. What she really wanted was for them to attend school together, but Spike didn't need to go to school.

Living with Twilight all his life meant that he had the equivalent of a high school education since he was eleven. Deep down, he did have a desire to go to school with his girlfriend, but he really didn't want to go through the awkward, 'only dragon in school' thing.

The bell rang, and Spike smiled as he started entering the gates.

He looked up and down the halls at the guys and girls as they went about their after school stuff. He spotted a flash of orange and purple down the hall, telling him that he would find Scootaloo around the corner.

He spotted the speedy pegasus standing with Apple Bloom.

"Hey, A.B., Scootaloo!" He called to his girlfriend's friends.

The teenage mares looked up at the purple dragon with excitement.

"Spike!" They both called together.

"Scootles, how's the air ball team going?" Spike asked the pegasus, to which Scootaloo puffed out her chest proudly.

"I'm only two game wins away from being captain, thank you very much."

Spike gave her a hoof bump as they both cheered "YEAH!".

"Apple Bloom, how is the Future Farmers of Equestria club going?"

Apple Bloom chuckled quickly, before resuming a straight face.

"It's, uh…..boring, ta be honest, but ah am learning a lot of new stuff ta help out around the farm, what with Apple Jack getting ready to pop and all."

Spike had almost forgotten that A.J. had a bun in the oven and that Apple Bloom was about to be an aunt.

"Twilight says that she's doin well, aunty Apple Bloom," he stated in a teasing way to the yellow earth pony.

Apple Bloom blushed before shooting Spike a warning glare.

"So, what brings you by, mister I don't have to go to school? Looking for your girlfriend maybe?" Scootaloo asked, giving him a jab in the gut.

"I am actually. Have you guys seen Sweetie?"

"She's doin a practice solo in the choir room. We were about ta go watch, wanna come along?"

Spike looked to Apple Bloom with great excitement. Sweetie had the voice of an angel, yet she had yet to let Spike hear her sing. So it went without saying that he was gung ho to witness it.

The choir room was large, with its own stage and auditorium seating. It was dimly lit inside as the three friends entered and found seats in the back so that they wouldn't be noticed.

Spike could see Sweetie on stage, illuminated like a star from the overhead lights as they made her white coat shine. She was speaking with an older grey stallion, who Spike assumed was the teacher. He drummed his claws on the seat in front of him, hopping he hadn't missed her singing.

The teacher left Sweetie alone on stage. She stretched her neck and cleared her throat as she waited for the music to start.

Spike heard a cello start playing, and he knew the name of the song. He had heard Octavia play it once, but with no singing. It was called "Ave Maria", and Spike listened intently for her to start.

The second she started, he was frozen in his seat at the sound of heaven that flowed dreamily from within her. It was like listening to a foal's heart beat, and so soothing that Spike thought he was melting.

In one magical moment, he felt as though he were flying, and he imagined a blue sky with white clouds dotting an endless horizon.

It seemed to end as soon as it began, and the room reverberated with the echo of her glorious voice. Spike only stared with a slightly opened mouth, before he couldn't hold back his joy any longer. He rose to his feet, clapping and cheering like a goof.

"All right Sweetie! That was so awesome!"

Apple Bloom and Scootaloo joined in as well, but with a little less excitement than their dragon compatriot.

Sweetie Belle spotted the cheering trio, a crimson blush covering her face.

"Spike!? W-what are you doing here!?" She asked, stumbling as she spoke. The three came down to the stage where Sweetie stood.

Sweetie was about to lecture Spike about space and personal boundaries, but he picked her up, and gave her a big hug. She smiled, resting her head on his shoulder.

"Spikeieeeeeee~! I told you I was nervous about letting you hear me sing…sweetheart," she whispered into his ear.

"Don't be mad at Spike, Sweetie. We told him about your solo and offered ta bring him," Apple Bloom said to the hug smothered pony.

"And we just knew that the big goof would love to hear you more than anything. Seriously, I think you just made his whole year," Scootaloo speculated, hoping Sweetie had enough air.

Spike finally set the dainty pony down again, her eyes glossy. She looked at Spike and her two friends and felt an amazing sense of peace. Like nothing could be wrong as long as she had so many who loved and cared about her.

"I'm not mad. I-I guess it had to happen at some point," Sweetie confessed. She did still feel shy about Spike hearing her sing, but she did like how he praised her.

Sweetie smiled up at the dragon, fluttering her lashes and hitting him with an invisible beam of feminine charm.

Apple Bloom nudged Scootaloo, who looked a bit grossed out by the gushy sight of her friend flirting with her boyfriend.

"Well, uh…Me and Scootaloo are gonna goooooooo…"

"Hit up Sugar Cube Corner!" Scootaloo cut in.

"Yeah! That's it. Come on, Scoot Scoot."

And with that, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo took off to the sweet shop.

Sweetie Belle walked over to Spike, where she nuzzled against him like a kitten.

"What are you doing here, Spikey? Did you decide to finally make my dream come true and join me in classes?" She asked with a well placed blink.

Spike suddenly remembered why he came to get her. He knelt down and took her hoof in his claws.

"Sweetie! I need you to come with me!"

Sweetie tilted her head with a raised brow.

"Where?" She asked.

Spike looked really excited, which excited Sweetie too, but with a little more hesitation.

"I can't tell you, it's a surprise. Will you come with me?"

Sweetie felt her heart race. There was only one reason a guy would look so excited about taking his girlfriend to a place he couldn't tell her about.

"I-is he planing to take me to some pay by the hour hotel? O-or a secluded place in the forest?"

The scenarios kept playing in her head, but she remembered what her friends had told her.

"Do him."

She gulped, steeling her nerves as she looked into his eyes. She didn't expect him to be so direct, but she would be lying if she said that she didn't kinda like it.

"O-of course. I…I'll go with you."

Spike beamed as he led her by the hoof to what Sweetie assumed would be her becoming a full mare.

They walked for a while till they were outside Ponyville. Sweetie felt more than a little nervous. Spike must have planned this out, and Sweetie wondered what he had planned to cause such excitement.

Finally he stopped. Sweetie looked around, but wasn't sure how she felt about the location. They were in the middle of a large rockey field. There was sand and grit under her hooves, and all around there were big boulders. It went without saying that it wasn't the most ideal or scenic place Sweetie imagined losing her virginity, but Spike usually had a plan to woo her.

"This place is…nice, Spike," she said, trying to sound optimistic.

"Yeah, it's great," he said, looking around for something.

"Ok, uh, take a seat there. I won't take too long," he instructed, pointing to a spot behind her.

Sweetie looked behind her at a flat rock. She was about to ask Spike what he was planning, but Spike had already started digging in the dirt, which only confused her greatly.

Not wanting to ruin his scheme, she took a seat on the rock and watched as he dug.

Twenty minutes passed and Sweetie wasn't having very much fun. She had set to using her magic to stack little rocks, and now she was surrounded by a little city of rock towers.

She sighed, about to tell Spike that she was ready to go home, when he stood up from his waist deep hole and looked to her with a mud covered goofy grin.

"Found it!" He cheered.

Sweetie got up excitedly, eager for a change of pace. She darted to the edge of the hole and looked down. Spike pulled out what looked like a long skinny stalagmite covered in sand and dirt.

"Here, hold this in your hooves," he instructed, passing the rock to Sweetie, who cringed a bit at holding the dirty object.

"Uhhh, Spike? What is this?"

"It's a piece of fulgurite!" He exclaimed happily.

Sweetie looked over the ugly rock, feeling more than a little disappointed.

"So, you brought me out here for a dirty rock?"

Spike's face looked crestfallen.

"Ok ok, I'll explain. Last night we had that thunder storm. Well, I saw a bolt of lightning strike over here. Twilight told me that when lightning strikes wet sand, the heat of that strike is five times hotter than the surface of the sun."

"Wow, that is really hot," sweetie said, honestly amazed at how hot lightning could be.

"It's so hot that it melts the silica in the sand, leaving a perfect imprint of the lightning's shape."

Sweetie looked down at the fulgurite with new amazement.

"So, you mean that…."

Spike nodded.

"That rock you're holding, is the closest you or me will ever get to holding a bolt of lightning. A fitting gift, for a princess I think."

Sweetie didn't know what to say. She had come with him expecting him to make a move on her, but here he was covered in dirt so that he could give her a one of a kind treasure.

It was boring at first, but now she would look back at it as one of the best dates ever.

"Do you like it? I know it isn't as cool as a-"

In a flash, Sweetie set the fulgurite down and tackled Spike in the hole. She didn't even care that he was covered in dirt and sweat.

The couple laid in the hole, laughing and cuddling. Sweetie gave him a firm kiss on his mouth, flashing him her mint green eyes.

"I absolutely love it."
