//-------------------------------------------------------// Halloween: The True Story -by TheFanficFanPony- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Sabotage Ideas //-------------------------------------------------------// Sabotage Ideas "Yay! It's almost here!" Surprise Song shouted happily. She loved Halloween. It was the best night of the year, and this evening, the night before Halloween night, she was going to get her costume! She bounced up and down, her blonde mane bouncing with her. "Woah there, darlin'!" Tex Cactus, her colt friend and possibly husband shouted, grabbing her tail. "You've gotta slow down. Fizzy can't catch up!" Surprise looked back. Fizzy was panting and trying to catch up. She wasn't very fast. The three friends trotted into to Tootsie's candy and costume shop. Then Surprise saw it. A purple, lumpy dress hung on a rack. It had a matching pair of horn rimmed glasses. It was perfect. It was the best Smooze costume she had ever seen. "Ya like that dress, huh?" Tex asked. Surprise was just staring at the dress, eyes gleaming "Uh, yeah!" Surprise shook her head out of her trance. Tootsie looked at her with a raised eyebrow. Tex decided to be a, what else, cow pony. Fizzy was a witch, complete with a pointy hat. They bought their costumes and trotted out, nearly night time. "Byeeee!" Fizzy called as she teleported, or winked, to her house. Knowing the ditzy unicorn, she probably ending up in a forest somewhere. "Bye, darlin'!" Tex smiled, trotting away. Surprise looked as he left. He sure was cute. Little did she know she'd marry him one day! She hummed a little song to her self as she trotted to her house. She thought about her auntie, Birthday Pie, and her uncle, Clearnote Song. Well, more like her adoptive parents. She had come to live with them after her parents sent her to live on her own. Birthday would always sing this song to her as a filly. The song had been in the Pie family for generations. "Birthday, ya gotta stand up tall, learn to face your fears. You'll see that they can't hurt you, just laugh to make them disappear!" Her auntie would often sing this to her when she was scared as a filly. Surprise hummed the tune as she trotted to her house. Just then, a cloaked figure pounced in front of her from a nearby alley way. "Hello, Surprise." the mysterious figure said. Surprise thought the voice sounded familiar, but she couldn't quite place it. "I've come here ta tell you that Glory is planning to sabotage your costume at the Halloween Ball tomorrow night." the mare of mystery said. "Glory? No way!" Surprise gasped in shock. Glory was one of her best friends. She'd never try to sabotage anything, let alone a dress! "Indeed." the mare said, pacing around Surprise menacingly. "But you could always do something about it." "Uh... huh..." an uncharacteristically evil smile came onto Surprise's face. A clever idea crept into her head. If Glory wanted to wreck her costume... she'd wreck Glory's! Plus, it would be an awesome show for the fillies. She'd be the life of the party! It was a great plan. Or so she thought... As Surprise trotted away, the cloaked figure took off her cloak's hood. Her bright red mane tumbled down across her face. She smiled evilly and laughed. "Now she'll pay fer what she did. Tex, and revenge, with be rightfully mine!" Truly laughed. //-------------------------------------------------------// Halloween Night //-------------------------------------------------------// Halloween Night It was finally the day of the party. Surprise and Tickle dressed in their costumes. Tickle was dressed up like a chicken, and her lavenderish-pink skin/coat made Surprise think of her ancestor, Pinkie Pie. Her auntie had shown her a picture of that, too, on her first Nightmare Night. In Hoofkaido, her parents didn't allow her to go out on Nightmare Night, and when she finally got to go, their town had accepted the human holiday Halloween. She loved getting candy, and the holiday was s great time to play pranks. The two mares flew above the party in the lush castle garden, scanning the area. "All right my friend, have you rigged up the sprinkler system correctly?" Surprise whispered, so close to her friend that her purple dress crunched up a bit. "Yes m'am!" Tickle saluted Surprise. "And I've for the cloud too!" She pointed her hoof to the dark thunder cloud next to her. "Good. Then all is in readiness. Now we must wait for the right moment to strike." Surprise said. "You remember the signal?" "Yep!" Tickle flapped one wing very hard, which was their signal. "You can go party now." Surprise told her friend. As she watched Tickle fly down to mingle as the party began, Surprise felt a pang of sadness. Buttons and Slugger slow danced together, Buttons stroking Slugger's neck. Fizzy was making a futile attempt to dance wildly to the slow music, while Salty watched her warmly. I wish Tex was here... I could dance with him, and Glory could forget all about it, Surprise thought. But Tex wasn't here, she couldn't just make her magically appear. Down below, Glory greeted guests at the party. Ponies complimented her costume and her elegant decorations. "Wow, Glory! You've really out done yourself this time!" Megan smiled. She was dressed as a fairy in a long pink gown and shimmery wings. "Thank you, dear!" Glory smiled. She was in a self made costume of a medieval princess, which had all sorts of adornments. It had took her forever to make, but it was worth it. Above, Surprise watched as Glory came into view. She flapped one wing vigorously. Tickle flapped back to show that she had seen. As Tickle flipped the switch, Surprise jumped on the cloud with all her might. KER-ZAPP!!!! The noise of the lightning was deafening. The chocolate rain splattered everywhere. Surprise looked down, expecting to see fillies laughing, and Glory smiling despite her anger. Instead, she was met with scorn. Ponies cried and screamed. Glory stared sadly at her tattered and burnt dress. Fillies ran to their mommies. "SURP-RIIIIIISE!!!!!" Glory shouted angrily. "Well, serves you right!" Surprise said back, flying down. "For what? What did I ever do to you?" Glory cried. "You... were gonna sabotage my costume." Surprise said, her anger fading just a little. "Who told you that?" Glory asked, her agony fading from her voice. "A mysterious pony in a dark alley." Surprise answered. Glory face hoofed. "Well, it might be ok with me, but what about everypony else?" Glory asked. "Oh, they'll forget!" Surprise said optimistically. Little did she know that they might not. //-------------------------------------------------------// Prolouge: A Word From Surprise //-------------------------------------------------------// Prolouge: A Word From Surprise Dear Readers, I am Surprise Song. You've probably heard of me before. I mean, who hasn't? I'm an awesome prankster and I love SURPRISES!!! But that's beside the point. I've been accused of many things in the past few days, and you've probably all heard the story: dumb blonde ruins Halloween and causes small purple dragon to choke on a lollipop. Well, that's Truly's twisted version, anyway. But this is the true story, not some twisted rumor. I apologize in advance to Spike and the fillies. I'll buy you as much candy as you want, guys! Through all this, Tex has been really supportive. Thanks, Babe!   This is the true story, straight from the horse's mouth. Now read, and see Truly for who she "Truly" is! -Surprise Song //-------------------------------------------------------// Planning and More Planning //-------------------------------------------------------// Planning and More Planning The next morning, Surprise flew to the clouds as soon as she woke up. "Hey, Surprise! What're you doing up so soon?" Tickle, a pink pegasus, asked. Surprise didn't answer. She had to find the perfect cloud to zap Glory's hide with. "Uh... Surprise? Hello?" Tickle asked, waving a hoof in front of her friend's face. "Oh! Tickle, hi!" Surprise said to her friend. "I need to find the zap-iest cloud in the sky!" "O... Kay!" Tickle said, not quite comprehending the plan. The two Pegasi flew around, jumping on every cloud and testing how electric they were. "This one! It's the best!" Surprise said cheerfully. Tickle was charred and burnt from the zap of the cloud. It probably was best to stop here. "Now, we need to rig up the chocolate rain!" Surprise smiled. She flew off to find some chocolate milk. Chocolate rain? Tickle thought. What next? "Ok, my faithful pranking partner!" Surprise smiled to Tickle. Is it just me, or does Surprise seem... off? Tickle thought as she listened to Surprise's plan. Apparently the mares were going to replace all the water in the castle sprinkler systems with chocolate milk, which Tickle would set off as soon as she heard the lightning bolt. It all seemed pretty advanced for seemingly dumb Surprise to have come up with. Next, they bought 5 million whoopee cushions, which they would put on every chair at the party. Tickle wondered what all these pranks were for. "Ok!" Surprise smiled, looking at all the things that she had collected to wreak havoc on Glory's party. "So... what exactly are you planning to do?" Tickle asked her friend. "Well, some mysterious pony in an alley told me that Glory is planning to sabotage my costume!" Surprise explained. Tickle was beginning to rethink her position on the smartness of Surprise. "And," Surprise continued, "The fillies and colts will love it! Who doesn't love a good prank on Halloween?" "Well..." Tickle thought. It didn't seem like a bad plan. In fact, it sounded kind of fun! "Sure! But what about Tex?" "He's in the West, hunting down the literal cat burglar gang, The Claw Clan." Surprise replied. "Great!" Surprise smiled. "Now we wait for tonight!" From the shadows, Truly watched with evil delight. Everything was going according to plan.
