My Dragon, His Pony

Spike laid sleeping soundly on his big, comfy bed s the early sunlight crested over the horizon, creating a dim twilight within his crystal room. His door opened slowly, followed by the dainty stepping of hooves along the floor.

A sneaky little teen mare approached where the dragon slept on his back, occasionally murmuring in his sleep. The young pony carefully climbed atop the snoozing drake, inching her way up his body till she was face to face with him.

Most ponies would shiver at the idea of approaching a sleeping dragon, but for Sweetie Belle it was as natural as breathing.

"Spiiiiiike," she whispered to her sleeping boyfriend.

"Spiiiiiiiiiiiiiike, wake up, sexy belly."

"Mummm, hummm, huh? Sweetie Belle?" He asked groggily.

"Yes it's me, my sleeping prince."

"'Yaaaaaaawn…W-what's up? Is Equestria in danger again?"

"Tee hee, no sweet heart. Today is the day that I introduce Silver Spoon to Apple Bloom and Scootaloo as our new friend, and I was thinking that you might want to wish me luck."

"Uh, yeah yeah. That's nice, Sweetie. Just don't eat to many of those deviled eggs. I think the mayo is bad."

Sweetie could see that it was pointless to try and talk to him. She got a funny idea and jiggle her body slightly atop him.

"Ya know, being in this state, I could take advantage of you," she whispered.

"Do what you like….Just don't wake me. And how about you make daddy some breakfast. Eggs…'yawn'...extra crispy hash browns."

Sweetie puffed her cheeks in aggravation.

"Make your own damn breakfast!" She yelled.

Spike continued to sleep. Sweetie sighed, rolling her eyes with a smile. She leaned over him, planting a light kiss on his cheek. She turned to leave, but only made it a couple of steps before she bit her lip and looked sideways. His belly was sticking up, bathed in the low light of dawn.

To Sweetie Belle it was like seeing a shimmering silver idol, except it was a pudgy belly on a dragon.

She flipped her mane as she put on a sultry expression, her hips swaying as she sauntered over to the sexy mound of scales.

"Well good morning to you too, Mr. Belly," she greeted her second lover.

"What's that? Y-you think that I look lovely? No way. I didn't even do my mane properly this morning. I must look awful," she commented as she blushed.

"Huh? You think that I look beautiful no matter what time of day it is? Oh Mr. Belly, you always know exactly what to say to make me feel special."

Her eyes twinkled as she gazed with love at the pudg.

"What? You want to do what? M-Mr. Belly, I have to get to school. I don't have time to do…that. Even though I really want to. Well, I suppose that a kiss wouldn't hurt."

Sweetie closed her eyes as she leaned in and placed her lips to the side of his belly, gently cooing as she raised her hind leg.

Silver Spoon stood alone outside the gates of the school, nervously waiting for Sweetie Belle to arrive. Maybe it was her years of being the hench filly to a bully, perhaps it was the butterflies in her stomach, but she just couldn't get rid of the anxious feeling she had.

Thoughts swirled in her head that this was all an elaborate trap set up by her former victim to get even.

"No!" She echoed inside her head.

She looked into Sweetie Belle's eyes, and there wasn't even a trace of deception or falsehood. She was tired of being alone. Tired of spending weekends and holidays in her room staring at the walls. The idea of having a life and doing things with others did make her more nervous than a colt in a lingerie shop, but she needed a change.

"Silver Spoon, good morning!"

Silver turned her head toward the voice, smiling at the sight of the unicorn. She waved, trying to hide how nervous she was.

"H-hi Sweetie Belle," she greeted, trying to sound normal.

"Are you ready for today?"

"Well, uh…yeah, of course," Silver replied.

Sweetie could sense her nervousness, and couldn't deny her own trepidation. Sweetie put her hoof to Silver's shoulder with a reassuring smile.

"Don't worry, I'll be right by your side."

Silver smiled as best she could, nodding her affirmation. The two girls shared a hug before going their ways to class. As the day passed, Silver Spoon couldn't help but keep looking to the clock on the wall. Every tick of the second hand seemed to take an eternity, making the minutes even more agonizing. She took a deep breath to try and calm herself.

"You're going to do fine. Sweetie Belle promised that. Just be nice and whatever you do…..don't be mean."

A loud ringing sounded, signifying that it was lunch time. Silver Spoon jumped in her seat, her heart nearly bursting from the shock. She collected herself and secured her saddle bag. With another deep breath she walked out into the hall and to the place she was to meet with Sweetie.

Apple Bloom sat in the courtyard of the school trying her best to stay awake as Scootaloo carried on with her story about her practice yesterday. The teenage earth pony was used to boring goings on, being in the FFA, but Scootaloo could really go on.

"So then, I swooped in and snatched the ball right out from under her! She thought that she could out maneuver me? Who dose that chick think I-"

"Oh look, here come Sweetie Belle!" Apple Bloom exclaimed, elated that there was a distraction from Scoot's story.

The two girls looked up at their friend, but quickly became confused at the sight of the pony walking beside her. It had been some time since they had seen hide or hoof of Silver Spoon, and seeing her now aroused different emotions in both girls. Apple Bloom raised an eye brow that would do her big sister proud, while Scootaloo glared daggers upon the girl who was walking with her friend.

"Uh, hey…Sweetie Belle," Apple Bloom greeted, not quite sure what was going on.

"Hey girls," Sweetie greeted, trying not to sound nervous. "You both remember Silver Spoon, don't you?"

"How could we not?" Scootaloo replied, sounding nothing like the rambunctious girl she was.

"Well, she has something she would like to say."

Sweetie stepped out of the way, allowing a shy, grey earth pony to step forward. Silver Spoon could feel their eyes on her, even though she wasn't really looking. All at once it was like her past deeds were gripping tightly around her throat. She swallowed hard, opening her mouth to speak.

"I-I just wanted to say that…."

"Say what!? Sorry? I know it wasn't to say that!" Scootaloo exclaimed, her eyes a light with anger.

The three other girls all looked with shock at the fuming pegasus.

"Scootaloo, you've got it wrong. Silver Spoon isn't the same as she used to be," Sweetie defended, garnering a venomous glare from her friend.

"How can you believe her, Sweetie Belle? How can you fall for her act!?"

Scootaloo's insinuation that she was some gullible fool hit Sweetie harder than a speeding train, and the unicorn's expression turned to one of equal anger.

"Who are you? And what have you done with my friend?" Sweetie asked the very different pegasus.

"Scuse me?"

"When did you become so bitter? That's not the Scootaloo I grew up with."

"It happened around the time that your new friend and Diamond Tiara convinced me that I was no good because I couldn't fly!"

Silver Spoon stepped up to draw Scootaloo's attention.

"Scootaloo, I'm so sorry. I was mixed up back then and I-"

"I DONT WANNA HEAR IT!" Scootaloo yelled at a volume that genuinely frightened her oldest friends.

Scootaloo's eyes gleamed with rage. A rage that made Silver Spoon recoil in fear that the pegasus would turn violent toward her. She took a step toward Silver Spoon, but her way was quickly blocked by Apple Bloom, who stopped her with a firm stance.

"Get out of my way, Apple Bloom! I'm gonna-"

"No you aint!" The earth pony stated, challenging Scootaloo to make a move.

"Now you're defending her? After all they did to you?"

"They did a lot ta me, yes. But ah was raised to believe a certain way, and part a that way is ta forgive somepony who's apologizin."

Scootaloo fumed as she and Apple Bloom continued to exchange sparks.

"Apple Bloom…I swear to you I'll-"

"Yer gonna what?" Apple Bloom asked, pressing her forehead hard against Scootaloo's.

The two pressed against each other for what felt like forever to Sweetie Belle, who was on the verge of tears.

With a grunt of anger, Scootaloo slid her forehead off of Apple Bloom's and stormed off in the oposit direction. Before she was out of ear shot, she turned her head back to the three.

"Don't cry to me later…" She hissed before she was gone.

Sweetie Belle collapsed onto her haunches, having lost the strength to stand, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Sweetie Belle! Are you alright?" Apple Bloom asked as she rushed to her friend's side.

"I-I'm so sorry," she stuttered.

"No, Sweetie, I'm the one who should be sorry," Silver Spoon interjected, lowering her head in shame. "I did all this. I was foolish to think that I could ask for forgiveness after all the horrible things that I've done. Now I've driven a wedge between you guys."

"All right, that's enough a the pity party y'all," Apple Bloom interrupted.

"Sweetie Belle, ah expect nothin less from you ta forgive Silver Spoon and to want ta make her our friend. Twilight would be proud. And Silver Spoon, y'all showed a lot ah integrity, apologizin and all. And don't ya worry nothin bout Scoots. Let er fume a while and she'll come round."

Sweetie snorted back her tears, looking up at her friend and smiling.

"Thanks, Apple Bloom," she said, pulling the earth pony into a hug, which she returned.

Though her words were a great comfort, Sweetie was only putting on a painted smile. She had never seen Scootaloo look so angry, and she trembled in fear on the inside at the possibility that she may loose one of her best friends.

~Latter at the castle~

"And that's what happened. What am I going to do, Spike?"

Spike looked on at his girlfriend, absorbing the story she had told him about what happened. She sat at the edge of his bed like she had many times in the past, but he had never seen her like this. She was trembling, and her eyes were red from crying. In all the time he had known her he had only seen her as the happy, optimistic girl who always did her best and stuck to her morals. But now she looked so…fragile. Like one strong wind would scatter her like sand.

He scooted over and turned her to face him. She kept her gaze down, too ashamed of herself to make eye contact with him.

"Look at me, Sweetie Belle."

Slowly she raised her head, feeling frozen as soon as she looked into his eyes.

"We've known each other for a long time now, but do you know what I know most about you?"

"W-what?" She asked as she sniffed and wiped away a stray tear.

"Everything," he stated simply, flashing her one of his goofy grins.

"You're kind to strangers and little ponies, you put others before yourself even if it hurts or inconveniences you. Not to mention that you do that cute little thing with your nose when you're happy but don't want to show it."

Sweetie smiled, placing her hoof on the back of Spike's claw, which he took and held.

"Don't let one little setback discourage you. Swallow those tears, get back on your hooves and find a way to work it out."

Sweetie smiled big as she threw her forelegs around her dragon's middle, nuzzling him gently.

"Do you know what I know most about you, Spike?"

"What's that?" He asked, stroking her mane.

"Whenever it feels like I'm spiraling out of control, you're always there to catch me. Just like my big, green safety net."

Spike chuckled.

"More like a big fat pillow," he countered, pointing at his belly.

"Spiiiiiiiike~!" She whined in the most adorable voice.

"Don't bring up Mr. Belly right now. Are you trying to get me all hot and bothered?" She asked with a little cheek pout.

"Only every second of every day," he replied.

The couple started laughing happily, a sound which warmed the heart of the purple alicorn who walked by at that moment.

"And don't ya worry nothin bout Scoots. Let er fume a while and she'll come round."

Apple Bloom's words resonated inside Silver's head for the rest of the day, but she felt no comfort from them. She found herself walking over to the air ball field to see Scootaloo.

"What am I doing? What am I even going to say to her?" She asked herself as she entered the stands.

The field was a buzz with the team's after school practice. Silver sat down on the bleachers, spotting the orange pegasus in the middle field. Despite the feelings that were bothering her, she was absolutely mesmerized from watching Scootaloo. It was like watching an eagle in flight. She zipped around like a dragon fly, a look of fierce determination on her face as she hit the ball and defended her team's end field.

One of the other players got hit hard by the ball and started to fall, but Scootaloo swooped in and caught her. The other players all landed to help their team mate.

Silver Spoon had known Scootaloo for a long time (though not personally), but seeing her in this light made Silver feel…giddy. She waited till she saw Scootaloo and the other players start making their way to the girl's locker room before she came down from the bleachers.

Scootaloo spotted the gray girl out of the corner of her eye, stopping in her tracks and staring her down.

"You coming, Scoots?" Asked one of the other girls.

"Be there in a sec," she replied.

The two stood facing each other, the orange glow of the sunset setting a somber mood.

"Haven't you done enough for one day?" Scootaloo asked.

Silver looked down, scuffing her fore hoof on the grass.

"I wanted to apologize to you."

"You already did, remember?"

"I mean…for today."

Scootaloo raised a brow.

"Come again?"

"It was selfish of me to just expect for you to forgive me for all I've done. So…if you want, I'll stay away from you and the others from now on. It's up to you."

Scootaloo was about to say 'buck yes', but something made her pause. In a moment of clarity, she saw what a heel she was being. Sweetie wasn't just a friend to Scootaloo, she was somepony she admired. For whatever reason, she thought that Silver Spoon was worthy of being forgiven, and if she was willing to give her a shot, then it would be foolish not to.

"No…well, maybe I can trust you…for now."

Scootaloo followed with a subtle smile. One that caused a similar one on Silver Spoon.

"Are you sure?" Silver asked.

"Nnnnope," Scoots added.

They laughed together briefly. A light wind blew in, causing a red ball to tap Silver on the leg.

"Oh hey, here's the ball," she said, turning to the side to pick it up.

"Oh, I'll get it," Scootaloo replied as she moved in to get the ball.

The two bumped heads, which caused them to lift up. What followed was the most confusing and awkward moment in both of their lives. The slight pain in Silver's head was blurred out as she realized that her lips were pressed lightly against the surprisingly soft ones of the pegasus before her.

In a flash, Silver's head was spinning as she lost her first kiss. And not just to a girl, but a really athletic and hot girl too!

Their lip contact ended swiftly, both girls looking at each other without knowing what to say.

Scootaloo gulped.

"Uh…can I take you out for pizza some time?…heh heh."
